Headcanons for Iida as a dad
Best friend and I were just gushing over Iida as a father so I thought this would be the perfect place to share that
Tumblr media
Tenya would be glowing the day he meets his first child no matter the gender
If it was a boy he would absolutely name it after his brother
He would be such a doting father
Bedtime would be the best because he would just recount all the tales of his brother as a hero
The he would always tuck in his kids. Even when they’re like 18 passed out on couch from a late night paper or a party
When Tensei visits, Iida’s kid would just be like “Unk Ingenium!” in the cutest little voice they could muster. They would always be so excited to have him visit
Iida would be so proud of his kid being able to even say “Ingenium”
Sure Iida would make sure his child focused on their studies, but he would put more emphasis on his kid enjoying life.
YOU KNOW ALL THOSE PRO HEROES WOULD BE OVER FOR PLAY DATES! CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!!
Like THE Deku just walking up to Iida’s place to play with the little baby and telling them so many stories about Iida when they were in high school
Ingenium would absolutely be this kid’s favorite hero, but Deku would be 2nd for sure
Iida would also absolutely convince his partner to have another child just so his kids grow up with that same kind of sibling dynamic
The older sibling would naturally be super protective of this new child and give them lots of love and Iida would be in absolute tears almost every day because of it
Iida would probably cry buckets the day each of his kids’ quirks manifests
I think the older sibling would have the engine quirk manifest, but the younger sibling would have a different quirk and would be nervous and embarrassed by it because now they can’t be like daddy
BUT IIDA WOULD BE SO PROUD AND DOTING AND WOULD MAKE THAT CHILD FEEL LIKE THEY COULD DO ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING! Imagine: The kid saying they want to be like Iida and Iida pulls the “you get to be the hero you want to be! You are your own person and Dad will love you no matter the quirk you have”
Such a doting father ;_;

Bakugo walked off from the conversation, too angry about it to keep listening to it. He made it back to the classroom first. As he approached his desk, he found something was left there. He hadn’t left any of his notes so what the fuck was on the desk?
It was a letter.
Something inside Bakugo sounded an alarm. He picked up the letter and opened it up. It read:
         Dear Bakugo,
You are such a talented fighter! You are incredible flying through the air with your explosions, fighting villains and keeping them at bay. You are the man of my dreams! I want to see you and confess to you myself how I feel! Please meet me in the courtyard tomorrow after school! If you don’t show up, I’ll just keep pestering you

Chapter 2: Katsuki Bakugo
Bakugo was up early in the morning getting some extra training in. After about an hour, he got himself cleaned up and headed out to school. It was actually nice to be able to walk to school without anyone bothering him. It was basically his only peace for the day.
He was the first to arrive in the classroom and again enjoyed the peace of being alone. After about 2 minutes of waiting, he heard an annoying voice who he recognized as belonging to the class rep.
“Good morning Bakugo! It’s great that you’re here so early! Keep up the good work” Iida greeted him.
“Tch” was Bakugo’s response.
The next one to arrive was Yaoyurozu.
“Good morning Bakugo,” She said gently.
Bakugo just grunted. Next was Tsuya who sat at her desk and took out her notes. Momo walked over and sat at the desk next to her and asked about her notes.
Unexpectedly, the next student through the door was Sero. He gave everyone a normal greeting and sat down with his notes from yesterday as well. Bakugo forgets that some of his classmates are actually studious. The loudest ones weren’t though.
Deku walked in next avoiding eye contact with Bakugo. Good. He looked out the window, hearing the rest of the students start to trickle in. Aizawa started to say something about policy changes of some of the school’s training grounds and such. Bakugo didn’t pay too much attention to it.
“GOOD MORNING CLASS 1-A! LET’S GET READY TO CONJUGATE SOME VERBS!” Present Mic yelled entering the classroom.
Hearing that shrieking voice that early in the morning really got on his nerves. Bakugo didn’t have much trouble with English, he just had problems with the guy who taught it. He was too loud for his own damn good.
Soon enough they were dismissed for lunch. Bakugo walked out of the classroom by himself but Kirishima managed to catch up to him.
“Hey man, did you understand any of what Present Mic was saying back there?” Kirishima asked.
“It’s not that complicated dumbass. I’ll show you at the table” Bakugo replied.
Bakugo grabbed his food and sat down at his usual table away from everyone else. Kirishima plopped down next to him followed by Mina, Kaminari, and Sero.
“So, what don’t you understand idiot?” Bakugo asked in a somewhat decent tone.
Mina was babbling about something to Kaminari while Bakugo and Kirishima worked.
“Oh, that’s how you do it?” Sero asked, looking over Kirishima’s shoulder.
“Oh yeah, now I get it! Thanks, Bakugo!” Kirishima excitedly replied.
“Yeah yeah whatever”
Lunch was over soon after that. The group made their way back to the classroom. As they took their seats, Mina spoke up.
“Did you guys hear about a rumor that’s been going around the school?” She asked with her eyes all lit up.
“This isn’t the rumor about that one kid that accidentally activated his expansion quirk during class and pushed everyone out of the room?” Kaminari asked.
“Oh no this one is much juicier,” Mina said with a grin.
The whole class was listening in on it now. They all started whispering to each other what the rumor could be.
“What’s going on here?” Iida scolded.
“Oh, I just heard this rumor that a second-year dated everyone in the hero course the year before we got here! That would include the current third years!” Mina gossiped excitedly.
“What? that’s ridiculous! There is no way that rumor is true” Iida shot back.
“I don’t know I think it’s possible! Plus, I heard they were scoping out our class!” Mina countered.
Mineta was suddenly very close to the group now asking Mina if the person was a boy or girl. Bakugo tried to tune it out. He wanted them all to just shut up, so he spoke up loudly and angrily.
“If it’s true then that student is clearly pathetic, having to shuffle through a bunch of other students”.
He refused to look at everyone. This was all stupid speculation and he wanted none of it.
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind dating someone from a class above us. Even if it was for just one week” That dumb phone charger replied.
And without missing a beat, much to Bakugos delight, Jiro said “Well yeah, but you don’t have any standards”.
The class began to snicker until Cementoss walked in and told them to stop.
“Thank god”
Bakugo was back in the zone keeping up easily with the teacher and the subject matter. He noticed Midoriya sweating and zoning out. Cementoss had to call out his name twice just to keep him engaged in the work.
“Dumb Deku getting riled up over a stupid rumor,” Bakugo thought to himself and then continued with his work.
The class was soon over and everyone was leaving still talking about that dumb rumor.
“Hey what do you think about this rumor about that second-year?” Kirishima ask Bakugo as they walked out of the classroom.
“I think it’s garbage. I think people are dumb for believing it without a shred of evidence” He sneered.
He saw the wheels turning in Kirishima’s head.
“What if someone could prove it?” Kirishima asked.
“Eh? Are you going to figure it out shitty hair?” Bakugo mocked.
“I bet I could get some evidence either to prove it or disprove it” Kirishima said all fired up.
Bakugo knew Kirishima was just going to go off with or without him.
“Whatever. Just leave me out of it” Bakugo replied.
He thought everything about this situation was a waste of time. He marched his way back to the dorms as Kirishima turned around to go somewhere else.
The next day Bakugo made it to class early again. His routine was pretty strictly followed. He might have been a hothead but he did have discipline, just not when it comes to other people. Class started up again and the commotion from yesterday seemed to disperse much to Bakugo’s relief. Everything was back to normal and he could concentrate on getting better and better. Closer to being the number 1 hero.
They were all dismissed for lunch. Bakugo grabbed the spiciest food he could find. He sat himself down at the usual table with Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, and Sero in tow. Kirishima seemed excited to share something with the group.
“So, it turns out the person in the rumor didn’t date everyone but sent everyone a confession. Seems like they were waiting for a reply of someone that felt the same way” Kirishima explained.
“Oh. That sort of makes sense. Do you know if they sent them all at once??” Kaminari asked.
“No, I guess they just sent letters as they discovered they liked the person” Kirishima added.
“Hey, do you think they’re going to send a letter to someone in our class?” Mina chimed in.
“It could happen,” Kirishima said folding his arms and nodding.
It pissed Bakugo off. Here he was looking like he was the expert on a goddamned rumor. Where did he even get this information and how could they trust it. Bakugo just ate his food while they continued to gossip.
If you don’t show up, I’ll just keep pestering you
XoXo
Of course, it wasn’t signed. If it was Bakugo would have immediately found the person and explode them on the spot. His anger started to boil over. Kirishima and Kaminari entered the classroom first still discussing the rumor. They took one look at Bakugo and knew. Mina was right behind them and put her arms around their shoulders.
“What are we waiting out here for?” She asked confused.
Then she took a look at Bakugo. She put her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. The three quickly made their way over to Bakugo. Kirishima was craning over Bakugo’s shoulder to see the letter. Bold move.
“Oh, dude! That’s gotta be from the 2nd year!” Kirishima shouted surprised.
“THERE’S NO WAY SOME DUMB LOSER IN ANOTHER CLASS GAVE ME THIS SAD EXCUSE FOR A LETTER” Bakugo yelled almost blowing up the desks around him.
He was furious. He felt like someone was making him the butt of some terribly formed joke. It infuriated him. He burnt the letter with his quirk and it fell to his desk in ashes. Cementoss had to calm Bakugo down before class began. He was still seething in his seat, unable to focus.
By the time school was done, Bakugo had managed to calm down. He refused to go to the courtyard. If he got another letter, then he would track them down and kill them with his bare hands. On his way out he passed by Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki all standing there frozen.
"What are you losers up to" Bakugo growled.
He got a closer look as Midoriya turned around holding something in his hands.
It was another goddamn letter.
The rage came flooding back to him.
“This fucking nerd got a letter too?! What kind of a joke is this?!” Bakugo thought.
Bakugo started to crackle some small explosions in his hand ready to aim one right at Midoriya. Well, he meant to aim it at the letter but it didn’t look that way. Before Bakugo could destroy anything, Midoriya ran out of the building quicker than they could blink. Bakugo didn’t even try to run off after him. He just put his hand down, huffed it off, and started walking back to the dorms. This whole fiasco wasn’t worth his anger or time.
The next morning Bakugo arrived early to school again. He woke up extra early to train even more. It helped get most of his anger out from the previous day. He sat in his chair and put his feet up on the desk waiting for the day to begin. Class trickled in pretty slowly. Bakugo noticed Midoriya looked stiff but determined. Was he really going to confront the person who wrote that letter?
“I have to see this loser get punk’d”.
The day went on as normal with minimal mentions of the rumor and the love letters. Bakugo had made it to the last class of the day without getting too pissed off at any one person in particular. Then they started up again.
The class started wondering if the person who wrote the letters purposefully picked the two strongest boys in the class. They also wondered if it was a girl who did it, considering both Bakugo and Midoriya were male.
“I don’t think that means anything. This person could be gay, or bi, or pan….” Mina mentioned.
“Plus, this person could be non-binary or genderfluid or something” Jiro brought up.
There really wasn’t any reason to speculate about this person’s gender or sexual orientation.
“So you guys still think this mystery person exists?” Momo asked.
“What do you mean? They clearly exist because they’ve been writing letters” Kaminari replied.
“You guys could use some brushing up on your detective skills. This was a test from the teachers to see if you could question strange incidents instead of taking everything at face value” Momo explained.
“WHAT?! YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!” the whole class seemed to shout at the same time.
Bakugo grunted in response to Momo’s explanation. He figured something was up but didn’t bother to actually verify because he was too angry about it.
“Wait was this like a test test….like one we could fail?” Midoriya piped up.
“Oh crap…if this was a real test..” Bakugo thought, but his face gave away nothing.
“Oh no. I think this was just to assess where we all are currently as far as problem-solving goes” Momo replied.
The reply hit Bakugo like a ton of bricks. He would’ve failed if this was an actual test. He was too angry to actually see if the rumor was true. Maybe he was angry about possibly being mocked. Maybe he was too scared to actually confront someone else’s and his own feelings. Either way, he knew he had a long way to go before he could claim the title of Number One Hero.

I thought we could use more funny content in this category. Here's what the day in the life of each character might look like, only there is something that they are all centered on. A big dumb rumor.
Each chapter will be a different Student in 1-A with some appearances from class 1-B
Chapter 1: Midoriya Izuku
Midoriya had already been awake since 4 in the morning, training his quirk and his muscles. He doubled checked the time and realized he didn’t have much time left to get ready for class. He quickly cleaned himself off and put on his uniform. Ready for the day, he started on his short walk to class from the dorms.
Midoriya opened the door to only see about 5 of his classmates. There was Iida of course who was on his way back to the classroom door to make sure all of his classmates made it on time. Such is the job of a class rep. There was Sero who was already in his seat looking over some notes. Not someone he would have expected. Tsu was also at her desk waiting for the day to begin. Momo was seated next to Tsu discussing the notes from yesterday. Midoriya figured she would move back to her seat by the time class begins. Then, of course, Bakugo was in his seat, leaning back with the front legs of the chair up off of the floor.
Midoriya walked up to Tsu’s desk and greeted her. “Good morning Asu-Tsu” He corrected himself.
“Good morning Midoriya, gero” Tsu replied.
The two started chatting about yesterday’s class and what they were going to be learning today. Other students began to trickle in with Iida greeting each of them as they walked in. Iida asked them to quickly take their seats. Of course, most of them were too tired this early in the morning to have much energy to do much else. Kaminari looked like he was going to pass out straight onto his desk.
Aizawa stood up suddenly from behind the desk in his signature sleeping bag. He spoke about the use of the school’s training grounds and other policies that had changed recently. He then took his leave as Present Mic arrived.
“GOOD MORNING CLASS 1-A! LET’S GET READY TO CONJUGATE SOME VERBS!” Present mic yelled into the room. Kaminari shot up at his desk and then immediately groaned. Most of the class snickered. Midoriya just tried to focus considering English wasn’t necessarily his strong suit. He wasn’t bad at it by any means, he just didn’t excel at it like other students did.
Soon after class and a little bit of hero training, they were dismissed to go to lunch. Midoriya met up with Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki so they could eat lunch together.
“Why does English have to be so hard?” Uraraka sighed grabbing her tray and sitting down at their usual table.
“Would you like some help with today's homework?” Iida offered.
“Oh, would you mind helping me too?” Midoriya asked. Todoroki nodded in agreement, wanting to join their impromptu study session. The 4 of them got to work as they ate their food.
It seemed like lunch had gone by way too fast. It was as if Midoriya got 5 minutes of helpful advice from Iida before they had to return back to the classroom. Midoriya sighed but kept an optimistic outlook on the day. He wanted to be the best he could be and that required extra work and a good attitude.
As Midoriya and his friends returned, the others who were already in the classroom seemed to be buzzing about something.
As if summoned, Mineta shot up and was instantly right beside Mina.
“Girl or boy! This is a life or death situation and I need to know now! Was it a girl or a boy!” Mineta desperately asked.
“Hmm I don’t know if their gender was stated in the rumor, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who gets asked out first!” Mina told him. Mineta slumped back into his seat.
It’s true this rumor did sound ridiculous, but weirder things have happened, right? Midoriya started thinking about how this would have happened when he stumbled back into the phrase ‘Scoping out our class’. He froze and turned completely red.
“What's the matter Deku? Are you worried you might get asked out?” Uraraka teased.
Midoriya shielded his face. “No w-way! A-a-absolutely not!” He replied frantically. The thought did embarrass him, but there was no way someone from a class above him would specifically seek him out. Hell, he didn’t even think that someone in his own class would be smitten with him. It didn’t bother him. He just didn’t think anyone would spend their time dating because they were all so focused on their hero work.
