"Hm... I might just find a nice sunny meadow to lay down in and enjoy the feeling of the sun on my skin." Persephone smiled, she loved the Underworld, and her husband and being a queen, but she also loved the Earth and her work as goddess of spring, and her mother.

"Will you head back to camp after your visit here? I'm sure you miss your friends."

"Your father always treats me well." Persephone said with a smile, she was his queen after all, and as fearsome as any fury.

"I'm alright, missing the sunshine a little, but that always happens after I've been home for awhile." In a few weeks she'd return to her mother's side as she had for millennia, but until then her place was here.

"I am glad you're here though, your father is always happier when you're here."

"That's very kind of you," Persephone was no stranger to death, whatever her mother liked to pretend. She may be a goddess who brought life to the world with her work, but she was also Queen of the Underworld.

Not every soul had someone left to visit them and remember them, Persephone was sure they appreciated Nico stopping to say hello.

"During my time with me mother, I like to go to quiet graveyards and grown violets in the grass, my way of leaving flowers for them."

"That I very much doubt." Persephone knew that this wouldn't be easy, if her own stepmother was anything to go off of for centuries she'd watched Hera torment her demigod stepchildren, the godly stepchildren were barely tolerated. She was willing to try to have a better relationship with Nico, for all their sakes.

"Why don't you tell me about what you like to do for fun?" That was as good a place to start as any.

"And then you can ask me questions, how does that sound?"

"I don't mind, and I don't have anything else to do." Perching on the arm of the couch, Persephone gently ran her fingers through his dark hair.

"How are you feeling otherwise? I know shadow travel takes a lot out of you, and being here on top of that can't be easy." She loved having her stepchildren close, just not at the risk to their own health.

"As long as there is work for me to do on Earth then yes, it will be like this." Persephone reminded gently, she would not deny that she loved her mother and loved her work as the Goddess of Spring.

Not even for Hades.

"You will survive without me, as you always do."

"We'll have to sneak off when you come visit," Persephone smiled, leaning into his touch a little.

When not if, Hades always kept his promises, especially promises made to her.

"We'll be okay, my love. We always are, I'll be back before you know it."

Persephone's heart swelled as it always did when when he called her 'Mama'.

She was tempted to just scoop Adonis up in her arms and carry him home, but he was a little too big for such things.

"These are Cretan Blooms, they grow wild on the island of Crete." Letting her son lead her again, Persephone smiled.

She wasn't surprised that Hades had been pacing for days, that was not uncommon they closer they got to Persephone coming home. But Adonis' description of Hades pacing like Cerberus made the goddess laugh.

"I am sure your father has just been busy, overseeing the realm is a lot harder when it's just you to do it all."

The gentle pressure of the young boy reaching for her hand, made Persephone smile, the boy may not come from her body, but she loved him no less.

"I'm coming, Adonis, I'm coming." The queen said, she still wore the wreath of flowers she wore as goddess of spring, but soon she would shed these markers of the world above and once again look like the queen that she was.

"I've missed you, darling boy."
