Kind of a silly rant I guess, I wanted to post it just to have this reminder in the future.

So it has happened a few times that I'd wanted to interact with someone’s reblogged post and I couldn’t because their OP had at some point blocked me.

I'm not gonna lie, it hurts every time it happens and my mind goes directly to "what have I done to make this stranger who I've never interacted with to want to block me???"

But then again, I have done the same thing. For better or worse, I have blocked users whose content I found could be triggering for me, for example.

We are all curating our own experience here and it is in our hands to create a safe space for us.

Be it from blocking a user that decided to post passive agressive crap in a fic or drawing you worked hard for (those make me so salty), to blacklisting a certain tag that you know can be triggering for you.

Fulfilling Wishes

It was cold, and the rain pelted down on your bedroom window so loudly that you were unable to sleep.

You missed him.

And it was ridiculous because you had just seen him less than four hours ago while having dinner with him and his family. 

Your family. They had taken you in and accepted you immediately after meeting them all. They had all been your saving grace. But he had been your real hero.

You had met him accidentally when you got lost down a dark back alley, trying to navigate your way home from a new job. Your phone had died, leaving you without the GPS, and an anxiety attack was on the rise. 

No friends. No family. No one to worry about where you were and whether or not you made it home safely.

He seemingly popped up from nowhere as you gasped for the air that refused to stay in your lungs long enough for you to calm down.

After talking to you for a few minutes and asking you some interesting questions, you realized that you were breathing normally again, which made you smile at him.

He smiled back and asked if he could help you get home, which you were incredibly grateful for, and took him up on the offer before he could even finish his question. 

You sighed as you lay there reminiscing and worrying about your vigilante friend and his brothers out in the horrendous weather. 

The longer you thought about all of them, the more you secretly wished he was there with you - all cuddled-up safe and watching a movie, like the two of you always did during the horrible weather. Or after a long shitty day. He was your safety blanket. Always there for you when you needed him.

And he was literally like a blanket. All warm and cuddly. You loved when he had those powerful arms wrapped around you, squeezed up against his chest. The way his steady breathing created the illusion of calming waves as his strong heartbeat erased your anxiety and stress from the long, awful day.

And he had a way with you. When no one else could cheer you up or calm you down, it was always him who knew the right words to say. He knew exactly what you needed emotionally, and he never failed to deliver it in abundance.

You yearned for his gentle touch and to hear his low voice whispering in your ear. You loved the way he would trace his finger down your arm… Or make little designs in the palm of your hand whenever you sat together.

It was always so… Platonic.

And you wished it wasn't.

Because you loved him.

As more than just a friend…

He filled the void in your heart that had almost consumed you all those years ago when you had lost your way - more than down a dark alley.

Even though you wished it wasn't, you knew it was that whole best friend thing.

The way he knew you better than anyone else ever could. The way he took time to truly understand you. The way he was so deliberate in the attention and affection he showered you with…

You heard the unmistakable sound of the living room window opening and closing.

His window.

You lifted and turned your head just in time to see the beautiful green of his skin in the glow of your white fairy lights that outlined the ceiling in your room.

"You're awake," he whispered, stripping his gear, and himself, right down to his boxer briefs.

He grabbed your bath towel from the hook on your closet door and dried himself off real quick.

Meanwhile, you were having an internal scream fest at the fact that this sexy-ass turtle-man was getting ready to climb into your bed… With you… In nothing but his underwear.

"Is it ok?" He asked, frozen in place and looking down at you with concern.

"Of course," you told him, trying to sound casual.

As you faced the wall, laying on your side, you felt as the bed dipped behind you, and his warm body pressed against yours; those big arms of his slowly snaking their way around your middle and squeezing you closer to him.

"Thank you," you whispered, more to the Gods who had listened and answered your prayers, than to him.

"For what?" He practically purred in your ear.

"For being you," you told him, not knowing what else to say without making it weird.

