George Weasley was not stupid by any means; he just chose to spend his time focusing on other things besides school. Him and his twin probably could get amazing grades if they wanted to but they didn’t want to. Both of them were fine being subpar in school because that wouldn’t matter anyway. However, George was always fantastic at Transfiguration. Though he would mess around and get on every single one of McGonagall’s nerves, he always managed to get the work done and ace the tests. Until recently that is.
The bell signaling the end of class rang and the students gathered their things. George laughed at something Fred said as he shoved his most recent test into his bag. “Mr. Weasley.” Came McGonagall’s voice from the front of the room. The Weasley twins turned to face her. “George, come here please.”
George sighed and waved to his brother. “I’ll see you at lunch.”
As Fred left, George made his way over to McGonagall’s desk. She glanced at him over the rim of her glasses, her face stern. “What can I do for you Minerva?” Her glare worsened and George cleared his throat. “I meant to say, what did I do now Professor?”
McGonagall sighed and folded her hands on her lap. “George, what’s happening to your grade? I know you usually only care about the minimum grade required to continue Quidditch in your other classes but typically, if you can believe it, you’re one of my top students.”
George shifted from foot to foot, unsure of what to tell her. He wasn’t about to tell her that he and his brother are planning on opening a joke shop after school. If she knew, he was sure she would disapprove or tell his mother. He was in his seventh year so really he knows he should be focusing on school and his grades but he wasn’t interested. “Just been busy.”
The look on her face told George she didn’t believe a word he said. “George, let's be honest. You have never studied for my class since your first year. I’ve seen you pay attention maybe 10 times. However, you still managed to get some of the best scores in your class, even your whole year. Want to fill me in on the actual reason your grades have dropped?”
George chewed on his lip as he debated telling her the truth. He could already hear Fred’s whining if he did tell McGonagall the truth but she was staring at him and likely wouldn’t stop until he spilled the beans. “Fred and I are planning to open a joke shop after school so really we don’t need to work hard in school.”
McGonagall sighed and shook her head. George was prepared for her to tell him it was a horrible idea; everyone else he bothered to tell thought they were idiots for wanting that. “I think it’s a wonderful idea but you can’t stop trying in your classes. I hate to do this but with your grade as is, you’re not allowed to participate in any Quidditch matches until your grade improves.”
“But Professor you can’t! The first game of the season is in three months. I have to play.” George went from elated to have her support to more heartbroken than he ever had been within seconds.
“I can and I just did. Now, I’ve taken the liberty of asking my top student to be your tutor. Once your grade has shown improvement, then you can go back to Quidditch.”
George knew there was no way to convince her to change her mind. Maybe if it hadn’t been his final year playing Quidditch, he wouldn’t have minded as much. George loved the sport but he could have lived without it for a few months if he had to. He didn’t want to but if he was forced, he would have survived. Being his last year at Hogwarts, he wouldn’t get any more games after the year was over so he had to make the most of it. Besides, maybe he could ditch the tutor and figure this all out on his own. Now that he was thinking about it, he hoped his tutor wasn’t horrible. “Who did you assign to be my tutor?”
At that moment, the door to the classroom opened and you walked in, your arms filled with books. He watched you with wide eyes, entranced by you. He’d seen you around the castle before but he never got the chance to speak with you. While he was causing chaos everywhere he went, you were always studying. George also knew that you were in the highest level class in all of your subjects; his know-it-all brother Percy would be pissed to know you were smarter than him. There was no denying how smart you were but George didn’t realize until this moment just how beautiful you were. Sure, he thought you were gorgeous from a distance but now that he was seeing you this close, gorgeous wasn’t enough to describe just how stunning you were. He should probably stop staring at you but he couldn’t take his eyes off of you.
“Miss Y/N? Please come see me.” McGonagall sounded like she was speaking through a tunnel. Her voice seemed to be so far away from George he wondered if you had actually put a spell on him. You set your belongings down on a desk before making your way up to the front of the room. With each step you took, George could feel his heart speeding up and his lungs struggling to get air.
“Yes Professor?” George stared at your lips as you spoke. He felt a little like a creep but he couldn’t stop watching.
“I was hoping you would be willing to tutor Mr. Weasley. I’d be happy to give you some extra credit if that would help.”
George held his breath, waiting for your answer. He was hopeful you would say yes even if it was just for the extra credit. “Sure.” George felt like he was flying on the fastest broom known to wizards after hearing your answer. The bell rang, meaning George would be late for charms but McGonagall had thought that through and handed him a note to explain his late arrival. McGonagall moved away from her desk, gathering papers from the students as you turned to George.
He could see your mouth moving but he couldn’t hear a single word coming from you. George saw your face contort into the most beautiful frown. What happened to make you so upset? Was it him? He searched your face for any indication on what could have gone wrong when you crossed your arms over your chest. “George? Can you meet me in the library after dinner?” You snapped your fingers in his face, causing him to come back down to earth.
“Oh, yeah sure. I can do that.”
With a roll of your eyes, you walked away from him and sat in your seat. McGonagall ushered him out of her class as he tried to wrap his brain around what just happened. Well, he had until tonight to get himself together.
---
After dinner, George made his way to the library, a room in the castle he hardly ever visited. Almost right away, George spotted you. Towards the middle of the room you sat at a table surrounded by books. With a little spring in his step, he bounded over to you, sliding into the seat across from you. “Hello Y/N. How are you this evening?”
You ignored him, grabbing a book and setting it in front of him. “Professor McGonagall said that you’ve been falling behind the past few months so I figured we could start easy to make sure you aren’t completely incompetent.” You dropped a handful of buttons onto the table and looked at him expectantly. “Turn them into beetles.”
George smiled and waved his wand, easily turning the buttons into colorful beetles that started to scurry away. Before you could react, he waved his wand again and they turned back into beetles.
“Follow me.” You grabbed your things and walked out to the courtyard, George following close behind. The courtyard was full of other students messing around before it was time for bed. He saw quite a few students with bright orange and purple boxes; he would have to tell Fred he saw their products being used out in the wild. George was too distracted watching the other people he didn’t see that you had stopped, causing him to ram right into you. You stumbled backwards and George shot his arm out to catch you around your waist, saving you from falling into the fountain.
“Sorry.” He mumbled, a crooked smile on his face. You scowled, trying to keep your own smile hidden. He was cute, you could admit that. However, he was loud and obnoxious and clearly didn’t care about anything but himself.
You cleared your throat and moved his arm away from you. His cheeks turned almost as bright red as his hair which you found to be endearing. “Turn this rock into a frog.” You picked up a rather large rock from the ground and set it on the edge of the fountain. With ease, George did as you asked and made a perfect frog.
The series of tests continued. You would tell George to transfigure something and he would do it without issue. Even the harder spells he did perfectly. This made no sense to you. Why would McGonagall claim that he needed a tutor when clearly he could do everything just fine? “Are you pretending to be stupid or something?” You finally asked George as you both walked in the castle, heading to your common rooms.
George looked at you in surprise. “What do you mean? I need a tutor.”
“No you don’t George. You did every spell perfectly. Even the one I gave you from my class which you are not in. You’re smart. On Monday I’m going to tell McGonagall you don’t need any help.”
Absolutely not. There was no way he was going to just let you go like that. You were far too smart to be in any of his classes and you were never around when he had any free time. No, George wanted to spend time with you no matter what. “Can we at least meet up again tomorrow just to make sure I know everything?”
You crossed your arms over your chest, sure there had to be some sort of trick forming in his brain. “Fine. Tomorrow at the lake at three. Don’t be late.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”
---
The next day, George waited by the lake for you, a plan forming in his head. It wasn’t his best plan but George knew if he wanted to see you again, something would have to happen. As you approached the lake, you watched George. He was much more calm when he was alone, something that you really liked. While you hardly ever spoke to him before yesterday, you had seen him around school with his brother and friends. He was so loud and open and just excited to be alive so it seemed. He was very different now on his own but you liked it. It was easier to admire his handsome features when they were relaxed. Though, he was very handsome when he was laughing and smiling too. You could even argue he was more attractive when he was happy but it was just easier to see him like this.
George spotted you and a wide bright smile crossed his face. He jumped to his feet and swooped down into a bow as you approached him. Despite trying not to smile, you couldn’t help but giggle at his theatrics. “Good morrow to you my fair lady.” He reached out and took your hand in his, kissing it.
With a roll of your eyes, you took your hand from his and dipped into a curtsy. “Good morrow to you, kind sir.” If it was even possible, George’s smile widened at your answer. He stood up straight and took your hand once again to lead you to a blanket he had set up. There was a picnic basket overflowing with snacks and a bottle of what you were sure was not champagne. Upon closer inspection, it was sparkling apple cider.
George blushed a little as he watched you take in the setup. “I thought you might appreciate snacks while you tutor me. It’s no easy job.”
You chuckled and set your books down on the blanket. “George, you’re incredibly easy to tutor. You already know everything.” You opened one of your books and searched through it to find a spell for him to try. You wanted something that wasn’t too difficult but still should challenge him. You settled on a spell you had been working on in your advanced class. “See that big boulder?” George nodded. “Turn it into a pig.”
Seeing how well he did yesterday, you were sure this would be a spell he could easily pick up on. George cleared his throat and nodded, moving closer to the rock. He cast the spell and instead of the rock turning into a pig like you expected, nothing happened. You both frowned as he tried again. And again. And again. George tried to turn the boulder into a pig for ten minutes but he never managed to do it.
“Well, maybe that one was a little harder. Why don’t you try the one we did yesterday?” You stood and grabbed a small rock to set in front of him. “Can you make it a frog?” He should be able to easily do it since he did it perfectly yesterday.
George flashed you a cocky smile. “Of course I can.” With a flick of his wand, the small rock grew frog legs but was still a rock. You both watched as the rock tried to hop around. George tried to hide his smile as you turned to him in shock. This is exactly what he had been planning on. All last night he thought about ways to keep you around. He thought that maybe if he swept you off your feet then you would be impressed and want to spend time with him but he worried it wouldn’t be enough. So, he decided to suck at transfiguration. If he was horrible then you would continue to be his tutor and he could spend more time with you and get to know you more. Then after all of that, you could at least be his friend if not more. Of course he’d have to still do better on his tests and homework so he could stay on the Quidditch team.
Sensing some bullshit, you crossed your arms over your chest. “Interesting. Maybe we should go back to the beginning?” You dug around in your bag and pulled out a matchstick. “This is one of the first spells you learn. Matchstick to needle.” Theoretically, this should be even easier than the buttons and beetles he did yesterday. Turning one inanimate object to another inanimate object is extremely easy; he should be able to do it without issue.
George nodded and took the matchstick from your hand, letting his fingers linger on your palm just a little longer than he needed. He set it on the ground and cast the spell but once again, nothing happened. George turned to look at you, hoping to see a confused expression on your face but he didn’t. You were looking more bored than anything. “Huh, I guess I do really need a tutor.”
You stared at him, wondering if he’s really doing what you think he’s doing. “George, are you pretending to be stupid?” It was the same question you asked him yesterday.
George gave you a sly smile. “What do you mean? I need a tutor.” He answered you, saying the exact same thing he said yesterday. You rolled your eyes and started packing up your things. George rushed over to you and grabbed one of your books. “Please wait.”
“No George. You knew you didn’t need a tutor and yet you insisted on meeting with me again today to what? Lie? Give me my book.”
George looked between you and the book in his hand before he slowly handed it over. “Can I at least explain why I did this?” This was all blowing up in his face. Somehow he thought that maybe you wouldn’t realize what he had been doing but he should have known someone as smart as you would have noticed.
“Fine.”
He was surprised you even gave him the time to explain himself. “I wasn’t trying to use you or waste your time. I just wanted to spend time with you and I thought this would be the best way.” He rocked on his feet as he waited for any response from you.
“Why would you need to create some dumb excuse to spend time with me?” You hated it but your heart was fluttering at the idea that George wanted to spend time with you.
George flushed bright red and rubbed a hand on the back of his neck. “Well, I think you’re really pretty and I wanted to get to know you more.”
Neither of you moved. George kept his eyes on the floor while you watched him. You had never been one to be bold; that was more George’s speciality. However, today was the time you needed to be bold. “I happen to think you’re really pretty too.”
George’s head snapped up and he looked at you with wide eyes. As he got over his shock, he smiled brightly. “Well, then what do you say we turn this tutor session into a date?” He gestured to the picnic blanket behind him.
“I’d really like that. Just promise me one thing?”
“Anything.”
You smiled and grabbed his hands in yours. “Don’t ever pretend to be stupid again.”

