Meeting Azul's family [headcanons]

I'm back on my bullshit

From the second you two started dating, Azul knew exactly how his mother was going to react to it. The day he told her about you on the phone he almost missed the opening of Mostro Lounge because she wouldn't stop asking him questions. "Tell me more about your s/o! What are their hobbies, what plans do they have for the future? Did you kiss yet?"

Doesn't help that you're likely his first

Mrs. Ashengrotto feels like she's witnessing an important rite of passage in her son's life so she's all like "My Azul got himself a partner 🥺"

And let me tell you, Azul fucking hates answering the questions, especially the ones about whether you kissed yet and whether he told you he loves you yet

There's a chance the call happens when you're around as well and Azul really didn't think this through when he told her so now you're getting to watch him get asked all the details about your relationship while Azul is sitting next to you as a flustered mess, trying hard to brush his mother's bonding attempts off and you're trying hard not to make a sound and prevent yourself from laughing

If you really want to tease him, run your fingers along his arms or tickle the back of his neck while he's trying to answer a question coherently. He's gonna look at you like "Are you fucking kidding me? Am I not suffering enough?" This will potentially end in a tickle / pillow fight when he hangs up the phone but it's worth it

Next time she calls she's like "Are you with them rn? Can I talk to them for a second?". Azul hands you his phone and his mum tells you it's so nice to get to know you and how happy she is that you two are dating and invites you to like 3 family dinners

"I'm glad you two managed to get together. Azul used to be such a shy child so I bet he was really nervous about asking you out", cue Azul hiding his face in his hands and the twins having a fucking field day wheezing in the background

Azul's really nervous about you meeting his family for the first time, mostly because he's scared of anything embarrassing happening. I headcanon his mum doesn't know about his insecurities and how much he was bullied in elementary school, so she might be a little tone-deaf to what Azul would find embarrassing and what he wouldn't. To her it's mostly "I can see y/n loves you very much, they're not going to leave you over a couple of funny childhood stories"

Now, I imagine Mrs. Ashengrotto as like, this huge octopus lady who's way taller than her son and even more tall than her husband and spoils her son rotten. Upon seeing you the first thing she does is sweep you into a hug and welcome you to the family. She looks to Azul and goes "Your s/o is so pretty, you two really fit together!"

All in all she's just really positive and welcoming

The type to give you a huge Coral Sea gift bucket (yes, for free) filled with a bunch of souvenirs and local foods

Azul's stepdad is a little more distant but polite and welcoming as well. He mostly just doesn't know what to talk about with you yet so he lets his wife do most of the talking at the dinner table. If you happen to have any common interests, expect him to start a rather long discussion about them though

Azul's grandmother is the slightly intimidating one. She's the type to tell you "Don't break his heart" and there's this threatening aura around her

But treat your octopus boyfriend well and this family will treat you like one of their own. Azul's mum would fistfight anyone who bothers you and Azul's stepdad would fight for your honor in a court process.

Everything's going well up until the point Mrs. Ashengrotto pulls out the baby photos. It doesn't bother you but it sure as hell bothers Azul. If only he had edited or destroyed those as well but he didn't want to upset his mum or give her the feeling that something is wrong

When you notice how much Azul is struggling with this, this is the point where you could pull him aside and be the voice of reason, telling him it'd probably be best if he has a talk with his family about the fact that he overblotted

He's hesitant at first and refuses to but after a few reassuring words from your side I think he realizes it would do him good to talk about this and get closure

His family listens to him attentively and you can see how Azul's shaking a bit and stuttering when he gets to the most painful parts of his past. Saying these things out loud is really hard for him so he appreciates you running your hand across his back or putting an arm around his shoulder to comfort him.

His mum is gonna cry and pull her son into the biggest hug. She noticed Azul had grown more distant during the time he was bullied but she could never place her finger on why exactly and he would just pretend everything was fine.

