Eleven years. ELEVEN YEARS. How could that even be possible? This show seems like it aired yesterday, it's so fresh in my mind. A show this special might never stop feeling like yesterday, because it's a part of me now, a part of who I am in the present. In eleven more years, I hope to still be rewatching. Happy 11 years of Gravity Falls!
Oh, and happy birthday to Stan and Ford - that's today too!

From what I've been able to find, Hagsequad seems to refer to the older characters who used to go to Hexside. Eda, Lillith, Raine, Alador, etc. And since I've explained that, I might as well ask about number 6
6. Favorite Hagsquad member?
Ah, that makes sense, thank you! Out of that list of characters, I think I have to choose Raine. Even with how little screen time they were able to in season 3, I still love what we were able to learn about their character. I love that they're a quiet and shy person who still consistently exhibits extreme bravery, a trait I feel is more commonly attributed to more extroverted characters. In fact, I would call them one of the bravest characters in the series, with how they are willing to completely sacrifice themself to stop Belos while simultaneously trying to protect everyone else from getting hurt in that process. Their sheer willpower in their final fight with Belos is incredible and heartbreaking to watch. Plus, I can't pass on some of the best (and only) nonbinary rep I've ever seen in a show aimed at kids.
Thanks for the ask!

7. Favorite palisman?
This is a tough one! My first thought was Owlbert, the OG who we haven't been able to see much of lately. Then I remembered Flapjack, the most fleshed out palisman whose story I find really touching. Ultimately, I think I would have to say Flapjack is my favorite palisman, due both to his story and his design. A close second that I do want to name, though, is Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo, Gus' palisman. That lizard is so cute and goofy, I can't help but love her.

I love that Luz had to apply to Eda's magic school. So much potential for shenanigans there. "oOoo luz you were expelled from hexside? hmmmmmmmmmm I don't know if we can admit you with that record... I personally can never imagine doing such a scandalous thing..."

"For I am the Good Witch Azura, Warrior of Peace!"
Quoting the fantasy she isn't a part of, but hopes to be.
Tumblr media
"For I am Luz the Human, Warrior of Peace!"
Including herself in the fantasy now that she has a chance, albeit with the acknowledgement she isn't a witch.
Tumblr media
"For I am the Good Witch Luz, Hunter of Monsters!"
Fully recognizing herself as a witch.
Tumblr media
"For I am the Good Witch Luz, Child of the Human Realm, Student of the Demon Realm, and Warrior of Peace!"
Acknowledging not just herself as a witch, but as a human; These are not irreconcilable, and both defy Belos despite his claims to eradicate one for the other. Luz makes sure to specify herself as the result of those around her, who helped Luz get to this point. Luz has finally achieved the fantasy, and she’s grinning this time; No need to act dignified, Luz has won and she’s allowed to have fun and enjoy it. She’s earned this.

I think that the confirmation that all of the people the Collector turned into puppets were conscious and aware the entire time may be the darkest thing in the entire series. Not only the fact that they were forced to watch everything in a completely powerless state, but imagining what that could have felt like. Could they feel their bodies as they were being manipulated, sometimes into unnatural and likely painful positions? Can you even breathe in that completely frozen state? Even if they weren't in pain, what must it have been like to be so confused and scared and not even be able to move your eyes to figure out what happened to you? The series plays with darker themes a lot but holy hell the implications of the puppets have been haunting me.

there's something about eda going from despising school to running a school that hits deep. something about rebuilding instead of destroying. something about turning anger into positive change. something about recognizing that you have the power to be better than those who hurt you. you get what i'm saying

that's Dana, right? That's definitely Dana! Between the glasses, the hair, and the eye color, that really resembles Dana and how she has drawn herself in the past. I think it's super cool that Dana got to make an appearance. The finale had so many little details intended for the biggest fans to recognize.

As the final hour approaches, I can't help but feel that my hype is tinged with sadness. Even if the show wasn't ending tonight, even if it wasn't ending for years, I don't think I would ever feel ready. The show and the community surrounding it has provided me with so much joy over the past few years. The Owl House has reminded me of the profound impact a story can have on you. Every single one of you that I've interacted with has made me smile. I will never forget about this show and the good times it has brought me.
Thanks for sticking with me, fellow weirdos. I'll see you on the other side. I can't wait to scream about the new episode with you, even if I only get to do it one last time.

Is anyone else feeling a bit worried about the theories (which are well supported in my opinion) that a large chunk of Watching and Dreaming will take place in a dream sequence? Normally I would love that, but since it's the last time I'm ever going to see these characters, I want to actually see them, y'know? Not an imaginary version of themself that exists in someone's head. Maybe it's something where they all enter a sort of dreamscape, so they will be themselves and not imagined versions. But if we only have 55 minutes left of the whole series, I want to spend every minute possible with the characters I've grown to love. The dream sequence thing makes me a bit nervous.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT ANSWER
the context of this poll: my sibling and I were debating over whether "it hit me like a truck full of bricks" was a valid and relatable way to describe an emotional response to a song. (specifically, we were debating whether or not it was better than "it hit me like a sack of wet mice," but that's a story for another time.) they think no, I think yes.
one of their arguments for why it wasn't good was that there is no difference between getting hit by a truck full of bricks and a truck without bricks. I said "no, with bricks it would be heavier" and they said "irrelevant, the truck is heavy enough on its own." I was CONVINCED that the majority would be on my side here. we made a bet, I made a poll, the rest is history.
and y'all? the majority of you agree with my sibling? what the heck!??!?? mass plays a huge role in how much something that hits you hurts you! bricks will make the truck so much heavier! you will hurt worse! why the hell would it not matter! y'all are wrong!
welp. I hope you're happy, because this is what we bet:

I hope you liked knowing me, because soon enough, this will be me:

my sibling, who is overjoyed at the results of this poll, would like to say to all of you who voted, "Thank you for the face."
don't question me, just vote. i'll explain when the poll closes in a week
