The Fine Line
Summary: Requested by @thiccboinbackpack, all is going well until a new recruit into the Volturi tries to stir the pot. All of the coven learns what happens when someone draws even a speck of blood from Felix's mate.
Word count: 800, short and sweet.
Warnings: Violence, explicit language
Author's Note: I love this person for suggesting this to me because YESSSS. I am a 🥰weakling🥰 for some hyper protectiveness.
Executions were a smooth operation for Felix, same shit different day. Some poor sod doomed for damnation by the Volturi get sentenced, he executes them, time to burn the bodies and clean up, repeat.
Now that he had a mate in the castle - a human mate no less - he took extra precautions around the time of sentencing.
"Promise me you will stay right here?"
You'd nodded, humming in agreement. "Don't worry Felix, I'll keep out of trouble."
The trial was mundane. Another vampire thinking that because they're immortal they didn't have to bow down to any rules or laws. The masters give their sentence. A swift twist of the head. Demetri at his side to assist by holding the accused in place, and another successful trial ended.
Everything was in order.
Felix liked order. Needed it.
As he was disposing the body Heidi came careening into the room, all her decor and poise gone. She locked eyes with Felix and he knew that something wasn't right.
"It's Y/N. There was another vampire - I didn't see. I didn't see him slip away from the rest of his coven."
If his heart could still beat it would have frozen. Wasting no time he dashes out of the room, following the trail of Heidi's scent to find his mate. Climbing staircases and numerous hallways the smell of blood made his throat burn.
Her blood.
His mate's precious blood.
Two lower guards had an unknown vampire pinned to the ground, his mate backed into a corner. A single cut on her cheek and a burst lip sent him over the edge; not in hunger, no, but rage.
Taking long strides to where she stood frozen in place, he took her chin gently, making her look at him. "Did he do this to you?"
You nod weekly, eyes wide in shock. Frozen. Like a deer in headlights.
His gentle, soft and caring mate in a state of such fright... It hurt him.
The culprit had to pay.
"Bring him into the throne room."
"Felix, please don't-"
"Darling, it's alright," he soothed, pressing a kiss to your forehead. His body felt like a live wire. Electrified. Ready to burst. "Demetrius..."
His friend knew him like the back of his hand. Being around someone for two thousand years will do that to a relationship. By the dark tone in Felix's voice, the blond already knew what was coming. "Just tell me what you need from me, brother "
"Take Y/N to my room. Keep her there until I return."
Felix locked eyes with Demetri. With a curt nod, he scooped up Y/N and whisked her away to safety.
Leaving Felix with the freedom to succumb to his most primal form. A predator whose mate was just harmed by a lesser life form. And like any other predator, the urge to tear apart this pathetic excuse of a vampire's stone flesh piece of piece powered each step he took towards him.
The rogue vampire blanched at the menacing expression Felix wore. "No, wait, stop! I was just hungry, come now. It's just a human-"
The pleas were cut off by a large hand crushing his windpipe. Squeezing so tight a meek squeak was the only sound the vampire could make. Bending down to eye level, pure rage glowed in Felix's eyes. "My human. Mine," he snarled."
The other guards released the rogue vampire. Anyone who knew Felix recognised that glowering stare by a mile off and knew to steer clear of it.
Quicker than the vampire could keep up with, he was spun about and pinned to the ground, arms held behind his head, freeing his throat. Growls filled the room, Felix being driven on by the need to protect. To kill. To destroy. Effortlessly, he tore the arms from the vampire's body, the sound of a cracking boulder echoing in his ears.
Ignoring the vampire's screams, he lifted him off the ground and sunk his teeth into his neck, ripping away stone flesh until the head rolled free of his shoulders. No one hurts my mate and lives.
Y/N was curled up in Felix's bed when he returned. His expression impassive. The rush of the kill coarsing through his long-dead veins. A small half smile lite of her face. "You killed him, didn't you?"
"Of course I did," Felix huffed, joining her side in the blink of an eye. "You're only the most precious thing to me in the world."
Y/N snorted. Her eyes shimmered with love and adoration. Crawling to her knees, she pressed a kiss to his forehead. "My big protector," she sighed against his skin.
A low, content sound rumbled through Felix's chest. Instinctively, his arms wrapped around her body, pulling her close to him. "Always will be."