You’re So Pretty III (Remus x Reader)
Tumblr media
A/n: Remus wants more than anything to kiss you, but he just cant. He doesn’t want to hurt you, but avoiding you is even worse. (Also, note that reader in this is shorter than Remus since he’s like 6’2 canonically. Im really sorry if you’re taller than him)
Word count: 6.2k
_______
Sirius had snatched her up from the couch and spun her around in so many circles she felt dizzy. The skirt to her dress swung back and forth. Music from the old, muggle record player rang out in the common room. Y/N couldn’t stop laughing. She moved so gleefully, barefooted on the carpet to keep her from falling over some clunky shoes.
James was dancing with Lily, and Y/N felt her chest inflate with a bit of pride. For James getting the girl he’s always been dreaming of, and for Lily finally facing her biggest fear of loving that mischievous boy.
She felt light as air. The spiked hot chocolate running through her veins, the smell of peppermint and pine needles in the air, and the flickering light from the fireplace behind her. She couldn’t remember the last time she laughed so hard, nor could she remember a time she felt this alive.
Remus sat on the couch, not a drop of liquor running through him. He preferred to stay sober anyway, just to make sure everyone made it out unharmed. He couldn’t help but stare at her though, Y/N L/N, with the most beautiful smile he’d ever laid eyes on. She was dancing with Sirius, as her friend twirled her around and dipped her backwards a bit, causing a squeal to leave her lips.
The two of them looked so incredibly happy to be with each other. Remus felt like he was intruding on their privacy just sitting there taking a peek. The way she smiled so brightly at Sirius, her cheeks flushed and her corners of her eyes crinkled from smiling so much. He could hear her laughter and the way she yelped and clung to him when he dipped her a bit too far back.
Remus was convinced that those two belonged together. They had such a strong friendship. It ruined his mood whenever he saw them so close with each other, not having come to terms with his eventual heartbreak no matter how hard he tried.
When Sirius let go so he could go pour himself another drink, Peter was quick to jump in his place, taking Y/N by the hands and dancing back and forth to the upbeat song. Peter was always quite shy around girls, but Y/N made him feel comfortable. She was just so soft and sweet, kind to a fault. Remus Lupin understood why everyone was so endeared by the girl.
Y/N didn’t mind his furry little problem. Despite all his fears and his doubts, she promised him time and time again that she didn’t mind that he was a werewolf. She would sit in the infirmary for hours just holding his hand and telling him jokes, trying to cheer him up the best she could given the circumstances.
Every time he looked at her, he felt a pang in his chest. Something so strong he thought he might be having a heart attack at times. She would gaze at him with that dreamy look in her eyes, and he would positively melt under her glance, under her smile. She was the prettiest thing he’d ever seen.
She was too good for him. Y/N was pure and innocent, never one to get in trouble or hurt anyone else. He was a monster, that much was clear enough. He could harm her if she ever found a way to interfere with his transformation. She might be okay with things now, but if they got any closer, there was a good chance he might chase her away. Still, it was tempting to stand up and wrap his arms around her to dance just like his friends did.
Yet, he wasn’t them. He wasn’t a harmless flirt like Sirius Black, nor was he a quidditch star and hopeless romantic like James Potter, he wasn’t even friendly like Peter Pettigrew. He was just himself, the guy who turned into a beast every full moon and injured himself horribly every time. He was the guy who had scars all over his body, certainly too ugly in comparison with her smooth, soft skin.
So he buried his nose further into the novel he was reading and tried not to think about her. He tried to tune out her contagious laughter, and the beat of the songs. Godric, he tried.
She clutched at Peter’s hands and swung her hips to the music. Even through her slightly tipsy haze, she could feel tension running off Remus into the common room. His hesitation was palpable. Quietly, she excused herself from her dance with the short blond boy, saying she was just gonna get another shot before returning.
She made her way to the coffee table in front of Remus’ seat on the couch. She poured a bit of hot cocoa into her mug and just enough fire whisky for a kick.
“Remus,” she hummed, taking a seat beside him. He shivered at the touch of her thigh flush against his. She was so warm. Her fingers tapped at the edge of his novel, urging for him to shut it.
“Y/N,” he replied, watching as she took a sip of her drink and sighed, feeling that familiar burn in her throat. “Taking a break for a minute?”
“I suppose, but I came over to see you. You don’t seem like you’re having a good time,” the girl told him softly, “Don’t you want to dance with us? Or at least with me?”
His heart skipped a beat at her question. Yes, he would very much want to dance with the girl of his dreams, but he just couldn’t bring himself to do so. He was just so afraid of messing up.
“I’m just people watching.”
“Oh, come on now. I promise I won’t laugh if you step on my feet,” she giggled, poking him gently in the side. “I’d love to get at least one dance in with each one of you. I’ve already danced with Sirius, Peter, and Jamie. You’re the final piece of the puzzle.”
“Sweetheart, try as you might, I’m not getting up to dance around, even if it is with you.” She felt her heart skip a beat at the nickname. Sure, everyone had names for her, but coming from the dirty blond felt so much more enchanting. She loved when he called her sweetheart, darling, or love. Maybe he used the same terms with other girls, she didn’t know, but she still felt special regardless.
She grabbed the book from out of his hands and stuck the bookmark in between the pages to save his spot. Quickly she took another sip from her mug before extending a hand to him. “Please. For me, Remus,” she asked.
His heart couldn’t say no, even if his brain was begging him to. He took her hand in his, which normally he wouldn’t think so much about, only now he felt like his skin was burning up.
He just liked her so much. He was completely, madly in love with her.
Marlene stood by the record player, looking through Lily’s collection of vinyls, finally deciding on one. Her eyes found their way up to Y/N, where she winked with a little smirk on her lips. The expression confused her for a moment until the record started playing a much slower song than the previous one.
That snake. The betrayal she felt from her friend was too real.
She turned to peer up at Remus, giving him an awkward grin. “We can wait until the next song if you like. This one is more up James and Lily’s alley,” she said nervously, trying not to make it weirder than it already was. Her hand had slipped from his to fiddle with her other hand, picking at her chipping nail polish.
He knew she was right. Maybe they should wait until the next peppy song. Only, he really didn’t want to. He wanted to pull her close to his chest, hold her hands, and twirl her around. Remus shook his head, taking her hand back in his.
Her heart was racing. He wanted to dance with her. Even if it was awfully romantic, he still wanted to. For a moment, she felt hope building up in her chest that this crush she had on him wasn’t unrequited after all. She still smothered down the thought however, considering it more of a fever dream than the truth.
She nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck, while his gentle hands sat on her waist. Everything around her was so overwhelming, the touch against her waist, her fingers playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, the feeling of Marlene and Dorcas staring from their place at the record player. Her eyes couldn’t meet his, instead peering down at her feet.
He took that opportunity to gaze at her; how bashful she was, the way her cheeks were flushed and her nervous smile, her gaze focused down on the floor no doubt because she was embarrassed.
How could she be so comfortable around Sirius for dozens of songs, yet so nervous when it came to a single dance with him? Did she not want to dance with him? Was he too close? He didn’t know what was going through her mind, but naturally his brain went to the worst case scenarios before the positive ones.
“Did you have a fun time tonight?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah. It’s been great. Wish you’d joined the festivities a little earlier though,” she commented, “I know you’re not shy.”
“I just liked seeing everyone happy together. That’s more than enough.”
She nodded, agreeing with him. He was also so observant, watching everyone while they fooled around. He never instigated pranks, but you could bet he was there watching from the side. He was always there trying to make things better for everyone. There were so many things to appreciate about him, like how he offered her chocolate when she was hurt, or when he would sit in the Astronomy tower with her when she was crying.
“I want to see you happy, too,” she told him. “You’re always looking out for everyone else, but what about you?”
“Just being with you is enough,” he confessed, but quickly corrected himself, feeling a bit too awkward with that answer, “With all of you guys, of course.”
If only he’d have kept the first statement, she thought. Of course she wasn’t special like that. She didn’t brighten his day, not like the others did. She was the least beautiful of all the girls, not the smartest either. Remus liked smart girls. Ones that would sit and read with him, study together, talk about random things for hours. She wasn’t that smart, not like the Ravenclaw girls.
Lily was still dancing with James as she peered behind Remus, and Sirius was trying to get Marlene to slow dance despite her opposition to the idea. Peter sat at the table drinking another cup of hot cocoa, but his eyes would trail up every now and then to his group of friends, noticing things about everyone. No doubt the boy noticed the way Remus was staring down at her with puppy love in his eyes, or the way she was now stumbling a bit on her feet as the nerves got to her.
It was wonderful, she thought, as his hands held onto her waist a little tighter, as if she was going to blow away in the wind. Everything was so perfect. The twinkling of the lights around the room, the wreaths with mistletoe hanging from them, the big Christmas tree towards the center of the room lit up with enchanted candles. The windows were frosted over from the snow that day, and she could see the individual snowflakes sparkling when the light hit them just right. It was beautiful.
Y/N was beautiful.
He wanted to kiss her. He never wanted to kiss anyone more than he did right then as the girl pressed her body closer to his so they were rocking back and forth. His heart beat against her ear that rested on his chest, and he prayed it wasn’t racing.
He reached down, tilting her chin up with one hand, the other still wrapped tightly around her. Finally, she had to gaze up at him instead of wandering the room.
It felt like he was going to kiss her. She couldn’t think of anything else. By Godric, she wanted to be kissed by him. It would complete what she already thought was a perfect night. To finally get a kiss from the boy she’d come to fancy far more than she should.
“Rem, what is it?” She whispered. He felt himself leaning closer, but paused before he could go any further.
He opened his mouth to say something, anything really. Yet, no words came out. He just stared at her e/c eyes for a moment before a wave of guilt washed over him.
He shouldn’t be doing this. He shouldn’t be holding her so close. He shouldn’t be falling in love with her. He didn’t deserve to. A monster, that’s all he was. A disgusting and dangerous beast. Even if she disagreed, it wasn’t fair to her. He hated that his friends helped him with his problem, and he hated even more the thought of Y/N getting swept up into it as well.
He dropped both his hands from her body and took a step back, his eyes now glued to the floor. “I don’t know what came over me, Y/N. I should go.”
As if she could keep him from leaving, the girl grabbed his hand. It broke her heart when he tore his hand from her grip, walking over to the table and grabbing his book for the night.
“Remus, I’m sorry. Whatever I did wrong, I’ll fix it. You don’t have to leave,” she tried to reason with him, practically begging for him not to go. She felt like she’d fucked everything up somehow, made him uncomfortable. She knew it was a wrong idea to dance to this song with him. To try and make something that was just friendly into something romantic.
He just sighed, shaking his head. “You didn’t do anything.”
She watched as he walked up the stairs to the dorm rooms, listening to the door shut and the handle click into place. Her shoulders slumped and she caught the eyes of Marlene and Dorcas by the record player, seeing their sympathetic expressions.
It was okay if Remus didn’t like her back. She wouldn’t have a problem with that. It just hurt to know he didn’t want to do something as simple as dance with her. It hurt to know that he grimaced when he looked down at her. That the sight of her made him want to run away.
She suddenly felt sick. With a thud, she plopped down on the couch beside Sirius and Peter, picking up her mug to take a long sip. “Mind pouring me another, Siri?” Y/N asked, holding out her cup to him.
“Y/N, Moony really didn’t mean anything by it. He’s just confused,” Sirius tried to reassure her, but she only shook her glass, waiting for her drink. At least she could get so drunk she forgot about everything that happened. The raven haired boy poured her another shot.
“It’s okay. I don’t even know why I’m disappointed. We’re only friends.”
Peter looked at Sirius knowingly. Everyone knew except for her and perhaps Remus, but he was good at picking up on things. She didn’t want to be friends, but she couldn’t just ask him out. It was too intimidating.
“Listen, you’re a great girl. Any guy would be lucky to have you, you know that, right?” Sirius asked her, and Peter was quick to nod in agreement.
“I don’t like Remus.” That was a blatant lie.
“Well, if you did, don’t give up on him. He’s rough around the edges, but he really is a good guy.”
She knew he was a good guy. That’s why she fell for him in the first place. He was so kind and charming. Remus was so smart too, leaving her swoon whenever he tutored her in something she struggled with.
She tried to hide her expression, looking off to the floor away from the boys. Tears threatened to fall from her eyes, and she bit her lip to hide her quickened breaths. It was always hard accepting the fact that Remus didn’t like her, not in the way she liked him.
“Oh no, angel, please don’t cry,” Sirius pleaded, noticing the way her eyes had begun glistening with fresh tears. He raised his hand, one lifting her head softly while the other ran a thumb across her cheeks, brushing away the droplets that fell. “I promise, it’s going to be okay.”
“Then why does he do that?” She asked, quite pathetically. She appreciated Sirius for talking to her about this, and chose to keep her secret safe and sound. “He leads me on and then runs away. Does he not realize what he’s doing?” She wiped the tears from her eyes but they were quick to gather again. Remus had to make everything so difficult sometimes.
She was so confused in how she felt. On one hand, she absolutely, without a doubt, loved Remus Lupin with all her heart. On the other hand, she felt like giving up. Time and time again he made her feel special, made her feel loved and cared for, only for him to correct himself. He would leave her standing there, crestfallen and thinking she had done something wrong.
A sob escaped her lips, and she was quick to latch onto Sirius. Her hands clutched at the back of his shirt while she pressed her face into his collar. She just cried while he brushed down her hair and rubbed her back comfortingly. She could count on the Black to be there whenever something happened between her and his best mate.
“Y/N, you’re a catch if I’ve ever seen one. Don’t let ol’ Moony bring you down,” Peter tried to soothe her, reaching up to place a hand on her knee.
“He doesn’t deserve you, angel,” Sirius muttered against her head.
Despite his soothing, she kept crying until she’d run out of tears for the night. She bid Sirius a goodnight before heading into her dorm. She curled tightly into a ball once in the comfort of her own bed. In her hands was Remus’ sweater, which she hugged to her chest. She was such a dumbass for getting attached to an emotionally unavailable boy.
The worst part is, no matter what he did, she still loved him.
____
“You absolute prat! You’ve got to stop fucking with her feelings,” Sirius scolded after entering their dorm room and shutting the door so anyone left lingering in the halls or the common room couldn’t eavesdrop. He glared at his friend who laid in his bed with a pillow covering his head.
“Leave me alone, Pads,” the boy groaned, refusing to move the pillow from his head, instead hugging it tighter to his face. A part of him wished he could smother himself and make all of this end.
Sirius rolled his eyes, walking over to his own bed and sitting back against the headboard while his feet stretched toward the end of the bed. He crossed his arms over his chest. “You didn’t have to make her cry.”
“She cried?”
“Yeah, not that you stuck around to see it. She thinks you hate her. That you’re disgusted by her,” Sirius told him with a scowl. He was awfully protective of the girl, finding her shyness adorable and her excitement for the little things in life to be admirable. It sucked seeing her chasing after someone and having her heart broken time and time again.
He’d never tell Remus that Y/N had a crush on him. That wasn’t his place. However, he wouldn’t let Remus get away with treating her like shit while they were “just friends”.
Remus sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, finally tearing the pillow off his face and letting it drop to the floor. “I don’t know what to do.”
“Maybe bloody kiss her when you’re clearly thinking about it. Ever thought of that?”
“And if she doesn’t like me? Then what?”
Remus was still convinced Y/N had a thing for Sirius. She was always smiling when she was with him. She let him flirt with her all he wanted and he noticed the way her face flushed when he was particularly bold. He noticed them hanging out when no one else was around. He noticed all of it, and it hung over him like a storm cloud. Genuinely, it made him feel so isolated. His best mate and the only girl he’d ever really cared for like this, together doing Godric knows what.
“Then you go back to being friends. Does she seem like the judgemental type?”
“No, but it would be awkward.”
“Only if you make it awkward.”
Remus sighed deeply, rolling over on his side to face his friend, his head propped up in his palm. “It doesn’t matter anyway. I can’t be with her.”
Sirius already knew all about what Remus was talking about. He had droned on about it before, how he was so afraid of him being a werewolf and being in a relationship with anyone, much less Y/N. “Don’t start with the self-deprecating shit, mate. You know she doesn’t care if you’re a werewolf or not.” It was a pretty lousy excuse if you asked him. “She loves you, Moony.”
“She does not love me,” Remus argued back, confident in his reply, more confident than he was in most anything in the world. She loves you, he wanted to say. The thought was headache inducing, making him sick to the stomach.
And that was the end of it. No matter what Sirius said, it all went right through Remus. He was determined to keep this girl at arms’ length, even if it tore him up inside to do so. She was just so lovely. She plagued his every waking thought when she was in the room, or even when someone simply mentioned her. Yet, she didn’t care for him that way. They just happened to be friends.
Not to mention the boy was far from blind when it came to love, like the ones he read about in his novels. The looks and touches he’d seen between Y/N and his friend were remarkably full of love and care, something she didn’t have with him. If only Sirius could see that, maybe then he could be the one to make her happy. Instead, he was here lecturing him on how to make Y/N happy. Perhaps if he wasn’t such a flirt, none of this would even be a problem.
He just groaned into his pillow and shut himself out from the world around him, no longer responding to what Sirius had to say to him. He was done. He was done with all this nonsense. All this romance bullshit, no matter how much it made his heart race or the gears turn in his mind. He was done.
______
Only, that was harder said than done when seeing her in person after that night.
She continued to be lovely, friendly, normal - only now he could sense the waves of sadness and discomfort that poured off her person when the group hung out together.
Her heart ached since Remus ran away from her. He had done similar before, but she always forgave him. He was complicated. He was secretive with his emotions. That was one of many things she’d come to respect about him after knowing him for so many years.
She cried that night, and when the other girls came to bed, they comforted her. She didn’t have to tell them what happened. They already knew. It seemed like everyone around her knew about her crush on him.
But life goes on, and she woke up the next morning to the rest of the girls getting ready for class. She pinched her cheeks to bring some life into them, and watched as her smile turned up in the mirror, making sure it was as genuine as it usually was. She was a strong girl, and one incredibly handsome and charming boy was not going to bring her crumbling down. She’d done enough crying.
Sitting next to Remus at the table was far from comfortable, but she was able to do it. She just leaned a little bit further into Sirius’ side than she normally would, something that made Remus feel more defeated than anything. He had given up on pursuing her, almost entirely, only the remnants of his heart still yearning for her. As he watched the way she cuddled up on him, it wasn’t hard to see she found comfort in the raven haired boy.
He could only sigh to himself, dipping his spoon into his porridge for another depressing bite.
She also talked a bit more with James than she ever would in one sitting, with the two of them having so little in common. She took the time to compliment all the girls on their hair and makeup that morning. She talked to Lily about their Potions class that afternoon, and the book she had propped up in front of her. Anything to keep herself from having to discuss with Remus what happened that night before. Anything to avoid talking to him in general, actually.
Breakfast went by slowly, as did their Transfiguration class where Y/N sat in her normal seat beside her friend, who she desperately wanted to be more-than-a-friend. She tried to think of a way she could find herself escaping this terribly unfortunate situation involving unrequited love. She could confess to the boy on the off chance he actually did reciprocate, but that seemed highly unlikely.
She could try and find someone else to fancy for the rest of their seventh year, but she doubted that would happen. He was just so perfect, no one else would compare. No one looked like him, nor did they sound like him or smell the same. There was no one as intelligent as him besides sweet Lily, and she certainly wasn’t going to fancy the red headed girl.
The only option seemed to be just living with her crush until it naturally went away. As miserable as that suggestion seemed, it was the most sound of all her ideas.
She found herself so distracted that she didn’t even notice when McGonagall called on her, “Miss L/N, please do answer the question.”
The seconds passed like minutes and she found her mouth growing dry from embarrassment. How could she be so careless? She almost never zoned out during class, much less found herself being challenged by a professor. She wasn’t lovestruck like James, was she?
Just as she was about to admit defeat, Remus tapped the edge of his notebook. Written down was the word, “avifors spell” which she quickly found herself repeating aloud.
“Thank you. Please pay attention, everyone.”
An exhale of relief left her lips, and she peered over at Remus with grateful eyes. She mouthed a ‘thank you’ and he just nodded with a small smile.
She tried to ignore how he made her feel the rest of their day together. When they studied in the library because it was a Thursday and they weren’t going to break their schedule, she tried smothering the butterflies that fluttered. She felt his soft gaze trained on her as she stared down at her homework. She tried her hardest to swallow her gasp when he leaned over her shoulder, his face dangerously close to hers, pointing out her mistakes on the worksheet. She desperately wished she could ignore the smell of parchment and chocolate wafting off his body as he spoke to her.
“Y/N? Are you alright?” he asked, breaking her from her daze. She nodded, quickly marking the paper where he had questioned one of her answers. “We can stop for the day, if you want-”
“You’re probably right. I feel like my brain is totally fried from all this studying,” she replied quickly, shutting her textbook and setting her quill on the table beside her worksheets. She was dying to finish up this study session so she could crawl back into her bed and pretend that she didn’t spend the first half of the day with her massive crush who definitely didn’t like her back.
He furrowed a brow, having thought the day’s session had gone by quite fast. He didn’t like it. Usually she sat with him for a good hour or two just discussing the day, talking about books and gossip and whatever else she had on her mind. Instead, it seemed she was running away from him. He should have expected that though, knowing what he had done the night before.
Regardless, he packed up his belongings right alongside her, making sure the last of his inkwells was thoughtfully tucked away before motioning for her to follow him out into the hallways. With a ducked head, she followed him, not wanting to seem weird going her own way when they normally would walk back to the common room together. She tried to ignore the shivers that went down her spine when their fingers skimmed against each other walking side by side.
If she were brave, or maybe stupid, she would have reached out to hold his hand. She itched to touch him. To feel him pressed against her again like the night before when they danced together. God, she just wanted to hold his hand. It wasn’t crude or vulgar at all, but she felt so inappropriate - so wrong for wanting him when he clearly wasn’t interested in her.
Perhaps he could sense her trepidation, or maybe she was just very obvious in how uncomfortable she felt, but he cautiously approached the topic, “Darling?” he asked quietly, with all the sincerity and care he normally displayed.
She couldn’t deny the skip of her heart at the sweet nickname, one of many that he used for her. Whether she was his dove, love, or darling, it made her heart jump. “Yes, Remus?” she replied, stopping and turning to look back at him, craning her neck up to meet his eyes, his gorgeous eyes that caught the sunlight coming in from the windows, honey brown and golden.
“I can tell something is wrong,” he started, rubbing the back of his neck and fluffing up his hair nervously.
“Really, it’s okay-”
“No, it’s really not,” he said firmly, Sirius’ lecture from the night before running through his mind. He thought of her crying when he ran off to his dormitory, feeling like shit after being abandoned like that. He thought of her that morning at breakfast doing her best to ignore him, biting her lip to keep the frown from reaching her lips. He continued, “I’m so stupid. It wasn’t my intention to make you feel unwanted.”
Unexpectedly, Remus reached out, taking one of her delicate hands in his own, running a thumb along her knuckles. She stood there as calmly as she could, but her heart was beating a mile a minute and she prayed to Godric that he couldn’t tell from her expression. He was too busy worrying about his own racing heart and sudden dry mouth to notice anyway. “I was scared.”
She asked, so quiet it was a wonder he even heard her, “Scared of what?”
He took a deep breath before explaining himself, drawing her towards the corner of the corridor, away from prying eyes. She felt herself grow even more flushed, knowing they were tucked in this secluded little corner while he held her hand so carefully in his own. She had that familiar feeling creep up and sink its fangs into her, daring her to act on thoughts she shouldn’t be having. Thoughts that entailed reaching up on her tiptoes and pressing a kiss to his lips, squeezing her eyes shut tightly. Thoughts of grabbing his cheeks in her hands and pulling him down to meet her halfway.
The heavy grandfather clock at the end of the hall ticked as time slowly passed, and she waited with baited breath for him to reply.
“Scared of how much you mean to me. You’re my best friend, Y/N. I know you’re a smart girl, and you’re incredibly brave, but you know I have my problems…” he tried to say.
“Remus! Shush. You know that means nothing to me. You’ll always be my best friend no matter what.”
“Which is exactly why you’re blind to the reality that I am dangerous, and I don’t want you getting into harm’s way,” he argued back as she stared at him, her eyes glazed over with something he didn’t quite recognize. “I’m worried about you. I care about you so fucking much, Y/N.”
“But-”
“But, the more time you spend with me, the closer you get to seeing the worst parts of me. That’s what I’m scared of.” He paused, his chest lifting heavily and falling back down. “I need you to understand that. I-I need you, and I can’t keep you if I scare you away.” His words shook, and she felt his hands begin to shake as they held onto her own. She clutched him a bit tighter, trying to calm him down.
She swore her heart nearly stopped beating in her chest at his words, those desperate words that fell from his lips. It was almost like he was telling her he loved her. Almost.
But they were only best friends. He’d made that clear.
“I care about you, too, Remus. I’ll do whatever is best for you. That’s what I want.”
“What’s best for me is that you’re happy and safe.”
She flushed at his words, finding herself growing hot in the face and lowering her head to hide her flustered expression. He had such a way with words, one that made her positively swoon. How did he not notice? He was awfully charming and romantic for someone who seemingly refused to even try and date.
The words hung off his lips, waiting to fall out in the open after all this time. I love you, he wanted to say. I love you so fucking much it hurts, he wanted to cry. Yet, he couldn’t do it.
He peered over her shoulder at the walkway, catching sight of James and Sirius walking down the corridor towards them. He motioned in their direction, and quickly he dropped her hand, taking a modest step away from her. With confusion and hurt in her eyes, she looked back to him as the blood drained from her cheeks. Was he embarrassed to be close to her around his guy friends? Was holding her hand that serious of a crime that it warranted such abruptness?
Much to her displeasure, she was caught off guard when Remus seemingly bumped her in Sirius’ direction, actually causing her to stumble into the dark-haired boy and latch onto his arms to steady herself.
She turned back to peer at him, questioning what he was doing, only to find his eyes glued elsewhere. He stared at the broom that James held in his hands, the one he was excitedly talking about. His eyes were clearly just there so he could avoid her gaze, one that flashed with heartache. That boy sure had a way with breaking hearts, she thought, feeling herself beginning to fall limp against her other friend.
“Why hello, angel,” Sirius laughed, helping her regain her footing. The laughter from his mouth, however, was awkward, and his eyes flashed nervously between Remus and Y/N as they had come to do so often recently. He sensed the tension, and he noticed the sadness that plagued Y/N like a rain cloud perpetually above her head. “Not interrupting, are we?” he asked cautiously.
“No, we were just talking.” But he knew that was a lie. James seemed to be the only one oblivious to the situation at hand. She frowned, her eyes leaving Remus and lifting to find those of her concerned friend. “Hey, Sirius, James.”
“Hey, guys. We were just heading to the dining hall for lunch. You coming with?”
“Sure,” Y/N said, but Remus had other plans.
“Actually, I have somewhere I’ve got to be. I’ll see you at dinner though,” Remus said, waving to his friends as he took a few steps backward. The three of them watched him go, and when he finally turned the corner, Y/N let her shoulders drop heavily, a sigh leaving her lips. So much for the little moment they were having before.
He certainly had a habit of running away when she needed him there the most, didn’t he?
Part Four coming next week. (Honestly, as I write this I’m finding myself rooting for Sirius a bit ngl. Should I do two endings, one for Sirius and one for Remus perhaps?)

Black Dog Neighbour
Hi everyone ! have a great day/night hun <;3”
Thank you so much for your request, and I hope you like this! I didn’t do post-azkaban Sirius, because he doesn’t exist in my brain. I have been in denial for so long, the Potters are living their best lives, didn’t you know?!
Anyway, still went for post-Hogwarts and post-war Sirius, simply didn’t include anything referencing to Azkaban or… anything canon compliant, to be fair. But as per usual for me when it comes to this character…
Hope you like this! Tell me what you think!

