Whenever I see that take that's like "The reason fandom doesn't write about girls and exploring their characters as often is because they never get written with complexity originally" I just have to bury my face in my hands because A) Yes they fucking do it's not as often as men but complex girls do exist, you just didn't notice because you were too busy with your beloved white boy, and B) fandom will take a pure comic relief character or a slab of cardboard and if he's a white guy they'll make him the most tragic character of all time and they'll do it based on a few off moments that they read into but if she's a woman they go "Oh she's the girlboss :) She has the brain cells!!!!! She takes care of them". Like at a certain point it is no longer "women are underwritten in the source material meaning fans have no choice but to completely fucking sideline them and make them props for the men's stories" and is now "woman was underwritten in the source material and fans are not giving her more complexity because they don't fucking wanna focus on women" or worse, "woman was given complexity in the source material but the fandom shoves her to the side and makes her a prop in the men's stories"

Remember that abolish slavery meant no more slavery at all. And abolish monarchy meant no more kings at all. They were thought to be unrealistic in their time, things that went agaisnt human nature, but those activists understood that they needed a zero tolerance policy on those things.

So when we say abolish police, that means no police. When we say abolish prisons, that means no prisons. When we say abolish capitalism, that means no capitalism. It isn't unrealistic. It can't be compromised.