“If it’s true then that student is clearly pathetic, having to shuffle through a bunch of other students” Bakugo spoke up, looking out the window with a disgusted look on his face.
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind dating someone from a class above us. Even if it was for just one week” Kaminari threw out.
“Well yeah but you don’t have any standards” Jiro said without missing a beat.
“Enough gossiping. It’s time for class” Cementoss scolded walking into their classroom. Everyone took their seats again, but Midoriya was having trouble concentrating. The thought that someone could be looking for him for a relationship really put his brain through a loop. Cementoss had to call his name to snap him out of it at least twice.
Midoriya figured he would take matters into his own hands to either confirm or refute this strange rumor. He waited until after school to try and talk to some second years on their way back to the dorms. As he was looking around for someone to ask questions, he felt a pair of eyes on him. He quickly turned around ready to confront whoever was watching. There was nobody there. He tensed up and tried to shake off this paranoid feeling.
He spotted a second year in the courtyard and tried to approach them when he thought he heard someone else call his name from behind. He turned around again, but no one was there. He wasn’t going crazy, was he? He started to sweat. The second-year student that he saw was gone. He missed his opportunity to ask about this weird rumor. Plus, he was being followed by someone. What if it was the person the rumor was about? What if they were here to ask him out? How do you reject someone politely? Midoriya was freaking out. His signature mumbles could be heard by other people passing in the courtyard.
Before he could really get any of his thoughts together, he felt someone tap on his shoulder and he nearly jumped out of his school uniform. He slowly turned around, accepting his fate. He looked and saw it was Uraraka. “You’re not the second year asking people out,” Midoriya said still surprised. Uraraka laughed at Midoriya’s reaction.
“I just thought it would be funny to mess with you” She admitted.
“You almost gave me a heart attack!” Midoriya replied. Uraraka laughed again.
“Sorry Deku” She apologized smiling sincerely.
Well, at least he didn’t have to worry about being confessed to at that moment in time. He wondered if they would ever find out about the rumor.
The next day, Midoriya was running a little late. He made it just in time.
“You were almost late! Try leaving a little earlier next time” Iida recommended.
The class was still talking excitedly about the rumor trying to guess who the rumor was about. It made Midoriya promptly put his head down on his desk. He would have to survive another day of maybe possibly being confessed to. He wasn’t sure if he could handle that kind of pressure today.
By lunchtime, class 1-A had calmed down enough to where the rumor left most everyone’s minds. Midoriya got to enjoy lunch with his friends without worry.
Midoriya and his friends made it back to class. Now the class was exploding with energy. What had happened? Bakugo looked like he was going to murder someone, which admittedly wasn’t different from most days. This was different though because his anger wasn’t really directed at anyone in the class.
“Oh god” Midoriya thought. Does this mean the rumor is true? If it is, can Midoriya take it easy because Bakugo had gotten the letter? Nobody could really put anything else together because Cementoss walked in again scolding the students.
Midoriya finally made it through the day without being contacted by any second-year student. He made his way to his locker to get his backpack when he spotted it. There was a letter. He swallowed hard, too scared to even open the letter.
“What’s wrong Midoriya?” Iida asked.
Then his friends spotted the letter. Todoroki, Iida, and Uraraka looked shocked. They all stood frozen in front of Midoriya’s locker. Bakugo was passing by and caught sight of the 4 students just standing there.
“What the hell are you losers doing?” He growled.
Midoriya managed to work up the courage to pull the letter out of his locker. He looked to the letter then to Bakugo who looked like he was going to explode on the spot. Midoriya yelped and ran out of the building as fast as he could.
Iida was calling for Midoriya to slow down but Midoriya didn’t really notice in his panic. He looked down at the letter in his hands. His hands were shaking, but he took a deep breath and opened the letter. It Read:
Dear Midoriya,
I have watched you ever since the sports festival. You are truly incredible, even though you break yourself sometimes. I’ve watched you for a while now and my heart sores every time I see you. The very mention of your name sends shivers down my spine. I think I love you! Please meet me in the courtyard tomorrow after school! If you don’t show up, I’ll just assume that you don’t feel the same way and I’ll cry. I hope to see you soon!
XoXo
There was no signature. No hint of really who it could’ve been. “What am I going to do” Midoriya hung his head in defeat. If he showed up the person would get the wrong idea. If he didn’t show up, the person would be heartbroken. He went over and over the dilemma in his head. How would a hero handle this situation?
The next day, after losing a lot of sleep, he decided he would show up but explain the situation and his feelings. They might cry, but at least they would get an answer and not wonder for the rest of their life. Midoriya was pretty shaken up for the rest of the day.
Before the last class of the day, 1-A was talking about the two letters given out to their class. They asked if they purposefully picked the two strongest boys in the class.
Midoriya felt a weight lift off of his shoulders. Then he realized that if this was a test he would’ve failed. “Wait was this like a test test….like one we could fail?” Midoriya asked pale as a sheet.
“Oh no. I think this was just to assess where we all are currently as far as problem-solving goes” Momo replied.
Midoriya sighed again. He did realize that he could’ve done a little more research on this so-called rumor. He had a long way to go to grab the titled of Number One Hero.

Sound Out
Chapter 8: Aria Di Sorbetto
Hado woke up to a text from Jiro. She was asking if Hado wanted to see a new movie that had come out recently.
Jiro: Yeah there’s this new comedy movie we’ve been wanting to see
Hado: We?
Jiro: Ochako, Asui, Midoriya, and Shoji
Hado: Who’s Shoji?
Jiro: You know pro hero tentacole?
Hado: THAT’S HIM?! HELL YEAH I’D LOVE TO MEET ANOTHER PRO HERO
Jiro: Alright lay off the caps please. I’ll meet you at the movie around 4pm
Hado put away her phone and decided to train a bit before she would have to get ready to leave. She managed to get some quirk training in as well as strength training. She took a shower to clean up a bit. She dug through her duffle bag looking for something cute to wear out to the movies. She unfortunately didn’t pack any of her cute casual clothes when she left home 3 weeks ago. She opened up her wallet and did some mental math. Because the cottage she had been living in was stocked, she hadn’t spent any money recently. She made the bold decision to go out and buy a new outfit to treat herself. She had been working so hard recently that she told herself she deserved it. The movie theater she would be meeting them at was in the shopping district anyway.
Hado arrived in the shopping district looking for a nice shop to get a new outfit from. She settled on a AC Quarter’s because the clothes were moderately priced and wouldn’t break the bank. She double checked the time to make sure she had enough time to try the clothes on and leave. She had about an hour and a half before the set meeting time with Jiro.
Browsing through the clothes she decided she would buy herself a dress. She didn’t have very many so, what the hell, why not? She sorted through a lot of different styles, almost always turning down something with a floral pattern on it. Hado had nothing against flowers, they were just too busy of a design on the cloth. “Too short…. too long….too formal….too….risqué” She thought sorting through all of the dresses. She stopped at a cute blue dress that was a little bit past knee-length. It had a cinched waist, a squared off neckline, and cute little buttons going down the middle. The best part of it was that it had thin wavy lines on it that reminded her of her hero costume. She found the dress in her size and went to check out. She looked down at her feet on the way to the counter and realized she was wearing the same sneakers she had worn for almost 5 years now. They looked very beaten up. “maybe I should get a new pair of shoes too…”
Hado refused to wear heals. They sucked to walk in and they sucked to sing in. She looked at the variety of flats they had instead. She really liked the way the Tod’s shoes looked. Tod brand shoes were normally a little too pricey for her but she had the money to spare and purchase a pair of black ones.
On her way up to the counter she spotted a cute black choker and grabbed it boldly. Yeah, sure, chokers hadn’t been in style in a while, but she liked them and thought it would look cute with her dress. The cashier rang her up and gave her her total. “Is it like date night or something?” The woman behind the counter asked. “Oh no. I’m going to a movie with some friends. I just want to look cute for me and me along” Hado confidently responded. “Wish I had that same boldness” The lady replied. “Oh but you could! I bet you would look great in purple! Find a nice purple blouse, throw on some casual jeans and maybe some heels and you’ve got it made!” Hado threw out. She wasn’t sure where this advice was coming from, but the lady at the counter seemed to take it to heart. She smiled at Hado and thanked her. Hado waved back to the cashier as she walked out of the store. Hey, being a hero didn’t always mean catching villains or rescuing people.
Hado changed in a nearby bathroom and put her old clothes in the shopping bag she was given. She made her way to the movie theater. She had managed to arrive 5 minutes early surprisingly. She sat down on a bench right outside waiting for her friends. “You’re here too?” She heard a familiar voice from behind. She turned around to see Bakugo in casual clothing. “Oh yeah um Jiro invited me out to this movie. I think it’s going to be real stupid so I’m looking forward to it” Hado said. “Yeah, whatever” Bakugo responded.
About 2 minutes later, the others began to arrive. Jiro walked up with Ochako, Tsu, Midoriya, and the person Hado assumed was Shoji. He looked even cooler in person! Behind them she saw Ashido, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero. Ashido casually greeted Jiro. “Oh what a coincidence! We’re all here at the same time! Are you guys going to see the same movie too?” She asked innocently. Jiro mentioned the movie they were seeing, and it matched up. The whole group of pro heroes entered the theater.
“Well this is fucking weird”  Hado thought to herself. She was very suspicious of Ashido who she had learned had a penchant for causing a stir. It wasn’t ever harmful trouble; it was just a little exhausting. The groups of pro heroes chatted with each other as they looked for seats in the theater. Before they could pick Bakugo marched his way up all the way to the top. He glared at everyone, almost daring them to sit near him. They were used to this by now so they followed him up, but instead of sitting on his row, they sat in the row in front of him. They managed to all get there before Hado had a chance to make it up the stairs. She looked and noticed that most of the seats were already taken. She sighed and made her way all the way up to the top and sat by Bakugo. Bakugo looked over at her, noticing her exhausted look.
“Hey if you don’t want to sit next to me, there’s plenty of other chairs here” he snarled.
Hado laughed in response which made a few of the pro heroes turn their heads, surprised. “Please I think I can handle sitting by you. Besides, who else am I going to annoy all move with my color commentary” Hado teased. Bakugo shot back a smirk. The few that had looked back were so shocked they didn’t realize they were staring. The only one who didn’t bother looking back was Midoriya.
“Hey mind your own business you damn extras” Bakugo snapped and they all immediately turned their head back to the screen and continued their conversations. Hado snickered in response. “Will that ever get old?” She asked aloud. “I hope not” Bakugo replied.
Everything was going according to plan. Midoriya relaxed in his chair, a feeling of relief filling his body. He hoped this wasn’t too obvious of a set-up, but he knew his best friend would never have taken the initiative to ask Hado out. Midoriya remembered worrying about his friend and how he would even manage to make this happen. Luckily, he knew some of the smoothest people in town. Calling Mina, Denki, and Eijirou was a great idea. They had all brainstormed some ways of making this happen, throwing out the ideas that Bakugo would never go for, which was most of them. They all agreed that they had to trick him into a date because he was too much of an idiot to really act on those feelings. Hell the only person he really fully opened up to was Midoriya and he still didn’t mention how he felt about Hado to him. Midoriya knew though. Midoriya at least knew what a crush felt like.
The lights went down, and the previews started. “Oh shit I forgot to buy the popcorn!” Kaminari said loudly and jumped out of his seat. “Get a big one for us to share” Mina shouted to him as he left the theater. He gave a nod of understanding before disappearing out of view. “Idiot” Bakugo said under his breath. He looked over at Hado suppressing a laugh. “He just wants to make the movie experience a little more fun. It just feels a little more complete with popcorn you know?” She explained. “If you wanted some goddamn popcorn all you had to do was ask” Bakugo shot back and stood up to leave his seat. Hado looked shocked at Bakugo as he stomped out of the theater. He was still surprising her even after all the time they had been spending together. A warm smile found its place onto her face.
“Ooooo how are the love birds doing?” Ashido teased, looking back at Hado. Hado was thankful the lights had gone out so Ashido couldn’t see how red her face got. “Shut up. It’s not like that. This is just how Bakugo is” Hado replied. “I can’t remember the last time Bakugo got me popcorn at a movie” Kirishima stated. “Oh, you mean that time that never happened?” Sero added. The pro heroes started giggling. A few other people who were in the theater turned around and shushed them. “Oh come on it’s just the previews, don’t be so uptight” Hado replied. One of the people who had turned around started glaring at her. “Ugh I promise you won’t hear them again okay?” Hado said in an attempt to make peace. The person turned back around with a huff. “Not sure how you’re going to do that. We happen to be a very noisy bunch” Ashido said loudly. Luckily Hado was expecting it and stopped the soundwaves from reaching the people in front of them. Midoriya was the one to laugh this time. “She’s a sound hero Ashido. And she’s very good at what she does. That’s probably why Bakugo has taken a liking to her” Midoriya said turning around to smile at Hado. Her face turned beet red again. “There’s no way he’s interested in me as more than just like…. a training partner, or like a pro hero to work with. Yeah I’m just basically a coworker to him” Hado rambled in her head, making sense of everything the others were implying. Kaminari came back with a big bucket of popcorn and took his place. “What’d I miss?” He whispered to Jiro. “Just us picking on Hado” She responded. “Aww man I miss out on all the fun” he said upset but pushed a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
Bakugo came back with a relatively normal sized bag of popcorn, stomping the whole way back up to his seat. “I better not have missed anything good loser” He said without taking his eyes off of the screen. “I thought you weren’t interested in a movie like this” Hado threw right back at him. “I’m not. I’m just here to tear down this shitty movie. I don’t want to miss a good chance to fucking annihilate whoever this dumb director is” Bakugo answered. Hado shrugged and faced the screen while every once in a while, grabbing some popcorn. “Thank you” she whispered to Bakugo as the movie started
Hado didn’t get to fully enjoy the movie because she was so busy trying to keep her friends’ soundwaves from reaching the other people in the theater. That was incredibly hard to do considering other soundwaves were bouncing around. She did manage to keep Bakugo’s voice and her voice away from everyone in the theater. They shredded that movie, taking cracks at all of the cheesy lines and terribly designed sets.
The credits began to roll and most everyone started to get up and leave. “Hey I’ve got some paperwork I forgot to finish up” Midoriya spoke up shooting out of his seat. “Let me know if we can do this again sometime” he said and shot out of the room before anyone could even blink. “Yeah I have some work still left for me at my agency. Ochako, would you mind helping out?” Tsu said as the two left the theater. Slowly each of the other heroes managed to find something they had to go do and left Hado and Bakugo alone in the theater. “Don’t tell me you have something else you have to do too” Hado sighed, sounding upset. “I already finished up all of my hero work unlike those losers” Bakugo replied. Hado smiled. “Hey what do you like to do for fun that doesn’t deal with hero work?” She asked curious. She had only ever seen Bakugo do hero work and everything that’s related to hero work.
“I’ll show you. Keep up nerd”
The two of them ended up at batting cages near the outskirts of the shopping district. They were nice batting cages too. Each booth was given a ton of room both to move and for the ball to fly through. “These batting cages were made specifically with quirks in mind” Bakugo explained slipping on a pair of gloves to help with the grip on the bat. “This is where I go on days when it’s raining and the training ground gets soaked” He continued. Hado looked at him very intensely, watching his every move. She watched him get ready for the machine to throw the pitches. He had set the frequency at which the machine shoots the ball higher than normal. Balls started flying out about every second and Bakugo was able to cool hit every single one of them. He wasn’t just strong, he was quick and strong, able to pull back fast enough again to put even more power in each new swing. How could someone make baseball look so goddamn cool.
