🤡 for the false belief
OH GOD, I DEADASS FORGOT ABOUT THESE LMFAO SO;
Let's start off easy (on me), and bring up how Cardichex doesn't exactly believe completely in the force. At least, not at all in any current points I have him--... he believes it to an extent, yes, but that's not including all the 'special abilities' one may gain from being force-sensitive.
He's never witnessed it personally, and the tales he hears he figures are merely overdramatic retells-- surely such things are mythical... a well fabricated lie spun to evoke fear.
Oh, he's got alot of interesting potential to have his world rocked even worse in the future if and when he is forced to realize they WEREN'T lies.

Anyways au where Archex and Finn meet up on Batuu post-TLJ and reconnect. The pair end up helping to lead to a stormtrooper rebellion due to Finn giving a speech at some point to his siblings— something passionate and well put and MOVING...
And when it's clear the stormtroopers are in and up for fighting for their freedom Finn turns to Archex because he's so used to Archex being Captain Cardinal...
Archex shakes his head and smiles fondly. Grabs Finns shoulder and tells him it's HIS turn to lead. That he can do this, Archex believes in him.

“Defect? To the Resistance?” He barks a laugh and leans back against the wall, arms crossed. “And why would I want to do something that stupid?”

@irrfahrer   (x)
Still laughing- still shrieking almost hysterically from the shock still stuck in her bones and her heart still beating so fast it hurted in her chest- Ziv, with a arm around Archex waist, helped him to limp out of the shadowy alley back into the cantina they had walked out of only twenty minutes before. twenty minutes that felt as if they had walked out of it instead hours before. The light from the cantina was bright and warm when the Tynnan helped Archex to sit down beside the door, surrounded by a circle of light like by a protective wall. Behind them the music in the cantina was so loud that Ziv felt it throb and pulse in the roots of her teeth, but loud noises were good, loud noises drowned her own panicky breathing, loud noises kept the scared and over Archex utterly worried cheeping  that was on her tongue silent, loud noises kept the Thing away.
"Awww, man with the sweet brown eyes, Love of my kriffing amnesia plagued life, person who is carving the kriffing best wood figurines kriffing ever, dream of my kriffing sleepless nights- or maybe just a by kriffing insomnia caused hallucination, I am not kriffing sure- , I am definitive not laughing because you almost died-”, going on her knees before Archex the woman grabbed the waterbottle she always carried around in her rucksack, opened it and pressed it in his hands and although her own paws were trembling she did not even took a breath between her waves of words: “-although, yeh it was kriffing hilarious to hear you wheeking like a kriffing toy when that thing grabbed you, not gonna lie, but anyway- since you are alright I am not worried and can laugh about that noise that was definitive too high of a octave to fit your voice. But what's more important now is -” It had been only twenty minutes. Before twenty minutes they had still been sitting in the Cantina playing Shah-tezh while listening to the stories of the Hangarworkers about missing cattle and the one old nightguard that had not returned to her shift this evening.
Before twenty minutes Ziv had recognized that she should not play Shah-tezh against someone with military training, and instead listened to the Hangarworkers saying that when she would leave she should not go alone for the streets were haunted by some Thing that liked cattle and Nightguards and small, little things that were easy to grab in the dark of the night. Before twenty minutes the Tynnan had jokingly hooked her elbow with Archex’ - carefully making sure she was on the side of his bad leg just to make sure he would not stumble- and walked outside into the nightair that was so cool it had cut into her lungs like sharp knifes.