So, if you read Undercover Hijinks, I have indeed deleted it.
Why?
Because, my fellow Felix simpers and vampire lovers, it's becoming a book!

It's been a while, I've been honestly just swept up in IRL stuff and publishing a book that I haven't even had time to log into this site and look at my drafts. Also depression. Hi y'all! 😅✌️

if i was bella and edward was pissing me off i'd simply create a close friends list on instagram that consisted solely of him, google image search "palace interior, volterra" save whichever's the fanciest, edit the text "dinner with the volturi. thank you for the invitation" over the top, click post and then turn off my phone

I keep seeing the “who fell harder and who fell first” thing sooo I feel like the twins would fall harder because they feel the need to keep their guard up and Felix and Demetri would fall first because I just bet they’d be low key *high key* romantics

You opened request?! Can I ask some fluff for my husband Felix please? How do you think it would be like for him to finally find his mate in a human, and what would it be like for them to fall in love with each other!
I also adored as tall as summer, I really like the way you write Felix (wether it be in a creepy way or not)
Thank you 🦇❤️
The pull towards the garden

A/N: Hii I got so excited when I saw your ask in my inbox that I immediately started brainstorming for your request ❤️ Thank you so much! I think he would be nervous because damn, he finally meets his soulmate after so many centuries, but also confident because he is sure you will like him. In this fic I described how they fall in love and get together. It reads like a diary. I really hope you like it :)
Words: 2.7K (it’s a miracle it isn’t longer)
Warnings: none! It’s just fluff
May 16th
“Ouch,” you pulled back your finger. Drops of blood fell on the cobblestones. Putting your finger between your lips you sucked the wound clean. With your other hand you tried again to pluck the rose.
It was forbidden. Most likely, you thought. There were dozens of roses blooming in the garden of the castle. It was a pretty sight with the ancient walls and towers surrounding this place. Especially with how the moon bathed the garden in its light. Like a hidden secret garden in the middle of volterra.
You were part of the tourist group invited to see the insides of the castle. A tour starting in the evening. You remember the letter with the beautiful V on it. The invitation felt impersonal but you accepted anyway, loving the small towns in Italy. You really wanted to follow the group as they moved inside but something inside this garden pulled your attention away from the tour. It was like following a trail, a promise for something greater. You could have sworn the guide was impossible to mislead, her eyes scanned the group every second. Somehow, you had the ability to disappear from her sight and enter the hall toward the garden.
You slowly lifted the rose you plucked to take a closer look at it. The rose was beautiful. You were about to pluck another rose when a voice startled you.
“Hello,” a man stood suddenly next to you.
You dropped the rose.
Looking up at the man you gave him a shy smile. He looked at you with curiosity. He wore a dark suit and a shawl. He was also the tallest man you had ever met. An intense silence followed between you. You gulped, realizing he was probably a guard.
“I apologize-”
“Not necessary,” he interrupted you with a smile, “our tour guide should have seen you sneak away.” The man kneeled to grab the rose. He handed you the rose.
“I shouldn’t have sneaked away,” you tried again accepting the rose from him. Afraid that you would get in trouble. You felt a spark when your fingers touched. It made you feel strangely warm on the inside, as if- you couldn’t think all of a sudden.
The man looked down at your hand while he stood up. A frown appeared on his features.
“Are you hurt?”
You looked at your left hand, “Oh no, the rose got me. It's nothing!”
He grabbed your hand ignoring how you told him it was nothing, studying the small wound in your finger. You watched him nervously, there was something about him.
“See?”
“I see,” he smiled again.
“Am I in trouble? I know I shouldn’t have wandered off.”
“Not necessarily,” he purred.
You felt your cheeks heat up at the tone of his voice.
“I will guide you outside,” he smirked. Holding out his hand for you, you accepted him.
You felt odd. The way you held hands with a stranger in this garden. He took you through a different section of the garden, following a different road of cobblestones. You hadn’t realized it had gotten much darker since you sneaked into the garden. The road was barely visible and you tightened your hold on his hand.
“Scared in the dark?”
“Just worried I will fall,” you looked down at the cobblestones beneath your feet.
“You won’t,” he assured you.
You looked up at him. Noticing his eyes were dark. There was something about him, you felt almost dizzy. His features were pretty. He was a handsome tall man. But there was more. As if you were… supposed to meet him here? You felt like you could trust him. A certain calmness surrounded you, feeling perfectly safe with him.