“I know I’m awesome, but you can pick your jaw up off the floor you nerd” Bakugo’s voice brought her out of her thoughts. Hado shook her head. He started to put up the gloves and bat. “Are you done already?” Hado asked. He had only spent about 5 minutes hitting the baseballs back across the way. “No, I’m not done dumbass. A bat has its limitations” Bakugo replies. Hado put two and two together. “You’re going to use your quirk to propel it” Hado stated. Bakugo didn’t even reply. He just rolled his shoulders and focused. The balls came flying out at an even higher rate but each one was met by a very precisely placed explosion. It was incredible to watch. Not only did he hit every single ball, but he also sent them flying so fast and so far away.
Hado noticed sweat starting to glisten on Bakugo’s forehead. She couldn’t speak because she was so impressed by the display of prowess. These are skills she knew he had but it was different seeing those skills being used on something else. When they sparred, she never really had time to think about how much accuracy he had in his movements. She was always kept on her toes making sure she didn’t get hit. “If you don’t stop staring, I’ll start to think you have a crush on me” Bakugo said uncharacteristically. She turned away and blushed a light shade of pink. Something about it made her feel uneasy. “Is he making fun of me? I know I’m not up to his standards, but does he really have to tease me about that” Hado grappled with her inner monologue.
Bakugo must have notice something was wrong because he looked at Hado confused. “You look like you’re gonna’ vomit. You need to go home?” He asked. Hado didn’t like the feelings she was grappling with, but she also still wanted to spend more time with Bakugo. It was selfish of her, but when was the last time she got to enjoy herself so much? Hado shook off the awful feeling of nausea in her stomach. “No no I’m fine!” She told Bakugo. “Hey since you used your quirk on the ball, can I give it a try?” She changed the subject. “Yeah go ahead but you’re not going to break my record or anything” He teased.
Hado lowered the timing of how often the balls were thrown. She had to concentrate really hard. She had to figure out how strong to make the soundwaves to at least make the ball have backwards motion, then she had to figure out how powerful she could make the soundwaves to see how far and fast she could repel the balls. The first ball shot out. She calculated where it was headed and amplified a test soundwave. She made the ball stop in midair and drop to the ground. “Alright now I know the minimum output I need to send the ball backwards”. The next ball came flying out and this time her soundwave pushed the ball backwards, but it didn’t fly very far or very fast. The 3rd ball flew farther, faster. Each time the ball went a little bit farther and a little bit faster. By the last one, she had been shooting them back as far and as fast as Bakugo had with the bat. She felt slightly accomplished because Bakugo’s hits with the bat were still way over what a normal human could do.
“Not bad. You’ve still got some got some work to do but you’ve shown a lot of improvement over a short amount of time” Bakugo praised. It made Hado feel warm and happy. The compliment made her want to work even harder just to hear Bakugo say something nice about her again. Then she had a thought. There was something she could do that he most likely couldn’t.
“Hey if we’re done here, I have another place I’d like to go. You got to show off here so it’s my turn to show you what I can really do”
“Oh?” Bakugo said, raising one eyebrow. He had no idea where they were going to go, but he’d be lying to himself if he said he wasn’t a least a little bit excited to see what Hado meant.
The two of them ended up at a bar that did Karaoke every night of the week. He sighed heavily. Of course, it was singing. She’s a goddamn sound hero. Singing wasn’t quite his speed, but he would go along with it because…. well because it was Hado. She seemed so excited too. Seeing her smile made him feel like nothing else mattered in the world, as long as he could see that smile. They took a seat at the bar and Hado immediately asked for a shot of whiskey. “Eh? What are you doing dumbass?” Bakugo asked. “Taking one shot gives me just a little more courage to sing sincerely” She said giving him a wink. That was surprising. She normally isn’t this bold. Was she flirting with him? Bakugo was kind of confused. “Did you want anything? I’m paying” She offered. “I’m not much of a drinker” Bakugo replied and asked for a glass of water. She shrugged and walked off to check out the songs on the Karaoke machine. She seemed to find a song she liked and grabbed the microphone ready to sing on the stage.
Things were pretty slow in the bar so it almost felt like a little private performance for him. He threw that thought out into the garbage. He didn’t deserve things like that. He stared intently at Hado as she started to sing. She surprisingly picked an alternative rock song. Bakugo took her for more a pop girl.
“Please don’t mind what I’m trying to say ‘cause I,
I’m being honest when I tell you that you,
You’re part of the reasons I’m set on the rest of my life
Being a part of you
And tell me what you think about
Being open
About being honest with yourself
‘Cause things will never be the sa-aame”
Her voice rang out beautifully. Her eyes were lighting up. She was looking straight at Bakugo with those bright happy eyes. It was so…. Enchanting. Bakugo wondered if maybe she had two quirks considering she had told him that her mother sang like an angel. Hado looked like she was having so much fun even though there were maybe a total of 3 people watching her. It felt like she was only singing for Bakugo. He felt his face heat up ever so slightly, thinking about the words of the song. Surely, they didn’t mean anything. It might have just been one of her favorite songs.
She finished the song but asked the owner if she could keep going considering how slow business was. The owner smiled happily and encouraged her to keep going. He’s probably heard all types of voices, most of them being drunk and not well tuned. Bakugo bet that Hado’s voice was like a breath of fresh air for this guy. And he would have to agree.
She picked a slow song this time with a slightly country twang. Bakugo wasn’t the biggest fan of country but he would give it a try because…. Well, again it was Hado singing it.
“Dear God the only thing I ask of you is
To hold her when I'm not around
When I'm much too far away
We all need that person who can be true to you
But I left her when I found her
And now I wish I'd stayed
'Cause I'm lonely and I'm tired
I'm missing you again oh no
Once again”
The slight tinge of sadness struck a chord in Bakugo. She honestly looked like she was going to cry. He felt the emotions of the song through her voice and her expression. Then something even more amazing happened. Another voice layered on top of hers to create a harmony. She was using her quirk to create her own harmonies. Knowing what Bakugo knew about her quirk, that would take a lot of concentration and control to do something like that. She had already thrown back 3 shots so some of her concentration had to be off.
As Bakugo was stuck in his thoughts, people started to trickle in from outside. They seemed to hear Hado singing and were drawn in. Hado finished up her song and looked around nervously. The owner encouraged her to sing one more song because no one else had signed up yet. Bakugo figured they would probably want to throw back a few drinks before getting up there to sing. It was called liquid courage for a reason.
Hado picked one more song to sing for the now growing crowd. As she began her song Bakugo overheard the conversation between two guys near him. “Oh man her voice is awesome. And she’s pretty cute too. Think she’s taken?”. Something inside of Bakugo threatened to snap. The conversation made his blood boil. “Fucking jerks” he said under his breath. Hado finished up her song and was about to walk off the stage to give someone else a chance. The two men Bakugo heard earlier were talking again. “Oh, dude there she goes. I’m going to see if I can get her number” one guy said and gave his drink to his buddy.
Hado quickly made her way to Bakugo who was grinding his teeth to keep himself from physically hurting the man who spoke earlier. Before she could make it all the way back to her seat, the man who wanted her number tapped her on the shoulder. Bakugo felt like he was going to explode. “Hey, you have an incredible singing voice” The guy complimented her. “Oh thanks… I get it from my mom” She shyly replied. Bakugo could tell she was uncomfortable. He arms were folded in front of her and her eyes were focused on the floor. “Well your mom has one hell of a daughter. Would you mind if I-” the man stopped mid-sentence seeing Bakugo walk up behind Hado and put his arm around her waist. “Mind if you what” Bakugo growled. “Oh uh… um… nothing nevermind. Just wanted to say you were great… um have a good night” he said nervously as he quickly shuffled his way back over to his friend. Hado sighed, relieved. She looked up to Bakugo. She then looked down at his hand still around her waist. Bakugo noticed her staring at his hand and he suddenly let go feeling….self-concious?
“Hey, thank you for that. I have trouble politely telling people to fuck off. Not sure why” Hado admitted. Bakugo had a small thought form in the back of his mind. “What if she’s just hanging out with me because she doesn’t know how to tell me to fuck off?”.
“Hey earth to Bakugo. Let’s get out of here. There’s too many people” Hado said. Bakugo snapped back to reality and walked out of the bar with her, giving those men one last hard glare.
“Was there anything else you wanted to do tonight?” Hado asked sweetly. Bakugo just shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe it’s time for us to just head home” He suggested bitterly. He looked back at Hado and she looked so upset. A pang of guilt hit him right in the chest. Did she still really want to spend more time with someone like him?
“I…. I was really enjoying out time together. We’ve never hung out outside of hero work or training. I haven’t had this much fun with anyone else ever” She bravely admitted. Any doubt he had before quickly left his mind after her confession. “Well…. It’s still getting late. If you want…. I could let you crash at my place” he quietly offered. Hado’s face lit up. There was that smile again, and it felt like all was right with the world again.
The two made it back to Bakugo’s place. He unlocked the door and let her in. It’s a pretty normal looking place. He did have a wall where he hung up articles of him being praised as a pro hero. They sat down on the couch in the front room and talked for hours. They talked to each other about villain busts, and old high school stories. They talked about each other’s goals and dreams. They learned about their favorite colors and music and weather. Bakugo looked at the clock on the wall. “It’s getting pretty late. We should probably rest up. You can sleep in my bed and I’ll take the couch” Bakugo offered. Thinking about Hado sleeping in his bed made him embarrassed but he wasn’t sure why.
“Oh no I can sleep on the couch. I think I’d feel just a little weird sleeping in your bed. No offense to you! Your wonderful and I like being around you and stuff. I just think I’d be more comfortable on the couch” Hado admitted. A small part of Bakugo felt rejected, but he pushed that feeling aside and shrugged. He stood up and started to walk off to his bedroom. “Just let me know if you need anything” he said not looking back. “Oh, hey just one thing!” Hado called. He turned around and she planted a kiss directly on his cheek. His face got hot and his heart thumped hard in his chest. He wasn’t moving, just standing completely still in the middle of the room.
“Oh god did I break you? I’m sorry. Maybe I shouldn’t have-” Hado was cut off mid-sentence. Bakugo had quickly grabbed her to pull her close and put his lips on hers. His heart thumped even more loudly in his chest. Every ounce of passion he had been feeling was poured into that kiss. He broke the kiss first and looked at Hado’s blushing face. He smirked realizing that he had caused her to blush like this. She wasn’t moving. “Hey earth to sound girl” Bakugo mocked. She let out a small giggle.
“There’s more where that came from, so you better be careful” Bakugo managed to both tease and threaten. He walked back off to his bedroom. Hado couldn’t believe what just happened, but it was incredible, and she felt like she was on cloud nine. She tucked herself in for the night on the couch. She wondered about what tomorrow would hold.

Sound Out
Chapter 7:  Aria di Relazione Fiorente
As soon as Hado had recovered fully, she was discharged from the hospital and sent to Midoriya’s agency. Midoriya waited right outside the building to greet her. Midoriya then started to walk away from the agency.
“Am I not staying here?” Hado asked confused. “Well technically no. You’ll be staying next door” Midoriya explained.
He walked up to a small cottage looking building and unlocked the door for Hado. She walked in and was surprised by how quaint it was. The rooms weren’t too terribly big. However, it had things that Hado had personally never had in her living space: multiple rooms.  Hado’s apartment was basically a bedroom/front room and a bathroom. That’s all she really needed. Seeing a front room and a kitchen and a separate bedroom made her so excited.
“Please make yourself at home. This is my agency’s guest room for clientele that need to stay in the area. Most of the time we keep people who might be in danger here to give them some peace of mind” Midoriya continued. “There are security measures in place so that if someone were trying to break in, they would be immediately captured and the police will be contacted” Midoriya said with a smile. “If for some reason, the alarm system doesn’t work, my personal cellphone number is written down on a piece of paper next to your bed. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need something” Midoriya finished.
Hado bowed politely and thanked him. She almost felt tears well up in her eyes. She hadn’t been shown this much kindness in a very long time. Midoriya said his goodbyes and left to let Hado get situated. She excitedly checked out every room in the space. While it was pretty plain in terms of decoration, it had some nice furniture. The couch was big enough for her to sleep on if something happened to the bed. There was a TV on a stand right across from it. The kitchen had been stocked with food items that Hado could use to cook or snack on. There was a kettle for making tea, a fridge stocked with more food items and water, an oven, and a spice rack. Hado didn’t really get to cook meals that were too elaborate but she thought that with all of this, she should give it a try.
She continued examining the rooms and finally settled in the bedroom. She laid back onto the bed and stared at the ceiling for just a few moments. She thought back to the fight she nearly lost just a week ago. She remembered feeling weak and helpless. Her stomach sank. She also remembered the upset looks on the faces of her new pro hero friends. The face that looked the most upset though, and caused her to feel the most guilt, was Bakugo’s. He looked so……pained. Hado knew that most of that pained feeling was her fault. She couldn’t follow protocol. She didn’t call for help. She didn’t even hold off the villains like she thought she could. She never wanted to see Bakugo that upset ever again.
Hado sat back up and made a pact with herself. She was going to use the next few days to train her quirk, her mind, and her body. There wasn’t a ton of space, but she could do specific workouts that focus on certain muscles in the body. She wanted to also work on producing multiple sounds in multiple places. She would have to do even more ear training.
While Hado was in the middle of formulating this schedule, she heard a loud knock at the door. “Who the hell is knocking so loud” She complained to herself. She quickly walked her way to the door and looked out of the peephole. She recognized the blond spikey hair anywhere. She wiped herself off, though she wasn’t sure why, and opened the door. Bakugo stomped through the doorway before Hado could even invite him in.
“Well hello to you too” Hado said closing the door and following his movements. “I just came by to…. check in on you” Bakugo said grouchily. “You sound like checking on me is a big chore. If it’s that much of a problem, you could just text me” Hado said mostly in jest but was honestly upset by his tone. He seemed to realize this because he took a deep breath and turned around to look Hado directly in the eyes. There was a gleam of some kind of emotion Hado couldn’t quite grasp in his eyes. “It’s not a chore…” He quietly admitted and immediately broke eye contact with her. Hado felt relieved at Bakugo’s statement.
“Well if that’s the case, you can check on me whenever you’d like” Hado smirked, trying to get a rise out of him. “I don’t need your permission you idiot. We’ve been over this” he snarled out and plopped down on the couch. “Ah of course that’s right. But you do need my permission to sit on this nice couch that Midoriya so kindly supplied for me. Stand back up” She began to tease again.
“Oh shut up loser. I can sit wherever I want, whenever I want”
“Is that so? Would Midoriya agree with you about that?”
“Probably not. The nerd is way too polite to actually let loose and assert himself, even though he is one of the strongest people I’ve ever met” Bakugo casually throws out.
“Well then maybe it’s a ‘you’ problem then”
“Who said it was a problem? I’m not broken dumbass”
Hado laughed loudly at Bakugo’s response. “No of course you’re not broken. That’s me, right? I’m the broken one” She said gesturing the the sling her arm was in. “Don’t even joke about that Miss ‘Pro hero’” Bakugo somehow managed to warn and mock her in the same sentence. Hado grabbed a pillow off of the couch and threw it at Bakugo, only for him to catch it quickly without even glancing her way. “You’re going to have to do better than that” Bakugo replied still not looking her way. Hado then made the soundwaves in the pillow vibrate so furiously that it exploded into feathers in Bakugo’s hands. He looked over shocked and didn’t see another pillow had been launched at his head from the direction he wasn’t looking. The pillow slammed into his head and Bakugo’s movement stopped. Hado’s breath hitched in her throat as her smirk grew bigger and bigger.