Before ten minutes the dark street had reached out for them. Before ten minutes Ziv had first noticed the stench. Before ten minutes Archex, with a alot of better vision and a alot of better nightvision than she could ever have, noticed the movements in the shadows. Before ten minutes they had noticed that they were followed by something heavy.
Before five minutes they had been hastily on their way back to the cantina with the musics a faint echo vibrating in the ears and the scent of macan herb already dying the air violet. Before five minutes the big hand grabbed for the back of Archex jacket. Before five minutes the stench had been so thickly in the air Ziv could barely even breath, but the Cargoboxes that had been standing at the side of the alley and were suddenly flying towards the Thing, crushing against it like thrown by a invisible catapult, were still aimed good enough that the Thing let go of Archex. “-that we know that this is not a kriffing ghost story but if it can kriffing grab you,we can kriffing hunt it down, so see the bright side! You were not kriffed over by a kriffing scaretale!”, the Tynnanleaned back, breathing in for what felt like the first time since twenty minutes. The cold air hurted in her throat and she felt as if she was about to cry: “What I mean is, what grabbed you was not a ghost, it was a kriffing Coruscani Ogre! Did you ever heard what the Empire used those for?! Its a kriffing Coruscani  Ogre!”
𓅚
Admittedly, Archex should have figured things would have gone wrong. Every ghost story seemed to come from something rather than nothing, and if the locals were wary about something it meant you should pay attention. He had hoped that perhaps they’d be lucky-- but the idea of luck actually existing was one that was challenged ever since Archex had been pulled out of the Order.
He could argue that he was too distracted to pick up on too much of the conversations around him, and honestly he had been. But he considered that no excuse, especially after reality had come crashing down when he’d picked up on the fact that they were not alone. By that point, it was already too late.
Archex had honestly figured he was going to die, right then and there. That after everything he’d struggled through and fought to get some semblance of a life after being rescued from an organization that would have been the death of him sooner rather than later, he was going to die to a ghost story of all things. Be just another whisper of caution on the lips of those who lived here-- if they even bothered to acknowledge he’d gone missing as others had.
He still isn’t certain he understands what had happened. One second he was staring death in the face, frozen with the sudden shock and terror brought with the situation and the next he was crashing back down to the ground as something heavy seemed to hit the beast. He wasn’t certain what to think of the situation, and didn’t stop to try and figure it all out in the heat of the moment. In a situation like this acting first and looking back on the finer details is what was most likely to keep you alive.
His bad leg hurt more than ever after the impact, but thankfully adrenalin helped him with getting away from the creature along with Ziv. Though the effort of it all left him short of breath and desperately trying to catch it once they finally deemed it safe enough to stop and recover.
“What--?” The word was barely managed as figures curl gratefully over the water bottle. Though he still needed a moment to try and recover. After a few more breaths as deep as he could manage, Archex shook his head in disbelief.
“Are you saying you want to hunt that thing?” Years ago, he’d likely had agreed with such a concept without hesitation. It was terrorizing people and something evidently needed to be done before it killed anymore. But the idea of doing such these days... “If I didn’t feel the damned thing squeeze me, I’d almost think it’d been you squeezed senseless... what are we suppose to do against that?”