When you arrived at the door where you had entered the building with the tour group, you turned around to look at him. He smiled back at you. There was the feeling he was just as nervous as you were. You didn’t want to leave him behind here. Why?
“A tourist right?” He sounded sad.
“Yes, I am leaving tomorrow,” you frowned at him, “I might return.” The “might” was unnecessary, you knew you would return. You felt a pull toward him that you needed to explore, to unravel. There was this strange feeling he felt the same about you.
He grinned at your reply.
“Thank you for guiding me outside.” What you did next was something you had never done before. You didn’t even know his name yet. But courage had bloomed inside you as you spoke those words and you reached forward to place a quick kiss on his cheek. You felt hot realizing what you did. But the stranger smirked at you.
Before you could turn to leave through the door the man grabbed your hand, stopping you.
“When you return,” as if he knew you wanted to, “knock on the door and ask for Felix. They will know who you are.”
He caressed your hand with his thumb, nodding at you as he let you go.
July 5th
You were a nervous wreck. Walking through the small alleys of volterra you reminisced in the memories you had of him, of Felix. You only met him once, two months ago. It was late and you had sneaked into a garden of a castle you visited. The image of him had followed you in everything you did. You couldn’t let go of him. You couldn’t stop thinking about him. Everyone around you told you that you seemed lovestruck, like it was love at first sight. You wouldn’t tell anyone how you met him, no matter how much they asked. It felt like you had to keep it a secret.
A voice in your head told you to just take the plane to Italy and find him. And here you were, on your way to the castle. It was already getting late. The sun hung low and the blue sky was slowly turning purple. It was still hot as it was summer. Your heart beat faster when you saw the clocktower, the door where you saw him last was right underneath it. The reality of seeing him again scared you, what if he would reject you? But he wanted you to ask them for him. Don’t get nervous now, you scolded yourself.
Knocking on the large wooden door you waited until it was opened by a woman. She greeted you with a smile but the question hung in the air.
“I am here to see Felix,” you almost whispered to her. You were very nervous.
“Ah, he told us about you,” she opened the door wider immediately, letting you in.
You watched her close the door behind you and followed her as she led you to the garden.
“He told me to let you wait in the garden,” the woman grinned at you.
You stared at her walking away. What did she know about your meeting with him here?
You decided to wander through the garden. Now more at ease as you knew they had let you in. Going past the roses you watched old cypresses stand in circles. You were staring at their imposing growth as a voice greeted you.
“Felix,” you turned to him excitedly.
He smiled at you as he grabbed your hand and kissed it. You giggled at his gesture. His lips were cold on your skin and you shivered.
“I have missed your presence,” he whispered. There was the sad tone again, the same when you said your goodbyes to each other.
“You only met me once,” you felt your heart beat faster at his words. You wished you had the courage to tell him you felt the same. But the way he looked at you made you feel like he knew.
There was the intense silence again. Filling the space between and around you.
“I wanted to see you,” you bit your lip, looking up at him to meet his eyes. You thought you were insane for thinking his eyes grew dark. Were they red?
“I knew you would come back,” he smirked.
You giggled again. Oh, you were falling in love with this stranger.
He held out his hand again. With a grin you accepted and even hooked your arm around his. Calmness filled you as he walked you through the section of the old cypresses toward a small pond. The fountain in the middle of the pond looked ancient to you. He made you sit down on an old white bench. You gulped, realizing you would finally really talk with him. As much as the silence comforted you, you really wanted to get to know him better.
“I have waited very long for your arrival,” he whispered suddenly.
His words confused you. It was only two months right?
“What do you mean, Felix?”
There was panic on his features but he quickly smiled again, “I meant the feeling I have for you. No one has made me feel this-”
You interrupted him at the end, “like there is a pull toward me?”
He smiled at your words, looking relieved, “Yes, like a pull. Do you believe in soulmates?”
You thought of your mother. How she always told you about how soulmates were once one person split into two, doomed to search for each other through every life. Until they would finally find each other. Was this what she meant?
“My mother, she believed in it.”
“Do you?” He looked nervous.
“I don’t know what I should believe. But I believe this pull I feel is real. No one else has made me feel like buying plane tickets to see them again after only meeting them once,” you looked down at his hands. He had started to caress yours with his thumb. They felt cold against your skin.