Pairing: Sirius Black x reader
Warnings: A small warning for an ex being an arse and showing up drunk on your doorstep (there’s nothing violent, but you do physically push him away, so heads up on that, just in case). But the rest’s cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!
Summary: God, you hate that guy next door. Bloody annoying neighbour with his noisy motorcycle, his loud friends, his annoying laugh, his charming smile, his amazing hair, his effortless way to sport sexy leather jackets. He’s insufferable, you hate him to bits. The fact that he’s a talented wizard who can magically change into a dog to guard your door when your ex comes bothering you again will not change your first impression in the slightest, by the way. You still hate him to guts. Probably…

Sirius fucking Black.
Your neighbour, aka worst enemy, aka the person you despise the most on earth.
He is loud. He is annoyingly pretty. He is getting on your fucking nerves... again!
Of course, it is Friday night, which means that his stupid friends are over for a “boys night”. What a scam…
In consequence, you are currently casting sound-proofing spells all over your walls in an attempt to shush their idiotic laughs. And especially Sirius’s; his unmistakable bark-like laughter, loud and boisterous and absolutely prone to draw a grin from your face even if you don’t mean to. By Agrippa’s hat, you will soon either cut his throat or call for an auror. Or maybe you could burst into his apartment and shout into his face just so he can see how bloody annoying that is. Or kissing him to shut him up sounds like a plan, too…
You shake your head, grinning at your own genius idea. Sirius and his friends are being rudely loud again, when you have already told them a thousand times – which is to say every Friday for the last six months, since Sirius moved in the apartment next to yours – that the walls in this old building of Diagon Alley are too thin, that you can hear everything going on in Sirius’s apartment despite sound-proofing spells… and that they need to keep it down past 11pm because you have work the next day. The absolute dread of working in retails does not, by any means, spare the Wizards and Witches of this world…
You look through your apartment for the object that would make the most noise. You give a few items a try, but settle for the good old pan and spoon. Ha, what precious allies these two are, never failing you.
You add a little spell to amplify sounds – just for good measure – find some earplugs, and then proceed to bang the shit out of that pan, right by your common wall with Sirius’s apartment.
It goes on for five full minutes before you manage to catch the quietened sound of something against your door…
And sure enough, when you stop and take your earplugs out, someone is banging at your door.
“Y/N!” a voice that you easily recognize shouts. “STOP THIS FUCKING NOISE!”
You open the door wide, and have to bend to the side to avoid Sirius’s fist as it misses the door.
“Merlin! Sorry! You’re okay? I didn’t touch you, right?” Sirius asks with anger instantly replaced with worry.
“I have amazing reflexes.”
And anger is back into his dark grey eyes again...
“What the fuck are you doing in there?! Are you mental?!”
“I don’t know, Sirius. I didn’t notice anything over the cacophony of your friends shouting into my ears all night!”
His jaw clenches, and you hate yourself for noticing the trembling of the muscle there, and finding it terribly attractive…
“And you had to make all this ruckus instead of simply walking three meters to my door and nicely ask us to shut our mouths because…?”
“Because I’ve asked you dozens of times, this has been going on for fucking months, Sirius!”
He rolls his eyes, and Merlin do you want to punch him straight across the jaw… his very sharp, very pretty jaw…
“We’re just having a nice evening…”
“And I am trying to sleep!”
“It’s barely midnight!”
“I work tomorrow, you asshole!”
“Ermm… guys?”
“WHAT?!” you both exclaim, turning to face a shy-looking Remus.
“Sorry about the noise, Y/N. We’ll be more careful next time. We’ll leave for the evening.”
“You don’t have to leave…” Sirius complains, but James is already walking out, helping a drunk Peter to cross the corridor.
“It’s late, anyway. Lily’s gonna worry, I was supposed to be home twenty minutes ago,” James argues, and Sirius has to yield.
“Alright, see you on Sunday, then!” he shoots his friends a grin, and the group waves at you.
You rudely ignore them, crossing your arms before your chest. And as Sirius turns back to you, his frown is icy and he quickly matches your stance.
“You’re such a pain in my ass, Y/N…”
“And you’re a jerk.”
“Asshole.”
“You’re insufferable, you know that?”
“You’re one to talk!”
“Oh, you talk plenty enough for both of us. And loudly so!”
Before he can reply, you’ve stepped back into your apartment and slammed the door.
You hear him pestering after you for a moment, then nothing, and finally a door slamming.
Well, that went well…
Tumblr media
You are in trouble.
Big… huge trouble.
Your ex has just stepped into your shop, and you don’t know how to react.
You didn’t break up in a horrendous way, on the contrary! He wanted the two of you to remain friends, and you simply didn’t, worried that you wouldn’t be able to get over each other if you stayed in touch. And by the look he gave you as he stepped inside your shop ten minutes ago, and the many glances he’s thrown at you since, you’re pretty sure that you were right about this.
It's not like your relationship was terrible, by any means. Josh was nice, reliable, but also… not for you. You didn’t have much in common, at the end of the day, and if his personality and looks were nice, it was hard to build a lasting relationship on… nothing. It was for the best that you called it quits.
And as if your day needed any darkening, Sirius Black chooses this very moment to step into your shop. You don’t wait for him to aim for the counter to take out a large pouch in which you have gathered all the ingredients for his friend’s monthly brew. He smiles at the sight, moves towards you. And you hate yourself for the leap your heart makes as he comes closer.
“Hi, Y/N.”
“Hi.”
It’s the first time you speak to each other since the ‘spoon and pan incident’, and you both hesitate. How are you supposed to act now? Apologise for being petty and kind of a dick? Ask for his apology for being a dick? Act like nothing happened?
“Thanks for Remus’s stuff,” Sirius says, voice quieter than usual, gentle, asking for a truce.
Outside, it’s snowing, winter claiming the streets of London, and there are little snowflakes caught in Sirius’s hair. It looks lovely.
All of a sudden, you’re longing for some eggnog, and some pumpkin pie.
His fingers are cold when they meet yours, tips brushing over your knuckles as he picks up the bag, and you hate your own heart for stammering.
“No problem. You know the drill,” you tentatively smile, while Sirius hands you some silvery Sickles.
“I would also need pearl dust, please. Here’s the amount.”
He hands you a parchment with quantities written on it, four small packages to be prepared separately.
“How many hearts do you intend to break with so many love potions?” you joke, turning around to get to work.
The brass scale is set on a small table, pushed right against the wall, behind the counter. It is an easy task for a professional like you, measuring quickly while Sirius laughs.
“No one, thankfully,” he replied.
“Oh… some Amortentia, perhaps? Trying to figure out who your crush likes?”
“No… nothing like that. It’s the properties for invisibility that I’m looking for.”
“If you plan on breaking into Gringotts, I don’t want to know.”
Again, a loud laugh. And you wish you could hold back your smile, but you can’t, the sound is too infectious for that.
You’ve forgotten that your ex is here, you’re reminded of his presence only when you turn back towards Sirius and he’s standing right behind your tall neighbour, a bag of potion ingredients in his hands.
You avert your eyes, and Sirius frowns at the sight. He glances over his shoulder, spots your ex, but says nothing. You only notice how he tightens his hold on the pouch.
“Pearl dust’s quite expensive,” you tell him, handing him the phials, before announcing the price.
“That’s alright.”
He hands you the galleons, takes the vials, but doesn’t step away just yet.
“You… you’re okay?” he asks, and you’re not sure what to do with his expression. It’s somewhere between annoyance and genuine concern.
“Yeah, sure.”
He nods, like he’s disappointed. He’s not bringing up The Incident, and so you won’t either.
“Right, good day.”
He turns in a hurry, not waiting for your answer, but you notice the way he throws a look back before stepping out into the street, snow falling over his dark coat and dark hair again. You hate how your eyes linger on his frame until he’s out of sight, walking down the busy street, but you can’t help it…
“Hello, Y/N.”
You’re brought back to Earth as your ex speaks, and you turn to him, your smile turning from genuine to polite.
“Hi, Josh.”
“How are you?”
“Good! Do you need anything else?” you ask, pointing at the ingredients he’s put on the counter.
“Huh… no, nothing else.”
“That makes two Galleons, 5 Sickles and 3 Knuts, please.”
He hands you some money, and you hand him his change. You see him hesitating, before diving.
“Look, I… I came here hoping to see you.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, I… I’ve been meaning to tell you. I’ve been thinking a lot lately, about what happened, and… Look, I know I could have done better when it came to us. And I thought… perhaps… if you were willing to give me another chance…”
“Josh…”
“Just… hear me out...”
“No. I’m sorry, but no. We… we were not compatible, that’s all. I like you, you’re nice, but… It won’t work between us.”
Slowly, he nodded, apparently defeated. And when another client cleared their throat behind him, he finally left.
What a mess of a morning…
Tumblr media
It is Friday night, and the Marauders are keeping it down. You are surprised by it, but you can only praise these men for being, for once, well-behaved. 11:30, as you slip under the covers, ready for some well-deserved rest before waking up too early to open the shop in the morning. You are ready to fall into Morpheus’s arms and abandon yourself to slumber when someone knocks on your door.
You ignore the sound for a while, but it starts again, and again…
And you thought Sirius was making some efforts. You were ready to commit murder…
You stand up, grab a bathrobe and walk to the door, ready to throw hands with Sirius at this point. Only… only, when you actually open the door, it’s not Sirius who’s facing your wrath.
It’s Josh.
“What… What are you doing here?” you ask, too stunned to think about being polite. “It’s almost midnight.”
But then he looks up at you, and you notice at once that he’s been drinking. His eyes are glimmering, he sways slightly before finding back his balance…
“Josh…”
“Y/N, I… I know that now is not the time, but… please, give me another chance. Please…”
“Josh, we’ve talked about this. Us… it’s over. We’re not getting back together. I’m sorry.”
“But I can try and be better. I’ll be better, let me show you.”
You push him off when he staggers forward, trying to hold you.
“Josh! Stop it!” you raise your voice, trying to get him to let go.
“Please…”
“I said no! Get off!”
He’s finally letting go, but doesn’t take a step back. Instead, he leans against your doorframe, not stepping inside, but making it impossible for you to simply go back in and close the door.
“Josh! Go away! I’m sorry, but this is over between us. You have to leave me alone!”
“But I don’t want to! Y/N!”
“Hey!”
You’re both distracted by the new voice that comes shouting through the corridor. Sirius is standing before his front door, wearing a Queen t-shirt and some dark sweatpants, in what you guess his is nightly outfit. Still, when he comes nearer, hair tied in a bun, glowering, he looks intimidating, tattoos all over his arms on full display, traces of ink peeking above the collar of his t-shirt.
You think for a second that he’s going to make a scene because of how noisy you are right now, not ironic at all given his habits of messing your sleeping schedule, and you’re ready to get angry at him, because this truly is the last thing you need tonight, when…
“You leave her the fuck alone!”
You’re too stunned to react when Sirius comes to stand right by your side.
“She told you to fuck off, so you fuck off!”
“Who the fuck are you?” Josh replied, words a little slurred.
“Her boyfriend,” Sirius lies, but it works wonders, as Josh becomes suddenly very pale. “Now, you fuck off, or I’ll throw you out of the building.”
“You? With him?” Josh asks as he turns to you, and you feel pity for the pain in his eyes, but you don’t regret leaving him.
“Yeah. He’s my boyfriend. Now, please, Josh… leave me alone.”
But he shakes his head.
“I can’t. I can’t. I still love you…”
Sirius looks at you, but you shake your head.
“You have to leave me alone and move on.”
“No… I… I’ll come back later…”
Sirius notices your worry, it almost looks like fear, and he doesn’t hesitate when he grabs Josh by the collar.
“You listen to me now, dickhead,” Sirius growls, it’s almost animalistic, and you’re frozen by this threatening tone of his. “If you set a foot in this building again, if you go see her at her shop, if you so much as breathe in her direction or step in the street she’s in, I will come for you, and I will make sure you can never bother her again. Do you get that?”
“You’re bluffing.”
Sirius grins, something twisted and terribly dark, and even you shiver when he speaks again, voice low and terrible.
“I fought for the Order during the war. I’m a Black. Trust me, you don’t want to fuck with me.”
Slowly, Josh nods, struggling to swallow.
“So… will you leave her alone?”
Again, Josh nods.
“Good boy. Now get the fuck out of here.”
He’s barely released Josh that he’s sprinting down the stairs, stumbling and catching himself against the wall, before disappearing.
But you don’t see that. You’re staring at Sirius, and seem unable to look away.
“You’re alright?”
You’re startled by the softness Sirius’s voice is now wearing, such a stark contrast with the threatening tone he wore a minute ago.
“Y/N? You’re okay? He didn’t hurt you, right?”
“What? No… no, I’m fine! He just… showed up and I couldn’t get rid of him.”
“Yeah, I figured.”
“Thank you,” you whisper as he gets closer.
“You’re sure you’re alright?”
“Yeah, just… a little shaken, I think.”
Slowly, Sirius nods.
“Hey, no need to worry, okay? I’ll keep an eye out tonight. He won’t bother you again. And if he does, in the coming days or weeks, and I’m not around, then you come and tell me. I’ll give him a good fright, and he’ll leave you alone.”
“Thanks but… why would you do that for me? You hate me.”
Sirius chuckles at that, raising an eyebrow.
“I don’t hate you. You’re annoying, but I don’t hate you.”
“Oh…”
His touch is infinitely gentle when he rests his hand on your arm.
“You can go back to sleep. Don’t worry, he won’t bother you again tonight. I promise.”
Slowly, you nod, a little too stunned to complain or argue or discuss what has just happened. Instead, you walk back to your apartment, lock the door, and go back to bed, thinking about the way Sirius’s hands looked gentle without his rings…
Tumblr media
You’re in a hurry this morning. Your brain has not finished to process everything that has happened last night, but this will have to wait. You must rush to the shop, and you can’t find your bloody wand…
Ha! There! What is it doing under the couch? Never mind, you need to hurry, and you need to hurry now!
Only, when you open the front door, you almost trip onto a large black door sleeping on your threshold. A huge black dog, as a matter of fact.
“What in Merlin’s beard…?!”
His ears perk up at the sound of your voice, and he looks up at you with dark grey eyes that remind you of someone…
But it’s impossible, of course. That must be his dog, though. Since when does Sirius has a dog though?!
The animal slowly stands, a real giant, all dark fur and intimidating growls, until he’s shaken some sleep off its frame, and then he looks up at you, as if expecting a command.
“Hi,” you say, feeling foolish, but finding nothing better to say.
The dog merely comes closer, slowly, ears down in submission, as if he’s worried to scare you away. You hold out your hand, and he hurries to rub his snout into it, licking your fingers.
You giggle at the sensation.
“You look intimidating, but you’re a good boy, aren’t you?”
He barks in agreement, and you give him scratches as a reward.
“Who do you belong to, huh? Are you Sirius’s dog?”
The dog merely licks your fingers again.
“You look the part, at least. You fit the motorcycle-and-leather-jackets aesthetic.”
A few scratches more, and you finally remember that you are running late…
“Shoot!”
You lock the door, hurry towards the stairs. But you stop the dog when he tries to follow.
“No, no, no! I’m going to work, you stay here. I’m sure Sirius will be back soon. You stay here.”
The dog blinks, but sits anyway, letting you go.
For the whole trip to the store, you wonder who this dog belongs to, and who would let him sleep outside like this. If he really did belong to Sirius, he would hear about this…
Tumblr media
Your day is a weird one.
After arriving almost late, but not quite, you spend your morning being busy and running around the store looking for the right ingredients for various potions and clients. And yet, several times during your shift, you feel someone looking at you.
The first time, it’s Sirius, who’s squinting on the other side of the glass door. He looks away the second your eyes land on him, and you’re almost certain that he blushes, although you didn’t think it to be possible to make Sirius Black blush.
The second time, it’s the black dog again, who remains sitting by the door under the falling snow for about ten minutes before leaving.
The third time, it’s the dog again, you see him being petted by a customer as she walks out of the shop.
But if the dog belongs to Sirius, then you guess that he’s been around several times throughout the day, which seems odd. Also, you want to chastise him for leaving the animal alone in the cold for extended periods of time throughout the day. Is he heartless?!
So, as you go home that night, you leave your coat in your apartment before heading to Sirius’s.
He answers on the second knock.
“Oh! Hi, Y/N!” he grins a welcome at you. “Need anything?”
“Yeah… I wanted to talk to you, if you have a minute.”
He merely nods, moving to let you inside.
You’ve been here a couple of times before, but you still appreciate the warm atmosphere of the large space that forms his living room. A huge Gryffindor flag is hung across the wall on the right, while windows let you see falling snow over the roofs of Diagon Alley on the opposite side of the room. A large chimney surrounded by comfortable armchairs and sofas, along with a soft red carpet seem to call for you.
“So? What can I do for you, Y/N?”
You turn to him again while he points at the sofa, silently inviting you to sit, but you remain standing. You cross your arms, and he frowns at the sight.
“Where’s your dog?”
Your tone is sharper now, and his frown only deepens, brows knitted together.
“My what?”
“Your dog. Huge. Black. Looks like he could bite my throat off.”
“I don’t have a dog.”
“Really? He’s been following me around all day. He was on my threshold this morning…”
“…Y/N…” he tries to interrupt you, but you don’t let him.
“No! Listen… Thank you for what you did last night. I was really… Thank you. Josh wouldn’t leave and you were most definitely helpful. But let’s be clear, I’m a big girl, and I can take care of myself! I don’t need your protection or anything, got it?”
You wonder why he’s smiling now, but he is all the same.
“Got it. Was just trying to be helpful.”
“You were.”
“Good.”
“Good. But your good action doesn’t mean that I’m going to accept any harm coming to this cute dog of yours!”
“I thought he wanted to bite your throat off.”
“He looked like he could. He was pretty sweet, though.”
“Hmmm…”
“Anyway… what’s wrong with you!? Leaving him outside all night and then in the street while it was snowing!?”
“Y/N, relax. I don’t have a dog, let me explain.”
“Then whose dog is it? Cause we have to find his owner, I’m going to throw hands!”
Sirius laughs, his usual, bark-like laugh, and your puzzled by the sound. It resembles a bark even more than usual.
Sirius heaves a sigh, shakes his head, apparently hesitating, but eventually, he takes a step closer.
“You have to promise me that you won’t tell anyone about this.”
“Why?”
“Because if you do, I might be arrested.”
Your eyes grow round.
Oh dear… the…
“…Potion. The potion! You’ve done something illegal with it!”
Sirius laughs again.
“The pearl dust you mean? It’s just a trick for my godson, for Christmas. How do you think the presents get under the tree without anyone carrying them in? The fellow is a rascal, standing watch all night to catch Santa red-handed. We need to get more and more creative each year. No, don’t worry, it’s nothing like that.”
“Oh… but then… what are you talking about?”
“Do you promise that you won’t tell?”
“Have you killed someone?”
“Of course not!”
“I don’t know, you were pretty… scary last night.”
“Did I scare you?”
“No… but Josh was ready to faint.”
He laughs again at that.
“I haven’t harmed anyone.”
“Okay… then, I promise.”
Sirius hesitates some more, before warning you not to freak out. You don’t have time to question him though, he’s already transforming into…
“… the black dog!”
You gasp at the sight, but you don’t back away when Sirius approaches under his animagus form. Instead, you reach out for him, giving him a few scratches between his ears, making him wiggle his tail happily.
“Oh wow… you’re an animagus! This is beautiful…”
He laughs as he changes back into human, the sound still somewhere close to a growl.
“Am I a good boy, then?” he teases, making you laugh. “No need to call for the animal welfare…”
“But… what were you doing around the shop today? And last night? Did you sleep on the porch?”
Sirius averts his eyes, and you have to double-check, but you’re certain that he is blushing right now.
“Ha, that… I didn’t mean to look like a creep or anything. But I… I was worried your ex would come back. Just wanted to check on you, ‘s all. I didn’t follow you around or anything! I just… went to check that you were alright at the shop a few times.”
“Why?”
He looks up at you with a slight frown, as if it is obvious, as if you’re stupid for not guessing.
“Because… I was worried about you.”
“About me?”
“Is it so surprising?”
“You hate me.”
“Again, I don’t hate you. You’re simply annoying the shit out of me. I like it, actually.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh.”
You blink, trying to make sense of all this, and Sirius looks at you with amusement.
“Is that why you were quiet last night? To not bother me?”
“Oh, the boys weren’t here. Busy week. We’ll be back at being insufferable next Friday.”
You roll your eyes at that, but Sirius laughs.
“I’m joking! I understand, okay? We’re too loud. We’ll keep it down from now on.”
“Right, okay…”
He bit his lip, ran a hand through his hair, in what you guess is shyness. God, you would have never thought to use this adjective to describe him. His rings catch the warm light of the fire burning in the hearth as he moves his fingers through his hair.
“Look, I… I’m sorry for the other night. Actually… for all the other nights. We’ll be more careful next time,” he says, and you raise an eyebrow in surprise.
You never thought you would hear an apology from him, even less so an earnest one, and yet…
“Thank you, Sirius. I’m sorry, too. It was petty and uncalled for.”
“No, you… you were right.”
He heaves a frustrated sigh, runs a hand through his long dark curls again, rebel strands falling before his eyes. You hold tightly onto the sleeve of your hoodie, refraining the sudden urge to push the curls away from his face, brush them behind his ear…
“Look, I… I don’t want us to be on bad terms,” Sirius goes on. “Could I make up for being a dickhead by buying you some fancy Christmas drink? My treat. As a token of good faith and a sign for peace in our building?”
He offers you his open palm, and you shake hands with a smile adorning both of your faces.
“Deal.”
“Any afternoon free this week?”
“Wednesday?”
“Then, I’ll buy you the fanciest cocoa I can find. And even some pumpkin pie, if you’re nice.”
“Sounds good.”
You’re reluctant to pull away but have to let go of his hand.
“Actually… scratch that,” Sirius shakes his head. “Would you go on a date with me?”
Your eyes grow round.
“A date? With you?”
“Yeah. On Wednesday?”
“But… with you?”
“Don’t act so surprised. You really think I play bodyguard for just anybody?”
You laugh at that, you can’t help it, even if you’re still quite stunned by the whole situation.
You weight your options, but then you look at him again, and the answer you want to give is obvious, even if he gets on your nerves all the bloody time…
“Okay. A date. On Wednesday.”
He grins, bright and infectious.
“Great! Awesome!”
“Great.”
“Great.”
You remain staring at each other for a moment, both of you trying to hide your excitement, until you finally clear your throat.
“I should…” you begin, pointing at the door.
“Sure… busy day?”
“You can’t imagine.”
“Hmm…”
You hurry towards the door, feeling overwhelmed by his nearness.
“See you on Wednesday then!” he calls after you as you reach for your own door.
“Sure! But it better be the best hot chocolate I’ve drunk, or I’ll ask for a refund!”
He laughs, and when you turn one last time towards him, Sirius is leaning against his doorframe, staring at you with a grin on his lips and mischief painted all over his features. He winks, and your heart skips several beats.
“Oh, don’t worry. You won’t regret this.”

