If you have to pay a cost for overweight baggage at the airport, how can this not apply to life when we carry heavy emotional baggage.
It may cost you opportunities and relationships. Just by simply holding onto things that cannot yield growth.
At some point you have to unpack the pain and hurt and travel light in life.

On October 28th we are dropping another episode of our BXB LAB series. This will be the third episode and this will cover the behind the back dribble and the between the legs dribble. Both of these moves are used to change directions against crowding defenders, however, these moves differ in terms of hand placement and also what we can use them for. The between the legs dribble can also be used as a setup dribble for a hesitation or change of pace. The behind back dribble can sometimes be used as a counter within a combo. Yet, as stated before both moves have the same footwork. We plant our foot in one direction to simply explode in the other. Also we have another move that has the same footwork as both of those two, which we will throw in towards the end of the video. Watch the clip above to see what’s in store. #bxbperformancetraining #bxbperformance #basketballbreakdown #ballhandling #basketballskills #skillstraining https://www.instagram.com/p/CVIdL6XAK40/?utm_medium=tumblr

(Swipe Left) Today we are going over ball fakes, the first type we are covering is pump fakes. Pump fakes are used to make the defender react to us “faking like we’re shooting the ball” which forces them to jump in the air contesting the fake shot. There are multiple ways to use a pump fake. Against a close out, which can lead to a 1 dribble jumpshot or drive to the basket. We can pump fake against the closeout again then use a sidestep to hit the three after the defender blows by us. We can use the pump fake after we pro hop to either step thru and finish or fadeaway from the defender. We can pump fake after the pick up on our 1 dribble and 2 dribble jumpers to force our defender to jump in the air. After he jumps we simply shoot as he is on the way down. We can also pump fake on the pick up to a step thru finish after the defender jumps towards the ball. As you can see one fake can lead to many opportunities we simply need to know HOW TO USE it. Once we know how and the when it becomes easier to actually make The right reads in basketball. #basketball #basketballtraining #pumpfake #shotfakes #basketballfundamentals #basketballskillstraining #basketballtraining #nbabasketball #collegebasketball #highschoolbasketball https://www.instagram.com/p/CUafVvLr4j6/?utm_medium=tumblr

We are breaking down the crossover step in today’s BXB Fundies. The crossover step is used as a counter, (after blowing by in one direction and getting past our defenders they will adjust and start to cut off that angle), to go opposite of the direction we just jabbed. The best way to use this move is by first establishing you can blow by in one direction to make the defense become honest on committing to a side. Secondly you can use it against a closeout which will open up an opportunity to drive or shoot. Attack the closeout with a jab and crossover step usually works simply due to the defense reacting too quickly in an undisciplined fashion. Some tips to make sure this move is highly effective. Angles: Make sure we either jab in the direction of the backboard or the rim. By having our jab foot in line with these markers we are lined up perfectly to sell the move and also get down hill. Deception: Making sure we sell our eyes head and shoulders in one direction before going opposite. This ensures us selling the move one way so the defender can react to it, which in turns results in a us crossover stepping opposite. #bxbperformance #bxbperformancetraining #basketballbreakdown #basketballfundamentals #basketballskillstraining #basketballtraining #crossoverstep https://www.instagram.com/p/CT2sOWLvW0s/?utm_medium=tumblr

Swipe left to see more Today we are going over how Pivoting in basketball. Now there are two types of pivots we must establish first within basketball. -Reverse Pivot: we are taking our jab foot and dropping it behind us TOWARDS the basket. -Forward Pivot: we are taking our jab foot and bringing it around our body AWAY from the basket. -There are two options to pivoting: • Inside pivoting: bringing the jab foot to the midline of the court. • Outside pivoting: bringing the jab foot to the baseline of the court. Our pivoting is used in triple threat whenever we get the ball from our cuts or moving on the weakside off the catch. Pivoting can be also be used within our off ball screen footwork especially in curls. Post ups on the block, mid post, and high pinch (high post) use reverse and forward pivoting. Even on fadeaways we use these types of pivots. From what you see it’s a huge staple in many movement patterns in basketball which is why it’s called a fundamental move. #bxbperformancetraining #bxbperformance #basketball #basketballtraining #basketballskillstraining #basketballskillsdevelopment #sportsperformance #strength #strengthtraining #basketballfundamentals https://www.instagram.com/p/CTh8CCaruxa/?utm_medium=tumblr

The tenth episode, PROCESS OVER PRODUCT, is out right now on anchor, Spotify, and Apple podcasts. This podcast is about process over product. This era we are in, makes it easy to believe we can become great overnight because we see it everyday. Not knowing that 80% of it is fake, 10% of it are people who have been doing it for a long time, and the other 10% are people who have just started entering the high levels of success.
This makes us susceptible to scams, buying books that “make us rich”, and we are willing to do anything to see achieve this experience of success as quickly as possible. That instant gratification mentality is what’s hurting many. Yet this is the best time, ever, to be disciplined. We have social media, crypto currency, and access to the US stock trade for little or no brokerage fee. Not to mention we have a search engine that allows us to find anything in a millisecond and an online bookstore that brings you books by the next day. We have all the tools anyone may ever needed to be successful, however, we lack the mental prowess and fortitude to properly use it.
The only way we can be successful is by falling in love with the process, to fall in love with anything you have to enjoy it, and to enjoy something it has to be fun. Make the process fun for yourself and figure out what works best for you. Don’t kill your self reading if audiobooks are more enjoyable. In the end the goal is to consume more info. Don’t kill yourself running miles if you prefer sprinting in intervals. In the end the goal is to increase you cardio levels. Focus on what works best for you to reach your goals. The more you do that you will not only enjoy it but be consistent. Anything done consistently enough will lead to significant results.