He was quiet, but you could feel his unasked question floating around in the air.

"For always being there for me," you continued, "for everything you do…" you paused, contemplating your next statement.

"For fulfilling my needs…" you whispered.

You felt him squeezing you tighter, his snout nuzzling your neck behind your ear, as he took a deep breath in.

You felt his breath on your ear as he asked you the golden question…

"Do I fulfill all of your needs?" 

Time had stopped momentarily as hope surged through your entire being.

"Almost," you whispered.

His lips ghosted their way across the shell of your ear.

"What am I not fulfilling?" His voice was low and husky, "Because I want to fulfill all of your needs," he breathed out.

You turned your head to look at him, but your eyes didn't make it past his lips.

There it was, the delicious feeling you'd been dying for, as he brushed his lips against yours. But he pulled back too soon. 

You slipped your hand up behind his neck and pulled his lips to yours, eliciting a moan from him.

In one swift move, he had rolled you onto your back and caged you underneath him with his arms, kissing you as fervidly as you were kissing him.

After he'd regained control of his emotions, he broke the kiss and smiled down at you.

"I think I'm in love with you," you blurted out. 

His eyes got wide, but his smile got wider.

"I think I have been for a long time…" He told you.

"Really?" You squeaked, shocked by his confession.

"You couldn't tell? I've been trying to make moves on you since the day you smiled at me in that dark alley," He admitted, right before he began kissing you again and continuing to love you for the rest of the night.

sure, april being a mutual friend was certainly helpful

especially since she lived adjacent to your cozy apartment complex

the one with a fluffy pastel blue welcome mat and incense that smells like various coffee flavors floating through the door anytime it’s opened 💞

but introductions were just so stunningly different than they had expected...

when you met them, with april and casey’s company on the roof of an abandoned warehouse, they had expected everything but your brightly colored clothes and an even brighter awe-filled grin that you just couldn’t wipe off of your face

you and mikey clicked first

within the first 10 minutes of being in each other’s company, it was all bright laughter and playful flirting and showing him pictures of your puppy, who he was hoping you’d let him hold eventually~

for once, leo was glad his little brother was so forward

the others warmed up soon enough, sooner than april and casey could have ever imagined

first, raph, when you had brought him brightly colored yarns for his knitting projects, and he just stared at you in fascination with his jaw on the floor while you excitedly skipped away 🥰

then donnie, not far behind after you brought coffee over for the first time and happily set it on his desk and quietly let him continue his work

lastly was the eldest brother, leo who approached you himself with the slight envy of his younger siblings getting your sweet affection and casually sparked up a conversation about face care routines

your warm aura just brings a smile to their face [3

any time you walk into the room, all sour moods disappear, replaced with vanilla-scented perfumes and heels clicking across the floor, and a whole new pastel-colored outfit that they get to study with curiosity

they’ve never seen a person who was the word ‘optimism’ personified, but there you stand, excited to tackle them in hugs and fill their hearts with enough fuzziness to make a faux rug

the boys, raph especially, appreciate when you come over with drink carriers of Starbucks, usually with their designated orders that you have down to a tee

that just makes them the happiest turtles to ever exist

leo loves all of their teas or matcha drinks, as long as they're warm, since the cold ones make his teeth hurt

(You always get extra strawberries in his, he likes the texture?)

Any iced, sweet drinks for mikey, no matter the weather, which isn’t really a surprise to anyone

donnie isn't particularly picky with his, as long as it’s got caffeine in it. he’s always open to try something different, and will often ask you to grab more than one so he’s got something new

raph likes warm drinks, preferably sweet since downing something bitter leaves a bad taste in his mouth

you’re also constantly restocking on so many stickers, which they get unexplainably thrilled for~

puffy stickers, holographic ones, any with bright colors, you’ve purchased online or at a fun craft store

it’s like a guilty pleasure to you, a perfectly sweet habit whenever you see a pack of them, it’s a must buy