mattheo riddle, f1 ferrari superstar, is officially back on the market. he has announced his split from evelyn swann after 4 years of dating. he went onto instagram (via mattheoriddle) to say, "good morning everyone. evelyn and i have decided to part ways and stay close friends. we have shared many many amazing memories together, and she will always carry a piece of my heart with her. she deserves the very best, and i was not able to do so due to my racing career.
amidst of this, i will continue to focus on my racing career and hope to be better.
thank you, evelyn for everything."
swann (via @lynnieswann) also released a statement on her instagram: "mattheo and i decided to end our relationship and continue to stay good friends. these last four years were filled with unforgettable memories. i will continue to support his endeavors from afar. he was an amazing person. thank you for everything <3"
close insiders have said despite the good endnotes shown on their instagram stories that the relationship was far far from perfect. it was said that riddle would continuously string swann along, leaving her for long periods of time without any words said before coming back to her with extravagant gifts. it is evident through past instagram stories of swann that riddle loves to shower her with expensive gifts and nights out.
more insider comments have said that riddle's feelings for swann seemed to fizzle out around their 3rd year of dating, but he stayed due to swann's significant investment within the team from her family's technology company. though, there has not been any evidence of this.
mattheo riddle is a formula one driver for scuderia ferrari. evelyn swann is a fashion model/influencer, as well as the daughter of the multimillionaire technology company, swanntech, founders, liam and kate swann.

scrolling through the endless articles about high-class breakups, celebrity gossip, and the occasional helpful news, the objective of finishing your art piece was lost. attempting to start as soon as possible, but the energy and creativity did not want to translate on the canvas. though, the silence was interrupted with a thud of the front door closing.
"i was gone for a couple of hours and not even a sketch is on your canvas," your roommate and best friend, emilia scotts, chuckled as she hung up her coat.
"easier for you to say, the random pull of the prompt, 'fast life,' seems so hard. like, where do i even start?" you huffed, tossing your phone to the side.
she shrugged before plopping herself next to you on the couch, "you've been going at this for like the past two days. i'm pretty sure the prompt doesn't even matter, the rubric just wanted you to capture a moment in oil paint."
"the problem is i can't think of anything," you pursed your lips, dropping your head into her shoulder.
"what about this? i'll help you with your project next week if you come with me in monaco. an hour flight away in my private jet," the idea of leaving your art project behind at current was all it took for her to convince you.
emilia was a monegasque socialite. her high class of being the daughter of the chief financial officer of a multimillionaire technology company led to being an eligible resident of country. though, her parents had sent her off to boarding school, lenox academy, which led you both to meeting. though, not as prestige as being an offspring of a chief financial officer of a global technology company, your parents stayed afloat through their success in health care management.
despite a long term friendship, you had not a clue of emilia's friends and acquaintances in monaco. assuming that the experience would be similar to what you see in her stories of the parties in monaco: calm, refined, and classy, you would be able to bask in relaxation, but it is the exact opposite.
the party of an unnamed host in a penthouse. the first ten minutes upon entering the event was emilia hauling you around the floor, introducing you to her acquaintances. some were familiar from your family, some were only familiar due to how much emilia loves to gossip with the amount of receipts on her phone. though, the more you looked around, the more faces you recognized from being headlined on news article from actors, musicians, athletes.
"she has a way with talking to people, that's for sure," lisette commented. according to emilia, she was a friend of the person hosting, but the amount of names that she had mentioned fell through your ears.
"it's a double edged sword of her friendliness, one day she'll be buddy-buddy with them but gets the career-ending dirt on them. i don't know how she does it," you sipped on the alcohol, slightly gagging at the potentness of it. a reminder to not get that the blue bottle.
"tell me about it..." lisette chuckled before nodding her head to some other random people that entered the party. she chugged her cup empty before tossing it into the trash, " i see some people that i need to say hi to. i'll be back hopefully, you gonna be alright?"
"don't worry about it. there are some people here that i know that'll let me hang around if i just walk up to them," you waved her off.
there were truth in your words, but they were not in your line of sight anymore from where you were standing. emilia was absolutely no where to be found. tossing away the half-filled cup, the penthouse looked large enough to explore around. the paintings and art near the entrance seemed to be more interesting than the thumping bass of mediocre music.
your shoulders dropped, letting out a tired sigh. never doing this again. exploring the hallway of small sculptures and large paintings drowned the tones and lightened the slightly dim lights. fast life. you pulled your phone out, snapping pictures of the art pieces and its details. though even from a distance, you captured a couple of pictures of the party, figured it might be useful.
murmurs were heard as you leaned closely to the painting, figuring out the brush strokes and the fine details. though, a call of your name was heard. looking to the direction, you found your lost friend handing a phone back to a man, allowing you to smile in relief of your savior.
"emilia, guess what. i think i have a gist of what i could do for my art project," you called out to her. though, you accidentally brushed into the male that she was just talking to, in which you paid not much mind to, muttering out a small apology in french.
"really, that sounds great. since we're here, i got us passes to the monaco f1 race. i know someone in one of the teams that can help with the photography aspect. i think that could help with your project, y'know fast life."
"actually? sounds great, to be honest."
Tumblr media
"do you know this girl?"
mattheo was skimming through the pictures that enzo had shared with him from the party. there was a female in the background, admiring the art gallery on the wall. though, he admired more of the way she lit up talking about the details of the paintings from when he had turned around.
"no, mate, she looks familiar though. i do know the girl that she was talking to, emilia scotts, the girl who took the pictures of us," enzo looked up briefly before returning to his digital camera.
he hummed in response. a small smile on his lips as he remembered the way she accidentally bumped into him. the smell of a fresh and clean yet sweet scent distinct from the musky scent of the party. "do you think you can find her on instagram, somehow?"
"already did. her name is y/n l/n, if i recall, i think her parents own or manage within the healthcare field. the last name sounded too familiar," enzo muttered in concentration, trying to remember anything related to this girl.
mattheo's phone vibrated in his hand, seeing the instagram notification from enzo. pulling down to see what was sent, it was a link to your profile. he immediately clicked on it, there were not many followers, assuming that you opted for a much quieter lifestyle. though, you intently looking at the art in the background of the pictures made more sense seeing that you added that you were an art major. upon stalking more, he found your art-based instagram and found that you were an exchange university student studying in france for a year.
"i reckon that you aren't planning to go after her, mattheo. i thought you were focusing on your racing career," enzo said, mischief laced in his tone.
"''m not, just curious," he tossed his phone to the side, head perking up to the bathroom door closing to see theodore drying his hair from his shower.
"what did i miss?" theodore questioned the silence, as well as enzo's smirk, knowing that someone's mind was either up to no good or he had something to share.
"nothing, just seeing how long mattheo's eligible bachelor streak lasts," enzo chuckled, causing theodore to look at mattheo with an amused face.
mattheo scoffs at this, "you both think lowly of me, i swear."
"why shouldn't we? you broke up with evelynn because she couldn't handle you being toxic, and you also say you want to focus on your racing career," theodore put air quotations around toxic after tossing his hair towel on the wooden chair. he leaned back with his hands behind his head, "is she cute, at least?"
"remember the girl that bumped into me at the party earlier?"
"you didn't even see her face. there's no way you're breaking your week and a half of being single with a half of an interaction. not even," theodore appalled at the confession while enzo broke out into a fit of laughter. "you're on some joke things, absolutely not."
mattheo eyed both in a deadpan expression. wow, hilarious, even.
a coughing fit emerged from enzo as he tried to calm down, taking in breathing exercises in between coughs, "if it helps, not saying i would condone you for immediately rebounding after a 4 year relationship. i requested passes for emilia, so they'll mainly be in the mclaren paddock, but i can assume since her dad is a sponsor, she can probably request to walk around past mclaren. a chance to maybe or maybe not talk to your bump in the park."
"okay, enzo, not your finest joke." theodore commented.
mattheo sought pass the backhanded comment, but it was too soon. that he could agree on, but introducing himself and leaving an impression was not too soon. not when he feels the strings of his heart tug thinking about the small details of you, even if it was just for a moment.

Clumsy, Clumsy ~ George Weasley
This is part two of Is It Still Punishment if It Was Worth It?, so be sure to read that first!
Warnings: bullying
Word count: 2.6k
Tumblr media
“Don’t make the mistake of forgetting your essay on Angel’s Trumpet Draught for next class,” Snape said in his cool snarl, the dim shadows of the potions classroom throwing sinister shadows onto his face. “I expect no less than 24 inches of parchment.” After letting his words sink in, he sat at his desk. “Dismissed.”
The other Potions N.E.W.T.s students shoved their textbooks into their bags, chatter filling the air as they filed out of the chairs, leaving their cauldrons where they were.
As I slowly placed my ink bottle into my book bag, I kept my eyes on Cassius Warrington, a massive Slytherin in my year. He had a handsome face, to be sure, but it was his recently updated status as a member of the Inquisitor Squad that I cared about.
Before my detention with Umbridge, I didn’t concern myself with the Inquisitor Squad. Their blatant Slytherin favoritism added with my natural rule-following tendencies made any concern of them irrelevant. But now, thanks to my detention last night, I’d been thrust into the spotlight, and I couldn’t count on that combination any longer. I couldn’t rely on them to simply take away House points either, because taking points away from Slytherin would punish them as much as it would me. They would likely find other, more creative avenues of punishment.
“Y/L/N,” said a cold voice.
“Yes, Professor Snape?” I said, looking up to see the potions master looming next to me.
“Do you have a reason for loitering in my classroom?”
I immediately put my bag strap over my arm, gathering my parchment and my textbook into my arms. “No, sir, sorry, sir.” I ducked my head and shuffled out of the classroom, subtly glancing both ways before following the rest of the students up the stairs to the Great Hall for lunch.
I only made it five steps.
BANG!
I fell forward, only managing to catch myself before my nose hit the edge of a stair. The contents of my book bag, however, were not so lucky. The thuds of my books, the flip of my rolls of parchment, and the crash of my inkpot created a symphony of chaos, but the only encore was laughter.
“Clumsy, clumsy,” said a gruff voice.
I looked up into the leering face of Warrington. Cheeks burning, I reached for my wand to clean up the mess and hurry past, but it’d been in my book bag and was now likely among the mess.
“Don’t go and do anything stupid,” warned the voice of Pansy Parkinson, who flanked Warrington on one side with her arms crossed and her nose in the air while Gregory Goyle stood on Warrington’s other side, a menacing smile on his face.
I lifted my hands, showing I meant no harm.
Warrington’s mouth spread, revealing his perfectly aligned teeth with such malevolence, he looked like a bloodthirsty beast. “Aren’t you going to clean up your mess?” Pansy giggled, looking thrilled at the prospect of watching me collect my stuff.
They wanted to see me humiliated?
Fine.
When one’s greatest care isn’t pride, it costs nothing to grovel.
Staying on my hands and knees, I grabbed my empty book bag. My copy of Magical Drafts and Potions had fallen open to reveal a picture of Arsenius Jigger, the author. I reached out for it. A black dress shoe nudged it out of my reach. I crawled forward another step, reaching again, and again it was pushed out of reach, this time accompanied by derisive laughter.
The third time, the black dress shoe didn’t intervene, allowing me to pick up my potions textbook. After hesitating, I picked up A Guide to Advanced Transfiguration without any intervention from my spectators. And my rolls of parchment. And the few wayward quills.
Soon, the only thing on the stairs beside my knees was the puddle of ink that was gradually flowing down to the bottom of the staircase. If I could just find my wand, I could clean it up with the Scouring charm.
I looked up to see Warrington twirling a thin hickory stick between his fingers.
My wand.
“Oh, d’you want this back?” Warrington asked, feigning as if he’d just realized what he was playing with.
A show, I reminded myself, give them a show. “Please,” I said, infusing my voice with panic. I considered making my chin tremble but decided that was the wrong kind of pathetic to pretend to be.
My wand froze. “Clean up the ink first.”
Mimicking desperation, I looked down at the puddle, as if I hadn’t the faintest idea what to do. Then, I slid my cloak off my shoulders, dabbing at the black cloud. The house elves would be able to clean the ink easily, it was only a momentary situation. I was thankful I left my potion ingredients in the potions room, otherwise it might be frog livers that I was cleaning instead of ink.
Finally, I stood at the bottom of the stairs, holding my dripping cloak with one hand and my bag with the other, looking up at the deviant expressions far above me. “Can…can I have my wand back?” I asked timidly.
“Put your cloak back on.”
I lowered my gaze to the floor to contain my glower at Pansy’s order. Slowly, I set down my bag and threaded my arms through the arms of my cloak. Looks like the house elves would be cleaning my cardigan and skirt as well. I looked up at Warrington again with as pitiful an expression as I could muster.
Warrington’s black dress shoe slid forward. “Kiss it.”
He wanted me to kiss his shoe? I looked down at the article in question. The dress shoes were fairly clean, even if they were clearly polished. The momentary discomfort of the taste of shoe polish in my mouth was tame compared to what I expected them to do, so I knew that wasn’t all he was planning.
If anything, it was highly likely that when I got my face close enough to Warrington’s foot, he’d kick in my nose.
Grimacing, I leaned forward, already brainstorming which spell would be best to set a broken nose.
“What’s going on?”
The familiar voice from behind me made my spine straighten, and for the first time, I felt the shame that Warrington so desperately wanted me to.
“Nothing, Malfoy,” I spat before any of the others could speak. “Go away.”
“Malfoy,” Warrington said with a calculating smile, “come join us, won’t you?”
The inconsiderate blond climbed the steps to join the other three, and I glared up at him. “This doesn’t concern you.” Malfoy hadn’t talked to me since he reported me, though not for lack of trying. I didn’t want to allow a conversation until I’d formed some sort of response to his actions.
Kneeling before Malfoy as he stood beside Warrington, I certainly had things to say, but nothing that would make the current situation any better.
“Y/L/N just took a tumble on the stairs,” Warrington said, looking at Malfoy. “She was about to thank me for keeping her wand safe.” The four Slytherins all looked down at me, Warrington expectantly, Pansy nastily, Goyle bawdily, and Malfoy confusedly.
I tried to remind myself that I was trying to keep my head down and of the merits of complying. But it was one thing to comply with mistreatment when it came from notorious tormentors; it was quite another to comply with mistreatment from a friend. And with Malfoy standing above me, all I wanted to do was curse the lot of them.
“Kiss it,” Warrington hissed, “or I’ll go find that brother of yours and make him do it.”
I forced myself to hesitate instead of immediately throwing myself down onto the stone steps and obeying. While Warrington laid down the winning hand, I couldn’t let him know that particular hand could win all future games.
I inched myself closer to his shoes.
“Is there a problem here?”
I closed my eyes, denying the possibility that the owner of that voice was interrupting this stand-off between myself and the Inquisitor Squad. But no, when I opened my eyes once more, the Slytherins had parted to reveal the boy at the top of the stairs.
George Weasley.
“None of your concern, Weasel-bee,” Malfoy snarled.
George looked down at me, kneeling on stone steps in front of four members of the Inquisitor Squad, and I knew he was planning something dumb. Go away, I ordered him with a stern look. Let me handle this.
George casually stepped down two steps, shoving his hands into his pockets and leaning against the wall. “Y/N, I thought you were going to meet me in the Transfiguration classroom so McGonagall can help us with our project.”
Clever to mention a seventh-year class that George and I were in but Warrington wasn’t. Foolish to think that mentioning McGonagall would have any sway with this crowd.
“I’ll be right there,” I said through gritted teeth, once again shooting him a look to tell him to get lost.
Once again proving his inability to listen to basic directions, George walked down another step. “I think Y/L/N needs her wand for Transfiguration.”
Did he recognize my wand in Warrington’s hand? Or did he listen before he revealed himself? How long had he been listening? I wrapped my arms around my middle, feeling more vulnerable than I had before.
Warrington let out a short laugh. “It’s four against one, Weasley. Don’t think you’ll win.”
“Maybe I won’t win,” George replied, a cocky grin on his face, “but I can make your winning hurt.” George pulled his wand out. “And it’s four against two actually.”
I shut my eyes, ready to curse every Weasley ancestor for their descendant’s actions. George had clearly allied himself with me. It didn’t matter if I accepted the alliance because the damage was already done. When I opened my eyes again, Warrington, Pansy, and Goyle were still staring George down, but Malfoy was looking at me with a look of betrayal.
“Ten points from Gryffindor,” Warrington drawled. “And unless you want to make it another ten–”
George slipped his hand into his pocket and then raised his hand high.
BOOM!
The area filled with green smoke and an odor so putrid, I had to cover my nose. A hand seized my forearm, and if it hadn’t had freckles on it, I would’ve clawed at it with my nails. The hand dragged me up the stairs so quickly, I nearly tripped.
Then, once I’d finally gotten my feet under me, the hand dragged me sharply to the right and into a cramped room I’d never seen before.
George slid whatever trap door it was shut, throwing us into darkness.
“Lumos,” George muttered, and a small light threw his face into view.
“I cannot believe you–”
“Shush!” George leaned his ear against the door he’d just shut.
“Warrington still has my–”
Without budging from his spot, George held up his hand, showing me my wand. “Now will you be quiet?” he hissed.
I was getting real tired of getting shushed by George Weasley, but unfortunately, he was always in the middle of misguided heroics when he was doing so. And he was right, now that we were silent, I could hear the shouts outside the door.
I took the opportunity to look around the tiny space. It was about the size of a normal Hogwarts broom cupboard, but there were no cleaning supplies in sight. Despite the lack of contents, the stone interior sported no cobwebs or dust that I could see from the minimal light emanating from George’s wand.
The voices, still audible, grew farther away, and I saw George relax a bit.
“I didn’t need saving,” I whispered, grabbing my wand from George’s grip. “I had it all under control.”
George rounded on me. “Were you actually going to kiss his shoe?”
So George did overhear the conversation before he disrupted it. Suddenly looking in his eyes was much more difficult than a moment before, but I didn’t look away, even as my face flamed. “It’s none of your business.”
His head recoiled, as if physically pushed by my words. “You were.” Anger transformed his face, which I didn't like half as well as the normal easygoing smile. “I can’t believe you’d just lie down and do whatever they say!” His words might not have accused me of cowardice, but his eyes did.
I folded my arms, exasperated. “I weighed the possibilities and made an informed decision.”
“And so you allowed them to bully you?” George asked.
“Just because I didn’t do what you would do doesn’t make my actions wrong!” I snapped.
“Just because you thought about it first doesn’t mean it was the right decision.”
I scowled. “Just because you got to be a hero doesn’t mean that your decision was the right decision either!”
“You’re lucky I showed up when I did!”
“Oh, of course I couldn’t have handled it myself, could I? Guess what, Weasley,” I stabbed a finger into his chest, “I’ve survived over six years at Hogwarts without you, and I will continue to do so without interference.”
“But now you’re not just trying to survive,” George argued, grabbing my hand and holding it away from his chest. “You’re trying to keep your brother safe at your own expense.”
“And there’s nothing you can do about that,” I fumed. “If I decide that submitting is the best way to keep Clem safe, I will let the every single student in this school walk over me.”
George let out a huff, but the longer we frowned at each other with blazing eyes, the more his mouth curled into a wry grin. “Well, I guess I’ll just have to restock on dungbombs and follow you around for the rest of the year.”
“I’m not some damsel in distress,” I replied acerbically, reaching out to push the door open.
George grabbed my hand. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Leaving.”
“Not yet.”
I fixed him with a look. “We shouldn’t linger for them to find us. We should go find a better hiding spot, a more secure one that isn’t so close.”
George’s surprise quickly morphed into amusement. “You’ve never been in here before, have you?”
I didn’t like that he clearly knew something I didn’t. “No, why?”
“This door’s enchanted,” George replied. “If the room’s occupied, the door’s charmed not to open from the outside.” George’s words seemed dependable enough, but I didn’t trust the smirk on his face. It was obvious he found something amusing, but the source was not obvious. Unless he was laughing at me.
“What is this place?” I asked warily.
George grinned, but it wasn’t his regular goofy smile where his whole face lit up with enjoyment. His lips stayed closed, and his chin dipped down slightly as he waggled his eyebrows.
There’s only one thing that could mean.
“You dragged me to a make-out spot?!” I shrieked.
The only answer was George’s shoulders shaking with barely repressed laughter.
Ignoring the butterflies that spontaneously erupted in my stomach, I shoved the door open. “I’m getting out of here.” I stepped outside, eyes darting every which way to spy any enemies.
“What, is snogging Warrington’s boot preferable to snogging a friend?” George called from behind me as I stormed towards the Great Hall.
“I don’t snog my friends!” I yelled over my shoulder at him, not bothering to turn around fully.
Maybe I was imagining it, but as I climbed the steps to the Great Hall, I could’ve sworn I heard George say: “Well, that’s a bloody shame.”