She's partly gonna blame herself for not having supported him more or noticed he was struggling so much but Azul tells her it's fine, she didn't know

After seeing his family's reaction, Azul is definitely glad he told them. They're very supportive and tell him he can rely on them if he needs to. Also Mrs. Ashengrotto about to march into NRC and kick Crowleys ass for letting this overblot happen in the first place

Azul's mum would take cute couple pics of you two and have them as her wallpaper

While it went well, Azul is very exhausted after this whole ordeal so expect him to fall asleep in your arms, clutching onto you very tightly and pressing his face into your shoulder. He's also very proud he gets to introduce you as his partner to people. Azul gives you a very soft and thankful smile and presses multiple gentle, appreciative kisses to your lips while whispering "i love you" and "good night my dear" in between them

Concept: Twisted Wonderland Beach Event

@grimoires-and-treasuremaps and I had this idea so now you have to suffer too.

It'd have cards for all the dorm leaders.

Vil SSR where both the regular one and the groovy look like very pretty beach modeling shots

Leona SSR, one where he's in the water and the groovy shows him sleeping on one of those beach chairs after getting out of the water, droplets of water are still on his ears and his tail is flicking (cute 🥺🥺🥺)

Kalim SR where his groovy shows him building a sandcastle

Riddle SR where his groovy shows him running away from Floyd on the beach

Azul R and he looks pouty because Jade and Floyd are teasing him and tell him he should transform into his octopus form

Malleus R but he's wearing one of those old-fashioned diving suits with a big ass helmet that is disproportionate to the rest of the outfit because his horns need to fit in there

Idia R but he's wearing this. He's not gonna go in the water, he just doesn't want to wear swimming pants 👇🏻

Things that'd happen in the event:

Azul sells Mostro Lounge drinks to unsuspecting locals at the beach

Floyd buries Kalim in the sand

Vargas wearing a speedo (thanks I hate it)

Crowley leaves the dorm leaders to entertain the locals because he is so yasashi

Deuce tries surfing but he fails

Ace and Jack actually manage to surf

Cater takes selfies with the Leech twins

Trey is basically the baywatch

Jade swims around in his eel form and spooks swimmers

Rook tries to touch Leonas tail while he's sleeping but Ruggie swats him off

Ruggie steals money from unsuspecting locals

Sebek fans Malleus with an unnecessarily large palm tree leaf

Jamil tries to get Kalim out of the sand

Jamil and Kalim win the sandcastle contest

Lilia, Epel, Ortho and Silver go look for nice shells and rare stones on the beach

Azul goes to look for a treasure with a 2 madol souvenir map

The dorm leaders defeat a dramatically large sea monster that just appears from the depths of the ocean and wreaks havoc but it turns out it was only looking for its child which Azul finds with the 2 madol souvenir map instead of a treasure and which clings to Leona like Cheka does

Vil has to pry the child off Leona and lead it back to his parent like the mum friend he is

Summary: You are having a difficult time for a couple of weeks now, and you haven't talked to anyone about it. You weren't sure if you were planning to, but someone certain made sure you'd finally get it off your chest to a loved one (that happens to be him).

It was a night with a clear sky where the stars could shine like the Pomefiore dorm uniforms. Everyone should be sleeping at this time, but you couldn't, and you wish the Headmaster wouldn't wander around to find you there, walking down the main Street of the Campus alone. These past weeks life just hasn't been so easy to you. Personal reasons. You didn't feel like sharing with anyone in the school, even your closest friends. You thought that coping by strolling down the street past midnight would help, but you fooled yourself. The bad thoughts and worries wouldn't leave as simply as that.

You shook your head, sighed and looked at the bright stars that looked like glitter on black fabric. You found a bench and sat there, hands on face sceptically. You felt like everything in your life was crumbling down and that you were alone in this. A knot in your neck bothered you, and made you curse under your breath. At least the night was peaceful, and the ambient sounds of it slightly soothed your frustration. The silence wouldn't last for long though...

"O là là!" You heard a voice in the distance that made you wince, as it echoed in the quiet campus, but what exactly pierced the bench right next to you startled you so much you couldn't even have the time to scream.

An arrow? For a brief moment you almost panicked. What why would an arrow have a place in such a time in the school? Was someone after someone else? Were there assassins? That immediately put you out of your thoughts and into a defensive stance out of instinct.

"Oh, mon dieu! I scared you, Monsieur? Pardon, pardon, it wasn't done on purpose, argh, seems like I got distracted by my target!" The familiar voice and the footsteps rapidly came closer as a tall guy with a very distinctive blond bob cut run towards you.

