This was a genuine surprise, I opened my mail and found a copy of my first book 🤯
This is the first time I’ve held my book and seen it physically with my own eyes. I’m blown away by it in every way.
I just wanted to say a huge that I you to you all for walking with me along my journey so far. I’m truly thankful for all your support and encouragement, this would not have happened without you! You’ve helped me fulfil a dream I’ve always had of being a published author.
Although this has landed on my door mat today, it won’t be available until September 21. Those who have preordered may receive their copy through the post a little earlier.
It will also be available as an ebook and will be translated into Spanish, French and Slovenian. Follow the link in my bio to pre-order your copy!
If you’ve already pre-ordered, make sure you enter the giveaway. I’ll be giving away three year ahead readings worth £35/$49 to say thank you for all your support.

I think abortion restrictions are less about religion, and demonizing and keeping people of color, queer people, and other marginalized people (especially young black women & girls) in a place of economic dependency on a system that will prevent them from moving upwards socially.
Its less about religion (though they use that as a guise), and more about controlling minorities.

'native american people have this belief' ah yes like how all people in the united states believe in the book of mormon- wait, not all of them believe that? it's only specific people in certain geographical locations and groups? that's so dumb, why can't I just say that americans believe in this? there's too many places and groups to keep track of, I'm just going to continue to say that they all believe in this

A book review: The Path to Paganism by John Beckett
Tumblr media
So I haven't finished this book yet, but I have really connected with it and want to share my thoughts before I forget them. This book is amazing. I'm slightly under halfway through the book, and it has already changed my life.
In this book, John talks a lot about coming from a Christian background and becoming Pagan. He talks about recognizing Christian language that you may or may not be conscious of.
A couple of my favorite quotes:
"Some questions are too big for answers." p. 30, this is in reference to What happens when we die?
"Bad science makes bad religion." He says this a lot, if the science isn't true then why would you believe the religion OR what else are they lying about?
"Nature doesn't need humans, but humans need nature." p. 70
Pages 120-125 talks about "Killing your inner fundamentalist," and I just loved this whole section
He stresses that no religion is the "right" or "ultimate" religion, whatever calls to you (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone), is what works for you
In short, if you are a "Recovering Christian" (as I've heard it), and are interested in Paganism, I highly recommend this book. Or if you're Christian and wondering why people want to become Pagan, it's also a good read (mostly the first half of the book explains things). If I have more thoughts after I finish the book, I'll post accordingly.

🌼 Little chamomile milk tea potion 🌼
Tumblr media
I made this to relax before bed and bring in sweet dreams and happiness the next day. This is good after a stressful day or when you want a good nights sleep.
What you need
-3 chamomile tea bags - relaxing, peace, happiness
-water (I used normal water but you can use rain or moon water for more of an effect)
-milk
-honey - to sweeten your dreams
-cinnamon - to bring happiness into the next day and to remind you that the sun always rises the next day
Steps
I. Fill a mug ¼ full of water and pour it into a pot. Put the chamomile tea bags in and simmer the pot to let them seep
II. Let the tea get really strong. Maybe simmer it for about 10 minutes
III. Fill the mug about ¾ full of milk and pour it into the tea. Make sure to leave the tea bags in.
IV. Add in honey and stir until devolved. Once your milk tea is warm, pour it into the mug and sprinkle cinnamon one top
V. Hold the mug in your hand and change it with calm and happy energy
I hope you enjoy this delicious milk tea! Have a wonderful day 🌼

So I recently started reading Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology, and I am sorta bothered by how those who die of disease or old age are sent to Hel?(or accidents or childbirth, esp since it is often referred to as being for cowards?) Like, I struggle with Type 1 diabetes, I will most likely die of complications to it. I fight every day just to live, but this just means what? That none of that matters?
Your issue here is in thinking of Hel as a bad place, which Christian culture has done a good job of insinuating.
Hella punishes those who were dishonorable in life by feeding them to Nidhogg, yes…but if you are a basically good person who simply didn’t die in battle, Helheim is a rather nice place. It’s said to be a misty forest, one that’s peaceful and restful. You’ll find family there, and be healed of any hurts or illness from life. You’ll engage in the same activities you enjoyed in life; dancing, feasting, games, having a nice nap in a meadow whenever you like, ect.
The warriors, see, who go to Valhalla…they will be needed at Ragnarok, and there they’ll die a final time. Those who go to Folkvanger will help Freyja rebuild Midgard. But those in Helheim have no obligations. There, you do as you please, when you please, without the inconveniences of mortal diseases or infirmity.
That’s all Helheim is, for people who weren’t assholes in life. Not some pit of fire and torment.

I’ll never really forgive heteronormative society for labeling queer people as sexual deviants,
because it’s the reason I can’t openly talk about characters I identify with since I’m at risk of making everyone uncomfortable.
I talked to my parents happily about Crowley and Aziraphale and how wonderful it was to have this gay little demon and angel running around being happy together saving the world
And it’s like
As I talked, I saw it in their eyes. They didn’t see things the way I did. There was no excitement there. They didn’t like what I said. And my spark fizzled out.
I don’t forgive heteronormative society for how crushing it was when my dad asked me why I was so intent on Crowley and Aziraphale having sex. And it dawned on me why they were uncomfortable. My parents didn’t see this conversation as wholesome, and they couldn’t see things the way I did, they couldn’t see the magic or the beauty in what I said. All they heard was sex.
I don’t forgive it, either, for labeling nonbinary people as less than human. Creatures.
Because when I talked to my parents about Double Trouble being a great nonbinary character, my mother winced and said “oh well I never saw them as nonbinary, they’re not even a person” and my heart sunk down into the heels of my feet
Their first reaction hearing Double Trouble’s pronouns was to think “this is a creature character”
There’s just this part of myself deep down that I would love to share but I can’t because it’s unsightly. My favorite part of media is seeing people like myself. It’s a huge portion of my enjoyment. I can’t share it.
It sounds so dumb, but for once I’d love to be able to talk about the characters I like and how cool they are. It would be one thing if my parents got mad at me for this, but it’s worse, I see this visceral, suppressed disgust and discomfort when I talk to them and I feel ashamed for ever bringing it up.
I love characters like Crowley, Aziraphale, Double Trouble, Loki, Deadpool, Enid, Luz, and yes, Boxman and PV. But I can never say why. Some people in my family will never ever see them the way I do. They’ll never see them like they do straight characters.
Like. I watched OK K.O. with my dad, and I didn’t say anything when we saw All In the Villainy. Not a word. That’s my favorite episode in the entire series and I couldn’t tell anyone in the room why.
I’ll never forgive heteronormative society for labeling queer people as sexual deviants.