“Not bad Sound Girl” Bakugo looked back up at her and smirked. Hado felt her face grow hot and looked away. “Why do I feel like this? Ugh this is gross” She thought to herself. “When you fully recover, you should train with me. I want to see you use your power to it’s full extent” Bakugo added. Hado nodded still looking away from him. “Oi look at me when I’m talking to you, dumbass” Bakugo demanded.
Before Hado could turn her head to look at him, another knock on the door happened. Hado quickly got up to answer it. Miodriya stepped in and Hado let out a sigh of relief. “What did you two do?!” Midoriya yelled. Hado looked over and realized that feathers had flown everywhere. “Oh…umm about that…” Hado was about to explain but was cut off by Bakugo. “I accidentally ripped one of the pillows open. These things are pretty flimsy. You should get them replaced” Bakugo lied. “Why would you tear up the pillows” Midoriya cried with a shocked look on his face. “Look nerd, what did you come here for” Bakugo interrupted Midoriya’s lamenting of the lost pillow. “I came here to fill you guys in on the next big step of our mission”.
The three sat a table in the area next to the kitchen after cleaning up the feathers. Midoriya explained the passageways below the city and how they needed an updated map of them before they did any kind of take-down mission. “I know that you’re just now healing up, but in 3 days would you be willing to go with one of the other pro heroes into the base? I think you and our pro hero we have lined up would work perfectly together” Midoriya said. “I mean one of the biggest pro heroes to ever grace this earth has asked me to do this. Can I really say no?” Hado jokes. “Well I just want to make sure that you feel comfortable enough to get back into the action”.
“I’ll be fine” Hado reassured him. “Now who’s this pro hero I’ll be working with?”
Midoriya left the cottage to go back to his agency and make sure things were still running smoothly. His agency had about 4 different sidekicks that would be sent out to protect more than just the one city, but other cities as well. He walked in to sit in his office. His office was covered with All Might posters and memorabilia.  Once a fanboy, always a fanboy. He sat in his seat at his desk. There were a few cases scattered here. There were also 2 framed pictures. One of him and All Might hugging out in front of Midoriya’s agency, and one of him and Bakugo after their first big mission that gave them their current popularity. On the wall behind his desk were more photos of him and his friends on their journeys to become pro heroes.
Midoriya sighed loudly looking at all the unorganized cases. He wondered if he could hire Catalog for a week from Bakugo’s agency. He highly doubted that Bakugo would let that happen considering Bakugo’s agency only worked if him, Catalog, and Renova were all working there. He then wondered if he would consider hiring Vocaller on as a sidekick. It would technically be a demotion from her current job, but it would pay better.
As if on cue, Bakugo walks into Midoriya’s office. “How’s Hado holding up?” Midoriya asks. “She’s fine” Bakugo replied. “Are you sure she’s going to be safe there?” Bakugo questioned. Midoriya looked his friend in the eyes and saw some faint hints of worry. “Don’t worry. I’ve made sure that the most recently available security technology was installed” Midoriya reassured him. It was kind of interesting for him to see Bakugo caring openly for another human being. Sure, he cared about other people and their shared friends, but never openly. Here he was showing Midoriya some vulnerability connected to another human being.
“Do you think that after this case is closed that you would invite Hado to work at your agency?” Midoriya asked knowing exactly what he was doing. “She deserves better than to just be some sidekick” Bakugo replied. “She deserves better than to be my sidekick” he mumbled. Midoriya realized Bakugo was still beating himself up over the villain attack 2 weeks ago. It was still hard for him to find an outlet for his emotions.
“Well I at least think you should work closely with her after this. I think you two work well together” Midoriya kept pushing. Bakugo shrugged. “She loves her city too much so there’s no way we’d be able to work together under any other circumstances” Bakugo slumped himself down in one of the chairs in the room. “I think you two would be able to work something out. Want to spar for a bit while we have time?”
Bakugo perked up. “Hell yeah let’s go nerd”
For the next 3 days, Bakugo stopped by in the evenings to help Hado train and work on her quirk. Even with one arm in a sling, she could keep pace with Bakugo. He had to admit that he was pretty impressed with her progress. What she really needed was different ways to think about the world around her. She was so set in one way of thinking from working the same small jobs over and over again that she had made a habit of using her quirk in only very specific ways. Bakugo forced her to think differently, coming at her from so many different angles with so many different techniques. He didn’t try to hold back.
Hado winced in the middle of one of their training sessions, grabbing at her arm that was in the sling. “Giving up already” Bakugo teased from across the training grounds. “No! Rude! I just…. It’s just a small bit of pain. I can keep going” Hado answered. Bakugo made his way over with a towel for her to dry off with. “Let’s take a 5 minute break. Then I’ll destroy you for sure” Bakugo gloated. “Oh sure whatever. Doesn’t take much to take down a helpless girl with one arm” Hado shot back. “I wouldn’t call her helpless” Bakugo replied.
The two sat down on a bench sat off to the side of the training grounds. Hado wiped her forehead sighing. “I really appreciate you helping me out with my quirk and stuff” Hado spoke up. Bakugo shrugged. “I went to UA too, you know. I got the same kind of education you got, minus all of the villain attacks” Hado said. Bakugo grunted in response. Those villain attacks did help his class specifically grow much stronger much faster than any other class. “I just…. I just wish I was as strong as you. I think…. I think after my parents died…. I kind of lost the will to fight” Hado admitted, her face softening.
“That’s not something you can blame yourself for” Bakugo replied gently. “I don’t know. I mean I wanted to work in a small town because of what happened to my parents, but I think I got too complacent” Hado continued. Bakugo was curious what happened but didn’t exactly want to press her on a subject that could be painful. Hado seemed to notice Bakugo’s dilemma because she started to explain exactly what happened:
“So, about 10 years ago when I was 15 years old and starting my 2nd year of high school, this villain that nobody had ever heard of before started rampaging in the city. My town didn’t really have huge incidents happen, so we got by with just a normal police force. This guy though…. He was really tearing the city up with no remorse for his own actions. He was too fast for the police to catch and the nearest hero was about a 2 hour flight away. He managed to make his way to my side of town pretty quickly and busted into my family’s apartment. My parents didn’t have strong quirks like me. My mom had the voice of an angel, but she couldn’t really use that in a fight. My dad could amplify or dampen sound waves sort of like me except I can also control the frequency and other things. Well we all woke up to the sound of this crash. I immediately tried to put what I had learned at UA into action. I tried my best to produce the strongest soundwave I could to send him back outside the apartment, but I was just too tired from training.  I remember him laughing saying something like ‘what a nice quirk, mind if I borrow it?’ or something. He reached for me and I kind of went blank. I woke up to the sound of police sirens and my mom and dad unresponsive on the floor. I tried to check on them but was kept away by the police. According to them a huge soundwave went off in my apartment, knocking both my mom and dad out. That man had somehow used my quirk and I can’t even remember how. My parents were both rushed to the hospital but the damage from intensity of the sound had ruptured some vital organs in their bodies. They were pronounced dead that same evening” Hado finished explaining. “If only…. if only there had been at least one pro hero…. If only I had been strong enough” Hado continued with her head down and her fists clenched. Tears started to roll down her face.
That’s when Bakugo’s body moved on its own. Before he could even register what he was doing, his arms were wrapped around Hado pulling her into his lap. “What the fuck” Bakugo’s brain was finally catching up with his body. He recalled Midoriya once saying something along the lines of “Most heroes have stories of their bodies moving before their brain could react”. Usually that only applied to saving people. He wondered if this was the same situation.
Bakugo felt hot tears fall onto his arms. He continued to hold Hado in hope that it would bring her some comfort. He knew how painful it was to feel like he wasn’t strong enough or fast enough. Some very small part of him still blames himself for All Might’s retirement. “I’m sorry Bakugo. I must sound like a godamn babbling baby. We should get back to training” Hado spoke In a cracked voice. “Yeah you do sound like a dumb baby but…. Maybe it’s okay to cry like that sometimes……” Bakugo responded. Hado wiped her face with her towel and got up off the bench. “Well I’m all cried out now so why don’t we get back to training” she said turning around and offering Bakugo her hand.
Bakugo slapped it away, stood up and said, “Alright cry baby let’s go”.
Hado looked around the small comms room Midoriya had in his agency. Midoriya, Bakugo, the detective working the case, were all there. There was also…. a floating pair of gloves? “Hado this is Hagakure Toru, or better known as Invisible Girl” Midoriya introduced. Hado reached her hand out and felt the glove take hold. “It’s like so nice to meet you finally! The others have told me so much about you!” Hagakure gushed. There was no facial expression to read so Hado would have to go off of tone alone, although Hagakure seemed like a pretty straightforward woman.
“You two will be mapping out the underground hideout, taking not of any unusual rooms or people. Invisible Girl will use her quirk to make you invisible as well Vocaller, and Vocaller will use her quirk to make both of you silent” The detective explained. “We are an infiltration dream team!” Hagakure said excitedly. Hado nodded in agreement. They continued to go over different scenarios if anything went wrong. They tried to talk about if the 2 women got caught but Bakugo just interrupted with “Not gonna happen”, having small explosions erupt from his hands. Each hero was given an earpiece and a small camera to hide on their person. They weren’t sure how far the connection would stretch so the 3 staying behind would be in a van near the secret entrance Hado had discovered a while ago.
They arrived at the scene and double checked the outline of the plan. Hagakure and Hado were also given a small tablet to help with mapping everything out if for some reason the comms did go out. Hado looked at what she believed to be Hakure’s face with determination. The two shared a high five and were on their way.
Hado used her quirk exactly the same way she had done before to unlock the mechanisms for the door. The long dark tunnel leading downward was revealed. “Spooky” Hagakure said out loud. “Eh I’ve seen worse” Hado shrugged.
The two began their decent with Hado deafening every step they took. After a bit of climbing they finally reached a floor on which they could walk.  Hagukure made sure the light was refracted in just the right way to keep Hado hidden. The two walked silently down a hallway looking for suspicious rooms or even suspicious people. They couldn’t separate from each other to make things go faster because both of their quirks were covering for the other person. The process was going to take a while.
Each hallway they entered looked almost identical to the last. They made sure each twist and turn were mapped out on the tablet so that they could make sure they weren’t walking in circles. It seemed like they had been walking for hours when they heard the detective speak into their earpieces. Hado made sure that the sound waves never went any further than the front of their faces.
“Hey, are you two okay? The cameras seem to have cut out” he asked. “Yes everything is okay on our end don’t worry” Hado responded, again keeping the soundwaves from moving any further than their faces.
Soon enough, Hado hears some faint voices down one of the approaching hallways. She whispers into her earpiece. “Hey, I’m going to keep the comms on so you guys can also listen in. Please stay as quiet as possible. I’ll try to keep your sound out of their range”.
“Yeah that stupid sound hero got beat up pretty badly I heard. It’s a shame those other pro heroes got in the way. I think boss would’ve been happier if she was dead. If he sends me out next time, I know I’ll finish the job” The voice spoke from around the corner.
Hado gasped, losing concentration for a moment and immediately stopped the soundwaves again. “Shit”. “Did you hear that?” The man who was speaking earlier asked. He walked around the corner but didn’t see or hear anything. He shrugged and walked back around to his spot. Hado and Hagakure let a small sigh of relief that Hado made sure she had controlled.
A voice belonging to the person the man was speaking to started to talk. “But Rowdy really did put Ground Zero through the ringer then. He seemed to handle that 2nd quirk pretty well after only having it for 2 days. This quirk transference stuff is working out so much better than those dumb nomus the league of villains made forever ago”
Midoriya felt a chill go down his spine at the mention of a notorious villain group himself and Bakugo had bested years ago. He shareed a knowing glance with Bakugo who’s face was contorted in the angriest glare he could make. The comms started to break up in the middle of the two men’s conversation. “We’re lucky….. had……get blood…..All…One”. The hair on Midoriya’s arms stood straight up. Is it possible….. that All for One is involved here? How?
The girls also feel a chill run down their spines at the mention of All For One. “Do you feel like…. like someone’s watching us?” The first man interrupted. “Come on out you cowards!” He yelled around the corner. Before he could fully make his way around, Hado quickly manipulated the soundwaves as far down the hallway as she could and managed to amplify them enough so that the two men could hear. “Hey! Boss needs you two right now! Stop slacking and get back to work!” she mimicked the sound of the villain that had grown the spider legs.
The man that yelled out before turned on his heels to look at his partner and replied, “Yes sir!” and were running down the hallway away from the two pro heroes. Hado and Hagakure book it for the secret entrance they had come in through. They get all the way back up and out into the light. “Oh thank god! That was so scary! I’m so glad you are such a quick thinker!” Hagakure praised Hado. “Hey my quirk would’ve meant nothing if you hadn’t been there to keep us from being seen” Hado shot back. The two girls high fived again.
“You guys may want to see this” The detective calls from the van. They all end up back at Midoriya’s agency, looking at all the data they collected. The tunnels that had been mapped seemed to never end but they were on a constant path moving in a westward direction. Hado looked closer at the underground map compared with what was above it on land. “If these tunnels keep going like we think they do” The detective started. “They’ll go right underneath my city” Hado said quietly, clenching her fists. “You have to send me back to my town. I have to go back!” Her voice started to build in volume. Items in the room started to shake with the vibrations she was putting out. Midoriya tried to calm her down saying that they needed more information.
Bakugo grabbed her by the shoulders. “Look. Tsukuyomi and Ingenium are out there right now. I make them give me a report every damn day. Nothing has happened in your city. I promise” He said looking her directly in the eyes. Hado takes a deep breath. “That still means there could be an entrance in my town. You need to send me back” She pushed again.
“No” Bakugo abruptly replied.
Hado looked likes she was going to both cry and punch Bakugo in the face. “You’re not going by yourself. I’m going with you” He finished his thought. Hado’s face went from shocked to confused to thankful. “Thank you Bakugo”. The tears had managed to escape her eyes as she pulled Bakugo in for a tight hug. Bakugo was also shocked and had his hands in the air. He slowly put his hands down and wrapped them around Hado in return.
“Aww this is like so cute!” Hagakure squealed. The two of them broke their hug to look around for the Invisible girl. “Shut up you invisible piece of shit, I’ll kill you” Bakugo threated but couldn’t seem to find her. Hagakure giggled and left the room. “It was so nice to work with you Hado!” She called on her way out.
Midoriya is still trying to process the idea of All for One being involved but he has to push that thought away to focus on the task at hand. Bakugo wanted to go with Vocaller back to her town. Who knows how All for One is involved and where he would be if he was still alive? One thing is for sure: He was not letting his best friend go out there without him.

Chapter 6: Aria Di Baule
__________________________________________________________
“Are you sure about this? You think we can trust her?” Bakugo cautiously asked Midoriya. “I’ve seen her in action. I’ve gotten to know her a little bit. She honestly kind of reminds me of myself when I was younger, even though she’s older than us” Midoriya reassured Bakugo. “Gross” Bakugo grunted. Midoriya rolled his eyes at his friend’s jest. “I know she said she wanted to be back home after 3 days but with what you two discovered today, I think we’re going to need her help for a little longer” Midoriya continued. He asked Bakugo to call the pro hero and let her know about the change in plans.