"Hunt? What are you doing this late here... With this?..." You tried to sound unfazed and a bit apathetic so that you wouldn't make him raise an eyebrow about your mood. It wasn't the time for this...

"Oh, Roi de mon cœur! It is you! Mon Dieu! I almost hit you!" His overdramatic reaction made you realise that he was obviously acting. He probably had this all already set, as you know him... And of course he wasn't aiming at you, but right next to you, to catch your attention.

"Ah non, don't mind me! I was just having some late night practice! I have set some targets for me, I can't fail! I will do my best!" He enthusiastically said and put a hand on his chest with pride.

"Is that so... Well, have a good pra-"

"Oh, look how beaute is the sky tonight! Romantic!" Before you could even finish your sentence, he sat very close to you, crossed his legs and hugged you with one arm even closer. His wide smile was so suffocating at the moment, but it is the smile you loved the most. You just needed some alone time and it seems he didn't get the hint...

"The stars shine so bright tonight, non?... It's like your eyes... Roi de mon cœur? What's wrong?..." He suddenly calmed down and his face looked genuinely concerned. He turned his face to him by gently holding your cheeks and chin. His eyes became gloomy with his sympathy for you as he noticed the lack of brightness in yours.

"I've been noticing that dropped face of yours for days, Roi... That's the actual reason I'm here with you now..." He placed a soft kiss on your forehead.

"I knew it..."

"Why you sound so sad about it... You know that I care you, non?"

"Yes, Rook... I do... I just needed some time for myself to think. I'm just having some personal problems going on these days... It's alright, it'll be better soon, you don't have to w-!!"

"Ugh!" He let out a sob as he pulled you in his embrace tightly, letting your face nuzzle his shoulder. His strong hand held your head in place and ruffled your hair.

"R- Rook?"

"(Y/n)!! I can't stop being worried about you!" He gently grabbed your neck and gave you three continuous kisses, one more passionate than the other. "Je t'aime!! I love you so much, Roi de mon cœur!... You can always count on me..." His voice slightly cracked at the end of his sentence, and that brought tears to your eyes, that so far had nothing to get wet for.

You gently gripped his jacket as you hugged back. "I also love you, Rook... A lot... I promise I'll talk to you, when I feel like to, hm?"

"Oui, this sounds ideal... Let me give you a kiss!" He smiled and kissed your cheek and lips quickly. "Come back inside now... If the Headmaster catch you out here, you'll have to listen to him!" He chuckled and pulled your hand.

"Eh, you're right... Let's go..." You kissed his cheek as you walked back inside the Mirror Chamber to transfer to your dorms...

Twisted Wonderland - Cuddling headcanons - Malleus Draconia

- This boy is shy, shy, shy! Mainly because he’s still learning to understand how humans and their emotions work, so you expressing your desire to cuddle with him would leave him a bit in awe at first. But don’t think he doesn’t want it, oh no, he’d love it. He just struggles with going ahead with it a little.

- If you initiate it would kinda feel like you’re hugging a log at first. Slowly but surely he’ll get used to it though and start leaning into your embrace, while also hesitantly bringing his arms up to your shoulder blades. Malleus isn’t really used to physical affection so give him time, he’ll need to settle in first.

- Once he has settled in though he won’t let go of you. Nu-uh. He’ll bury his head into the crook of your neck and enjoy your warmth while gently rubbing your back up and down. Malleus loves long, emotional hugs that turn into loving cuddles, so eventually he’d lead you somewhere comfortable and pull you into his chest, letting your head rest against him while he gently strokes your hair and holds you close.

- Malleus would also start putting soft kisses onto your head and whisper sweet nothings while doing so. Might take him a little but once he gets used to you he’s gonna be one big, horned ball of emotions. No day goes by without Malleus telling you how much he loves and appreciates you, especially during cuddling. He’ll stay with you for as long as you want him to, making absolutely sure you feel safe and warm in his arms.

