just read chapter 21, it's by far my favorite because I live for angst and pining but oh! It still makes me so sad omg. I've been thinking about it all morning and I just can't get over how Percy was mad as hell but still had the instinct to not hurt Annabeth too much :( and poor Annabeth being more innocent than ever jwnfwEFWUEF how in the world did you somehow write THAT scene (imo) even more angsty and crazy than the original? I just know I'm going to be starved of them interacting the next few chapters they need to make up and kiss already but I adore the angst too ahhh

ik writing is hard, I barely have it in me so kudos to you 🤍 I don't think I'm ever going to forget this fic

I gotta say it’s been difficult to write. I’m always fact checking and trying to be somewhat historically accurate (or at least not egregiously inaccurate 😂) and that’s pretty restricting to my already unreliable creative flow.

2. So are you for real?? Like it’s only the second chapter and I’m obsessed with the P&P au!! Nothing has even happened and I’m dying waiting for the next chapter. The Percy/Estelle dynamic is already *chef’s kiss*. Are you planning weekly updates or just whenever the chapters are ready?

1. The car situation is pretty much the same, but now I don’t feel the same level of internal shame/agony every time I see the battered front of my Toyota. Time heals wounds lol

2. I love that you are loving the story so far! I know it’s been mostly setting and characters and none of the good stuff we all live for, but the good stuff is coming soon. I’m glad you’re enjoying the world building and the slow start. It’s been killing me, all I wanna write is the dialogue and the intense stares and the touches but I have to, like, describe the room they’re in 😔. We’re gonna hit the gas in the next chapter with the assembly. Updates should be about a week to 2 weeks apart. I’ll say something if that changes!

the new chapter🫣…that was so intense. im literally dying on the edge of my seat (my bed)!! the way i wanted to come through the screen and smack rachel…and the proposal was even more painful (amazing) than i thought it would be. when Percy made that concubine comment…i literally gasped. but I fear being an asshole is one of Percy’s prominent traits and it doesn’t get acknowledged enough so thank you🫡. “And ye’re the last woman on earth to whom I could ever be condemned to marry” I had to chuckle to myself a little😏 im literally so excited🤭 this is real literature!!

I’ve wanted to post it as a snippet for so long but it needed to smack yall for the first time in the context of the proposal.

I’ve waited years (that’s insane) for this day. so much of this chapter was drafted in 2021, a few lines from 2020. some things stayed exactly like I wrote them in 2021… most of it was tweaked and tucked, the rain was added 2 weeks ago, the rose garden 3 days ago, and Percy’s infection is the byproduct of this past flu season and nothing has been funnier for me to write than the chapter by chapter worsening of his symptoms 😂😂

the concubine line has remained virtually the same since 2021.

you know how you have a 400 word scenario but it takes 80k words to get there? This chapter was the scenario.