@hunting-songs:  "A mhmmm-”, there was a knowing smile cutting over Senritsus round face and she chuckle amused over a joke that only she could hear. Her short fingers tapped a small melody on the table and she had tilted her head to the side, listening attentive and looking at a spot somwhere above the others shoulder: “-Little bird told me I should ask you, if I am looking for folk-songs I had yet not heard? Does the little bird has told the truth or do I have to be disappointed? Don´t hold back, my little heart can handle disappointments, though it would hurt, I am sure."
Tumblr media
The question had the werewolf tilting his head noticeably in confusion-- though it was amusing to note the woman was bringing up folk-songs to someone with an obvious punk aesthetic. A grin paints Archex’s features, hazel hues sharp as they regarded Senritsus, “While I’ve certainly indulged in and even enjoyed folk-songs, I never quite made any personally, I’m afraid. Couldn’t exactly find a good balance between that and what my old band usually did. It’s a shame, really. Could have been interesting I’m sure.”

aetcrnus:
IT WAS ALMOST TIME TO MAKE HIS EXIT.    He knew his time being around the city was almost up,  he had known such thing for a little while by now.    He could stay only for so long before people would start questioning,  or someone would get curious and try to pry into his past,  one that was held behind a heavily guarded door.    And yet,  despite having done such thing over and over again with nothing much of a sorrowful smile accompanying his departure,  this time around felt different.    Dick almost felt as if he had found his place in the world,  one he didn’t even knew he could even dream to have.
Perhaps he could stay for a little longer.    A thought that so easily was dismissed the moment the fight broke out,  part of it was his fault,  he should have just kept going,  ignoring them but something that was said had him freeze for a moment too long.    No one should have known about his past,  or rather,  no one from his past should be there,  and yet.    Instincts to protect himself kicking in.    It was all a blur from there on,  till the blade of the knife gleamed under the not so distant lights from the circus itself.
Braced for a hit that never came because the all too familiar ringleader stepped in.    But there was confusion crossing his features at the sound of footsteps running away,  but it only took a beat longer for the realization to dawn on him when he noticed the knife’s blade very much lodged inside the older man.    A muttered curse,  or rather a string of curses,  foot bringing him closer to Archex.    ❝  What were you thinking  ?  ❞    He usually wouldn’t dare talking like that to the person who gave him a chance to work in the circus,  but there was worry laced with each and every of his word,  and for once he was more worried with the current predicament than manners.
Tumblr media
❝  We need to go to the hospital before —  ❞    The sentence cut off,  words swallowed back down as he watched the man remove the knife like it wasn’t that big of a deal;  like the wound wasn’t a fatal one and he could bleed out.    ❝  Fuck,  you can’t just do that !  ❞    Disbelief so openly gracing his features.    ❝  Did you already lost enough blood for you to have gone delirious  ?  ❞    He wanted to reach for the wound,  to press it and just call an ambulance,  but there was part of him that was questioning the whole ordeal,  a voice in the back of his mind telling him to pay attention because things weren’t as they seemed.
A scoff followed Archex’s question,  as if his couple of cut and bruises were much to think about when they would be gone by morning,  ❝  Are you really asking me that,  now  ?  ❞    It was only then that it clicked,  just how strange the situation was,  the way the older man,  despite just having been stabbed,  wasn’t fazed at all,  yes,  it was easy to notice that it had hurt but not as fatally as it should have been.    Brows furrowing,  one too many questions starting to form in Dick’s mind,  one of the loudest being if he was like him,  but that couldn’t be possible and he couldn’t risk exposing himself,  and so he settled for something else,  ❝  What is going on here  ?  ❞
𓅚
“I was thinking that someone in my family needed protection,” Initially when he’d not been undead, he’d always scoffed at the use of the word family when referring to a job. But the circus was different than any major (or even minor) corporation that he’d ever worked for. Archex always strived to make sure anyone who decided to join felt at home, and realized that whenever he chose to use the word he genuinely meant it. Even if someone wasn’t certain they’d stay, or chose to leave sooner than anticipated Archex always made sure they knew they were welcome to return-- the only time he wouldn’t is if he’d ran into trouble with someone and had to kick them out.
That’s yet to happen, for which he’s very grateful.
Raising his hand not holding the knife to gently ward off Dick’s concern (for all the effort may be worth very little) Archex offered the other a wide grin, “It’s fine. It looks worse than it is.” Usually such words were used to shrug off genuine injuries by some people, but considering it was only a matter of hours before his body stitched itself up they were genuine in this case. Fingers curl faintly as Archex took note of the inky-black blood-like substance that had coated his fingers, and hazel hues cast down to his shirt with an annoyed frown.
“Can’t say the same for my shirt, unfortunately.” A bit of a joke, attempting to lighten up the situation if just a little bit. Considering the weight of the secret he’d just exposed, with or without explanation, it was something likely necessary. Not everyone reacted positively. Archex knew he had to brace himself for that very possibility.
“... look, try not to freak out...” Probably not the best words ever used when leading up to a reveal in a more dramatic fashion, but he really couldn’t figure a better way to lead into it. The last thing he wanted was to chase Dick away. At least the man wasn’t capable of seeing his true look, as pictures and videos tended to reveal. A sigh slips free, and Archex slowly turns around-- knife tucking away to try and showcase he wasn’t a threat. The inky blood had already slowed and stopped leaking by this point, but it was visible enough in the stain it left on Archex’s clothing, “I’m... not exactly alive in the same sense anyone else may think. And no, I’m not a zombie and I don’t eat people-- just the same food anyone else would. Biggest difference is that I can’t exactly die.”
Hazel hues flicker across Dick’s face, watching him closely for his reaction. Archex could figure well enough now wasn’t the best time for such a thing to be admitted, but there really wasn’t room to wiggle out and circle back around. Nor could he joke it off and wait until Anastasia could help alter away the memory if Dick reacted bad.
“I’m sorry, usually I tell people under better circumstances but I couldn’t risk letting him hurt or kill you.”
