The War of Two Queens.
This post will have a lot of spoilers.
I read some comments about how people didn’t like this book so much, for many reasons, and, although I respect that, I disagree about some things.
I agree that this book was slow. That the surprise factor was kind of a let down! But if you think about the fact that this series will have 6 books, you realize that this book was more of a bridge and an opportunity to clarify some stuff. Of course it needed some drama and tension, so all the Casteel being taken and shit, that you could clearly see it wasn’t very well planned at all, but ok. I think this book was more like a filler than anything else. I liked it, though. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But ok, let me say some stuff.
1st, and I think most important: Casteel rescue. After the way Isbeth took him, all the shit at the end of last book and the finger delivery, I was expecting a super elaborated plot around his rescue and it ended up being pretty weak! On one hand, I kind of felt relieved because there wasn’t so much stalling around getting to him, and you gotta love a simple succession of events, but I thought it could have gone better, more thrill, or something. Either way, THANK GOD HE WAS MARGINALLY OK. And thank God he’s home again ❤️ Poppy and his reunion was pretty steamy and I love them!
2nd: Malik: Thank God this shithead helped Casteel, I think we all had a feeling he wasn’t bad or anything, and just another victim in all this chaos, but I was glad to be sure and I loved that he left Carsodonia and reunited with everyone! His reunion with Delano and Valyn? Oh, so bittersweet! I need more of him at home, remaking bonds and everything. I really didn’t like the part about him being the one who tried to kill Poppy as a child. It was really bad of him, but I understood his logic, like Poppy did. I didn’t like because for me it seemed a little forced, as if just made to be another - unnecessary - obstacle between Malik and Casteel. But, oh well, he didn’t kill her and Casteel already bit the shit out of him, so let’s move on from that.
3rd: Millicent: That was a curvy ball, and I liked that development. I like her and Malik, I think it has potential for a great storyline here. I’m still a little unsure if I LIKE the person she is, though. She seems not to be a crazy person like the mother, and tried to stop all that shitshow, and Malik appears to like her and believe her to be a good person, but we didn’t get enough of her for me to specifically like her. I bet I will like her if she doesn’t die or something, but not yet. I love the idea of Poppy having a sister, though.
4th, the Prophecy: WTF? I swear I didn’t understand that whole nonsense at all. It didn’t make sense, I’m still lost about that mess and it took such a central part of the book that I really just got annoyed that it really didn’t mean much at the end.
5th, Isbeth: Oh, her death was violent, horrific, brutal and so bloody and I’m here for all of it. Such a piece of garbage that woman. Everything that Seraphena said at that moment was so powerful and real. I was so thrilled about that crazy scene.
6th, that final crazy scene: I was losing my freaking shit. Like, everybody was dying, shit was going tits up and I was so tense and scared. That fucking scene scared the bejesus out of me, welp. When Delano died I was ready to give that book up, I swear. I love that wolf so much! But then everybody errr, resurrected? And I was so freaking thankful that I could get past that very biblical moment.
7th, the Gods shitshow: not much to say here, I really got so confused about Gods and Primals, and primal essence, and amber and one stealing the essence of the other and everybody sleeping like nothing was happening, that honestly I need the next book to help me understand all that mess.
8th, the infamous Joining: I have a lot to unpack here.
