No Longer Alone (pt.1)

A/N: I've decided to make a little series, I'm not yet sure how long it will be though!

Pairing(s): Natasha x daughter!reader (eventual), Bucky x daughter!reader (eventual)

Warnings: Mentions of loneliness, HYDRA, and abandonment

Series Summary: You've grown up in foster care nearly your entire life, when you find your birth information, you finally figure out who your parents are.

Y/n = Your Name

Word Count: 523

You always wondered what it might be like to meet your parents, or how your life might be if you were never separated from them.

You had gone in and out of foster arrangements, none of them lasting more than a few weeks. For now, you had settled in a group home.

It wasn't too bad, there were other girls around your age and they were quite nice. But you just wanted a family. It felt lonely without one.

"Y/n, could you come here for a moment?" Miss Emily, one of your primary caretakers, called out from her office.

"Coming!" You called back, stuffing your math homework into your binder before standing up to head to Miss Emily's office area.

"I need someone to organise my things while I tidy the living room. Can I trust you to handle that?" She asked gently, offering you a sweet smile.

"Sure, yeah I got it." You nodded, just glad to be doing anything other than your homework. You needed a break from algebra anyway.

Emily quickly explained what you were to do before softly shutting the door behind her, allowing you a calm environment to work in.

A select few members of the Avengers sat in a meeting they had just completed a mission and were now waiting for Fury to dismiss them.

The team watched the interaction between Director Fury and Maria Hill, they seemed to be confused.

Clearing her throat, Maria had dismissed herself from her quiet conversation with the director.

"You are all dismissed, a job well done." She praised the team, as they walked passed her and through the door.

When Bucky and Nat moved to stand up, she held her hand up, motioning for them not to step any further.

"Take a seat, the three of us should have a...conversation."

"Everything alright?" Natasha pressed, raising an eyebrow at the woman who sat across from her.

"This may be a bit of a personal matter, but have you and Barnes ever been intimate in any way?"

"Excuse me?" Bucky blurted out, he was sure nobody knew apart from he and Natasha. Nobody needed to know, it was in the past and both of them had since moved on.

The way he had tensed up and his eyes darted all over the room, already gave Maria the answer she needed.

"That was a long time ago, not that it's any of your concern." Natasha spat, both she and Bucky had been growing both annoyed and anxious.

How did she know?

You had surprisingly found it to be satisfying, sorting each person's files to the proper filing cabinet. The last cabinet was yours.

Deciding it would be harmless to skim through your papers, you took a quick look.

Most of the papers were to be expected, records of any hospital visits, therapy appointments, and foster placements.

What you hadn't expected to find were records on your parents and birthplace.

Reading down, you hadn't known you were born in Russia. You also would never have thought your parents lived in the same city, let alone both be Avengers.

You had been lied to.

it's basically about a baby pronouncing something wrong and then the parent would correct them, but then they'd realize that they wouldn't always mispronounce words, so they're like, “no, no, it's really [mispronounced word]” hihiii