- Malleus loves to enjoy the moment, so he’s usually not very talkative while holding you. Though sometimes (or if you start with it) he’ll just talk about his day and, well, Gargoyles of course. Eventually though you’d notice his breathing grow slower as he’d slowly but surely fall asleep, his cheek gently leaning against your head, his arms still firmly wrapped around you. You give him so much solace he can’t help but relax in your presence. It’s up to you whether you want to take an entangled nap with him or gently slip out of his hold and let him rest for a bit. If Malleus wakes up and notices you’re still resting in his arms, he’ll smile and stay with you until you wake up, all the while putting kisses all over you. If he wakes up and you’re gone, he’ll feel a bit embarrassed about having fallen asleep on you and is definitely going to apologize for it a lot.

Floyd legit doesn't know and doesn't really think about that either. If you don't change too much from the person he initially fell in love with, he'll gladly keep you around forever, he just doesn't actively think about it. Floyd is very much a "live in the moment" kind of guy but if you ask him he'd totally say "You're mine, koebi-chan. You stay with me." with a happy smile on his face. Generally Floyd just kinda....rolls with a lot of things. Want to marry him? Why not. Want to have children with him? Sure, he'd love them and care for them well, whether they're adopted or not. Moving in together? Why not. None of these? Also okay. Floyd sure as hell isn't the easiest person to deal with for everyone out there but he definitely won't have a hard time adjusting to your plans and wishes.

Hang around him a lot. Get excited with him. Join him in whatever chaotic ideas he has. Give him affection. Show genuine interest in the things he has to say or wants to do. That should do it. Floyd's a wild card and oftentimes people dismiss them, sometimes for valid reasons, but if you don't do that I think he'd be drawn to you.

- clingy slippery fish man - he’s a massive tease and will clown you for pretty much anything - hyperactive, probably constantly on a near lethal dose of caffeine - very PDA, will show you off to anybody he meets - loves holding hands with you - will kiss you or stroke your cheek when you least expect it, causing you to jump and/or get embarrassed if it’s in public - this man loves seeing you flustered - won’t hesitate to play pranks on you to get your attention - and he wants your attention 99.9% of the time - he’s kinda like a high maintenance puppy - follows you around absolutely everywhere and pretty much never shuts up - if you’re doing something that keeps you from being with him/giving him attention he gets really annoying - like, he’s gonna go absolutely feral - would probably bite and scratch furniture like an angry cat - would literally kill for you - when you both are alone he’s the sweetest ever though - he’d do whatever he can for you - loves just relaxing with you, listening to you talk about your day or what you’re passionate about - sometimes gets insecure - he’ll snuggle up to you whenever he feels down - affectionate nibbling - will act like a cat when you’re working/going after your hobbies - like, he’d sit on your table or lap and be extra clingy and annoying - again, he loves seeing you get emotional so any reaction would be absolute bliss for this boy - “Hey, hey, y/n, pay attention to me~” - loves being the little spoon when cuddling but is also fine with being the big spoon if you want him to be - personal space? What’s that? - he always respects your wishes though, of course - an unconventional gentleman - you’re definitely gonna be the most important thing in his life and he’ll treat you as such - he’d shower you in gifts and affection pretty much all the time - usually not very corny but can be if he knows it annoys you - kind of a drama queen but you love him for it and you know it

All in all, he’d be a clingy, sometimes annoying but also loving and adorable partner who’d cherish you and always make sure you’re feeling loved by him. He loves you with all your flaws and insecurities, even if he might poke fun at them a bit, it’s all in good loving fun!

Cuddling with Azul

Have some more fluff headcanons I wrote while in complete brainrot about this man. Twisted Wonderland has consumed my soul. I hope this will make someone feel the same state of simping I am experiencing so we can share our suffering

First off Azul is touch-starved™ and receiving affection especially if it's early on in the relationship will make him melt.

Secondly, you don't believe how easily this man cries out of happiness. He doesn't want to but more than often he will shed at least a few tears when being showered with love. Especially if he had a stressful day. Especially if it's during long cuddling sessions. Especially if it's late at night because he gets sappy when tired.

Poor guy comes back from a dorm leader meeting with everyone arguing for a solid hour and a half and Crowley going on a long rant about how generous he is; so Azul's all the more glad when he finds you having fallen asleep in his bed after waiting for him to come back. You have your own room key which is technically not allowed in NRC but we must not forget that Azul was somehow able to bribe Crowley so one room key isn't going to get him into trouble.

