as someone who is not a comic store worker, nor ever read a comic in my life before the energon universe comics, i second the plea to everyone to read them. "I want to read the comics, but i dont know where to start, where do i even get them?" get the energon ones. just do it, its a great starting point. i went looking for lost light and all they had was these because they're new. so i bought them. they are a gateway drug. my comic store is over an hour away from my rural ass and here i am, going back each month for the next one because they don't offer a pull list but the comic is just that good and i need the next one, again and again. i have so many thoughts. i know its a new publisher i know we all really want mtmte and lost light but TRUST ME the new ones are REALLY GOOD and even if you end up not liking them, they're only $5 on release and you're telling the publisher to keep it up PLEASE READ THE ENERGON UNIVERSE SKYBOUND COMICS JOIN US

YES EXACTLY!!!!! It's the best way to jump into current TF media that isn't overwhelming! Even the connecting comics of Void Rivals, Duke, and now Cobra Commander all fit so well into the developing universe. There's no insane backstories, there's no years worth of background knowledge needed. I've never been a G.I. Joe fan, but I got to read CC early and *damn* is it good. It's especially nice because when they say "shared universe" they mean Shared. Universe. There's no tiny Easter egg that you have to wait 3 years to actually come into play. Everything is connected from the beginning in ways that will keep you guessing.

Energon Universe Transformers is so good at playing off of established G1 lore (aka the VERY very basics) and running in a completely new direction that keeps you engaged. It's like G1 with an R rating. It's G1 if they were allowed to say fuck. It's fantastic.