TW: insecurity in relationships
Tumblr media
It’s still odd to stay the night.
You’re not quite the girlfriend, but not quite…anything else. The two of you stopped seeing other people long ago, months ago now, though it feels longer. He teases you, touches you, kisses you seemingly whenever he can, but…you’re not his girlfriend. At least he hasn’t said and you haven’t asked. And it feels silly and stupid and immature to wait for it, to even want to, or, rather, need to call him something…to make him yours, feels silly. But still.
You don’t live here, though there are pieces of you, like demarcations of your existence all over the place. A cushion the two of you purchased together that you’d meant to take back to yours, but had looked just as sweet on his couch, especially the morning after the two of you used it to prop up your head as you laid on the sofa and he laid in your lap, playing with his hair until the both of you were asleep. Or the coffee creamer in the fridge; Remus takes his coffee black, so it could only be yours. Or the toothbrush in the travel case next to his in the cabinet, purchased just for you. Even the hand soap in the bathroom - ginger mandarin, another shopping date find - served as a symbol of your presence in his life.
And now it’s Christmas. Christmas Day had been spent with your respective families only for the two of you to end up back at Rem’s. Frankly, it’s been weeks since you were home. Every time you return, your flat is like a living memory, forgotten oranges rotting in the fruit bowl on the counter, bread going stale, always cold even when it isn’t cold outside because you turn the heating off. You don’t really live there, not anymore. Most of your clothes live at Rem’s, space in his drawers opening up, seemingly if it’s own accord. It had all felt so natural…so why can’t you ask?
It’s as though he’s determined not to notice your predicament. There’s no way he can’t, though. Right? The two of you sit on the couch with the cute pillow, the tv quietly playing “It’s a Wonderful Life”. You know he’s not really watching, he’s probably asleep with your fingers running through his hair - it’s his favorite thing in the world or so he says. Suddenly he sits up and kisses your nose as he is wont to do.
“I can hear your brain moving, bun,” he whispers affectionately, as though unwilling to interrupt the film. “I know we didn’t really talk about presents, but I got you something.” He stands briefly and walks over to the cabinet he keeps coats in near the door. The top is out of both of your reach, but he tips on his toes and blindly reaches until he pulls down a small, shabbily wrapped little box.
“Just a trifle,” he assures you in his quietly formal way. You stand rather than take the gift right away.
“Good thing I got you something, too,” you laugh quietly, suddenly shy. You go into the bedroom and reach into your overnight bag, long since unpacked and taking up space in the closet. You’d hidden the gift in there, deciding to keep it for his birthday if the two of you didn’t exchange gifts.
“On the count of three,” Remus states almost mischievously as he takes the small gift bag from you and hands you the small box. He counts and the two of you open. His is swifter, it’s in a bag after all, requiring less effort.
“Oh, thank you, doll,” he says softly, his mind clearly elsewhere even as he admires the record you’d picked out. But you can’t say anything. Because inside the tiny box is a small, thin key. Imprinted on the key is “3B”. That’s this apartment. This is a key to his apartment. You hear Rem take a deep breath, your gaze still locked on the key.
“It’s taken me too long,” he practically whispers, Jimmy Stewart’s voice still whirring from the telly a good deal louder. “And you’ve…you’ve been far too kind about it, really.”
“Not too kind,” you whisper, surprising yourself. “Never too kind for you.”
Remus smiles and pulls you to him, crushing the key between the two of you. “See? Far too good for me you are.”
“Too good to be…what exactly?” you ask, dreading the feeling of it leaving your mouth.
“To be mine,” he responds, his voice firm. “To be my girlfriend, my partner…I want you to live here. With me. As long as you’ll have me.”
You beam into his chest, your heart thundering.
“Just a trifle?” you giggle, looking up at him. He smiles down at you, pressing ever closer, eyeing your mouth.
“You know, a trifle? An ultimate token of my love an affection? A symbol of my need to have you near me forever?” he laughs as your eyes grow wide. “Whatever you want it to be.”
“I want it to be…I want it to be a step.”
“A step?” he asks, eyes flicking between your mouth and eyes, arms still holding you close.
“A step to forever,” you say, voice just as sure as his now. “That okay?”
“That’s perfect,” he replies, “perfect, my love.”

Crescent Resurgence
Pairings: Older!Remus Lupin x Reader
Tumblr media
Bitten by Remus Lupin after an attempt to comfort him many years ago, you are left to navigate the challenges of lycanthropy alone. The resurgence of Voldemort brings you back together in the Order of the Phoenix, forcing Remus to seek redemption after all those years.
Warning: Angst. Slight comfort?
____________________________________________________
The night hung heavy with the weight of secrets and regrets as the moon cast its silvery glow over Grimmauld Place. For fifteen years, Y/N had lived in the shadows, mastering the art of solitude and survival. The scars, both physical and emotional, bore witness to a life shaped by the bite of a werewolf, and the absence of the one who had inflicted the wound.
The transformation was always a dance with pain, but that fateful night, a month after the tragic events that had torn apart their world, it became a brutal confrontation with the demons that lingered within Remus Lupin. Y/N, in her panther form, had watched over him, determined to be the support he so desperately needed. Yet, the trauma of loss had rendered him careless and hostile. In a moment of unbridled aggression, he bit her, causing her panther form to shift back into a vulnerable human.
Acceptance of death had washed over Y/N as she slipped into unconsciousness that night, only to awaken the next morning in a haze of agony. Survival instincts kicked in, and she learned to navigate the torment of lycanthropy on her own, crafting a modified Wolfsbane potion that not only eased the pain but hastened the healing process.
The rage within her burned like an eternal flame, fueled not only by the pain of the bite but by Remus's inexplicable disappearance. He was a ghost, a memory, and for years, Y/N wrestled with the love that refused to fade and the fury that refused to be silenced.
The Order of the Phoenix, in its desperate search for allies, found Y/N. Moody tracked her down, relentless in his pursuit of warriors. Driven by a desire for revenge for the friends she had lost, Y/N agreed to join the cause. The journey led her back to Grimmauld Place 12, a place steeped in memories both bitter and sweet.
Sirius Black, alive and well, greeted her with open arms. The warmth of his embrace contrasted sharply with the chill that swept through her when she saw him – Remus Lupin. More scars adorned his tired face, his hair graying, and a visible weariness etched into his being. He was a reflection of the years they had spent apart, the years of silence that screamed louder than words.
The meeting began, a gathering of familiar faces and strangers bound by a common enemy. Harry Potter, the spitting image of his parents, entered the room, and Y/N couldn't help but marvel at the echoes of a past that seemed simultaneously distant and achingly close.
As the meeting concluded, Y/N made a swift exit, her heart pounding with a mix of emotions. The night air offered a temporary reprieve, but Remus followed her outside. The tension between them crackled like electricity as words, long unspoken, spilled into the air.
"You left without a word," Y/N accused, her voice steady but laden with years of hurt.
Remus, a shadow of his former self, nodded solemnly. "I couldn't face you. I couldn't face what I had done to you."
The confrontation escalated, a whirlwind of accusations and admissions. Remus, burdened by guilt, conceded to the pain he had caused. Y/N, refusing to be swayed by words alone, stood her ground, her heart torn between love and resentment.
"I will never forgive myself for the pain I've caused you," Remus confessed, his eyes reflecting the depth of his remorse.
A heavy silence hung between them before Y/N, her voice edged with sorrow, admitted, "I loved you. I never wanted to be apart."
The admission hung in the air, a fragile bridge between past wounds and uncertain futures. Remus, understanding the gravity of his sins, asked the question that loomed over them both. "Do you still love me?"
The answer, honest and raw, escaped Y/N's lips: "I don't know."
A nod passed between them, a silent acknowledgment of the fractures that time had failed to heal. Remus bid her goodnight, his figure disappearing into the shadows of Grimmauld Place.
_______________________________________________________
Weeks passed since that night and Y/N found herself standing alone in the courtyard of Grimmauld Place, a burdensome storm of emotions raging within her. The confrontation with Remus reverberated through her mind, and the weight of uncertainty pressed heavily on her chest. Sirius emerged from the dimly lit entrance, concern etched on his face as he approached her.
"Y/N," he said, his voice low and empathetic. "I know that seeing Remus again is difficult. He's been through a lot, and so have you."
She looked at Sirius, gratitude flickering in her eyes. "It's just… it's been so long, and I thought I had moved on, but seeing him again brought back everything."
Sirius placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to have it all figured out right now. Give yourself time."
Feeling a mix of gratitude and sadness, Y/N nodded. She retreated to a quiet corner of the courtyard, taking deep breaths to steady her racing heart. The night air was cool, but the turmoil within her was hotter than any flame. It was a blend of love, resentment, and the jagged edges of memories that had never quite faded.
As she stood there lost in thought, Remus emerged from the shadows, his footsteps hesitant. He approached her, his eyes reflecting a myriad of emotions. Y/N steeled herself, preparing for another round of the emotional storm that seemed to follow him.
"I… I know I hurt you," Remus began, his voice filled with regret. "I can't change the past, but I want to make things right. If that means staying away, I'll do it. I just… I can't bear to see you in pain because of me."
Y/N met his gaze, her eyes a mixture of sadness and determination. "Remus, you don't get to decide what's right for me anymore. I've spent years learning to live with the consequences of your actions, and I've become stronger despite it all."
He sighed, a heavy acknowledgment of the truth in her words. "I never meant to leave you alone, to make you bear this burden on your own."
"And yet you did," Y/N replied, her voice firm. "You left without a word, and I had to learn to survive without you."
Remus ran a hand through his graying hair, a gesture of frustration and remorse. "I understand if you can't forgive me. I don't deserve it."
The air was thick with tension as Y/N considered his words. "Forgiveness is a process, Remus. It's not something that happens overnight. I need time to figure out what this means for both of us."
He nodded, a silent acceptance of the reality they faced. "I just want you to know that I never stopped caring about you."
Y/N looked away, a mixture of sadness and longing in her eyes. "Caring is not enough, Remus. I needed you to be there for me, and you weren't."
The conversation lingered, suspended in the night air like the unspoken words between them. Eventually, Y/N turned away, her resolve unwavering. "I need some time alone. Don't follow me."
Remus watched her retreating figure, a heavy heart filled with remorse. The courtyard remained silent, shadows playing on the stone walls, as both Y/N and Remus grappled with the ghosts of their shared past.
Days turned into nights, and Y/N navigated the war-torn world with a heart heavy with conflicting emotions. The Order of the Phoenix, bound by a common purpose, continued their fight against Voldemort's forces.
One day, as she stood by the fireplace at Grimmauld Place, watching the flickering flames dance, Remus approached her. The lines on his face spoke of battles fought, both internal and external.
"Y/N," he said quietly, his gaze searching hers. "I've been thinking a lot about what you said. I understand that I can't change the past, but I want to be there for you now. If you'll let me."
The room fell silent as Y/N considered his words. She saw sincerity in his eyes, a glimmer of the Remus she had once known. The wounds of the past still lingered, but perhaps, in the midst of the war, there was room for healing and reconciliation.

poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1.5k words
You’re becoming genuinely worried that Remus and Sirius are going to break the bed.
Both of them are cursing like sailors, Sirius’ voice climbing higher as Remus rocks both him and you with his thrusting. The bed lurches back and forth, your body jiggling with the movement, and James laughs, dipping down to kiss at the spot beneath your ear.
“Doing alright, angel?”
You swallow. “Yeah. Bit worried about the bed. You?”
He picks his head up to give you a smile, seraphim with a flirtatious edge. “Also worried about the bed, but it’ll go out in style. Personally, I’m doing fantastic.”
You return his grin, and James presses his lips to yours. Lingering, mushy kisses that feel like they’re drawing something out of you as he pumps into you slowly. His hand stokes up and down your side the way he knows you like, grounding you while you arch up into him, affection and pleasure melding in your core until your walls are gripping him with something akin to desperation. The feeling grows steadily, James’ voice becoming hoarse as he spews sweet words and encouragements that get swallowed up by your eager mouth until you both break apart into a thousand shining pieces.
James’ forehead lands on yours, both of you panting softly into the inch of space between you. His large palm continues to soothe over the now sweat-slick skin of your waist. You realize, distantly, that the sound and movement from the other side of the bed has ceased. Sirius and Remus must have finished before you (by some miracle, the bed seems intact), you’re not sure how long ago. It’s not unusual. You always take longer.
Sweat and cum cool in your crevices, and a familiar remorse takes root somewhere in your chest, spreading towards your gut. You shut your eyes. You want to clean this up like it never happened.
“Hey sweetheart, how are we feeling?” James reads your change in mood instantly. His question is painfully gentle as he picks his head up, giving you the bit of space he knows you need.
“Okay,” you say.
“Want to have a shower?” Sirius leans over to give your knee a squeeze. His tone carries the dulled worry of routine. “Might make you feel better.”
You nod. Remus helps you up while James peels his condom off, throwing it in the waste bin. You can’t all fit comfortably in the shower, but you squeeze in anyway, your boyfriends terribly kind as you all clean off, checking in with you periodically. Your smile comes a bit easier, the easy affection between you softening your contrition like it always does. They relax as you do. Soon you feel clean and new, all wrapped up in steam and the love you wonder if you’ll ever be good enough to deserve.
It’s not until after you’ve toweled off and are sitting on the bed in your pajamas, watching Sirius do his skincare routine, that a different kind of guilt begins to eat at you.
“Sorry I always make this so difficult,” you blurt.
Sirius looks over at you from the bathroom, foaming cleanser half rinsed off his face. Beside him, James pauses with floss held up in front of him.
“Uh, what’s difficult?” James asks you.
“Just, everytime we have sex,” you look down at your hands, hearing the soft shuffle of pages as Remus sets down his book beside you, “you guys do so much to accommodate me.”
“That’s typically how sex works.” Sirius rolls his eyes, tossing you a smile to mitigate it.
You return his smile wryly. “You know what I mean,” you say softly.
“No, come on.” Remus scoots closer until his shoulder is touching yours. “What do you mean, love?”
You shrug, self-conscious. “Like, how you have to take care of me after because I get weird. And during, I never give blowjobs even though you guys have no problem doing anything for me, and you can’t go as rough with me as you like to. I’m sure it’s frustrating.”
“Not really, no.” Remus says, and you startle at his matter-of-fact tone. “Anything else?”
You hesitate. “Well, I hear the stuff you and Siri say to each other. You never say any of that to me, and you know I won’t say it to you.”
“Yes, James doesn’t like degradation either.” Remus leans back against the headboard, looking thoughtful. “Is that all?”
“I…” You’d been expecting a bigger reaction, not this almost bored response. “I guess that’s all I can think of right now, yeah.”
“Well, let us know if you think of any more, because all of that’s just preference, dove.” Remus gives you a kind look, almost pitying. “None of it makes you difficult.”
You sigh, leaning back beside him. Remus’ hand comes up to stroke your hair. “I just mean that I want you all to be able to do whatever you want to,” you say. “I don’t mean to be so…finicky.”
“You’re not finicky,” Sirius laughs, coming out of the bathroom. He crawls right over you on the bed, stretching out like a cat and laying down with his head on your lap. “Everyone has preferences. It’d only be weird if you didn’t.”
“But what about your preferences?” You’re nearly bickering now, frustrated with them for intentionally missing your point.
“Have you ever thought about the idea that maybe we don’t all like it rough all of the time?” He raises an eyebrow up at you, teasing. James finishes in the bathroom and comes to lean against the doorway, watching the three of you. “If I wanted my hair pulled every time, gorgeous, I don’t think I’d have any hair left.”
His joking coaxes a smile from you, but it’s tinged with bemusement. Really, you hadn’t thought about it that way. You’d just assumed that anytime they have sex with you, it’s a small sacrifice on their part. They drew the short stick that day. Like he can read your thoughts, Sirius grins.
“Anyway, know what I like most?”
“What?”
“You’re going to hate it,” he warns.
You almost want to laugh, but you narrow your stare on him. “Go on.”
“Knowing that we’re making you feel good.”
A derisive snort leaves you before he’s even finished the sentence. You roll your eyes. “You’re right, that’s awful.”
“It’s the truth, though.” James holds his hand up beside him. “Scout’s honor.”
“Were you ever in boy scouts?” Remus asks quietly, almost to himself. Sirius shakes his head in your lap, but shrugs like that’s not really relevant.
“Honestly, sweetheart, you make it sound like being with you is some kind of chore,” James says, ignoring them both. “Do you think you’re the only one who can say if you don’t like something?” You blink in surprise, but he goes on. “If we weren’t having a good time, we would tell you. Promise.”
“Scout’s honor,” Remus mimics from beside you. “You’re not the only one who likes to be treated gently, dove. The rest of us might go back-and-forth sometimes, but we all have things we don’t like, alright? It’s no burden to do what’s going to be nice for you, and like Sirius said, making it nice for you is part of the fun.”
“A big part,” Sirius agrees.
“Okay,” you say, softening a bit. “Okay, but what about after? None of the rest of you need to be coddled.”
“How do you figure?” James asks interestedly. “Sirius is the biggest pillow princess I ever saw. He needs to be carried out of bed after, or have you never noticed?”
“Oi, you try being thrown around like you two do to me and see how you feel after!” Sirius glowers. “Dollface, you get it, right?”
You laugh, because you don’t, that’s the point, but Remus speaks again before you can tell him so. “Sweetheart, we all have our things we need afterward. And yeah, I think we all hope that someday you don’t feel so bad about yourself right after, but we’re happy to take care of you anyway.”
You scrutinize him, looking for a lie in his placid features. “Really? You don’t mind?”
“Yeah, really, idiot.” Sirius pinches meanly at your stomach. “You’re our baby, of course we don’t mind. Stop asking silly questions.”
“Let her ask what she wants, twat,” James says, starting towards the bed, and Remus gives Sirius’ thigh a reprimanding flick with his middle finger. It doesn’t look very hard, but Sirius squawks in protest and glares at him anyway. “Nobody minds taking care of you, angel,” James goes on, scooching into bed beside you. “That’s what we do, right? You’ve never complained about taking care of us.”
“I guess,” you give in, laying your head on his shoulder.
James rests his cheek atop your hair in return. You can feel the movement of his jaw as he speaks. “We’re all allowed to like what we like,” he vows, then lowers his voice conspiratorily. “But you and I are on the right side of things, sweetheart. The things those two say to each other are depraved.”