I read so much how people hated how Poppy and Kieran’s feelings grew for each other during this book, how they thought it was kind of emotional cheating on Casteel, and how they hated that Kieran kind of got in between the couple. I mean, I don’t necessary loved the growing feelings between them when Cas was away, I was really scared of what that would mean when Casteel got back, but then it got so clear for me that, although Poppy loves Kieran very much, her love for Casteel is the romantic one. I didn’t mind the Joining at all because I really felt at that moment that the bond the three of them share is so real and full of love, but not at all what Casteel and Poppy have. Those bonds are different, one not more important then the other, but different and I understand and respect. What made me really more at ease with this is seeing the love Cas and Kieran have for each other, how Cas wanted the Joining, that it wasn’t him doing it just because Poppy wanted or something like that, and that Kieran wanted to be bonded not just because of his feelings for Poppy, but because he has such strong and sincere feelings about Cas either. So, how can Kieran be between the couple if Cas and Kieran also have a bond that is just so special and strong, and uniquely theirs, too? It felt sincere for me, for them to be bonded, and not romantically so. The sex might’ve made things felt romantic, but honestly, I really believe that they just used the opportunity of the ceremony that kind of makes people horny to enjoy some naughty time hehe! I specially love how sexy Cas is about exploring sex with Poppy, and how into it he was about the joining. I get that sometimes kind of feels like everything is about Poppy. Like, she’s the most powerful, the wolven are now bonded to her, she’s a God, the chosen, the prophecy and so on, that annoys me a little that everything is about her when I would really love for it be just as much about Cas too, because I love him just as much, but the joining I really felt it was about the tree of them and very fair. It made sense either, for me, why they did it! It really settle me too, that after the joining, Cas, Poppy and Kieran were exact the same. And I particularly love that scene when Kieran joined Poppy and Cas on their tent to sleep with them and she remarks how the both of them, Poppy and Kieran, are drawn to Cas very strongly ❤️
9th, Reaver: AND THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT ONE because is a wish of my heart, ok? But I WOULD LOVE SO FUCKING MUCH if Kieran and Reaver became a couple! All that snark between them scream of sexual tension to me, and honestly, it would be SO HOT and funny the both of them together.
So, that is that, I think I talked about everything of note. I hope the next book is more complete in the sense of well constructed plans and such things, and that nobody important gets separated of their loved ones. And that nobody ever touches Delano again u.u
Ok, so. This one wasn’t the best book of the series, but between 6, some were bound to be weaker. Nonetheless, I’m already waiting for The Heart of Bone and Ash, hopefully next year?!

SPOILERS AHEAD!
HOUSE OF SKY AND BREATH! WOW! God, this book. I need to talk about it. And this ending? Oh GOD! I’m still shook!
I mean, after ToG and ACOTAR, we new Crescent City would be excellent, but this book kind of blew my mind. I wasn’t expecting this kind of plot, those intrigues and twists. I wasn’t ready! And I was so f*cking shocked about a lot!
When I started reading I was a little underwhelmed and thought that the plot was a little slow, but then, things started to take form and shit started to happen, and I couldn’t put the book down! Of course, as the book progressed the story just got more and more interesting, exciting, tense and wow, so AMAZING!
Let’s talk about things:
- Bryce and Hunt are mates! Yes, finally, they are everything!
- I didn’t love the whole “let’s find Emile” thing, but I think it was interesting the things they ended up finding out (like about the second light and everything about the resistance) in the process of looking for him. How his arc ended was cute.
- Cormac! I was so pissed when he showed up with that marriage talk, and I was like, oh God, another obstacle for Bryce and Hunt, and the type I don’t think is remotely cool. But then we find out he is in the resistance, and I was like, WOW WHAT AN AMAZING PLOT TWIST! I really loved it. I was ready to hate the guy, and I was pleasantly surprised that instead, I loved him!
- Ruhn! I’m obsessed with him! I already loved him so much from the first book, and this book only cemented that even more. Him lending his ability to the resistance and being all rebellious and fuck you Dad was really amazing.
- Agent Daybright… HOLY MOLLY! I think this storyline was my favorite of this book! I’m so here for it! I can’t even express how shocked I was after discovering it was Lidia! Like, man, such a powerful surprise, because of her position, reputation and everything it represents for the story. I hope she gets to hurt and/or kill Pollux really soon! (I’m a bit bloodthirst here, sorry, but like, how can you not be when talking about Sandriel ex triarii?) And she and Ruhn? Oh yeah, that’s my couple! I’m only surviving that ending because she is close to Ruhn and Hunt, it’s my hope that she can help them somehow!
- I love Hypaxia, she’s such a smart woman and a lovely character. I’m expecting so much from her in the next book. Specially because of Celestina hand in the shit show at the end.
- I never trusted Celestina very much. Something about her was so off for me. And maybe she redimes herself, but if not, good riddance!
