How I would fix baemon

-their reputation/ branding isnt strong enough

a baby monster is a young yet exceptionally talented performer.

in order to pull of that concept you need to have insane amounts of charisma presence and talent

-none of them have proven they are "exceptional" compared to other performers inside of yg. theyre talented, theyre skilled, but the reputation they mention in their songs is nonexistent.

Solution: baemon out of all groups shouldve done a produce show OUTSIDE of their company... being compared to other trainees who are training in the same style and skillset as you dulls the appeal. if we saw baemon members compete against other trainees outside yg the difference in performance quality would speak for itself.

-(julie would be a good example of this. her yg training is very apparent compared to her group mates. when kiof first debut people couldnt stop commenting on her yg vibes.)

yg vibes arent that special when youre surrounded by other yg artists whove had the same training as you

which leads to my next gripe, individuality

-yg did really good at marketing blackpink with specific personalities, images and skills. not just performance wise but visually as well.

-Baemon doesnt have that. in this last comeback theres a red head, a blonde a brunette. one member has bangs. none of these hairstyles are visually striking enough for the members to have independent identities or personalities.

-Solution: they need to give a member a bob! give a member pigtails!! make one wear a ponytail!! give one a consistent middle part or side part!! different lenghts of hair!! something!! something that will consistently signify their identity, brand and unique style from the others.

-only three of the seven members stand out visually.

- the lack of individuality makes them look like a high budget dance cover group.

-the one thing they did right was go with a baseball concept because stylistically the baseball uniforms were a sort of moniker that separated them from other groups. ('those are the girls with the baseball concept')

-now they dont have that.

-now,,,, yg has specific branding and i dont expect them to completely abandon it.

-and to the companies credit, the girls have distinct voices.

-the music is just so mid that no one cares to listen to it.

-the music doesnt display their vocal talents, the choreography doesnt show off their dancing skills. its all very basic

-at least with nmixx, while their music was trashed as being awful for a bit... it showed their SKILLS!

-yg cant rely on their distinct voices to carry the songs, they need to showcase skills too.

-especially when there is no shortage of talented groups these days

calling illit newjeans 2.0 irks me specifically because i know that illit's title track was teased back in 2019 before minheejin even made ador or even casted newjeans. the song and concept were supposed to be min heejins & bang pd's group but she ended up switching directions. from a chronological standpoint illit isnt newjeans 2.0 its newjeans beta!!! newjeans prototype!!! newjeans prime!!!