“it’s bloody freezing out here,” mutters sirius, his voice gruff in the early morning air.
you roll your eyes, glancing at him out of the corner of your eye. in your peripheral, you can see his mussed hair and dark circles, as well as the scowl that colours his handsome features.
“you should’ve stayed behind if you’re going to whine, sirius,” you respond, raising your brows.
he wrinkles his nose, looking an awful lot like he’s smelled something foul. “are you mad? i’m not staying cooped up in that castle when you lot are out here having fun. where’s moony?” he looks at you expectantly.
“running late, i suppose,” you glance at your watch, a christmas gift from remus. it’s charmed, the tiny mice printed on the watch frolicking around as you get the time. your face turns pink, embarrassed although you love the little watch. you hope sirius doesn’t see. you’d never hear the end of it.
“well, it’s half eight. earliest i’ve been up in weeks.” sirius yawns, swiping his sleeve across his face.
you roll your eyes again. you knew the lot of them would be menaces upon returning from the christmas holidays. sirius spent the two weeks of holiday break at james’s house, the two of them likely driving the potters out of their minds. the pair of them had clearly suffered from a lack of sleep, made clear by sirius’s incessant complaining about being up early.
you wanted to spend the holidays at hogwarts, hoping that remus might convince his parents to let him do the same, with no luck. you suffered a miserable two weeks at home, your parents refusing to let you out of their sight for a second. you hardly even had time to respond to the owls sent by your friends; notably, a muggle christmas card of lily and her family, an odd photo of sirius and james wearing charmed elves’ hats, and a sweet note from remus wishing you a merry christmas and promising you a gift upon your return to school.
thus, you are excited to spend a few hours having fun with your friends without worrying about lessons. if only you can wrestle sirius out of his grumpy mood.
there’s a chorus of boots crunching through snow behind you, and you turn to find lily approaching. james and remus trail close behind, with marlene at the back.
“what’s with the frown?” lily makes a face at sirius, who makes another disgruntled face.
“hasn’t got his beauty sleep,” you warn, a smile playing on your lips.
“you’d know about that, wouldn’t you?” sirius says crossly.
you raise your eyebrows at him.
“simmer down, pads,” james says, bright as ever. “don’t mind him. he’s just peeved because of that detention mcgonagall gave him.”
he pats his friend on the back, accompanied only by a grumble from the long-haired boy.
“yes,” says remus, “who knew she would catch him trying to turn marie littletree’s quill into a bowtruckle?”
“all right,” says sirius. “i get it. i’ll paint a stupid little grin on my face like prongs here. can we get on with it?” he grins at the confused half-smile on james’s face, then nudges his friend in the shoulder.
“right,” says marlene. “lily’s got an itinerary.”
“yes,” says the redhead. “first hogsmeade weekend back, and i’ve got plans. now, the three broomsticks is going to be absolutely swimming with people.”
“it’s always swimming with people,” james chimes.
“right,” she gives him a sharp look, and he scratches his neck awkwardly. “i was thinking, we should skip the morning crowd, and have a go at ice skating.”
“ice skating!”
“ice skating?”
james and your exclamations mirror one another, as you both gawk at lily. james looks like a child on christmas morning, and you look… well, terrified.
“oh, godric, i’m going to be so embarrassed. i can hardly walk, lils, much less skate!” you groan, feeling the exasperation sirius has been bleeding all morning.
“c’mon, y/n!” james gives you a shake around the shoulders, looking excited. “you’ll be fine. a little arresto momentum, and you’re saved.”
“right, and which one of you is going to babysit me to keep me from face planting?” you glare at him.
“sounds like a job for moony, if y’ask me,” says sirius smugly. he’s already strutting towards the pond, james close on his heels.
marlene grins, and lily looks at you pleadingly. “c’mon, y/n,” she begs, pouting like a child.
“it’ll be fun,” marlene adds.
you huff, not wanting to feel like a buzzkill.
remus places a gentle hand on your shoulder, squeezing gently. you sigh.
“you’ll be all right,” he urges, voice soft.
you sigh, but concede. “fine.”
lily and marlene cheer, taking off behind james and sirius on their way to the pond.
you frown, glancing over at remus as you fall into a slow pace following them.
“do i have to?” you wonder aloud, hooking your arm through his as you crunch through the hardened snow.
remus smiles down at you, a gentle smile finding his lips. his cheeks are pink from the cold already, his honeyed hair sticking out in tufts from beneath his knit hat. your stomach does a flip, and you have to force yourself not to look away.
“don’t tell me you’re scared, mouse,” he says, raising an eyebrow.
“scared? pfft, i don’t get scared,” you mutter, rolling your eyes.
“oh, really?”
“really. but i know my strengths. and ice-foot coordination is not one of them. i’m preparing to embarrass the wits out of myself.”
“it can’t possibly be that bad,” he says.
“have you met me, rem? i tripped over the air just last night.”
“i actually think that was a badly timed jinx from sirius.”
“i hope you’re joking.”
“afraid not.”
“oh, he’s got it coming.” you shake your head, remembering the burn of your cheeks as you tumbled in a heap in the common room. remus came over, smiling to himself as he helped pick up your things. you’d wanted to crawl into a hole and hide for the rest of the night.
as you approach the pond, you blink at the sight of a few other students gliding over the frozen water. you blink, not feeling confident in your abilities. you can feel your legs wobbling already, hearing the sound of yourself crashing into the ice.
“okay,” you stop in your tracks, grabbing remus by his wrists. he faces you, eyes expectant.
“yes?” he humours you, looking as serious as you feel.
“promise you won’t laugh if i fall.”
his features crack into a smile, his head falling as he laughs softly. “c’mon, mouse,” he nudges you, draping an arm over your shoulders. he’s warm, and you lean into him as he leads you closer to the water’s edge, where your friends have already conjured up their ice skates.
“if you laugh, i’ll never forgive you.”
“i’ll keep an eye on you,” he says, “and i promise i won’t laugh.”
“holding you to it,” you say, joining marlene and lily by the pond.
“here,” marlene takes half a second and conjures you a pair of skates, untied on your feet.
james and sirius are already on the ice, flitting around faster than you can keep up with. they’re a pair of blurs, their laughter ringing through the air.
you make a face, your ears burning just at the thought of how you’re going to look trying to keep your feet beneath yourself. you don’t even notice your untied laces as you wobble towards the ice.
“just a second, mouse,” remus says softly, his large frame stooping to tie your shoes.
your face goes red as you glance down at him, feeling sheepish. “sorry,” you say, “i could have done that.”
“i’ve got it,” remus hums, his scarred hands tying your skate laces with expertise.
he’s towering over you again in half a second, winking at you as he reaches down to grasp your hand. his skin is warm, even through both pairs of your gloves, and you feel a bit better.
“y’alright?” remus wonders aloud, guiding you to the edge of the ice. he steps on gracefully, somehow able to keep his feet from sliding beneath him. you stare down at his skates, nervous.
you frown. “i’m scared,” you admit, face darkening with embarrassment.
“don’t be scared,” remus says.
he tugs your hand, smiling warmly. you hate how persuasive he is; his soft voice and gentle smile have a way of turning you into a gushing mess in the palm of his hands. no one knows how to make you feel better like remus does.
“you’ll still love me if i make a fool out of myself, right?” you wonder aloud, stepping slowly onto the ice. you tuck your bottom lip between your teeth, focused on keeping yourself upright.
“i’d love you even if you made a fool out of the whole world, love.”
he’s laughing as you join him on the ice, the velvety deep sound sending butterflies rampaging through your stomach. he grasps your hand, ever so gently, and pulls you to the center of the ice, where fewer of the other students are. your classmates fly by, agile and quick on the ice. you feel somewhat like a baby deer, your legs wobbly beneath you.
“see, not so bad, is it?” remus encourages, his features now split in a jovial grin. his tawny eyes glitter with amusement, the corners crinkled by his big smile.
“no, i guess not,” you agree, fingers still gripping the sleeve of his coat in a vice.
“d’you want to try on your own?” he inquires. his long fingers loosen their hold on your wrist, but you tighten your own around him.
“no–not yet!” you squeak, moving closer to him and throwing your arms around his middle. he laughs, his chest rumbling against your cheek. you take a deep breath.
“sorry,” he chuckles, smoothing a hand over your hair. “i’ve got you, m’little mouse.”
you blink, peeking around his frame to see sirius and lily engaged in a race across the pond, their speeding frames silhouetted by the snowy landscape behind them. a grin spreads over your features, watching as james and marlene cheer them on.
“i don’t know how they do it,” you muse, shaking your head.
“you’ll be racing them in no time,” remus says teasingly, slowly unraveling your death grip around him.
“if you say so,” you murmur.
remus pulls you along gently, gaining some speed as you become more comfortable at the feeling of being on the ice. after several minutes, you’re no longer as unstable on your feet. you hardly even shriek when james charges at the pair of you at full speed, spraying you with a shower of ice as he stops at the last second.
“you git,” you hiss, sending a snowball his way with a flick of your wand.
he curses loudly, already halfway across the pond when it hits his back. lily and marlene dissolve into a fit of giggles, while remus chuckles gently.
you don’t even notice that he isn’t holding you steady anymore. distracted, you’ve released your grasp on his sleeve, and are slowly gliding alongside him. you’re closer to the edge of the pond, your feet steady beneath you as you gather confidence.
“feeling okay?” remus has spun around, facing you as he skates backwards.
what a showoff, you think, but you say nothing. he doesn’t know it, but you adore just how easily he picks up on the things you find to be absolutely mind-boggling. despite his insistence that he’s nothing special, he picks up on skills with ease. he’s a talented wizard, quick-witted and good at solving problems under pressure. it’s precisely why he excels in school, despite being out around each full moon and sometimes struggling to come out of his shell.
“thanks to you,” you say, flushing. “i wouldn’t be out here if it weren’t for you, you know.”
he smiles sheepishly, his wind-chapped face going a deeper shade of pink. “sure you would.”
you laugh, shaking your head. “i’m serious, rem,” you say. “thank you.”
“don’t thank me,” he says, looking more than a little embarrassed.
you reach for him, wanting to hold his hand, but you see concern flash in his eyes. your eyes widen, but before you can say anything he’s already reaching for you.
“watch out–”
but you’ve both reacted too late. another student slams into your shoulder, knocking you off kilter. you squeal, falling to the ice too quickly for either you or remus to react. the air feels as if you’re caught in slow motion for a second; the ice is approaching your face with extreme speed, glistening in the morning sun. without thinking, you brace with one hand, the other halfway reaching towards remus.
your arm breaks your fall, and there’s a sickening crack as you hit the ice. it’s harder than you thought. you shriek, a sickening pain rocketing up your wrist and shoulder as you finally collapse completely.
“shit,” remus hisses, crouching as you feel his hands on your shoulders, trying to help you up to a sitting position.
you’re too focused on the excruciating pain in your arm to realize that you’re crying. the tears are hot against your skin, burning your cold cheeks as you sit up. you clutch your arm with your other hand, looking at the horrible purple lump already protruding at your wrist.
“merlin,” you sob, “it’s broken!” the sight of the bone jabbing at the inside of your arm makes your stomach do a turn, and you force yourself to look away. remus crouches in front of you, his worried face swimming in your teary vision.
you hear your friends shouting, and several nasty words directed at the student who slammed into you. you glance over, seeing marlene dragging sirius away by his scarf as he tries to throttle the poor third-year student.
lily skates towards you, slowing as she approaches.
“oh, dear,” she says, as she sees your arm.
“it’s bad, isn’t it?” you ask, glancing between remus and lily. you can’t force yourself to look back at the arm, feeling as if you’re going to faint if you have to see the bruises blooming over your arm.
“not so bad,” lily lies, offering a forced smile.
“we’ve got to get some help. you need to see madam pomfrey.” remus says. he’s crouched, one hand coming out to wipe the tears from your face. you breathe in his scent, trying to ground yourself.
james, sirius, and marlene finally join you, sirius still cursing the student as marlene drags him over.
“ugh,” james says as he sees your injury.
sirius peers over remus’ shoulder, his eyes blazing with fury as he sees the extent of your injury. “i’m going to curse the bollocks off of that kid!” he hisses, reaching for his wand, tucked into his coat pocket.
“sirius, stop it!” marlene scolds. “we have to do something about that arm. there’s no way y/n’s making it back to the castle in this state.”
“i’m fine,” you insist, though your stomach is rolling unpleasantly. you think you’d likely vomit if you had to stand.
“you’re not fine,” remus says, his voice stern. “your arm’s gone sideways. you need to be in the hospital wing.”
“we can’t move her like this,” james says, sounding as sick as you are.
“let lily have a go at it. she put my pinky right when that bludger hit it at practice,” says sirius.
“your pinky?” remus says incredulously. “i think an arm’s a bit more important than a pinky.”
“rem,” you say, nudging him with your foot. “it’s fine. i trust lily. besides, i think i’ll be sick if we don’t do something now.”
remus sighs, his eyes dark with worry. he places a hand on your knee, shifting slightly to let lily get closer. “fine.” you can tell he’s not happy about it.
“marlene, go get some help, will you?” you say, your head swimming. you feel closer to fainting by the minute, shock setting in.
“‘course i will.” she’s gone in a flash.
“okay,” you breathe, closing your eyes as you wait for lily to fix your arm.
“right, then,” she pulls her want out of her pocket, leaning closer. there’s a second of silence before she says, “episkey!”
only, the spell doesn’t go quite right. a blinding hot pain blooms in your arm, and you shriek again. this time, you’re not strong enough to keep from fainting. white spots bloom behind your vision, and you collapse.
you wake hours later, in the hospital wing. you stir, your throat dry as you turn over in the cot. your vision is blurry as you peel your eyes open, finding your arm wrapped in some kind of sling. madam pomfrey is nowhere in sight, but remus is slumped in a chair at your beside.
his eyes are closed, his breathing steady as he sits. his head rests lazily against the back of the chair. you study his face; his scars shine in the sliver of evening light that spills in from the window behind you. you groan as you move, your entire body aching.
your muscles throb, the fall having taken its toll on you. you watch him for a few minutes, the delicate rise and fall of his chest. his hair falls in golden wisps over his forehead and his ears, tickling the nape of his neck. you smile, glad he’s getting some rest. you’re sure he’s been perched in that uncomfortable chair all day. he’s probably missed all of his meals, crouched by your bed worrying.
you smile to yourself, wondering how you’ve ended up with someone so perfect.
he stirs finally, his eyes crinkling as he yawns.
“rem,” you say softly, catching his attention as he opens his eyes.
“hey, sleepyhead,” he says, a tired smile painting his features.
you reach for him with your good hand, his long fingers reaching out and enveloping yours with ease. his skin is warm as he brings your hand to his lips, holding it there for a moment. your face heats up. embarrassed, you want to sink down into the cot and disappear, but you can’t run from him. he knows you too well.
“have you been here all day?” you wonder.
“of course,” he says, as if you’d be crazy to think otherwise.
“you didn’t have to do that.”
“yes i did,” he says, frowning. “it’s my fault you went out there in the first place. you wouldn’t be hurt if i hadn’t convinced you to go skating.”
“hey,” you scold, “don’t say that. it’s not your fault. none of it’s your fault.”
he shakes his head, looking apologetic. you sigh, squeezing his hand.
“i’m serious, rem. i don’t blame you. i had a lot of fun, until that kid ran into me, at least.” you grin, trying to lighten the mood.
he can’t help the smile that creeps onto his features. “poor guy,” he says, “sirius wanted to hunt him down so badly. said he was willing to have detention for the rest of the year, if it meant he got his revenge.”
you roll your eyes. “what a hothead,” you laugh.
“yeah, think the kid was pretty scared too. he send a card up, and some chocolate frogs.” remus passes you a card. you open it up, and a flock of little birds explodes from the paper, as well as a bright, sparkling message that says get well soon!
you smile, feeling much better already. you squeeze remus’s hand again, closing the card as he passes you a chocolate frog.
“thank you,” you say in response, though both of you know you’re not just thanking him for the chocolate.
he nods in response, leaning over to press a kiss against your forehead.

Moonlight Understandings
Pairings: Older!Remus Lupin x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Plot: You bump into Remus in the Forbidden Forest.
Warnings: Age gap, reader is in her twenties.
____________________________________________________
The full moon hung in the night sky like a glowing orb, casting an eerie light on the Forbidden Forest. Leaves rustled in the gentle breeze as you cautiously made your way through the dense foliage. The offer to assist Hagrid in caring for the magical creatures had led you to the heart of the forest, where an unexpected encounter awaited you.
As you walked deeper into the shadows, the atmosphere thickened with tension. The distant howls of werewolves echoed through the trees, sending shivers down your spine. Yet, you pressed on, your senses alert. You knew the risks, but a strange calmness enveloped you, born out of a secret you had kept since your Hogwarts days.
A low growl pierced the silence, freezing you in your tracks. Slowly, the massive form of Remus Lupin emerged from the darkness, his eyes wild with the untamed ferocity of the wolf within. The moonlight illuminated his fur, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow.
"Remus," you whispered, your voice barely audible over the sounds of the night. You approached him cautiously, maintaining a respectful distance. You had always known his secret, discovered during a fateful night at Hogwarts.
Remus's snarl softened, replaced by confusion. He recognized you, but disbelief lingered in his eyes. You gestured for him to follow, a silent understanding passing between you. The two of you walked through the forest, the only sounds being the rustling leaves and the distant howls.
The werewolf kept a careful distance, his golden eyes locked on yours. The moonlit path led you to a clearing where you sat, the moon casting a silvery glow on the grass. Remus remained in his wolf form, his presence powerful and enigmatic.
"I've known for a long time, Remus," you confessed, your eyes meeting his. "I stumbled upon you during one of your transformations back at school."
Remus's gaze held a mix of gratitude and vulnerability. He couldn't speak in this form, but his eyes spoke volumes. You continued to share your understanding, recounting the challenges he faced and the strength he showed in the face of adversity.
Before the night fully ended, you rose from your spot in the clearing. The first light of dawn painted the horizon as you turned to Remus. "Meet me at my hut, to the left of Hagrid's, if you want to," you said, your voice carrying a gentle reassurance. "I'll be there."
The soft morning light filtered through the curtains as you stirred awake to gentle knocks on your door. Still groggy, you rolled out of bed and made your way to answer it. As the door creaked open, you were met with Remus Lupin standing on your doorstep.
"Morning," he greeted, a mixture of exhaustion and gratitude in his eyes.
"Good morning, Remus," you replied, inviting him inside. The atmosphere was calm but charged with unspoken words from the previous night.
Sitting down, you both took a moment before delving into the conversation about the events in the Forbidden Forest. "Like I said last night, I've known for a long time, Remus," you began, your eyes meeting his. "Back in school, I figured it out. You would disappear once a month, always on a full moon. You always looked rugged and tired the next day."
Remus sighed, his shoulders relaxing as the weight of his secret found understanding. "You never said anything."
"It wasn't my secret to share," you explained. "I saw the struggle, the pain, and I knew it wasn't something you chose. We all have our demons, Remus."
A grateful smile played on his lips. "Thank you for keeping it to yourself."
As the conversation shifted, Remus hesitated before speaking again. "Listen, I was thinking…maybe we could go out sometime. You know, like a date?"
You met his gaze, the sincerity in his eyes touching your heart. "I'd like that, Remus."
He smiled, a hint of insecurity lingering. "I hope this doesn't bother you. I'm a bit older."
You chuckled, "It doesn't bother me, Remus. What matters is the person, and I've always seen the strength, kindness, and resilience in you."
His eyes lit up with a mix of relief and gratitude. "Thank you for understanding."
On Saturday afternoon, Remus suggested a visit to the Three Broomsticks, a cozy pub in Hogsmeade. The warm ambiance and chatter of patrons created a comfortable setting as you settled into a corner booth. Remus, slightly nervous yet genuine, began to open up about his life.
"I've lived through so much, seen the world change in ways I never imagined," he confessed, his eyes reflecting the weight of his experiences. "Sometimes, I worry that my past might cast a shadow over what I have and ruin it."
You reached across the table, reassuringly placing your hand on his. "Remus, your past is a part of you, but it doesn't define your present. I see the person you are now, and that's what matters."
He smiled, the lines on his face softening. "Thank you...for accepting me."
The evening continued with laughter, shared stories, and a growing sense of intimacy. As you walked back through the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade, a light snowfall dusting the rooftops, Remus hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"I've enjoyed this, spending time with you," he admitted, his gaze searching yours. "And, I was wondering if you'd like to do it again. Perhaps, join me for dinner next weekend?"
You grinned, the invitation warming your heart. "I'd love to, Remus."

Hi love! This is my first time requesting for you but I’m excited.
Remus & nervous embarrassment around him. (I think that was 12, I forgot)
Thanks darling
send me one of my boys + a prompt for fluffiness
young!remus + fem!reader
you were much much different than the last time remus saw you, the night before during the victory party you were completely outgoing, all smiles and touches, telling him you liked him and asking for a kiss, right now you could not be further from that, your cheeks burning red as you played with your necklace and had your eyes completely glued to your lap. it was endearing, really, especially because it made him loosen up slightly as he would have to be the one doing the talking, even if his own hands kept getting sweaty and he kept drying them on his pants in the most nervous of ways. "after last night i..." your eyes widened but you didn't move, your breath starting to feel like it was stuck on your throat as your cheeks got even redder, if that was possible. "let's go to hogsmeade together, maybe?" remus quickly took one of your hands to hold, while he was feeling brave enough, and even though you didn't have any liquid courage to help you now, the feeling of his nervous sweaty hand gave you enough confidence to look back at him and intertwine your fingers with his, you nodded with a shy smile and replied, even if it was barely a whisper, "i would like that."

