No Makeup Makeup Tips
I’ve recently become obsessed with getting no makeup makeup right!  It’s just so much easier and can look beautiful and natural...if you get it right.  I was surprised at how much I could screw it up, I mean in high school I basically did it on accident!  I think that after years of trying to go all out with my makeup I forgot how to get back to the basics.  So here are a few tips to help us all look like we’re put together af without looking like we’re trying. 1. Find a good BB or CC cream that works for you!  This was hard for me because I worry about sunscreen breaking me out and I have a lot of acne scars that I want to cover without looking like I have a load of foundation on.  I also feel like this is so different for everyone, so figure out what you need and do your research before buying! 2. You can mix moisturizer into your foundation to sheer it out and make it look more natural (this tip might not work well with all foundations) 3. Use cream products.  Creamy products will help give you a more natural look because they are more skin like instead of looking like they're just sitting on top of the skin.  Try a cream blush, cream eyeshadow, cream highlighter, or cream concealer. 4. Use a clear gloss or just a balm, it will really take your look one step further and this might actually be my favorite thing about a no makeup makeup look.  You can also line your lips with a nude lip liner and smudge it in with a lip brush before gloss to add more definition to your lips. 5. A natural brow can really make or break your look, I like to make my brow look good but not too bold.  I just fill in any really sparse areas with a powder and then use a brow gel (I use Glossier Boy Brow) and just run the spoolie through my brows going upward. 6. I like to use a lengthening mascara just to add a bit to my lashes, but I really think this also just depends on your needs. 7. Don’t be afraid to use powder.  I like to use Maybelline FIT me’s loose powder on places I tend to get greasy.  It helps to keep my makeup set all day.  All these creamy products kind of need to be set so I don’t end up looking like a grease ball! Thanks, let me know if you have anymore tips!  I’m still learning, these are just things that have helped me along the way :)

My friends and I used to break into haunted house when we were young and once we went to a nearby city and broke into an old insane asylum.  Inside there was a door to the basement but when you opened it instead of stairs there was a conveyor belt...it was weird.  One of my friends grabbed a couple things that were inside, this was a clip board she found that still had a mans name on it and says “seizures” and “1/30/38″ She also found some old WWII magazines and a gameboy (oddly enough) In school I always kept this under my bed so my parents wouldn’t find it and now at 26 I keep it on a bookshelf in my living room.  People always tell me to get rid of it but honestly, I feel like it’s better off with me than rotting in an abandoned building.  It’s a little creepy but I think it’s cool.

When Makeup is Great!
-When you learn something new and master it! -When someone tells you they can’t even tell you are wearing makeup (thank you!) -When you finally get your hands on that product you’ve been wanting forever -When you find a really great lip color -When you get the the perfect shade of foundation (that doesn’t oxidize) -When your eyeshadow look is on point -When you somehow get your makeup done in half the time as usual and it looks twice as good as usual -When your winged eyeliner is perfect and matches on both sides -When your brows are twins (not sisters) -When you find an amazing dupe for a high end product (especially when it’s under $10) -When you find any great drugstore products -When your matte lipstick dries down without looking rough and cracked -Whenever you have fun applying it and trying out fun new things! Makeup is powerful

When Makeup Sucks!
-When you apply mascara perfectly...then it gets all over your eyeshadow somehow (my eyelashes are not THAT long!) -When your matte lipstick gives you butthole mouth (two words that should never go together) -When your lipstick gets messy af all around your lips...WHYYYY -When your concealer dries too fast and won’t blend with your foundation so you have a weird line where your concealer starts and you have to literally take off all of your makeup and start over -When you apply your foundation beautifully and all your makeup looks amazing and then an hour later you get a glimpse of yourself in a mirror and it freaking oxidized and you have an orange line on your chin (thought you found the perfect color match...NOPE) -When you’re feeling yourself...then you get in your car, look in the visor mirror and realize you look like a complete psychopath -When you run into a store to grab eyeliner, get home, and realize its not the color you thought it was -When you go to ULTA, get color matched, buy a $60 foundation...only to get home and realize it is NOT your color at all! -When you realize you’ve been contouring all wrong for like years and you’ve just been making your nose look bigger  -When you watch one youtube video and realize you have been using all the wrong products and techniques and basically just doing all of your makeup totally wrong (literally me!) Seriously though, makeup can be frustrating...but can also be really fun and life changing.  So don’t take it too seriously!

Andy Warhol Invented Vlogging
I know that statement sounds...laughable, BUT hear me out.  I went through an Andy Warhol/ Edie Sedgwick phase about a year ago.  I watched a bunch of documentaries about them, learned all about their relationship and works.  I found them super interesting, but the most interesting thing were the parallels between some of their works and todays internet culture.  Many of Andy Warhols works were kind of pre-memes (Marylin Monroe in multi-color, Campbells soup cans, the Photo Booth photos)  Now, that might be reaching a bit, maybe it’s just me seeing those similarities...But He also would film his friends and him just hanging out (literally looked like a black and white vlog) or his friend and him just sitting there watching the Empire State building through a window for like twelve hours (which actually played in theaters lol) And he filmed Edie doing her makeup, this was the most striking example of all.  She's just sitting there doing her makeup, talking the whole time about what she's doing.  It was literally a beauty video like you would see on youtube.  All of these things together just really made me think maybe Andy Warhol was just ahead of his time or maybe young people today aren’t very different from young people then.  Maybe social media hasn’t changed young people that much, it’s just given more young people the opportunity to put their lives on camera.

Dealing With Adult Acne
When I was a teen we didn’t really wear much makeup...a little gloss and some bronzer and maybe foundation applied with our fingers.  Now that I’m an adult (26) I have gained an interest over the past few years in perfecting my makeup routine, adding many things to it.  I never had acne in high school, like at all, I also never washed my face in high school or removed my makeup (Ik thats really gross) but still never had an acne issue.  I was very confident when I was younger.  Over the past few years I’ve been getting cystic acne and have tried everything to get rid of it.  I’ve tried; cutting down dairy, exfoliating, masks, different face washes, using less lotion, many toners, those vibrating exfoliators, changing my diet completely, etc... I have gotten the cystic acne under control a bit, but overall it feels like I keep having more and more breakouts.  My self confidence has taken a big hit because of this.  I feel hopeless, constantly trying the next thing I hear about on reddit or youtube.  Always feeling like I need more makeup just to hide my face, but the more makeup I wear the more I breakout.  I’ve tried taking a break from makeup and it helped a bit with breakouts but at this point my acne scarring is pretty bad.  When I look in the mirror all I see is my acne scars and new breakouts, so when I go out without makeup on it feels like that’s all other people can see.  It’s all I can think about, even with makeup on I get self conscious that people can see my acne or see that I’m trying so hard to cover it up.  I don’t have health care right now, so seeing a dermatologist isn’t going to happen.  I have other health issues that need to be addressed before my acne.  So I’m kind of just at a loss right now.  I’m an adult woman with depleting self confidence and what seems to be acne that will not be going away anytime soon.  I just wanted to post this to get it off my back, I’ve told my friends and family some of these things and they tell me “I don’t even notice your acne, it’s not as bad as you think” but it doesn’t really matter what they tell me...because it’s ALL I see when I look in the mirror. Thanks for listening to me vent, Ik this is like “not a real problem” or whatever but everything is perspective and I can’t help my emotions...Now I’m feeling guilty about feeling bad about something so minute compared to other peoples’ problems.  Regardless, if you’re out there dealing with this I am sorry.  If you’re dealing with any self confidence issues or anything, I am sorry.  It seems there’s no cure for low self confidence...just to keep going until it gets better, I guess?
