“               𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑠𝑢𝑘𝑖 ,   ”    the  name  falls  from  parted  lips ;   the  weight  of  it  heavy  in  his  throat   &   spilling  forth  suddenly ,   all  at  once ,   breaking  the  quiet  that  previously  rested  between  them .   a  heartbeat  of  pause  follows :   again ,   then  once  more ,  reflective  of  the  festering  knot  of  anxiety  that  has  made  home  in  the  hollow  of  sasaki’s  chest .   he  clears  his  throat ,   hands  unsure  what  to  do  with  themselves   &   consequently  fidgets  by  pulling  at  the  fingertips  of  his  gloved  hand .   he’s  stopped  in  the  middle  of  the  sidewalk  .   makes  a  vague  motioning  gesture  to  the  store  behind  them  half - heartedly .    “    i  just ,   i  was  wondering ...   before  we  go  home  for  the  day ,   would  you  like  to ... ?    ”    he’s  not  sure  why ,   but  the  question  feels  different  today .