“Goddamnit it’s Ground Zero you dumbass. I’ve made arrangements for you to stay in town a few more days. You’ll be picked up tomorrow morning and brought to my agency”.
Midoriya watched Bakugo immediately hang up with a scowl on his face. He would have laughed if his friend didn’t look so angry. “Don’t you think that was a little harsh or abrupt?” Midoriya asked. “She understood. And even if she didn’t, she’s going to be picked up and taken here anyway” Bakugo replied. Midoriya shrugged.
The two discussed how to go about their meeting and the living arrangements for Hado. Everything was all planned out. Now all they needed was Hado to arrive tomorrow morning.
Bakugo watched as the pro hero walked in looking like a bit of an airhead. She was staring at the articles on the walls. She looked surprised like she had no idea who the article was about. It pissed him off a small bit. He bit his tongue to keep him from saying something too harsh. “Hey dumbass. Let’s go” he barked out.
He looked over his shoulder as he walked up the stairs of his agency. She sort of stumbled up the steps looking confused, concerned, and…was that a hint of annoyance? What did she have to be annoyed about?
They got up to Bakugo’s office. He went to have a seat at his desk. Everything had been organized for the day thanks to one of his 2 sidekicks. His sidekick would have had to do a damn good job because Bakugo wouldn’t have any less than that.
“So what is my town supposed to do without me for the next...however long you decided to keep me in town?” He heard Vocaller speak up. “Oh right. She wants to go back to her shitty town to make sure it’s protected…” Bakugo remembered Midoriya mentioning the terms of the deal they made.
“Quit your whining. Tsukuyami and Ingenium are out there in your shitty city keeping it safe” Bakugo spit out. He meant it to reassure her, but he was also just really annoyed by her blame. Midoriya walked out and jumped into the conversation. He mentioned that keeping her here was his own idea. Midoriya was always better at communicating with others than Bakugo which was just fine with him considering they worked together so often.
They walked into the conference room across the hall from Bakugo’s office to talk about all of the new information that was gathered. “Before we get started, I don’t think I’ve ever asked you your name…” Midoriya admitted clearly embarrassed. “Hado right?” Bakugo spoke. She looked over at him with more surprise. He wished he could smack the look off of her face. He closed his eyes instead waiting for an answer.
“Oh yeah….um yeah My name is Hado Hibiki…. I guess you heard Jiro say it yesterday? That’s a pretty impressive catch” Hado praised. Bakugo’s eyebrows twitched. He didn’t need her praise. He crossed his arms to keep from damaging anything in the conference room.
“Ah and you probably don’t know our names either. I’m Midoriya Izuku and this is-" He was cut off mid-sentence by Hado. “Bakugo right?”. His eyes flashed open to glare at her. That damn mobile phone charger had said his name out loud yesterday didn’t he. “Yeah. Heard it yesterday from Sparky right?” Bakugo replied. Hado nodded. A small smirked appeared on her face and Bakugo’s blood started to boil.
“Okay…now that we’re all familiar with each other, let’s talk about that discovery you two made yesterday” Midoriya moved the conversation forward. They began to talk about the hidden door connected to a bakery. Bakugo and Midoriya had spoken to the owner that morning and it seemed like they didn’t know anything about a hidden room. There also wasn’t a false room in the store’s blueprints. Upon further research, they dug up the map of the city’s underground sewer system, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. This map however was about 20 years old so there is a chance that the underground passageways could have been altered in the past 10 years or so.
They asked about the panels Hado found and how she managed to get them to unlock. “So, there’s a mechanism inside the panels that activate when pressed and are connected to each other. I’m guessing they won’t unlock unless pressed in a certain order because of how the mechanism tries to unlock each one. Instead of trying combinations I just amplified the soundwaves in each panel to activate the mechanisms all at once, causing them all to unlock and open the door” Hado explained. “That’s pretty resourceful” Midoriya commented.
“It would’ve been more resourceful if she had backup with her. Instead she called my agency panicked because she hadn’t planned that far ahead” Bakugo sneered. Hado laughed nervously and rubbed the back of my head. “Yeah sorry about that…” She apologized. She looked like she was just playing it off. She honestly looked like something was bothering her, but she wouldn’t say anything about it.
“Whatever” Bakugo replied, looking away from her.
The three of them went through some strategies, preparing for either the villains to come back out again, or to infiltrate their hideout. They were hoping they could implement the infiltration mission first, but they wouldn’t be able to have their team for that together for another 2 weeks. They would just have to wait and hope for the best.
“So where am I going to be staying for the next 2 and a half weeks?” Hado asked. Bakugo stood up quickly and turned toward the doorway. Hado looked after him confused. “Are you coming or what dumbass?” Bakugo called back to her. Hado realized what was happening and rushed to follow him. She thanked Midoriya on her way out as he waved to her.
She followed Bakugo a little way down the hallway from the conference room. He opened up a door on the left side and kept it open for Hado to go through. This was his very own bedroom away from home. There were plenty of nights where he would stay late at the agency and going home would just take too much time. To be more efficient, he had a room built specifically for him to sleep in when he works those late nights. It was painted all black but only had the bare minimum of a bedroom. There was a cot against the corner of the room and a small table with a chair near the door. There was also a counter with a coffee maker. There was a door on the right side of the room that lead to a shower for cleaning up. Bakugo didn’t need a whole lot to get going for the next day.
Hado walked in and inspected the room. Was she looking for reasons to insult the room? “This room kind of reminds me of my room back home” Hado said with a warm smile. “What do you mean?” Bakugo growled. “Oh well….I mean…I’m a pro hero but I don’t make a whole lot of money so I just have the essentials in my small apartment” She explained with a little bit of nervousness in her voice.
Bakugo realized that not every hero would be able to afford a nice agency building but having a home the size of this room wasn’t even an option in his mind for a hero. He felt a small pang of guilt in his chest.
“Well…..I guess make yourself at home” Bakugo managed to get out in a less aggressive tone. He shut the door and let her have some privacy and walked back to his office. He sat down in his chair trying to go through how things would be run now that she was around the agency. He opened up one of his drawers and took out a few files from previous days. There was a case about a robbery that was stopped in town. He just needed to sign off on the actual capture of the perpetrator. There was an open case of some small time breaking and entering houses in the suburban part of the city. They might be able to get some work done on that case.
There was a gentle knock at his office door. “Come in” Bakugo said loudly enough for the person on the other side to hear. A well-kept man in glasses, a neat button down shirt, and khakis entered the office. It was Ground Zero’s sidekick, Catalog. His quirk: Organize. He could organize anything or anyone by any merit in his mind and they would instantaneously be put in that order. He must have 4 or more people/objects for it to work. It is incredibly useful for apprehending villains as well as organizing offices.
“Good morning Ground Zero” Catalog greeted quietly. He walked in with a black cup of coffee and set it on Bakugo’s desk. “Any new cases today?” Bakugo asked. “Ah yes there seems to have been a hit and run not too far from here. Renova is already out there trying to resolve it” Catalog answered. Bakugo took a quick sip of his coffee looking over other cases. “We have another pro hero joining our agency for the time being” Bakugo mentioned. “Oh? I didn’t think you’d hire more people sir” Catalog said surprised. “I haven’t hired her dumbass. She’s staying here for now while she helps us work on the big case” Bakugo explained. “Oh okay. Um…. would you like me to check on her?” Catalog asked a bit nervous and confused. “No, I’ll take care of her. You take care of any incoming cases and send the big ones my way” Bakugo ordered. Catalog nodded and left the room.
Bakugo spent a little more time looking over the files before deciding to check on Hado. He got up from his desk and stretched, preparing himself to go out on a few jobs after he checked up on his guest. He knocked on the door of the makeshift bedroom “Hey! I’m about to go out on a job. Are you good?” He yelled through the door. He heard a loud crash come from the other side of the door. He busted his way into the room and looked around. The room was still incredibly neat and Hado’s bag was set down next to the cot. “What the fuck?” Bakugo thought.
A loud laugh erupted from the doorway leading to the shower. Hado was poking her head out laughing at Bakugo’s expression of confusion. His anger started to rise. “What the fuck was that?!” Bakugo yelled. “I’m sorry…I just-“ Hado wheezed. “I just thought it would be funny and boy was I right” She fully explained gasping for air. “Oh you think you’re funny?” Bakugo snarled. He started to march his way over to Hado, but she quickly shut the door and locked it. “Come out of there you coward!” Bakugo shouted pulling at the doorknob. He could hear Hado laughing through the door.
The door flung open after about 20 seconds of pulling on it. If Bakugo’s reflexes were any slower, he would’ve thrown himself across the room from how fast he threw the door open. “I’m sorry” Hado apologized smiling. “You just seemed so upset earlier and so I thought you needed a laugh” She admitted shyly.
He was starting to understand that she could tell what other people were feeling and thinking. In her own way she was trying to help. “Only a dumbass would laugh at a joke like that. I’ll show you what makes me laugh” Bakugo said almost threateningly.
The two ended up on patrol, making sure the streets were under control. “So do your sidekicks take care of most of the work you guys get?” Hado asked genuinely curious. Bakugo thought the question she asked was a bit rude, but the tone of her voice seemed curious. He remembered that she doesn’t really have an agency of her own in her city. “They end up taking the smaller jobs that I refuse to waste my energy on. In a big city, many of the jobs that come through are smaller ones, but on the other side of that, you also tend to get real big cases as well” Bakugo explained. The curiosity on her face made him think of a freckled face green haired nerd that he knew of. “Is this what he meant by he sees bits of himself in her?” He thought to himself.
“Okay well what does a big case constitute” Hado asked. “Think city-wide destruction, hostage situations…you know…big stuff” Bakugo responded. Hado nodded in understanding. “I don’t see too many ‘Big’ cases back home” She admitted.
“Oh look it’s Ground Zero! Did he get a new sidekick?!” a person on the street yelled. A large group of people started to gather and chatter about the two. “No way. Ground Zero doesn’t just hire sidekicks randomly. Maybe it’s his girlfriend” one person threw out. He looked over and saw Hado’s face get red. Now this was funny. Seeing someone humiliated in public was comedy gold for him. “Maybe she’s his mom?” Someone else threw out. Hado’s face went from red with embarrassment to red with anger. “Nah she looks too young to be his mom” another person responded.
He thought the response would calm her down but when he looked over at her she still looked pretty pissed off. Then suddenly he couldn’t hear the crowd at all anymore. “Motherfuckers. Thinking it’s okay to just say whatever the fuck they want about whatever hero walks the street”. The voice surprised him. Hado was…complaining?
“What’d you do? Why can’t I hear them, but I can hear you? I mean it’s nice to not have those extras constantly in my ear but…how?” Bakugo asked with a smirk on his face. He enjoyed seeing her angry. It was entertaining to say the least. “I just fucking stopped their soundwaves from reaching our ears. I thought all this idiotic rambling would be annoying to you too so I made sure you wouldn’t be able to hear it either” Hado explained with a disgusted look on her face.
Bakugo let out a roaring laugh. “Now this is my kind of humor” Bakugo nearly yelled.  “I can insult any of these extras without fear of my pro hero rank going down” He said with a big smirk on his face. Hado looked over with a lifted eyebrow. “I mean…I guess you can. It’s a nice way to get out some frustrations safely” She said smirking now too.
The two of them spent the next 2 minutes yelling at the people gathering in the street. They laughed at each other’s insults for a bit before deciding to get back to patrolling. The crowd was incredibly confused as to why they couldn’t hear either of the heroes and their question of who the woman was still went unanswered.
The two continued their patrol through the city. Bakugo relaxed a little bit, feeling a bit more comfortable around Hado. Nothing too major happened that day but really anything could still happen at any time.
A few days passed and Bakugo was finally starting to get used to Hado and her little habbits. She definitely wasn’t as nice as he thought she was at the beginning. She also knew how to do her job well enough that Bakugo didn’t have to go running to save her. That was a big plus for him. He was worried he was just going to be on baby sitting duty. Having her around all the time was annoying at first, but as she opened up and started to show what she could do, it became a lot more bearable for Bakugo.
The two almost became inseparable as they continued with their hero duties. Since Bakugo never addressed who she was, rumors began circulating around the town. The most widely accepted rumor was that she was just another sidekick. Bakugo didn’t ever have a flashy introduction for his first two sidekicks, so it would make sense that they didn’t know exactly who this new hero was.
The rumors continued to spread of this new sound hero and the rumors went deeper and deeper down….
“Hey! Heads up there seems to be something popping off near the shopping district!” Renova yelled to Hado and Bakugo. “I’ve got this. You go take care of the ‘Big’ cases” Hado teased and amplified the soundwaves to push herself in the direction of the yelling.
She landed near where a building had a chunk taken out of it. She placed herself on top of a nearby building, surveying how much damage there was and by how many people it was caused by. She quickly scanned the rubble to see 4 different people emerge from the dust. There was a large buff man, a sleeker sketchier looking individual, a short woman with a cigarette in her mouth, and a muzzled man. They walked so nonchalantly out of the wreckage and began to look at the crowds of people running and screaming.
Hado amplified the soundwaves behind the crowds to project them forward just a little faster to keep the out of harm’s way of any of these villains. She silenced her steps and approached them from behind. She tried to listen intently to them as they spoke.
“Oh man I can’t wait to use this new quirk” the sleezier man spoke. “Yeah yeah just hurry up and test it already. I’m waiting to get my quirk next you know” The short lady spoke, taking a drag between sentences. Hado approached slowly, ready with a capture device that would wrap itself around the target and fully restrain them. She tried to throw her first capture item at the sleezy looking man but was grabbed by one of the others. The man with the muzzle had her arm twisted behind her back. “I GOT A HERO I GOT A HERO” the man said underneath the muzzle. She silenced his soundwaves quickly before they could reach the others. She flicked the capture item at the man and he quickly released her arm and fell hard onto the ground. His arms were fully restrained, and his legs were tied together.
The sleezy man was already in the air ready to wreak havoc, but Hado knew she couldn’t be too hasty. She had to take the others out first. “Where did Muzzle go?” The big buff man asked looking around. He turned and spotted Hado.
“Shit”
Hado pushed herself out of the way of a giant fist that swung her way. The shorter lady then spewed embers from her mouth while Hado was mid-air. Hado put as much amplitude into the waves in front of her to slow the embers down and send them flying back the direction they were thrown from. One had managed to find itself in the short woman’s hair. “AHHH! I just had my hair done!” She patted the ember out and took one last drag of her cigarette.
Hado knew she had to get to the man currently on a rampage in the middle of the city. She tried to throw a capture item at the large man first, but he caught it in his hand and crushed it into dust. “That must be his quirk. I don’t think he’s so strong he can crush matter that small…I think he can turn matter into dust without the power from his muscles” She thought still flying through the air. She couldn’t look back though. If she was fast enough, she would be able to stop the other man and then deal with the rest.
She flung herself near where the man had grown giant spider legs all protruding from his back. She was visibly disgusted, but she could handle this. He was in an area with plenty of buildings which would make it harder to take care of. Hado concentrated and created an extremely powerful soundwave that only traveled a very short distance. The end product sliced through one of the spider legs causing the man to scream out in pain. She propelled herself to the next leg and did the same thing again. More pained screams came from above.