Remus Lupin x Reader
first fic ever so please be friendly!! English is not my first language and i am using this as practice :)
Intro: Sirius and James are SO over you and lupin beating around the bush. So they create a plan to get Remus into realizing how much you like him.
She/Her Reader
Not very serious just fluff :D
Word count: 1455
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
“Gosh! You two are so immature” You exaggerate the ‘so’ while rolling your eyes.
James and Sirius look at you smug as they rest on the gryffindor common room couch.
“You know we’re right.” Sirius says as he crosses his legs and props them on the coffee table. You sigh and look around for the book you misplaced when suddenly you hear the portrait door open. Remus walks in. Your eyes soften, “You okay..?”
He had just come back from Madam Pomfreys after his latest transformation. You would love to say that he was the one to tell you about it but you found out on your own. You could tell he was still not used to you knowing as he looked at you bashfully and nodded.
James rolled his eyes at your interactions and kicked Sirius's leg.
Remus sat next to you laying his tired head on your shoulder. You opened the book you had since found under a pillow and read softly, it was just loud enough for Remus to hear. You could tell James and Sirius were gossiping about it, but paid no mind. This was routine. Any time that Remus was exhausted (usually from a lycanthrope transformation) He would have you read to him as he napped.
He was just trying to regain his energy before the next class you would tell yourself. (he would tell his teasing friends the same unbeknownst to you.)
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
“For fucks sake Remus it is so obvious!! She's practically slappin you in the face with a sign that says ‘I LOVE YOU’”
James tells Remus as he swings round the bedposts in their dorm.
“You know nothing of romance James.” Remus says with a snicker shutting his dresser closed.
“Oh and you do? Wake up moony.” Sirius says writing something down swiftly in his notebook.
“Okay just listen to me, she's..” He pauses. “Beautiful. Y-You know how I feel about her - but she is very different compared to me and while she tries and acts like me being a..” He pauses once more. “About my situation..I know that deep down it's bothering her. I'm better off keeping our group intact and just letting my feelings pass.” He says with a deep breath in.
James and Sirius share a knowing look filled with two very conflicting feelings. Pity, and Mischief.
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
You exit your charms class walking with pride seeing as you had just been awarded a perfect grade on your latest quiz. Suddenly you spot James and Siruis whispering to each other in the halls. You run up to them in excitement ready to share your newfound academic success. You notice a mischievous smirk on Sirius's face as you approach with a wave.
“We're talking about your boyfriend. Not sure you're gonna want to hear this.” Sirius says.
You roll your eyes but continue walking with them with a new curiosity.
“Anyways. He was being such a dick showing off his test results. He alwayyss does this and it's getting to be too much. He knows we are shit at potions.” James says confidently.
You furrow your brows but are silenced by Sirius’s response.
“God tell me about it ! Not to mention his werewolf transformations are getting annoying. It's an unnecessary responsibility for us.”
James nods more than needed to and hums “You are soo right. Not to mention he's just ugly”
Sirius holds in a laugh. “And him complaining about not having a girlfriend is soo embarrassing like maybe fix your hair and then you will get one.”
You have had enough as your jaw is practically on the floor.
“Gosh! What is wrong with you two ??! You are so pathetic insulting one of your bestfriends behind his back. And none of it is even true ?? He gets good grades, wow what a crime!” You say sarcastically.
“Also how dare you talk like that about his lycanthropy. It was your choice to help him and I thought you made said choice because you were good friends but clearly NOT! There is nothing wrong with him being a werewolf. Obviously I wish he didn't have to go through all of it but the fact that he does should not influence our friendships.”
“Also..ARE YOU CRAZY????” You turn to James. “Since when has anyone on this damn planet ever even thought he was ugly?? We both know he is one of- no, THE, most attractive guy in this school. And you have no right to insult him for not having a girlfriend. First of all he doesn't need one. Second of all any girl would be blessed to date him. I think I would quite literally pass out if I had the chance.” You mumbled out the last part not so quietly. “And his hair is lovely!” you finally finish with a stomp.
James and Sirius have a devilish grin as they share a knowing look at one another. In unison they say, “We know!” and turn the corner. Your left disheveled and confused. “W-what just happened..” you mumble to yourself.
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
Remus leaves his potions glass gleefully as he passed his quiz with flying colors. James shoves him a slip of paper and runs off with Sirius round the corner. He rolls his eyes and slowly walks unfolding the parchment. In James' horrid handwriting it reads:
“Bout to help you get some!!!!!!!!! (with a poorly drawn smiley face) Please wait by the corner and listen in!! BE SILENTT!!”
Remus’s face is dusted with a light pink shade from embarrassment and heads to the corner quietly to wait.
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
At first he is hurt. Why are his friends saying these things? He can't even fathom what they are saying and while he tries to process he hears Sirius holding in a laugh quite obviously. His eyes widen realizing what they are doing. Then, it starts. You ramble on and on praising his name like he is crafted by some god. His face had never felt more warm as he holds his hands to his cheeks feeling the heat.
When you start going on about his looks he sinks down on the wall now hiding his face in his knees grinning like an idiot. When he hears you softly confess to wishing you could date him he has to cover his mouth with his hands not knowing whether a gasp or a shriek of delight would come out.
He then here's footsteps as James and Sirius pass by him winking. He swiftly gets up and is left to decide, does he:
Run after James and Sirius to likely murder them.
Or
Turn the corner and melt into your arms.
He for once chooses the choice that was most risky and whips round the corner. Seeing you made him more hot and red then he thought was possible. Before you could even process him showing up he hugs you tight.
◛♡*:ꔫ:*➶。
You instantly recognized the tall figure in front of you but before you could even process he scoops you into a hug. You two have hugged before but this was.. different. Something was off. There was no longer any space between your bodies. He had been squeezing you so tight that you were fully pressed into him and even had been pulled off the ground ever so slightly. While you wished you could be held that way forever, he distanced himself from you and said a little too quickly, “I think I'm in love with you.” Before you could respond he took a step closer, his actions moving faster than his words.
“Would you let me kiss you?”
Likewise your actions moved quicker than your words and you tipped your toes, wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him softly.
When you separate quickly scanning his face for any ounce of regret you instead find a face buzzing with excitement. He lifted you off the ground to his height and kissed you, one hand now resting on your lower back and one on your arse. Your hands were still wrapped around his neck but one traveled to his hair. The kiss was passionate but not rough. Not fast but not slow. It was perfect. You two clicked. As the kiss parted only for air you looked up into his eyes. He did the same. You started giggling and hid your face into his chest. “What?” He says with a laugh. “I love you.” You say into him. “What was that?" he teases. You looked up at him with the widest grin “I love you.”
“I know.” He says softly moving your chin upwards so he can kiss you again.

SLEEP, MY LOVE ━━━ REMUS LUPIN
Tumblr media
summary: Remus accidentally finds himself fallen asleep on you during a long road trip as he pleads for you to do the same
parings: f!reader x Remus Lupin, established relationship,
a/n: so this is actually my first time writing a one shot, but definitely not my first time writing. Sometimes I just have scenarios I make up that I can't add into my fics, so I've decide to spew 'em out here. If you find this, then uhmmmm enjoy?
Tumblr media
IT HAD BEEN A WHILE since you'd taken a nice long road trip, and you wouldn't have been so much opposed to it if you weren't shoved into a large car with 8 other people. Far to many people in your opinion.
It was all Lily's idea of course, we should all leave this monotonous life for a quick getaway to the country side she said, it's no fun to be couped up in this disgusting apartment she said.
And even if you enjoyed the drive as you stuck your head out the open window, you just couldn't wait to get home to the busying streets. You were done smelling the outings of donkeys and cows.
So you sat, squished in a car filled with duffels and bags, and of course your friends. James and Lily took it upon themselves to occupy the front the seats, James giving Lily the luxury of being his passenger princess, in charge and having access to the radio in which she absolutely blasted Fleetwood Mac to the detests of James who begged to switch it back to the station where they'd just played some Bowie.
Of course he couldn't argue any further, she'd get what she'd want every time, to the full and whole detests of everyone else.
In the complete back row you could barely hear the slops as Dorcas and Marlene were all over each other, the disgust of Mary and Peter as they tried squeezing themselves far up the other side far away from the pair.
spews of, "Can you two just get a room!"
with snaps of, "You say that as if we could,"
Finally in the middle aisle, the calmest one in fact, you sat with Sirius and Remus. Sirius, knocked out like a light, sprawled his legs across both of your laps, and much to your annoyance as you were sat at the end his feet ended in yours, kicking and digging into you.
Having enough your shoved his legs onto the floor, earning an angry groan and mumble from his mouth, you simply rolled your eyes and continued to look out the window, anchoring your head on your hand which leaned itself on the ledge.
To your surprise you felt a new weight left on your shoulder. Turning your head to see what new accompanied your skin, soft brown hairs tickled you at your neck. Remus' head, along with the rest of his upper body, leaned into you at your side.
You softly smiled as you took him in. His cheek squished up against you as his mouth was only so slightly open. His chest, displaying a clean red jumper, floated up and down, and one of his legs below entangled with yours, stretched out from his height.
You could've sworn that James hitting the large speed bump with out realizing was to take this moment away from you on purpose, and not just another silly mistake, because just as everything jumped in the car Remus' eyes fluttered open before he let his lids fall down into a squint.
He woke up and looked around with his eyes in a small daze before settling on you. Figuring out that he'd squished you against the window with his nap he furrowed his brows.
"M'sorry," he muttered with a scratch from his tiredness, lifting his head away from you.
Your lips now slightly turned down in the corners, "It's okay," you uttered, taking your fingertips to his head, smoothing his hair back into place, "Didn't bother me."
Remus looked at you rather fondly, as he cocked his head you flushed from his gaze. "Yer sweet y'know that?" he mumbled. A smile fought at your frown, which you painfully tried to suppress.
Ignoring his comment you urged him on, "You should go back to sleep, love."
The boy squinted his eyes at you in suspicion, "Well are you gonna sleep?" he asked. You laughed a soft laugh through your nose.
"I don't feel tired, Rem," you said, which was much clearly a lie, the dark circles around your eyes told him as much. After all, you could never fall asleep on road trips.
Though this wasn't the same for Remus, you desperately need him to have some sleep. The two of you regretting your nightly outings from the past week.
He fully picked up his head, which now loomed right over yours. He raised an eyebrow at your statement, catching you in your lies. "What will it take to getcha to rest ya'eyes?"
"Well a queen sized bed for starts," you teased, making Remus' face fall in disappointment of your jokes.
Turning his whole torso towards you he brought his hand up to your face as he pressed his palm against your eyes, leaving you to see nothing but complete darkness.
"Rem," you whined.
"Hush, yer gonna sleep now," he quieted.
You sighed, "This is stupid." Taking his hand away in defeat Remus rolled his eyes. You wouldn't budge, but unlike James, he could stand his ground far longer than him.
Trying to get him to stop worrying you tried to assure him "I'll sleep once we get home," but that only earned you a scoff of disbelief as Remus shook his head.
"Oh we both know you're not going to do that, darling," So subtly your lips twitched at the name, and Remus always took account to notice. "-besides, we've still got like six hours, hm?"
You puckered your lips and moved them to the side, deciding whether you would let your eyes even blink for an extra two seconds. And once again the brows on Remus' face knitted together in concern, "Please, my love, promise me you'll try getting some rest,"
Remus always had a way of tugging at your heartstrings, especially when calling you names, but you were not yet set on sleeping. Besides, how could you sleep when the beauty of trees and blooming fields whipped past you.
You only caved when Remus looked down at you in a plead, his long lashes fluttering at you as he whispered, "F'me?" Because when it came to everything, you'd do anything if it was for him.
With a huff you scrunched up your face, letting him know you'd crack. He grew a wide grin, he knew what he was doing. "Fine. For you," you grumbled.
He gripped the sides of your face with both his hands as he pressed his lips to your temple. Your stomach fluttered as he praised, "That's m'girl,"
Just as swiftly, he brought his lips down to your own, planting a soft kiss as you brought your hands to wrap around his wrists. Just then the two of you heard a large annoyed groan from behind you.
Sneaking your eyes over the seats you saw Peter drag his hands down his face, "Not you two, too!" he complained. You giggled turning back as Remus captured you in his arms, resting his chin atop your head.
You closed your eyes as you exhaled, feeling your body relax. Remus found your hand and entwined his fingers in yours as he gave you one last kiss on the back of your hand and he hushed, "Thank you, darling,"

A Lesson in the Patronus Charm
Pairings: Professor!Remus Lupin x Student!Reader
Tumblr media
Plot: In the late hours at Hogwarts, you seek Professor Lupin's help to master the Patronus charm.
Warnings: age gap (reader is of age), fluff
_____________________________________________________
The Gryffindor common room was cloaked in a hushed stillness, the flickering fire casting dancing shadows on the walls. The soft snores of your fellow students echoed in the air as they peacefully slept, undisturbed by the weight that rested heavily on your shoulders. Your frustration had reached a boiling point; you couldn't master the Patronus charm, and the thought of facing the looming Dementors during the upcoming practical exams sent shivers down your spine.
Tossing and turning in your bed had proved futile, so you slipped out of the dormitory, determined to seek the guidance of the one person who could help—Professor Remus Lupin. Clad in your Hogwarts robes and clutching your wand, you navigated the darkened corridors, haunted by the ghostly glow of your own Lumos charm.
As you approached the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, doubt gnawed at your resolve. What if you were interrupting his rest? What if he was busy with preparations for the next day's classes? The anxiety swirled within you like a tempest, but the urgency to conquer the Patronus charm propelled you forward.
Gently, you rapped on the classroom door, the sound echoing through the quiet corridor. A nervous energy pulsed through you as you waited for a response. What if he didn't hear you? What if—
"Come in," Lupin's voice called from the other side.
Your heart skipped a beat, and you slowly pushed the door open. The room was bathed in the soft glow of a few candles, revealing Professor Lupin hunched over a desk strewn with parchment and quills. He looked up from his papers, a warm smile gracing his tired features.
"Ah, Miss L/N," he greeted, setting aside the papers. "What brings you here at this late hour?"
The warmth of his smile melted away your fears, and you stepped further into the room. "Professor, I've been struggling with the Patronus charm. I couldn't sleep, and I thought… I thought maybe you could help."
Remus' eyes softened with understanding. "Of course, I'm happy to help. The Patronus charm is a challenging one. Have a seat."
You took a deep breath, finding a chair across from his desk. As you shared your frustration and fears, Lupin listened attentively, offering words of encouragement. The flickering candlelight reflected in his eyes, casting a glow that seemed to chase away the darkness that clung to you.
With a reassuring nod, Remus stood and walked over to a small table where his wand rested. "Let's work on it together. Focus on that happy memory, and let the magic flow through you."
Frustration gnawed at you as you struggled to conjure your Patronus. Despite Professor Lupin's patient guidance, the ethereal form remained elusive, slipping through your grasp like elusive mist. Lupin observed silently, his eyes filled with encouragement.
"Focus on a positive memory," he suggested gently. "Something that fills you with joy."
Closing your eyes, you sought a happy moment, and his smiling face emerged, a beacon of warmth. As the incantation left your lips, a silver wolf materialized beside you, but the success was bittersweet as a tinge of disappointment lingered.
Lupin, however, said nothing, only offering a supportive nod. With a flick of his wand, he cast his own Patronus—a majestic wolf that joined yours in the magical space. The two wolves locked eyes, and without a word, they chased each other playfully, a dance of magic and connection that spoke volumes.
The room felt alive with the energy of their movements, and as the wolves settled down, Lupin's gaze met yours. There was a shared understanding in the silent exchange, a recognition of the unspoken emotions that had manifested in the form of their Patronuses. The wolves lay side by side, the air infused with a quiet, intimate connection that transcended words. In that moment, the boundaries between teacher and student blurred, a connection beyond the realms of academia. The air crackled with unspoken tension as your eyes locked onto Professor Lupin's.
"Love, in all its forms, shapes the Patronus," Lupin said, his voice a soft murmur that filled the quiet room. "It's not confined to one type. It's about the depth of the connection, the strength of the emotion."
The mention of love had cast a new light on the situation, and the room seemed to shrink as you both sat in the aftermath of his revelation. The weight of his words hung between you, a palpable connection.
Your heart thudded in your chest as you absorbed his words, realizing that the reason your Patronus took the form of a wolf was the profound love and admiration you held for him. The revelation stirred a mixture of emotions within you—gratitude for his guidance, a deep admiration for the man before you, and, perhaps, a sentiment that dared to flirt with the edges of romantic affection.
As if sensing the unspoken words lingering in the air, Lupin's gaze intensified. "And what about you, Miss L/N? What memory fueled your Patronus?"
You hesitated, then took a deep breath. "It's your smile, Professor. Every time I've struggled or felt lost, your kindness and your smile have been my anchor. I… I love the way you make me feel."
A soft, tender smile played on Lupin's lips, and he reached across the desk, his hand covering yours. The touch sent a jolt through you, and for a moment, the world outside ceased to exist.
"Love takes many forms," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But we must tread carefully. The roles we play in each other's lives are defined by these walls and the rules they hold."
A moment of uncertainty passed between you, the forbidden nature of the emotions hanging in the air like the scent of a forbidden potion. Yet, in that moment, the walls seemed to crumble, leaving only the vulnerability of two souls drawn together by fate.
You locked eyes once more, the unspoken understanding lingering in the gaze you shared. "I can't deny what I feel, Professor Lupin," you confessed, your voice wavering with a mix of courage and vulnerability. "And I sense something in you too, something beyond the role of a teacher."
Lupin's thumb brushed gently over the back of your hand, and he sighed, a mixture of longing and resignation in his eyes. "Miss L/N, the path we're on is fraught with challenges. I won't jeopardize your future or my position as your teacher."
Your heart sank, but you nodded in understanding. "I'll graduate soon, Professor. And when I do, if you'll have me, I'll wait for you."
Lupin's gaze softened, and he nodded. "Patience is a virtue, they say. If it's meant to be, we'll find our way to each other when the time is right."
As the moon bathed the room in its soft glow, you couldn't help but feel a sense of hope mingled with the ache of longing. The forbidden romance had been acknowledged, the connection deepened, and the promise of a future hung in the air, leaving you both caught in the delicate dance between what was and what could be.

full moon remus
so this is just smth I wrote for a fic once and never used so here you go (found it in my notes app)
warnings: nsfw
you were surprised by how sexual remus actually was. around a new moon he could be sweet and passionate but if it was the week before the full moon he’d rail the shit out of you, no matter what, fuck you dumb, eat you out, no, scratch that, devour you for hours straight, his tongue lapping repeatedly, making you see stars, nearly pass out from exhaustion and scream his name in ecstasy. he was quite literally obsessed with the way you tasted. eating you out was his favourite thing in the world and if you took that from him- oh boy.
‘one more, pretty girl.’
that’s what he’d say to you.
‘one more, dovey. for me?’
‘just one more, darling.’
and it was always one more with him. that was not the only thing he told you. you were his, and only his. that’s what he told you and you agreed dumbly, loving the attention he payed to you, the way he spoiled you and every part of you body. he was covering you with hickeys, turning your legs into jello, as he said, and the marks would be visible for days to come, his words again.
‘so everyone knows who you belong to.’
he was rough, pounding into you at a brutal pace and impossibly deep. and you loved it, every second of it.
‘You’re not walking, love. Just accept it.’
that was where you found yourself often; occupying the boys’ dorm, (only sometimes) a silencing spell on the door and a sock over the handle. you were a sweaty and moaning mess of his doing. and he’d keep fucking you against the headboard, fucking you brainless, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips while his forest green eyes, full of lust, were locked with yours, which were begging him for a break of the overstimulation and edging at the same time. after he was done ruining you, he’d return to being the sweet and innocent boy everybody saw him as, treating you like his princess, acting like he didn’t whisper all those things in your ear nor degrade you nor make you kneel for him. remus would run a bath for the both of you after, take good care of you, wash your hair and body for you, draw you close to his chest, whisper quiet ‘I love you’s and if you fell asleep he’d carry you to bed without waking you up, no matter the circumstances.
he spoiled you in every way possible.
(a/n: now I’m kinda cringing at this, hope you like it tho. could you maybeeeee 👉🏻👈🏻 reblog bc that’s how you support writers on here????? thanks 💙 luv ya)