- I thought is was really cool the Princes of Hell part in the book. How cool is to have Hell as an ally and not a enemy for a change?! I loved it, and knowing they kicked the Asteri out! You go Hell!! And honestly, I think Hunt is the son of some powerful Hell dude!
- What to say about Baxian? Jesus, I loved everything about his storyline. Him helping Hunt and him being Danika’s mate, wow! That was unexpected, but very cool! I look forward to having him as an ally in the next book!
- I love Ithan so much! I’m so glad he was kicked out of Sabine’s pack and is free from her, because he deserves so much more! And I loved that he moved in with Ruhn, Flynn and Emmet! And him and the mystic arc have so much promise for the next book! I can’t wait for Sabine to suffer, because I’m very sure she has everything to do with the mystic being a slave!
Now about that INSANE ending:
What an idiotic idea to go to the Asteri place! It had disaster written all over, of course. Everybody knew shit was gonna go down really bad, but like, not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine that kind of a shitshow! I understand that it was vital to get the information that Sofie -kind of, maybe?- died for, but man, they could have made a better plan than that!
1- The Asteri are disgusting and horrible beings, they’ve been destroying and slaving planets for so long! God, I got so pissed learning that! I hope the ending for them is compatible with everything they deserve!
2- Oh, God! Ruhn and Hunt being in the Asteri hands after what they done is so so bad! I hope that between that and the next book, Sarah don’t do something like, make them forget who they are or get so broken because of torture or something like this (or even worst, kill one of them)! Watching Hunt getting the tattoo again was painful enough already! I can’t handle them suffering like that or even thinking what those disgusting Asteri parasites can do to them! And really scares me how Bryce will find them when she gets back!
There’s a small saving grace here that Flynn and Emmet kind of know where they are and what happened, but still, it’s going to be a battle.
3- AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: BRYCE LANDING IN VELARIS! Like, OH MY GOD! Is this really happening? Is this real life? Am I reading correctly? I was so socked, I almost cried! I was very confused either. Like, are there the original planet where the people of Midgard came from? How Bryce describes Rhys looking so like Ruhn is so very interesting! I think we are going to find out a lot about Amren, finally! And God, Rhys and everybody else helping Bryce is going to be soooooo amazing! I missed them very much 💙
We’re going to find out so many interesting things on the next book! I can’t wait to read more, like so much more! When’s the next book out?! Does anyone have any idea?

So, for the past couple of weeks I’ve been deep on the Ritchieverse (Krista and Becca Ritchie authors), more specific, I just read the 9 books on the Like Us series.
To be honest, the synopsis for the 1st book didn’t sold the book very well to me. This client-bodyguard dynamic didn’t sound very interesting, but I was addicted to the M/M books, so, I started Damaged Like Us, the first book, and now, 9 books later, I’m a huge fan!
The first 2 books are M/M and the couple (Maximoff and Farrow) is one of my favorites ever. They totally sold the series for me.
Throughtout the series you have M/M, F/M, M/F/M, plus hot bodyguards, family drama, famous and rich people, media shenanigans, and so on…
❥ Maximoff and Farrow have such a fun and hot dynamic. I love the progress of their relationship and all the cute and funny parts. I also love them individually, personality wise and their friendships. Give me a book of those two any day and I’ll always read ‘em. (Books: Damaged Like Us, Lovers Like Us, Alphas Like Us and Headstrong Like Us)
❥ I’m not a huge fan of Jane and Tatcher, because I hated all the insecurities and I didn’t love Tatcher’s personality, but, the books are ok. (Books: Tangled Like Us and Sinful Like Us)
❥ Oscar and Jack are my babies. Talk about great personalities and a light read. I loved the book, the progress of the relationship and everything. I also loved SO MUUUCH that this book gives us a first deeper glimpse of Charlie’s life and personality! (Book: Charming Like Us)
❥ Now, Sulli, Akara and Banks! That’s a more complex relationship for me. See, I’ve read books with poly amorous relationships before and I always hated someone in the relationship, not gonna lie. And although I have a favorite here, I don’t hate the other guy, because the books were very well written on that, specially. And that made me so happy because I loved the dynamic so much more than I thought I would. And the sex scenes are hot, let me tell you! 🔥 (Books: Wild Like Us and Fearless Like Us)
→ What I really love about this series is that the character from past books are super present in every book, the family and friends interactions are amazing and there’s a lot of characters to relate to and love. Also, there’s more books coming, the series is still going and there’s a lot of characters stories still to come! Witch I love so much because I have attachment issues :P
So, I STRONGLY encourage you to read this series!