Before she could make her way to the next leg, she felt the air begin to heat up. A lot more embers than before were flying through the air directly at her. She dodged to the left only to run into the buff man from before. He grabbed her by the arm. “I can’t let him squeeze me or else I can kiss this arm goodbye”
Hado amplified more soundwaves to push herself directly upwards. She felt a sharp pain in her shoulder and arm. The big guy was still holding on though he was confused for the moment and didn’t try to use his quirk on her. She used this moment of confusion to kick him straight in the nose. He let go and immediately put his hands on his nose.
Hado continued to fly up and was thrown straight into the man with the spider legs. Hado and the man were winded by each other and began to fall to the ground. Hado opened her eyes and tried to cushion her fall with more soundwaves. She was barely able to make them in time. She still hit the ground hard. A warmth began radiating in her side. She coughed up a bit of blood. She had enough adrenaline coursing through her that she didn’t feel the pain of her newly acquired broken rib. She stood up shakily but found herself surround by the ember woman, the large man, and the man who had grown spider legs. She was trying not to panic, trying to think of a way to take them out.
Desperate for time she concentrated and made Deku’s voice boom behind them. It was enough to make the villains shake. “Wait!” The sleezy man yelled. “This is the one that can throw her voice. That’s probably just a distraction. That hero’s no where near here right now” He pointed out. Hado cursed under her breath. Breathing was starting to get harder for her so producing anymore voices was out of the question anyway. She tried weakly to push the sleezy lanky man away only for him to be grabbed by the bigger man. “Your sound waves are getting weaker” The big man pointed out.
They started to close in on her. Walking backwards she tripped and fell. The big man stepped hard onto her right leg breaking it in an instant. She screamed out in pain. She tried again to push them away with a strong soundwave. They were barely pushed back a foot. Hado felt tears string her eyes. “Please…. not like this…..I have a town to protect” Hado almost faded out of consciousness.
Before everything got too blurry, she heard a loud yell quickly getting closer and closer. Bakugo? She tried to keep her eyes open. She thought she saw the big guy get flung incredibly far by a very specifically placed and powerful explosion. Bakugo had centered all of his energy into one spot for an extremely strong and extremely painful hit. “More heroes” the woman hissed.
Hado saw the woman try to approach her and set her on fire with an ember but she was suddenly in the air, being carried by someone. She looked up and saw Deku’s face contorted into fear and worry. Hado couldn’t hold on any longer and closed her eyes.
Midoriya held Hado close and propped up enough to where her broken leg and broken ribs wouldn’t be damaged any more. He made his way to where he had organized a rescue area. A pro hero healer was on sight ready to take Hado and treat her. Midoriya set her down gingerly and leapt his way back into the direction of the large explosions.
Midoriya felt a pit in his stomach. The fear and worry he was feeling earlier wasn’t for Bakugo, it was for the villains Bakugo was fighting.
The only other time he had seen Bakugo this furious was when Midoriya’s own life was on the line. It was terrifying back then, and it was still terrifying now. Bakugo had grown up and become incredibly good friends with Midoriya and on several occasion Midoriya owed Bakago his life. He watched as Bakugo grew not only as a hero but also as a person. He got better at controlling his anger and redirecting that energy into his fighting. If he managed to lose control of that anger, then lots of other people would be in danger.
Midoriya rushed to the scene where Bakugo was fighting the villains. The bigger man who got shot across town was out cold. The woman who was producing the embers was also out cold on top of him. The last member of their group was in the air fighting with Bakugo. Midoriya figure that his quirk was the spider legs he had grown but now the man was moving differently. He had such precision and speed that he didn’t have 10 minutes ago. Something was definitely wrong.
Bakugo was having trouble keeping up with him and the smirk on his face was only making things worse. Strings of explosions went off in the air, but the man was untouched. Bakugo did manage to grab the man by the collar, but the man did not look worried at all. Midoriya saw him mouth something to Bakagou before Bakugo pulled is other hand in front of the villain’s face. Light started to form in his palm. He was charging up a massive explosion!
Midoriya quickly shot forward and grabbed Bakugo with one and the villain with the other. He directed Bakugo’s hand upward as an incredible explosion lit up the sky. People in the next town over could probably see it. The villain laughed maniacally and suddenly was switched out for a civilian woman. Midoriya looked over in disbelief. He looked back at Bakugo who looked like he was having a complete meltdown.
Midoriya landed on the street with both of them in hand. “I apologize for that ma’am. You should be safe now” Midoriya said to the woman releasing her. He still held Bakugo by the one arm but Bakugo had stopped moving. He was clearly at odds, shaken by the fact that a pro hero was hurt on his watch along with the fact that he had almost accidentally murdered a civilian.
“Hey dumbass! You need to cut it out before I make you”
Midoriya and Bakugo both look up at lightning speed. The voice sounded like Bakugo’s voice but weaker. They both saw Hado limping her way over to them smiling like she didn’t have a care in the world. The healer hero was running right behind her yelling for her to stop. “Thank god you two are…. okay” she weakly gets out before she starts to fall. Before she can hit the ground Bakugo catches her. “What were you thinking you idiot” he whispers harshly to her. “I could ask you the same thing” She replies quietly before passing out in his arms.
The healer motions for Bakugo to place Hado on the makeshift stretcher he set up. The healer quickly gets to work trying to stop the internal bleeding. She is then taken away in an ambulance.
Midoriya puts his hand on Bakugo’s shoulder. “She’ll be okay. She’s stronger than you think” He tries to reassure him. Bakugo swats his hand away. “I know that idiot” Bakugo chokes out. “That’s why it’s so hard to see her like this” he says quietly and walks off.
Midoriya left his friend to sort out his thoughts and went to check on his sidekick, Renova. It looked like she had rebuilt most of the destroyed buildings with her quirk. “Were there any civilians hurt?” Midoriya asked. “No. Luckily the fighting ended up in an abandoned area of town” Renova replied.
Even while he was exploding with anger, Bakugo had managed to make smart decisions and keep the town safe. Midoriya was proud of his friend.
Midoriya knocked gently on the hospital door before letting himself in. Hado was still passed out and Bakugo was sat right there next to her with a pained expression on his face. He seemed to be apologizing under his breath. Bakugo turns to look at Midoriya with as much of a normal face as he can muster. “She needs to stay with you” he says suddenly. Midoriya, taken aback by the statement, looks at him incredulously. “I got careless about those stupid rumors. I never addressed them, and they spread. They spread to those goddamn villains who targeted both my agency and her” Bakugo admitted. Instead of questioning it, Midoriya nodded in agreement, letting Bakugo have his moment. He started to prepare arrangements for Hado.
Hado slowly opened her eyes to see some familiar faces. “Oh thank god you’re awake” Jiro sighed, relieved to see Hado conscious. “Woah. Hey everyone” Hado says weakly. They all look like they’re about to cry. “You shouldn’t be talking right now! You need to get as much rest as you can after all that you went through” Ashido fussed.Hado just gives her a bright smile.
“What you did out there was so manly!” Kirishima interjected. Hado managed a small laugh. “Thanks. Is it also manly to have broken bones?” She joked. Kirishima looked like his tears were going to well up any moment “Your bones may be broken but your spirit clearly isn’t” he said wiping his eyes with his arms. “You did look pretty cool, but we were all really worried about you. You tried to take on 3 villains at once?! That’s a bit too much for even some of us” Ochako pipped up. Asui nodded in agreement. “Sometimes it’s better to run and let others better suited take care of the situation, gero” Asui added putting one finger up to her chin.
“Well I’m glad you’re okay because you need to start that band with Jiro here so I can be your lead guitarist” Kaminari chimed in. Hado laughed again but felt a sharp pain in her side and grabbed at it. “Dude shut up. You’re going to make her wounds worse” Sero said as he wrapped tape around Kaminari’s mouth.
Jiro leaned against her bedside and asked “So has your family come by yet? Are we the first to get you a get-well gift basket?”. She held up a basket full of fruits and set them on the table next to the bed. Hado felt her stomach sink. It wasn’t their fault. They didn’t know. She smiled again. “It would be really weird if they did considering they’ve been dead for almost 10 years now” Hado replied trying to make a dark joke out of it.
Jiro put her hand to her mouth. “I’m so sorry…I didn’t….I didn’t know” Jiro apologized. “Don’t worry about it. It’s been 10 years since it happened. I got counseling for it in high school at UA. I’ve pretty much healed from that wound” Hado explained.
For the next few minutes, they chatted like normal and it made Hado feel the slightest bit better. She was thankful to be able to call these heroes friends.
A day later Midoriya and Bakugo both stop by to check in on her. Midoriya made the same mistake of asking about her family. When she explained, he apologized profusely. She reassured him that it was alright. She noticeed Bakugo being very quiet. She turned her head to face him. “Thank you both for saving me. Thank you Bakugo for being so quick on the draw. If you hadn’t had been there, I would’ve been in much worse condition”.
“Yeah sure whatever” Bakugo mumbled.
Midoriya then told her that she would be staying at a place near his agency. “We want to try and keep your contact with the outside to a minimum” Midoriya says. Hado’s face twists in one of displeasure. It sounded like she would be on lockdown. Almost like she was grounded. Yeah, she got hurt pretty bad this time, but she wouldn’t make the same mistakes. “So, you’re just going to lock me up and expect me to be okay with this” She fought back angrily.
“Shut up you damn idiot. They’re looking for you! If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be lucky enough to be in a hospital bed next time” Bakugo barked. Hado was taken aback by the sudden increase in volume. Through that anger she could tell he was worried about her and a small bit of guilt started to spread in her chest.
“Kaa-chan, don’t you think that was a little harsh..” Hado holds up her hand to stop Midoriya. “No no. He’s right. He usually is as I have learned this week. I’ll go along with this plan. Please just keep me updated and let me help when I can” Hado responds.
Bakugo looks up surprised by the response. Hado swears that something about his face softens but only ever so slightly. Midoriya must have seen it too because he dismisses himself from the room saying he was going to get everything ready for Hado.
Bakugo continued to sit a chair away from the bed, refusing to look at Hado.
“Hey. You can go ahead and call me a dumbass if you’d like. I was absolutely out of my element in that fight and it was stupid of me to think I could hold my own”.
“I don’t need your permission to call you a dumbass, dumbass. You’re stronger than you give yourself credit for. Next time you need to have a backup plan that includes dodging the enemy until help arrives. I thought you were smarter than that, damn idiot”.
“Ah you’re right. I should’ve known better. Thank you Bakugo. I know I scared you and I know you’ll never admit that. I don’t want to worry you again. You have enough on your plate as it is”.
“You’re damn right you scared me. Use that goddamn fucking brain of yours next time” Bakugo growled. Hado looked shocked. She didn’t think he would ever admit something like that to anyone. She swore she saw a tear roll down his cheek, but before she could confirm it Bakugo stood up and headed for the door. “Thanks for your work. Midoriya will take it from here”
Bakugo left the room to be met with Midoriya. “Beating yourself up isn’t going to help. She cares about you, you know?” Midoriya advises patting Bakugo on the back. Bakugo grunts as they leave the hospital.

Sound Out
Chapter 5: Cabaletta
__________________________________________________________
Hado tossed and turned all night. Nightmares plagued her of seeing the same dead woman over and over enough. Voices speaking to her tell her she wasn’t fast enough, strong enough, or good enough. She woke up several times sweating profusely. The night was long and rough.
Hado woke up exhausted. Light streamed in through the window in between the blinds. She had dark circles under her eyes and she felt miserable. She had one more day in this big city and then she could go home to her town and try to forget everything that happened last night.
A soft knock was heard on the guest room door. Jiro peaked her head in looking for Hado. “Hey....I made us some breakfast....are you feeling okay?” She asked with a worried look on her face. Hado felt horrible for making her host worry. “Yeah. Just had some trouble sleeping” Hado answered. It wasn’t a lie.
Jiro knew something was bothering Hado but figured she would talk about it in time if she needed to. She closed the door to let her get ready for the day.
After a few minutes of waiting at the table, Jiro watched Hado come out of the guest room fully dressed with her hair pulled back. She looked so tired and miserable, but she managed to plaster a small smile on her face.
Jiro made her a plate and set it in front of her. Hado stared at it for a couple of seconds before thanking Jiro for the meal and taking small bites here and there. Jiro didn’t want Hado to push herself to tell her what was going on so instead she came up with a solution to help lift her spirits. She grabbed her phone and began to text a couple of people.
As Hado took small bites of the breakfast Jiro prepared, she caught the sound of a radio station. They were talking about local news and current events. “A 28 year old woman was found in her house dead. She was sat perfectly at her kitchen table with no signs of forced entry or any bruising or wounds. The woman’s husband.....”. Hado tried to stop listening. She started to become queasy and pushed her food away from her.
“Hey I’ve got an idea! Since it’s your last day in the big city, why don’t we go out for a bit and do some shopping. I’ll even treat you to something as thanks for helping us out here” Jiro said smiling warmly.
Hado wasn’t sure if she could get rid of this anxiety but she didn’t want to stay inside where news stations on TV or the radio could plague her. She nodded in agreement. “Sounds like a plan”.
The two women made their way to a big shopping district in the city. There was a very big mall in the center of the district that honestly was half the size of the town Hado lived in. She starred up wide eyed at the 3 story building. Jiro laughed at the face Hado made. “This is just one perk of living in a big city” Jiro explained as they entered the mall.
On the other side of the door 3 other women were waiting for them. Hado recognized them as Uravity, Froppy, and Acid Girl, except they weren’t in their costumes. “Are they on an undercover job?” Hado wondered. “Hey Jiro! Hey Vocaller!” Acid Girl greeted brightly. Upon hearing her hero name Hado stiffened. It was a little strange hearing it in public when she was in her normal clothes. Uravity elbowed her. “Oh right...um sorry I didn’t know your name but still wanted to hello. Sorry about that” Acid Girl apologized. “Don’t worry about it” Hado replied. “My name is Hado Hibiki. it’s nice to meet you guys finally and in normal clothing”.
“Oh how cute of a name! My name is Ashido Mina! You can call me Mina if you’d like!” Ashido spoke enthusiastically. Froppy spoke up. “I’m Asui Tsuyu. Please call me Tsu”. “I’m Ururaka Ochako. You can call me Ochako” Ururaka added.
Hado was feeling a little overwhelmed meeting all of these pro heroes at once, but it was a nice kind of overwhelming feeling. She smiled brightly at all of the ladies. It was nice to be able to take a day and relax. Plus she was relaxing with some very popular heroes!
The group walked around going in and out of lots of different shops. They were about to walk into a clothing store when they heard “Helloooo ladies”. Everyone turned their heads expecting to tell off some strange man, but instead were met with pro hero Chargebolt.
“Kaminari cut it out” Jiro threatened. “What I can’t greet my friends?” He asked with a big smirk on his face. Ashido ran up and hugged him. “Oh Kaminari it’s been so long since I’ve seen you!” She cried. “Wait dude it’s been like a week. That party we went to was exactly a week ago” Kaminari replied. “It feels like it was so long ago!” Ashido continued. Kaminari laughed and hugged her back.
The rest of the group greeted him warmly. “Oh and you’re that pro hero who was part of that big-” Kaminari was cut off by Jiro elbowing him hard in the ribs. “You’re that pro hero that’s staying with Jiro” he corrected himself. “Ummm yeah...I’m Hado Hibiki, please call me Hado” Hado replied. She felt her stomach sinking again. “You and Jiro would make a killer team! With both of you being sound based, I think you would really make some noise in the community” He continued. Hado smiled a small shy smile. “Yeah I think we’d make an awesome team. I hope we can team up again in the future. Or maybe start a band together that would be cool too” Hado admitted. Jiro face lit up at the idea of starting a band with one of her favorite heroes.