Order's Tension
Pairings: Older!Remus Lupin x Fem!Reader
Plot:
Warnings: Small angst, fluff
A/N: I adore Tonks, I really do. BUT I needed to use her as the plot. Please forgive me!
________________________________________________________
As you step through the door of Grimmauld Place 12, the air crackles with a mixture of tension and camaraderie. The dimly lit hallway is filled with the hushed voices of fellow members of the Order of the Phoenix. Your heart pounds with a mixture of excitement and apprehension as you take in the faces of the brave witches and wizards gathered for a common cause.
Spotting familiar faces, you exchange nods and greetings with the others. The room is alive with the energy of reunion, and you're pleasantly surprised to find yourself embraced by old friends and allies. Among them is your former professor, Remus Lupin, who looks up from a conversation and locks eyes with you. A warm smile crosses his face, and you feel a sense of comfort.
Determined to catch up with Remus, you navigate through the crowd, making your way to him. As you approach, a voice interrupts your thoughts. "Remus, darling!" Turning, you find Tonks rushing towards him, a vivacious energy surrounding her. She wraps her arms around him, and you can't help but feel a pang of annoyance. It seems Tonks is as attention-seeking as ever.
Suppressing your feelings, you take a seat across from Remus, who sends you a sympathetic look. "It's been too long," he says, genuine warmth in his voice. You smile back, cherishing the opportunity to reconnect with someone who had a profound impact on your life.
The meeting begins, and you find yourself engrossed in discussions about the dark times ahead. Remus contributes valuable insights, and you're reminded of why you admired him as a teacher. However, as the hours drag on, impatience builds within you, and you can't help but squirm in your seat.
Finally, Sirius Black, the host of the gathering, decides to adjourn the meeting. "It's late, and we've got a big day tomorrow. You're all welcome to stay the night." The offer hangs in the air, and you notice a few members excusing themselves. However, you, Remus, Tonks, and the Weasley couple decide to stay.
With a genuine offer to help, you approach Molly Weasley, who's bustling around preparing beds for the night. As you and Molly set up the sleeping arrangements, you steal glances at Remus, who is engaged in conversation with Tonks. She's practically hanging on his every word, and you can't help but roll your eyes discreetly.
The contrast between your earnest conversation with Molly and the playful interaction between Tonks and Remus is palpable. As the night wears on, you can't shake the feeling that Tonks is deliberately monopolizing Remus's attention. Despite the annoyance simmering within you, you maintain a pleasant demeanor, determined not to let it ruin the camaraderie of the Order of the Phoenix.
While you and Molly set up the beds, it becomes evident that Molly, with her keen observational skills, has picked up on the undercurrents in the room. She glances over at you, a knowing twinkle in her eyes as she tucks a strand of graying hair behind her ear.
"Oh dear, I couldn't help but notice Remus and Tonks. She seems to fancy him quite a lot," she says, her tone filled with slight mischief.
You pause for a moment, surprised by Molly's perceptiveness. "Oh, yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder how that happened," you reply with a casual smile, attempting to downplay the situation.
Molly, however, isn't easily fooled. She continues arranging pillows, her eyes narrowing playfully. "I doubt for very long. Remus is a good man, and you've always had a soft spot for him, haven't you?"
Blushing slightly, you nod, realizing that Molly sees more than you thought. "Yes, well, it's been a while since we've seen each other. But, it's not like that. We're just friends."
Molly raises an eyebrow. "Just friends, hm? Are you sure there's nothing you're not saying?"
You sigh. "Okay, fine. Maybe I'm a little jealous. It just seems like she's always trying to get his attention. It's rather annoying, if you ask me," you huff, crossing your arms.
"Ah, jealousy is a tricky emotion, especially when feelings are involved. But, dear, let me assure you, Remus is quite interested in you," Molly says understandingly.
"Really?" you ask, surprised
Molly smiles. "Yes, really. I've seen the way he looks at you, the way he's been trying to seek your company. Give it some time, dear. Things have a way of falling into place."
You smile wide before it falls again. "It's just been years since I've seen him. I haven't seen him since I left Hogwarts. I mean, between you and me, I've always had a wee crush on him. But he was my teacher. It's kind of taboo and all."
Molly nods understandingly. "I get that, I do. But you're not his student anymore. You're a young woman and well, you can't help who you love. What's ten years anyway?"
"Thanks, Molly. I appreciate your wisdom," you reply, a small smile forming on your face.
"It's what mothers do, my dear. Now, why don't you go and enjoy your time with Remus?" Molly says, patting your hand.
Grateful for your talk with Molly, you take a deep breath, determined to enjoy the camaraderie of the evening and not let the complicated dynamics distract you from the greater purpose that brought everyone together in the first place.
With Molly's wise words echoing in your mind, you join the others in the common room. The atmosphere is lively, filled with laughter and snippets of conversation. You decide to focus on the shared camaraderie and the bonds forged in the face of a common enemy.
As the night progresses, you find yourself engaged in conversations with various members of the Order. Remus joins in, occasionally stealing glances in your direction. Tonks, on the other hand, seems to be oblivious to anything other than her playful banter with Sirius and the others. You can't help but appreciate Molly's advice as you navigate the delicate social dynamics.
You finally find time to exchange polite small talk with Remus. Tonks, however, seems to be on a mission to keep Remus's attention solely on her. As you catch her giving you a sly smirk, you decide to gracefully excuse yourself, claiming fatigue from the long day. With a polite nod, you make your way to your room and begin to prepare for bed.
Alone in the quiet room, you take a moment to collect your thoughts. Determined to stay focused on the task at hand, you make your way to the kitchen for a glass of water.
In the dimly lit kitchen, you find Remus, who has seemingly taken a moment to escape the chatter as well. He offers you a small smile, and you reciprocate, grateful for the chance to have a quiet moment away from the prying eyes.
"I appreciate your insights during the meeting," you say, striking up a conversation. "It's comforting to know we have experienced minds like yours on our side."
Remus nods, his eyes reflecting a mix of weariness and determination. "We're all in this together. It's important to share our knowledge and support each other."
The conversation flows naturally, and you find solace in Remus's company. The weight of the looming battle is temporarily lifted as you discuss memories, experiences, and the shared purpose that binds everyone in the Order of the Phoenix.
As you return to your room, Remus follows suit, the soft glow of the dimly lit corridor casting shadows on his tired but kind face. The air is filled with an unspoken tension, and you decide to break it with a light-hearted comment.
"So, what's the story with you and Tonks?" you ask, feigning casual curiosity. "You two seem quite… close."
Remus lets out a sigh, his expression briefly clouded. "Tonks can be a handful, to say the least. She means well, but sometimes she doesn't quite grasp the subtleties of a situation."
You raise an eyebrow, detecting a hint of annoyance in his tone. "Is that so? What subtleties are we talking about, Professor Lupin?"
He chuckles, running a hand through his graying hair. "Let's just say she has a way of being, well, persistent."
You decide to playfully tease him. "Persistent? Or is it that she finds no one else in the room more interesting than our dear Remus Lupin?"
A sly smile graces his lips, and he turns to face you. "Well, I can't deny that there's something captivating about the company I find myself in tonight."
You blush at the unexpected compliment, but quickly recover, deciding to steer the conversation in a lighter direction. "Is that your way of saying I'm saving you from Tonks's overzealous company?"
Remus laughs, a warm sound that fills the room. "Let's just say you're a welcome reprieve."
Emboldened by his response, you decide to be more direct. "Well, I must say, Professor Lupin, I always did find you quite handsome and charming."
Remus's eyes widen in surprise, and a faint blush creeps across his cheeks. "Flattery will get you everywhere," he replies with a playful twinkle in his eye.
The exchange lingers for a moment, and you find yourself caught between embarrassment and amusement. Remus, however, seems to be enjoying the banter. "You've grown bolder over the years, haven't you?" he teases.
Attempting to brush off your embarrassment, you give a shy smile. "Perhaps. But only when faced with particularly charming professors."
Remus laughs again, the sound echoing through the room. "Well, in that case, I'm honored to be the subject of your boldness."
The moment lingers, and for a brief instant, the complexities of the world outside the room fade away. In the quiet of Grimmauld Place, surrounded by the past and the uncertainties of the future, you share a genuine, lighthearted connection with Remus Lupin, finding peace in the midst of the storm.
The playful banter between you and Remus reaches a sweet crescendo, and as the laughter subsides, a moment of quiet intimacy hangs in the air. Without a word, you find yourselves drawn closer, the shared understanding and unspoken connection sparking between you. In the soft glow of the room, you can feel the warmth of Remus's presence.
As if guided by an invisible force, your lips meet in a stolen, gentle kiss—a whisper that speaks volumes. The world outside the room disappears for that fleeting moment, leaving only the soft exchange of affection between two souls who have weathered their own storms.
Breaking away, you both share a tender gaze, emotions dancing in the quiet spaces between you. Remus, with a faint smile on his lips, breaks the silence. "Goodnight," he murmurs, his voice carrying a mixture of gratitude and something more profound.
"Goodnight, Remus," you reply, a softness in your voice that reflects the newfound connection.
He bids you one last lingering look before retreating to his own room, leaving you with a heart that beats a little faster and a mind that swirls with the enchantment of the stolen kiss. As you settle into your bed, the echoes of the evening wrap around you, and you drift into a peaceful slumber, a sense of contentment settling in your heart amid the complexities of the Order of the Phoenix.
The early morning light filters through the dusty curtains of Grimmauld Place, casting a soft glow on the worn furniture and the quiet stillness that envelops the house. You find yourself awake before the rest of the Order, the remnants of last night's stolen kiss lingering in the recesses of your thoughts.
As you quietly make your way to the kitchen, the familiar creaks of the old floorboards echo through the silent corridors. The kitchen, though dimly lit, feels warm and inviting. You decide to prepare a simple breakfast and tea for everyone, a small gesture to foster a sense of unity among the diverse members of the Order.
Lost in the comforting routine of preparing food, you're absorbed in the task when you hear a soft, sleepy voice behind you. "Early riser, are we?"
Startled, you turn around to find Remus Lupin standing in the doorway, his tousled hair and tired eyes giving him a charming, disheveled appearance. He offers you a half-smile, the warmth in his gaze telling of the shared connection from the night before.
"I hope you don't mind," you say, returning the smile. "I thought a bit of breakfast might lift everyone's spirits before the day ahead."
Remus steps into the kitchen, the scent of brewing tea and the promise of a new day filling the air. "It's a thoughtful gesture," he remarks, watching you with appreciation. "Mind if I join you?"
"Of course not," you reply, motioning to a chair. "I was just making some tea. Sit down, I'll bring you a cup."
As you prepare a cup of tea for Remus, you notice the book you were reading the night before resting on the table. It seems he's caught sight of it as well. "Interesting choice of reading material," he comments with a curious glint in his eyes.
You chuckle, handing him the cup of tea. "I find comfort in the worlds of literature. Helps keep things in perspective, you know?"
Remus takes a sip, his eyes never leaving yours. "I couldn't agree more. Sometimes, a good book is the best company."
As you settle into a comfortable silence, you share a moment of quiet companionship. The kitchen becomes a sanctuary, a haven of connection and understanding amid the chaos of the outside world. The aroma of breakfast fills the air, and you continue to chat, the morning light weaving a tapestry of shared moments between you.
As the rest of the Order begins to stir, drawn by the scent of food and the promise of a new day, you and Remus exchange a knowing look—a silent acknowledgment of the connection that has blossomed between you.
The morning at unfolds with an unspoken understanding between you and Remus. Whether it's sharing glances across the table, exchanging quiet words, or simply being present in each other's company, the connection deepens with every passing moment. The camaraderie is undeniable, and it doesn't go unnoticed, particularly by Tonks.
As you and Remus engage in conversation, Tonks's annoyance becomes increasingly apparent. Her eyes shoot daggers in your direction, and a tension simmers beneath the surface. Unable to contain her frustration any longer, she approaches you when Remus steps away for a moment.
"Couldn't help but notice you and Remus getting cozy," Tonks says, her tone edged with a mixture of irritation and thinly veiled jealousy.
Taken aback, you respond cautiously, "We're just friends, Tonks. What's wrong with that?"
Tonks scoffs, a bitter smile playing on her lips. "Friends? Right. You may be fooling him, but you're not fooling me. I've known him for years, and I can tell when he's interested."
A surge of frustration and anger rises within you. "Tonks, you and I are both too old for your assumptions. We have more pressing matters at hand."
Tonks narrows her eyes, unconvinced. "Don't play innocent. I've seen the way he looks at you. And I won't let you take him away from me."
You feel your patience waning, and you respond with a firm tone, "Tonks, you can't claim ownership over someone's feelings. Remus is his own person, and he can decide who he wants to be around. It's not a competition."
Tonks, however, remains defiant. "Well, maybe it should be. I won't let you come between us."
Your frustration boils over, and you reply, "Tonks, I won't participate in some petty rivalry. If Remus has feelings for you, let him decide. But I won't apologize for forming a genuine connection with someone. It's not a crime."
Before Tonks can retort, Remus returns to the room, sensing the tension. He looks between the two of you, concern furrowing his brow. "Is everything alright?"
Tonks shoots you one last glare before forcing a smile. "Just a friendly chat. Right, Y/N?"
You nod, a forced smile mirroring hers. "Just a chat."
Remus senses the lingering tension in the room as Tonks departs, and his gaze shifts between you and the door she just walked through. His brow furrows, a hint of concern in his eyes, as he takes a step closer to you.
"Everything okay?" he asks, his voice soft and filled with genuine worry.
You offer a reassuring smile, attempting to downplay the confrontation with Tonks. "Just a minor disagreement, nothing to worry about."
Remus nods, but there's a flicker of understanding in his eyes. He's well aware of Tonks's feelings, having navigated the delicate balance of their friendship for quite some time. His gaze lingers on you for a moment longer, a silent acknowledgment of the connection that has blossomed between you.
"I hope it didn't ruin your morning," Remus says, attempting to shift the focus away from the uncomfortable encounter.
You shake your head. "Not at all. Let's not let it overshadow the time we've spent catching up."
Remus offers a small, appreciative smile. "I couldn't agree more."
As the day unfolds, you and Remus continue to share moments of camaraderie. Tonks keeps her distance, seemingly resigned but still casting glances your way. Remus, however, appears unfazed by the situation, choosing instead to focus on the genuine connection he feels with you.
Later that afternoon, as the activities of the day wind down, Remus seeks you out in a quieter corner of Grimmauld Place. The air is heavy with the weight of unspoken words, and Remus, with a contemplative expression, finally addresses the underlying tension.
"I need you to know that I've always been aware of Tonks's feelings," he admits, his gaze steady. "But I've tried to make it clear that I don't reciprocate those feelings. It's just… complicated."
You nod, understanding the complexities of the situation. "I don't want to complicate things for you, Remus. If you need space or if you want to address things with Tonks, I'll understand."
He appreciates your understanding, but there's a sincerity in his eyes that surprises you. "The truth is, I've always valued our friendship. Tonks is a dear friend, but I can't deny the feelings I feel for you."
Your heart skips a beat at his honesty, and you take a moment to process his words. "Remus, I don't want to come between you and your friendships. But I appreciate your honesty."
Remus reaches out to gently touch your arm, a reassuring gesture. "I've spent too long denying myself the chance for genuine connection. I won't let fear dictate my choices anymore, especially not now."
The next morning unfolds in the cozy chaos of the kitchen at Grimmauld Place. The aroma of breakfast fills the air as you and Remus share a quiet moment, lost in each other's company. Remus's arms encircle you, creating a sense of warmth and security that transcends the tumultuous world outside.
As you lean against the counter, sipping tea, Remus places a gentle kiss on your forehead, his touch a silent affirmation of the connection you share. The early morning light spills through the windows, casting a soft glow on the intimate tableau.
Unbeknownst to you, Tonks enters the kitchen, her hair still a vibrant shade of bubblegum pink. However, the moment she lays eyes on you and Remus, her face contorts with a mix of anger and frustration. In an instant, her hair morphs into a fiery shade of red, a clear reflection of her tumultuous emotions.
Remus, ever perceptive, glances over his shoulder, catching Tonks's eye. The tension in the room becomes palpable as she glares at the two of you, her expression a mix of jealousy and resentment.
You exchange a knowing look with Remus, and he lets out a sigh, as if anticipating the storm that's about to brew. Tonks, unable to contain her emotions, finally speaks up with an edge in her voice.
"Well, this is cozy," she remarks, her eyes flickering between you and Remus. "Am I interrupting something?"
Remus, unfazed, releases a soft chuckle. "Just enjoying a quiet morning, Tonks. Care to join us?"
Her response is a sharp huff as she crosses her arms, clearly dissatisfied with the casual dismissal. "Don't mind me. Enjoy your cozy morning."
As Tonks storms out of the kitchen, her hair remains a fiery red, reflecting the turmoil within. You exchange a glance with Remus, who gives you a wry smile, acknowledging the awkwardness of the situation.
"Jealousy doesn't suit her well," he whispers with a playful twinkle in his eye.
You stifle a giggle, appreciating the levity he brings to the moment. "She'll get over it eventually."
And with that, you and Remus continue your quiet morning, holding onto the stolen moments of intimacy that bring solace in the midst of the brewing storms—both internal and external. The complexities of love and connection within the Order of the Phoenix persist, but for now, you find comfort in each other's arms, dismissing the fleeting storm of Tonks's jealousy with a shared smile and a knowing glance.

Hii, ty for the request!! I love rockstar!Remus so much🥹, hope you this is okay. Warnings: fluff, use of pet names and y/n, shy!reader (0.8k)
You love music, almost as much as you love your boyfriend. And you love writing music and singing. But what you don't love is too much attention on you.
You'd tried being on stage, performing, but your shyness often times resulted in some clumsy, embarrassing things for you to happen. So you're trying to stay away from performing as far as possible.
You've written a song for The Marauders, it's not the first song you've ever written for them, so you're used to just standing behind the curtains and enjoying hearing it live.
That's exactly what you're doing now. You're standing backstage with a clear view of your boyfriend.
Remus somehow looks even more hot, strumming on his bass, having the time of his life while doing so.
He sneaks a peek at you every now and then, sending a huge grin along with a wink your way. Which makes your cheeks go red every single time. Remus won't admit it, but you're pretty sure, he just loves watching you go all shy and blushy around him.
Finally, the last song, the song you've written comes up and suddenly Remus starts to grin at you, more than he usually does. And you instantly know, that he's up to something.
Sirius and James both nod at him and Remus starts to speak into the mic, while still looking at you, " everybody! Tonight, we have a very, very special person here."
You go white as a wall as soon as you hear his words. He can't seriously think, that you will come up in the stage. Not happening.
"She's written multiple songs for us. She's an incredible musician, but she's just a bit to shy. So please, everyone, help me get her on the stage," Remus gives you a reassuring smile, before he announces, " y/n, would you do us the honor and join us on the stage?"
You don't move at all, you stay frozen at the place. There's loud cheer of the fans, trying to encourage you on the stage, but you can't move.
"C'mon, y/n, we've already made a peace with the fact you're going to shame us with your talent, so make it quick," Sirius urges you on in his sweet, characteristic way, but you still don't move.
Remus is still looking at you with supportive smile, he mouths at you," c'mon sweetheart, you can do it. I'll be right besides you."
The crowd starts to chant your name ( after James and Sirius have started it) to try to get you on the stage.
You eventually give in and slowly walk onto the stage. You shyly wave at the crowd and make your way straight to Remus.
"I'm going to kill you, when we get out of here," you whisper to Remus and stand in front of his mic as he just chuckles.
You greet the crowd sheepishly and nervously fiddle with your hands on the mic, almost knocking the mic stand over. Your cheeks go even more red.
The guys start the play the tune of your song, but before you start singing Remus whispers into your ear," it's okay, just breath. You got this."
You listen to his words and take a huge breath, and then you start singing. You are so freaking nervous at first, but once the guys join you with the singing the stress leaves you almost entirely.
You actually start to enjoy the performing and by the time the song is over, you're smiling big, suddenly understand why the guys love it so much. There's something thrilling about it. The atmosphere, the fans and everything around it.
Once the song is over, you and the boys take each other's hands and bow together. But then you quickly get off the stage, your shyness still very much present.
You are taking one big breath after another, when suddenly you're lifted off of the ground by two strong hands.
You immediately recognise it's Remus as he laughs happily with you still in his arms.
"You did it! I knew, you had it in you," he says softly and proudly, while he puts you back down. He's looking at you like you have just done something very incredible (which for you, you kind of have).
"Was I okay? Wasn't it too bad?" you ask him anxiously, biting your lip.
"Okay? Are you kidding? You were amazing, we will loose many fans to you now," he teases you with affection.
"Not possible, they love your handsome faces too much, " you murmur with a smile.
Remus laughs," our handsome faces? Not our talent?"
"Yeah, maybe that too," you say cheekily, rolling your eyes at him.
Remus pokes you into your side playfully and plants a sweet kiss to your temple," very funny, dove. Now c'mon, we gotta go and celebrate this !"
Remus takes your hand in his and pulls you after him into his changing room. You talk about how it felt to be on the stage, while Remus listens to you with lovesick gaze.