that’s exactly why they’re constantly finding stickers all over the lair, and themselves, an indicator that you’ve been there at some point recently

all over the workout equipment are pastel rainbows, cute kittens, pride flags, which all make raph smile uncontrollably

you give leo the puffy stickers, mostly or ones with little inspirational quotes on them, because they’re his favorite to look at and touch

don gets all of the meme stickers, because he just deserves it (3

he keeps them above his bed to chuckle at in his spare time, and won’t let anyone else see

mikey gets the super bright and also limited edition ones so that he can keep them on his hoverboard and a few on his nun-chucks

on countless occasions raphael’s caught his brothers snickering at the back of his shell, only to discover your signature mark of flower and smiley face stickers scattered across the back :)

he wears them with pride, that king <3 👑

leo consistently wakes up with little red and pink hearts all over his biceps 💕

raph and mikey love giving free piggyback rides to you, and you only

probably april too~

any other human will be promptly turned down 💀

especially casey or vern, who are incredibly jealous

donnie loves watching your precise concentration while you do your makeup and hair, trying to understand how you have the patience for something that seems so unimportant to him

Meeting Rob Paulsen over the weekend was just such an unreal experience, beyond words, and possibly the best three minutes of my life <3

The line leading up to meet with him was much longer than it seemed while his aid took names down, but it was entirely worth the wait when I stepped up and he greeted me with the warmest smile known to mankind. (Really, he is so freakin cool). It was just incredible seeing him taking the drawing I made him and do a double take before saying hi to me in all my favorite characters’ voices while he pointed to them on the paper.

Here’s roughly how the conversation went, as well as I can remember, although I’ll be honest I was a little spaced out while talking to him 😅💕 I’m also a little embarrassed to say I stuttered lots during this conversation, but opted to not include it, since there’s more typing to do, and it seems more like a fan fiction than the truthful, awkward but amazing exchange that took place.

(R indicates Rob and C indicates myself/Celeste)

R- “Hellloooo Celeste! Hi sweetheart! How are ya?”

C- “Hi, I’m great! This is crazy, sorry I’m so freaking nervous!”

R- “Oh it’s okay kiddo, you don’t need to be nervous! You got some stuff there?”

C- “Yeah, actually, uh, here you go”

I hand him his paper first~

R -“ Oh WOW. This is fantastic, sweetheart!”

He points to each character individually;

*in Carl Wheezers voice* “uh, you’re very beautiful”

*donatello’s voice* “Come down to the sewers and visit anytime you’d like!”

*Raphael’s voice* “Turtle power!”

*Yakko Warner’s voice* “And like I said earlier, ya’know, Hellooo Celeste!”

(I am having a cardiac arrest at this point, hearing him switch so fluently from each character 😂)

C- “Thank you so much! You are just amazing.”

R- “No you are! I mean seriously, Talented and beautiful?! Come on kid, save some for the other ladies!”

(Brink of tears~)

C- “Thank you so much! I was hoping you could sign this as well?”

R- “Oh absolutely! Now this is amazing.”

As he signs my 2nd drawing, he uses his Donatello voice and says in the kindest way~

“Don’t tell April but I think you are much prettier.”

The biggest, shit-eating grin just played across my face, it made my heart swell so much.

After having my image signed, and getting a picture with Rob, I thanked him for being my hero and just showed my gratitude. He pulled me into one of the most stunningly warmest hugs I have ever gotten and said these words that I will carry with me to the fucking grave;

“Of course sweetie, you’re my hero too.”

He pulled away, patted my hand, and thanked me for the gift before saying;

“It was amazing meeting you kiddo, you keep up the good work.”

And then I rounded the corner after walking away and SOBBED uncontrollably while my dad and friend just kinda stood there awkwardly 😂💕💕💕

Rob has most pure and true souls of anyone to walk the planet, and I hope that he knows just how much he and his characters have helped shape me, and I’ll cherish this experience for years to come <333