“Oh! I’m Kaminari Denki by the way!” Kaminari said. Hado nodded in understanding. The group continued to move through the mall together. It was genuinely an enjoyable experience for Hado. She didn’t have a whole lot of friends back home. She knew people, but they weren’t really her friends who she could hang out with. It was also nice to be able to spend time with people who knew what it was like to be a full time pro hero. They all shared stories of villains they had busted before. It made Hado feel welcomed and comfortable.
As they sat and chatted in the food court, Hado couldn’t help but listen in on some other conversations happening. Her habit of people watching and listening always kicked in in largely crowded areas. She caught bits and pieces of people wondering if her table was full of pro heroes. They couldn’t tell because they had only ever seen them in their costumes. Hado smirked. Then she heard something very interesting.
“Come on man. We’ve got fastforward working for us now. I don’t think we’ll need to wait much longer” a man spoke somewhere in the mall.
Hado sat up straight, alerted. The group looked at her worried. “Is everything alright?” Ashido asked. “Oh yeah...” Hado answered standing up and looking around. “I’m just going to head to the bathroom...” she mentioned and began to wander around the crowds of people. She hoped she had disappeared so they wouldn’t have to worry about giving her directions.
Hado looked frantically around the mall, trying to find where the sound was coming from. In her frenzy she bumped into another person. “Oh god I’m so sorry. I’m just trying to....”
“Watch where you’re going you goddamned.......” A harsh voice interrupted and then abruptly stopped. “Oh god oh no not him” Hado worried to herself. She immediately recognized the voice and looked up to see Ground Zero in normal clothing.
“Wait your that sound hero from the mission yesterday” He realized. “Oh here it comes....he’s going to yell at me for doing a terrible job isn’t he...” Hado braced herself. Instead, she felt a hand grab her arm and drag her along.
“Wait what the hell are you doing?” She asked angrily. “Shut up. You were looking for them too weren’t you. You heard them. I saw them” He replied tursely still walking briskly forward, dragging Hado with him. Ground Zero was a lot more observant than he let on.
“Deafen my steps” He demanded. “A please would be nice” Hado mumbled finally able to regain her footing and keep pace with him. He growled and shot her a murderous look. She immediately did as he asked. In fact she deafened both of their footsteps. Hado managed to catch a glimpse of the men they were following. The men looked around quickly, looking for anyone following them. Luckily Hado and Ground Zero were able to blend in with the crowds, immediately averting their gaze from the two suspects. They left quickly through the emergency exit. Ground Zero was very quickly on their tails. Hado could see small sparks coming off of his hands.
He stopped right at the door. “You need to create a distraction so they don’t look at the door. Then you need to make sure the door doesn’t make a sound. Got it” He ordered. Hado didn’t like being bossed around, but honestly it wasn’t a bad plan so she obliged. She focused on the sounds outside. The sound that came to mind was Deku’s voice.
“Never fear citizens! Why? Because I am here!” the voice seemed to come from the right side on the outside of the building.
“That’s the distraction you went with? That goddamn nerd?” Ground Zero snarled, clearly annoyed, but he continued out the door with Hado in tow. She quickly deafened the door so the two men wouldn’t be alarmed but the loud closing sound it would have made. However, since they heard a very well known pro hero’s voice, they started picking up their pace.
Ground Zero started to pick up the pace too, still keeping his distance. Hado really had to concentrate to keep up with the deafening of both of their feet so quickly. They watch the men turn a corner in an alleyway next to a bakery. By the time Ground Zero and Hado made it around the corner, they two men were gone.
“Damnit!” Ground Zero grunted slamming his fist on the wall of the the building on the other side. It was a vacant building so even if he did do a huge amount of damage, no one would be hurt. He started to grumble and the sparks in his hands got a little bigger and a little louder.
Hado could hear a voice though that didn’t belong to Ground Zero. “Hey shut up for a second!” She whispered harshly. “What did you say to me-?” She put a finger to his face and shushed him once more. “I can still hear them. There must be an entrance around here that they escaped into.....the sound is starting to fade like it’s traveling.....downward” Hado explained. She started tapping on the ground and walls. “What the hell are you doing?” He asked. “I just said they escaped into a secret entrance. Help me look” this time Hado gave the order. Ground Zero sneered as he began to knock on walls with Hado.
Hado managed to find some hollow panels. There were quite a few and pressing them did nothing. “They probably have to be pressed in a specific order” Ground Zero filled in the gap.
“Hey there you are!”.
Hado jumped. It was Jiro and the rest of the group. “We started getting worried about you when you hadn’t come back for a while so we went looking for you. Are you okay?” She asked. Hado turned on her heal with a smile on her face “Yeah I’m alright. Sorry I kind of got distracted after I left the bathroom” She replied. “Yo is that Bakugo?!” Kaminari said surprised. “You didn’t hurt Hado here did you? He probably called you some mean names, are you sure you’re alright?” He asked half sarcastically, picking on Bakugo.
“Shut the hell up Sparky” Ground Zero growled putting his hand up near Kaminari’s face with sparks threatening to explode. Ground Zero kept walking. Kaminari didn’t even flinch but walked by to check on Hado. Before Bakugo made his way around the corner, he threw a small card back to Hado. “Contact me if you figure anything out”.
The others in the group looked dumbfounded at Hado. “What the hell was that about?” Ashido asked. Hado began to sweat. “Oh I ran into him on my way out from the bathroom. I remembered I had some equipment that needed some maintenance and decided to ask him for some help” Hado lied. She wasn’t sure if this chase she just went on would actually show any results to help with the case so she kept the actual details to herself.
“That doesn’t explain Bakugo talking about figuring something out” Asui interjected. “Oh yeah...ummm..I was actually also looking into support items that were close to some of the things he has. He said he would be able to get me the requested items if I fully figured out what I needed them to be, so he gave me his...” Hado looked down and saw it was a business card with his agency’s number on it “agency’s number” She finished. “I won’t be able to get them here considering I’m leaving tomorrow” Hado finished her explanation.
The group looked at each other a little confused but accepted what Hado had said. “Wait it’s your last day in town?!” Ashido asked surprised. Hado nodded. “Well then we better get this party going!” She shouted excitedly. They ended up going to a movie. They were joined by Cellophane, who Hado learned was named Sero Hanta, and Red Riot, named Kirishima Eijiro.
Afterwards the group stops at a cafe to catch up with each other. They all started swapping stories and recalling their days at UA. While it was good wholesome fun, it made Hado feel out of place. She wasn’t there during their high school years. She didn’t go through the same things they did. She decided to take her leave.
“Hey I’m getting pretty tired so I’m going to head back. It was so nice to meet you all” Hado said waving to them on her way out. “Okay I’ll see you at home!” Jiro called back.
Hado began walking back to the shopping district knowing she would have better chances of catching a taxi around there. The hollow panels were still bothering her though. There had to be a way to open up that door. She meandered her way back to that alleyway. She concentrated on the hollow panels, specifically the space in which small amounts of soundwaves were coming from. She amplified the waves to cause enough force to unlock the mechanism in each of the panels. A door opened up in the side of the wall revealing a very dark and long hole with a ladder leading down. Hado smiled, proud of herself for figuring out how to get the secret door open.
The smile faded as she realized she had opened the door to a crime syndicate’s hideout with no back up. She started to freak out. “Oh god oh no what do I do” she mumbled to herself.
“Contact me if you figure anything out” .
She pulled out the business card frantically and dialed the number.
“Ground Zero Agency”
“GROUND ZERO iusedmyquirktoopenupthepanelmechanismsandnowthedoorisjustopenhelp” Hado ran all of her words together.
“Slow down goddamnit!” He growled over the phone.
Hado took a deep breath and explained the situation. “You need to close the door back up and leave the area”. Ground Zero could be impatient but he could understand all different types of situations and scenarios and pick a well suited option.
Hado did as she was told and headed back to Jiro’s place. She opened the door and saw Jiro look up from her phone. “Hey where were you? I thought you said you were headed home?” Jiro asked.
“Oh yeah I had dropped a small trinket of mine and went back to find it. I was pretty lucky that no one had taken it” Hado lied again. “Alright. I just hope you had a good day” Jiro answered. “Oh today was great!” Hado replied. “It was honestly so much fun being able to hang out normally with pro heroes. It made me feel welcomed” Hado replied. “Good” Jiro smiled.
Hado felt her cellphone vibrate in her pocket. She said goodnight to Jiro and headed to her room to answer the call. “You aren’t leaving tomorrow” a familiar voice spoke over the phone. “Um...who is this??”
“Goddamnit it’s Ground Zero you dumbass. I’ve made arrangements for you to stay in town a few more days. You’ll be picked up tomorrow morning and brought to my agency” He finished and then abruptly hung up.
Hado blinked surprised. So much for returning home.
Hado thanked Jiro for everything she had done for her in the morning. She took her duffle bag and walked outside to the car that was picking her up. “Hey if you ever need to talk about hero stuff or just normal everyday stuff, you have my number. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything” Jiro told her. Hado smiled a bright genuine smile. “Thank you so very much for everything” Hado replied and hopped into the car. She waved until she couldn’t see Jiro through the window. She sighed and slumped into her seat. She wanted to mentally prepare herself for Ground Zero.
The car pulled up to a building in the middle of town. It was 3 stories tall with a sleek black look. She walked into the building with her bag looking around at the decor. There were a few pictures of Ground Zero in articles praising him for rising to the ranks of the top pro heroes at such a young age. Ground Zero and Deku became top pro heroes at an even younger age than Hawks which was incredibly impressive.
“Hey dumbass. Let’s go” Ground Zero broke her train of thought.
They walked up to his office. He had a big space but everything was well organized and put together. “So what is my town supposed to do without me for the next...however long you decided to keep me in town?” Hado asked angrily. Part of the deal she made was that she would only stay for 3 days at maximum. She didn’t want to leave her town without a hero. It was such a small town that no pro hero would ever be around to help out.
“Quit your whining. Tsukuyami and Ingenium are out there in your shitty city keeping it safe” Ground Zero replied. In a way it was kind of reassuring, just said in a nasty way.
“Sorry about that” she heard someone say from the other side of the room. “It was my idea to keep you here”. And there was Deku. Another pro hero rising to the ranks of top hero. Deku explained that him and Ground Zero were working closely on this case so they kept a tight correspondance with each other. “Didn’t Ground Zero call Deku a damn nerd yesterday though? How are they working together? and working together so smoothly?” Hado thought to herself.
“Follow us to the conference room and we’ll get you up to speed on what we know, putting it together with what you know”
__________________________________________________________
“Hey boss how much longer until the first sample is ready?” Driver asked. The buff man found himself lugging another body across the room to throw into the incinerator. “Not much longer now that we have fastforward” The boss replied.
He stood in front of some lab equipment with a vial of something that was a very dark red color. He examined the vial and sloshed it around a bit before putting it back in its case to rest.
“Gushiken, the tests are ready to be run. The percentage that this first vile works, given the fastforward quirk being used, and the blood of the original big time villain is in that vile, is around 85 to 90% likely” A hooded person updated the boss.
“Thank you for your hard work Kaga” Gushiken replied. An ominous smile crept across his face as his dug his hand into the chest of the man who had the fastforward quirk. He forcefully activated it to speed up the process of their final product. Henchmen then removed the vial from the area to bring it into a new one as Gushiken put his hand in another person’s chest, activating their reset quirk. “Can’t wait to be able to transfer these quirks”.

Sound Out
Chapter 4: Aria Parlante
____________________________________________________________
Hado fidgeted with her costume, waiting for Jiro to give the okay to get going. She was incredibly anxious, wanting to not only do well enough to help, but also figure out what the hell was going on. Jiro put her hand on Hado’s. “It’s alright. You’re going to do great. Deku is also going with you so you are probably one of the safest people out there” Jiro reassured her. Hado nodded but didn’t stop playing with the flowing sleeves of her costume.
“I just want to make sure that I actually do help. I want to save those people” Hado said softly. Jiro noded. She wondered how she could possibly help Hado calm down at least a little bit.
“Hey did you want to hear more about class A?” Jiro asked, hoping the change in topic would get Hado’s mind out of it’s funk. It worked because Hado visibly perked up and answered “oh yes please!”
Jiro smiled and began to tell her of her first year at UA. She mentioned how Ingenium became their class rep which was of no surprise to Hado. She talked about how Aizawa threatened to expel the student who did the worst in their first quirk test. Hado shuddered. She continued on to the USJ incident, the training camp fiasco, and added the bits and pieces she knew of the yakuza gang her classmates had fought. At the center of almost every incident was Deku and Ground Zero. Jiro talked about how to rivalry between the two heroes really lit a fire under everyone else to train even harder.
Hado liked hearing all of the talk of heroes before they were pros. It was interesting to see where they came from and how they came to be. It helped explain their motivations and weather or not she would actually trust them with her life. To be fair pretty much everyone in class A was someone she could trust.
“What about you? What was your class like in the hero course?” Jiro asked. Before Hado could answer, Jiro received a message through her headphones. She nodded and looked over at Hado. “It’s time to head out”.
Hado took a deep breath in as she waited for Deku to show up on location at a residential park. She had arrived about 5 minutes before 11:00 trying to calm her nerves. About 2 minutes later Deku came flying in and landed next to her. “Hey Vocaller. Are you ready for this mission” He asked with a determined smile on his face. He kind of reminded her of an underclassman she used to see with blond hair and deep blue eyes.
“Um yeah sure. I’m pretty nervous but I think we can do this” She answered. Deku nodded. They looked around the park for a spot with densely packed foliage to sit in. Vocaller could deafen the rustling of any of the leaves to keep them as quiet as possible.
Not many people were out and about at the park this late. There was a couple that looked like they had just come from a night of dancing. There was a man jogging, and there was a very tired looking woman walking her dog. Four people to watch. Hado slipped into people watching mode and watched how they interacted with each other and the environment. The couple looked very enamoured with each other. The man’s coat was resting on his shoulders, his face was sweaty and his hair was a mess, sticking to his face. The woman stared up at the man with a bright smile on her sweaty face. They looked like they had had a great night. It made Hado smile.
“See anything yet?” Deku asked. Hado jumped slightly. “Oh sorry no. I was just kind of watching that couple over there. They look really happy” She mentioned. “Oh...you’re right they do” Deku replied. “I really like to people watch. I love seeing how they interact with the things around them. I do it all the time in my town” Hado explained. “So you must be pretty observant. It’s a pretty good skill to have”. Hado sighed. “Yeah I suppose so” She trailed off.
“Hey I’ve asked Ji-...Earphone Jack this, but I want to know what you think of your old classmates in class A” Hado said, still watching the couple closely walk together. “Oh? How much has Earphone Jack told you about our class?” Deku asked. Hado told him everything Jiro and her had talked about before they had to leave for the mission. “Yeah a lot happened to us the first year..”Deku said looking down at his hands. “That all happened in just your first year?!” Hado asked absolutely dumbfounded. “Oh yeah. There was just a whole lot of things going on at the time that became catalysts for all of those incidents. They were rough, but we got through them as a class. It really did bring us all closer together”
“So what were you all like though? Personality wise?” Hado pushed. Deku scratched the back of his head thinking back to his high school years. “Well um... Ka-Ground Zero and I had known each other as kids. Believe it or not he used to be a lot meaner than he is now. He’s calmed down considerably” Deku started. Hado looked with squinted suspiciously at Deku. “I know that doesn’t sound possible, but trust me it is. Um Ingenium was our class rep and he did an amazing job of not only leading our class, but being a wonderful friend to me. He’s saved my life on a few occasions. He’s just as earnest as he was when we first met” Deku smiled.