He didn't intend on waking you up, but you did when he put his arms around you. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" His apology gets cut off by your lips softly pressing onto his own. Kisses already make him melt but getting them unexpectedly makes his heart beat faster and makes him lean into your touch even more.

You both smile into the kiss and you run a hand through Azuls hair, helping him unwind after the dorm leader meeting.

He's laying on the side, pushing himself up with his lower arm and slightly leaning over you; gently laying a hand against your cheek and putting soft kisses to your forehead.

This is the point where one of you tells the other you've missed them. Sometimes you end up speaking in unison.

You look into each other's eyes with a smile on your faces and you press a kiss onto the tip of Azul's nose, which makes his smile widen.

You pull him down into your arms and he wraps his own arms tightly around you. He starts quietly telling you about his day or the dorm leader meeting or his work for a while with you occasionally placing kisses onto his forehead and running your fingertips across his back.

At this point he's still the smooth talker he presents himself to be in public; smirking a lot and adding the usual level of drama to his voice when he tells you about something.

Azul talks a lot when you cuddle, unless he's overwhelmed. He enjoys getting his thoughts out to someone he can trust in a comfortable setting and it helps him de-stress at the end of the day. You listen to eachother attentively while being tangled up in each other's arms.

At some point your sentences become more quiet whispers. You talk about your feelings, saying you love each other and throwing in the occasional compliment. Once Azul knows he can trust you and that he can be open with you, these things come easy to him and he never gets tired of them.

Ever since you two got together he doesn't lose his composure anymore when being confronted with lots of compliments or being teased by you. Before that verbal affection used to catch him off guard and occasionally make him flustered.

A very different story, however, is anything that involves his octopus form. It took him ages to even be willing to show you this form or get comfortable being around you like this and it'll take him even longer to stop being a flustered mess and calming down when he's in his octopus form.

It's always the same thing over and over again: he transforms, you start reassuring him that he's beautiful and that you love him while holding him tight and he'll eventually start to ramble about how "maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all" or awkwardly trying to cover his tentacles with the blanket in an attempt for you not to see the form he dislikes. It usually ends with him turning onto his stomach and burying his face in the pillow so you can't see his flushed cheeks.

Place a couple of soft kisses between his shoulder blades and you'll make it worse. He loves it so much but he's still self-conscious about his merman form and the goosebumps on his skin aren't making it any better.

So he'll eventually turn around and bury his face in your neck instead, wrapping his tenctacles and arms around you.

Which is great because Azul has 10 limbs. He can hug you with 10 limbs instead of two.

Azul Ashengrotto also lowkey reinvented the concept of massages because again, the man has 10 limbs and 8 of them are highly flexible. He doesn't even need to change his position to do that, he can just keep being wrapped in your arms comfortably and kissing you while he's massaging your arms, legs and back all at the same time.

Azul is a very affectionate partner, for one because he's so touch-starved and on the other hand because he needs a lot of validation and love to heal from his past. And he might get embarrassed easily or struggle to wrap his head around the fact that you love him no matter what but receiving care and kind words when he's in this form helps him a lot in getting more comfortable in his own skin and putting a few positive comments about it into his mind in contrast to all the negative ones he so vividly remembers.

Kiss one of his tentacles and he'll break. In, like, a good way. I headcanon they're really sensitive and receiving touch like this to a part of himself he has struggled to accept for so long and still struggles to accept in addition to being emotional overall in this form and also in love with you will make him a mess™. This is the point where he starts crying. It's as much of a contrast to his usual calm and witty facade as his state after his overblot was to the shady business man people knew him as.

So there you have Azul Ashengrotto, curled up in your arms and pressing his face into your shoulder while he's letting out quiet sobs out of happiness.

"Please don't stop", he mutters quietly, face flushing red immediately when he realizes what he said. Azul apologizes and you reassure him that there's nothing wrong with what he said and that you enjoy making him feel loved.

After a while he's just shaking his head and repeating "I love you" at least once every 2 minutes because he's feeling so much and can't put it into words but he needs to express it somehow.