“It feels unnatural,” you added.
He frowned for a moment. Not sure how to react to these words.
“I feel like I should get to know you better first,” you started again.
“And?”
“It feels like I already know you.”
Felix took your hands in his, “It’s because we are meant for each other.”
You had asked for his number, his e-mail, anything to stay connected with him as you returned home. A normal person would have been worried about how he had nothing to offer. You only had the memories of this week in July. Seeing him again felt like coming home. You stayed in a small B&B and returned to the castle everyday. At some point you realized there was a secret hidden in this castle. A secret he was part of. You noticed how his eyes were red and his skin was pale, cold. And he said several times he had waited for you for so long. He wasn’t human like you were, you were sure of it. But you didn’t question him and he didn’t tell you yet, you knew he would tell you when he felt it was right. It should have scared you but it didn’t. You felt perfectly safe around him, you knew this was meant to happen.
You couldn’t wait until you would see him again in December.
December 27th
It was almost time to celebrate new year’s eve. You watched children laugh and play in the snow as mother nature rewarded them with snow this early in the winter. It was colder than it was supposed to be. You had put on your warmest winter coat and soft gloves, walking toward the clocktower again. It was sunny and you would meet him inside the castle this time.
It was a different woman who let you in now. She made you wait in the main hall.
“You have arrived already,” Felix walked up to you with open arms.
You ran toward him, jumping into his arms. You hugged him tight. You were so much in love with him, you realized warmly.
“I missed you,” you whispered to him, tightening your hold on his shoulders. They felt like marble to you despite him wearing his black suit.
You knew he was closing his eyes, taking in your scent like he did last time. A beautiful smile adored his features.
“I need to tell you something,” Felix looked at you with worry in his eyes.
You were in a small library inside the castle. Candles lit up the space in a warm yellow light. The both of you sat on a couch between two large bookcases. You took his hands in yours, caressing them the same way he would caress yours sometimes.
“I know you have a secret,” you smiled at him.
He nodded, looking down at your hands.
“It became obvious to me in July. There were things about you,” you paused to think, “that weren’t…human. But I wasn’t worried, I felt perfectly safe with you. I think I have fallen in love with you in ways I cannot express.” Your breath hitched as you spoke the last sentence.
Before Felix could answer you continued: “You said you were waiting so long for me. You have lived…much longer than me. "Am I right?”
He grinned, “you are observant.”
“You are just easy to read, for me at least,” you shyly said.
“It’s because we are meant for each other.”
You smiled, he said this a lot.
“So what are you? How long do you live already?”
He laughed.
As Felix stopped laughing he inched closer. This time you looked him in the eyes, waiting for his answer. His red eyes had turned dark. Despite his eyes being dark he looked at you with love in them.
“My love, we are vampires. We are centuries older than you can imagine,” worry spread over his features as he watched your face.
You felt like you were going insane now. A voice in your head tried to tell you vampires didn’t exist and that he was joking with you. But you felt like he was speaking the truth.
You placed your hand on his cheek. Caressing it with your thumb.
“You will have to tell me more,” you whispered, “explain it to me.”
He sighed, placing his hand over yours, “If you need to-”
You interrupted him, knowing what he would say, “I am not leaving you now, or ever.”
The last two words gave you chills. Were you really prepared to spend eternity with him? You knew vampires of stories never aged. But you had fallen in love with him. It took you almost eight months to get to know him. He had sent you letters in between your visits to him. You sent him back yours. And you knew he had fallen in love with you as well. The pull you felt between you was meant to be. You were really soulmates. You were sure of it now. The thought of it made you bite your lip in excitement.
Felix had placed his forehead against yours. The smile he wore was absolutely sweet to you. As if all worries and bad thoughts had left him entirely and there was only happiness left.
“Were you worried?” You wanted him to say it.
“When you have accepted that you will never meet your soulmate after so many years, it feels terrifying to suddenly meet them in your garden. Especially when they are human.”
You hummed in response. The word human sounded so strange to you but the fact he was comfortable with you to say it made your heart beat faster.
“Your heart is going fast,” he grinned.
"You know why.”
Comforting silence filled the space again until Felix broke it.
“Will you stay with me? I need you to be sure.”
“Just kiss me already.”
