Cats with lil harnesses and leashes! Cats in screened in porches and outdoor cat enclosures! Spayed/neutered pet AND stray cats! Bells on cats that have to be outdoors (not as effective but still has reduced some bird mortalities)!

I’m no expert (just a zoology major in college), but cats used to be a form of pest control for crops and ships and whatnot, hence why they lived outdoors. Since that is no longer their purpose in most societies, their control methods are just destructive.

You think they “want” to go outside and do those things? No and that’s anthropomorphism, it’s just in their nature to catch things, they don’t have to do it.

You can still provide enough stimulation to keep your cat occupied indoors. Cat trees, toys, puzzles, giving them attention. These things work!

as a huge lover of birds, 90% of the concern against wind turbines being used for energy is literally just pro fossil fuel propaganda. birds ARE at a risk however there is a lot of strategies even as simple as painting one of the blades that reduces a lot of accidental deaths. additionally renewable energy sources will do more in favor of the environment that would positively impact birds (and all of us). one study found over one million bird deaths from wind turbines. while that is a shockingly high number and we should work to drastically shrink it, at least 1.3 billion birds die to outdoor cats on a yearly basis. it was never about caring about birds

The ages of the characters we’ve met so far (for those who only saw the movies, which got them horribly wrong):

Percy: 12

Annabeth: 12 (she’s about a month older than Percy)

Grover: They may have changed this for the show, but in the books he’s 28 but looks 12 (satyrs age half as fast as humans)

Clarisse: 13-14; She’s supposed to be 1-2 years older than Percy I believe, as she’s mentioned being in college in the Trials of Apollo series (when Percy is 17)

Luke: He’s 19 in the first book, again idk if they’re gonna change that for whatever reason but the casting choice seems correct age-wise

I’m watching Percy Jackson right now and…..

It’s very good. The only problem I have with it is that Clarisse is like 15-16 chasing a 12 year old.

For clarification I’ve never read the books. I did grow up on the movies though, so help me out.

I absolutely will die on this hill, access to fiction that makes your skin crawl and open discussion about it is the best way to keep that skin crawling fiction from happening in reality.

It doesn't matter if it is ~positively~ or negatively portrayed. If you censor it, we don't talk about it, then we can't protect against it.