I’m also VERY excited for the next book, about Luna, to be released in October (Book: Infamous Like Us)
Obs.: this series take place years in the future of another two series of the authors. I didn’t read those yet, and you don’t have to read it, but, if you like: Addicted series and Calloway Sisters series.

Ok, so this is where I am now on my reading world, the CUT & RUN SERIES.
The m/m lit is really my thing, I figured.
I was a little lost after the Green Creek series, and I found this one. The cover didn’t get much of my attention, but the Goodreads reviews were good and 9 books? I liked the prospect of that, so I thought, why not? And to be honest I’m really into the cop/police genre, so, there I went.
And BOOM. I’m finishing the 9th book AND I’M DYING because I just can’t live without Ty Grady and Zane Garret!
I honestly didn’t think I was going to love this series, but, oh man, I FREAKING LOVE THIS SERIES. The action, the the sex, the way the relationships evolve, the funny parts, the so very tender moments, and the crazy plot twists! WOW! It has everything! And after every book I was just so happy there were more, because I just couldn’t get enough of it. But here I am now, at the last one.
Ty and Zane are among my favorite book characters EVER and them as a couple is one of my favorite relationships of all times. I love the way there’s not much dancing around untill they come together, you don’t have to read a lot of pointless things before you get to the good stuff and relationship development part, and then, they rarely separate. I respect and love an author that don’t make my read a whole book just to see the couple together at the end, or eventually. I like the couple together all the time and going through shit together, and this book has all that and more, and I couldn’t get enough. Beyond that, Ty and Zane personalities are everything. Their life stories are so interesting, their dynamics and the growing and the changing of it is perfect! And well, I could write and essay about everything I love about this book, but I’m not gonna do that!
I honestly didn’t think I would love these books so much. Sometimes I like a book, sometimes I love ‘em, and sometimes (not often) I feel like my heart will break after ending a series, because I’ll miss the characters so much after I finish and I feel like I’m saying goodbye to a dear dear friend. And I’m feeling that now. I’m just so attached to Ty and Zane and the C&R universe, I just can’t bring myself to finish, because I don’t want to end it forever 😩
So, that’s my today’s very long post about another book I LOVE and encourage you to read, or, if you already have, just talk to me about it, I would love that!
I’m going to go now, and read the last 4 chapters of the last book very slowly (until the end of the day I’ll finish it and prob cry). K, bye.

Impossibly, ridiculously, Carter whispered through a mouthful of blood, “Oh shit. I think I’m bisexual.”
Heartsong, by TJ Klune.
I think this is the best part of this book. I love Carter so much. 😂
I’m finishing Heartsong, and without a doubt Kelly and Robbie are my favorite couple so far. I love them so so so so much. And their story is heartbreaking and beautiful and so full of love. Kelly is my favorite, he has my heart and he is perfect.
And I’m stalling, because I don’t want to end the book yet. Although I’m very excited to read Carter’s story!
Uff, this series is perfect, so amazing, I’m so in love. I think is one of the bests I ever read!

I started reading Wolfsong by TJ Klune yesterday, and I took my sweet time before I started, bc I didn’t know if i’d like the book, if it’d be my thing. I was also a bit tired of werewolves books, not gonna lie.
But, oh man, I’M SO IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. It happened very quickly.
I love the pace of the book, the storytelling is amazing, the story is so well constructed. You don’t starve for details or depth for a single moment. I can’t stop reading!
Sometimes fantasy or romance books can feel very simple and unsurprising, but this one? WOW! This one is epic and awesome ;)