Deku continued to talk about his old classmates. He told Hado about Uravity and how he had a bit of a crush on her for a while. He talked about Shouta who he helped come out of his shell and begin to help him with his own insecurities. Hado thought about how heroes don’t always have to physically save someone. It seems like Deku really reached a lot of people. Especially his classmates. She smiled and hoped that she could reach people the same way Deku did.
After about 30 minutes of no activity Hado suggested they split up to cover more ground, just in case the settled location was a bit off from the detective’s estimate. “Okay we can split up, but you have to keep an open comm with me. I don’t want you to get into too much trouble. We still don’t know exactly who we are dealing with yet and I don’t want you to end up hurt” Deku told her. She nodded in agreement.
The two heroes split up. Hado pushed herself forward with the force of her soundwaves. She moved closer to the residential area where she heard a bit of shuffling and rustling. It was faint, but it was there. She made her way close to the house she heard it coming from. She pushed herself up into a tree in a yard to the right of the house. She looked closely into the side window into the kitchen. She listened even more intently
A bit further in the house she saw 2 people strapped to chairs, a man and a woman. They had their mouths taped and their hands were bound with rope. A man with slicked back black hair stood in front of them smiling. Next to him was a person with a hoodie hiding their face holding a tablet. They were clicking away furiously trying to figure out something on the screen. Vocaller could hear all of the finger taps against the screen. The man with the slicked back hair ordered someone just out of eyesight to look around to double check there was no one around.
Hado’s breath hitched in her throat but she concentrated on deafening the sound around her so as not to have the rustling of the leaves be a distraction. She sat as still as she possibly could as she watched a buff man in a mask and hoodie walk around the house. He didn’t seem to notice her so he went back inside to report to the other man.
As soon as the man with the slicked back hair heard from his henchman, he pushed his hand into the chest of the man strapped and bound to the chair. His hand disappeared into the man’s chest, not creating a hole, but going straight through it. The man then tensed his arm and suddenly things around them started to change. Hado noticed a couple of house plants started to wither, the house itself look like it was deteriorating from years of wear.
Hado then realized the tree she was in started to wilt and lose its leaves. She started to panic. She kept up the deafening around her and tried to move to an area that was better hidden. She climbed quickly and quietly out of the tree desperately searching for another hiding spot. “What was that?” She heard someone from in the house say. She closed her eyes and sat on the ground trying to concentrate. She tried to make the sound of a cat happen on the other side of the building but she couldn’t focus, her anxiety dragging her down. “This is it. This is how I die”.
The henchman went through the backdoor of the house and looked around the yard as well as the neighboring yard. He only noticed some dead plants and a slight breeze blowing by. He went back in to the house to report that it was nothing.
Hado opened here eyes to see Deku carrying her through the air. “Damn it” she cursed in her head. She didn’t want to die, but she wished she had the power to actually do more. She realized she would’ve been useless in a fight if they had seen her. Tears started to spill down her face.
Deku set her down on the ground, a few blocks away from the house. She looks back at the house and through her tears sees the house revert to it’s previous state. The villains had done what they had come to accomplish. Hado tried to run to the house knowing there was still a woman in there who was either dead or still struggling .
She abruptly stopped as Deku firmly gripped her arm. “You can’t go back there. What were you thinking?! I asked you to simply communicate with me and I got radio silence for at least 30 minutes! I tried to contact you but you wouldn’t respond! If I had been any slower, what would you have done?” Deku scolded her. Hado slumped down, shoulders shaking, hiding her face that was now overflowing with tears.
“Vocaller! Hey! Look at me!” Deku turned her around to see her face an absolute mess. “There were two people in there! They used one of them. We have to go back for the other” Hado cried. Deku’s face softened realizing what she was dealing with internally. He had been through something similar a while back.
He grabbed her by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes “We can’t go back there without backup. You are in no condition to fight in such an emotional state. We have to wait. I know how you’re feeling. I know you want to help those people. I was in your shoes just a few years ago. None of this is your fault. I need you to trust me” He tried his best to calm and reassure her.
Hado’s crying turn into small sobs as her knees hit the ground. She wasn’t fast enough. She wasn’t strong enough. She wasn’t Good enough. Her fears were coming to fruition. She had let a villain escape because she was too afraid to do anything.
Deku got onto one knee to bring himself to her level. “I’m going to tell you what an incredibly smart person told me just the other day: ‘None of this is your fault. We will figure this out’” He said warmly. Hado’s sobs subsided just a bit. The tears kept coming but she had better control of her breathing. She stood up and quietly, with a cracking voice, thanked Deku.
The police showed up about 5 minutes after the incident had happened. The house looked perfect and untouched. The only weird thing on the outside was the dead plants in the yard of the house they were investigating, as well as that of the houses next to it.  They entered the house cautiously only to find a woman sat in a chair at the kitchen table. They checked her pulse and her breathing. She was gone.
Hado followed them and her fear was confirmed. More tears came rolling out over her cheeks. Her face felt so very warm and she was starting to have trouble actually seeing anything. Deku propped her up on his shoulder. “You can’t go passing out on me now. I know you saw things that are important to this case. You can still help these people by telling the police what you saw”
Hado tried to calm herself and at least bring the tears to a slow down. The police chief walked over to her and asked her about what she had seen. She described the man with the slicked back hair and the person next to him with the tablet that they furiously tapped away on. She told them about how he put his hand into the chest of the man that was kidnapped and how everything around started to slowly deteriorate. The people themselves were fine but everything else looked like it was aging.
The police weren’t able to identify the man who lived in this house. They were going to wait until the morning to talk to neighbors about the man and woman living here and if they knew anything about them personally or if they had quirks and how they worked. They were still missing chunks of information but with Vocaller filling in some more important questions, they were able to devise a new plan of action.
“Thank you Vocaller for your help. I think we may have finally had our first big break in this case. We are now that much closer to saving those people” the detective who had run the meeting earlier that day told her. Hado nodded and gave a sort of crooked smile.
“I know you may be beating yourself up over this, but you just helped us take a big step in this mission. These kidnapped people are going to be saved thanks to you” Deku spoke. Hado gave a small sigh, agreeing with the sentiment. She was hoping that they weren’t too late to save those people like she was with the woman laying dead in the house.

In an underground facility on the outskirts of the town, a man with slicked back black hair stood in front of another man who had been tied and sat on the ground. He was passed out from energy exertion.
“Sorry about the scare boss....I could’ve sworn I saw something moving outside” a buff man apologized to the man with the slicked back hair.
“Oh don’t worry about that Driver. Our percentage of success was so high it doesn’t really matter now does it? And our percentage of succeeding in our goal is still just as high as it was before we picked up this guy” a person with a hoodie and glasses responded while tapping away at the tablet in front of them.
“Let’s just beef up security to be safe” a smooth confident voice came from the man deemed “boss”.
“Yes sir, right away” Driver replied.
The Boss smiled eerily at the man they had captured. “You are going to be just the man to help our little transfer plan go quicker. Go throw him in the back room with the rest” he ordered.
Another henchmen came buy and slumped the man over his shoulder. He took him through a long hallway leading to a small room. He opened the door and threw him inside with several other people and bodies. Some of the people were passed out, some of them were trying to squirm out of their restraints to no avail. Dead bodies also rotted away near those that were still lucky enough to be alive.
“Oh man this next part is going to be so much fun”

Sound Out
Here is part 3 of my story
________________________________________________________________
Chapter 3: Recitative
Jiro and Hado were both up pretty early, ready to get a start on this case. They both looked through the files given to Jiro before they left for the briefing. Seeing the photos of so many missing people made Hado’s blood boil. She only hoped that they were still alive to rescue.
The two arrived in their hero costumes ready to get started. Hado’s costume wasn’t too complex. Her top half bore a crop top with long sleeves. It was flowy so that She could get deep breaths to project her voice to manipulate those soundwaves. Her bottoms were comfortable black pants with the same blue wave patterns as on her crop top. They were supposed to be soundwaves, but she knew you couldn’t see soundwaves, so she went for a visual representation that most technology could produce. She had her signature black and white headphones to help both cancel out and amplify sound. Attached to the headphones was a very small mic that people could only see if they tried hard enough to find it. Around her waist was a belt with small grey devices that allowed her speak through. If for any reason she couldn’t get too close to a target, she would slap one of them down, get a decent distance away, and speak into her mic, causing the sound to come from the device. If she bent the soundwaves just right, she could sound like anything, or anyone, that she has heard before.
The two heroes sat at the conference table. Hado looked around at other heroes she may or may not have known. She clearly recognized Deku. He was studying the case notes very intently. Hado could understand. She looked just to Deku’s right and saw what looked like a knight in shining armor. Literally. Hado wracked her brain for who this hero was. “Oh yeah! That’s Ingenium! The hero with the built-in engines” She remembered. Ingenium was looking over Deku’s shoulder at the notes as well. The two seemed close.
Jiro leaned over to whisper to Hado. “Most of the heroes here were in class A together. It’s why we communicate so well and why we are so hellbent on catching these villains” She explained. Hado nodded in understanding. She continued to scan the table as more heroes arrived. She started to remember the hero names she had read about before. Uravity was here along with Froppy the frog hero. They were both probably good at reconnaissance for this particular mission. Hado remembered that they would team up quite often.
She was shocked to see Ground Zero here as well. She understood that they were probably in the same class but Ground Zero seemed a little scary and a little too loud for this mission. She kept scanning so as not to make eye contact with him.
There was Tentacole, the hero who had dupliarms as a quirk. Creati was also present, which made a lot of sense to Hado. Chargebolt managed to take a seat to jiro’s left side. He started chatting her up. Hado decided to stay out of that conversation. “Who else is here....let’s see” .
Eraserhead was here! It had been awhile since she had seen that sleepy face. Jet-black hero Tsukuyomi was here. Tape hero Cellophane was also here. Before she could continue to look around at familiar faces, a detective cleared his throat and started the briefing.
“Thank you all for being here so early. We are trying to piece together this case in a way that makes sense, and helps us advance to some kind of rescue. Most of the upcoming missions will be reconnaissance just to give us any more possible information so that we can surprise the enemy” the detective stated. “I’ve worked closely with most of you now, but I would like to welcome Vocaller to our investigation. She is a hero from a small town but her quirk is incredibly useful”.
Hado stood up and bowed. “Thank you for this opportunity to serve. I hope I will be of use” She said and sat back down.
“Wait wait but how does your quirk work? How is she going to be helpful?” Chargebolt interrupted, genuinely curious. The detective looked at Hado, seeing if she was comfortable enough to divulge that information to the large group of heroes in the room. Hado sighed and stood back up. “I can manipulate soundwaves. If there are soundwaves present, which unless you live in space are always going to be present, I can bend them to create different frequencies or amplitudes. By doing this I can mimic sounds of things or people I have heard before. I can also basically stop the sound waves in an area to deafen anyone there. Having a quirk based on sound also made me train my ear so I have an acute sense of hearing as well” she explained. “That enough for you sparky?” she jeered.
“Um yeah. That was a lot more than I expected” Chargebolt responded.
“Ahem...anyway Vocaller will be helping us get any kind of new information to help us really crack this case” The detective continued.
The detective turned on the projector, clicking through slides of information. Hado watched as faces from the case file flashed across the screen. They all were different ages and different genders. It was suspicious though that one of the first people ever kidnapped had a quirk that essentially keeps small groups of people hidden. “Were they using this quirk? And if so how? Did they voluntarily do it? Were they held at gunpoint?” Hado thought to herself.
Jiro bumped her with her elbow. “Yo are you okay? You look incredibly confused and upset” Jiro whispered. “I’m just.....I’m stuck on the first person they kidnapped” Hado responded a little louder than a whisper.
“What do you mean you’re stuck on them” snarled Ground Zero.
Hado momentarily jumped from the intense voice directed at her. “I mean....Look at that quirk. A quirk with the ability to keep a small group of people hidden...Don’t you think a villain would jump at the chance to use that quirk? And if they are using it, How are they using it? Is this person doing it voluntarily? Are they holding them at gunpoint?” She explained. “I was wondering the same thing” Deku spoke up. “There’s also someone with the quirk ‘Reset” which can reset an area back to the way it was 5-10 minutes before. It only effects inanimate objects so the people would still be there, but it would be pretty convenient for a villain” Deku continued.
“Those people that were kidnapped are probably being threatened into using their quirks for them” Ingenium interjected. Hado felt a pit in her stomach. “If that really is the case it is incredibly important that we get this job done without being detected. If they find out we are trying to track them they may hurt those that have been kidnapped more than they already have. Chances are they are not dead because their quirks would prove to be very useful. We have to do this right” the detective replied. Most everyone in the room nodded in agreement.Hado looked over to Deku who shared a knowing glance with her.
“We are splitting you guys into smaller groups and spreading you out across the city to look for suspicious activity. We have several spots that we think may be of interest to them. That where we will station you guys. Vocaller! You will be in the area where we are most certain they will appear” the detective explained.
“Oh god oh god what if I fuck up oh no” Hado’s internal monologue had her sweating and shrinking into herself.
“I’ll go with her” Deku said confidently.
“Why should you get to go where the enemies are most likely to show up?” Ground Zero growled. “Look Ka-...Ground Zero, I think I would be able to work well enough with Vocally that if the need arose, we could use my quirk to fight undetected thanks to her” Deku elaborated.
“Yeah I think it would be hard to control the soundwaves of a bunch of explosions. Plus I mean....you would see them so it would be a dead giveaway” Cellophane added.
“Tch”.
Everyone got their assignment and were told to start scouting at around 11p.m. that night. Everyone started moving to leave when Deku called out to Vocally. Hado looked at Jiro and Jiro gave her a knowing nod. “I’ll see you later so we can prepare for tonight okay?” Jiro reassured her. Hado nodded but the pit in her stomach had just grown bigger.
“Do you mind if we had another chat?” Deku asked Hado. She couldn’t really say no.
The two pro heroes stayed in the conference room, knowing that it would probably be one of the safest places to have a discussion about the case.
“I saw your face during the briefing. You think something is off too. You think something worse is happening don’t you” Deku pushed. “Woah hold on. Please give me some time to breathe. I’ve just been told that I would be put on the front lines here with the big time criminals. I’ve only ever fought your run of the mill thieves and crooks” Hado said frantically, sitting back down to try and catch her breath. Her chest started to tighten. “Oh god a panic attack? Right now? In front of this incredible pro hero...no please stop...”.
Deku’s face flashed with a realization. Hado was having a panic attack and he had probably caused it. He sat down next to her, took her hand and told her to breath in and out with him. They took a few deep breaths together. “I apologize. I may have pushed a little too hard there. I’m just....just so frustrated” Deki said clenching his fist around Hado’s hand. He looked like he was about to cry.
Hado felt the pressure he was putting on her hand and it helped her calm herself a little bit. “You’re probably the most frustrated one here. I can empathize with that. I know that if people were disappearing in my town and I couldn’t stop it myself, I would feel pretty awful” She told him trying to help with the anxiety plaguing them both.
She pulled her hand away and patted Deku on the back. “Look here’s what I know...”.
They discussed how weird the first few disappearances were. They talked about how it made them feel sick to their stomach, unsure of what was actually happening to these people. Objectively the combined powers of the quirks talked about would probably be why they were so hard to catch or follow. They tried to come up with strategies to get information without alarming the crime syndicate. Hado knew how to sneak around and gather information but this seemed a bit above her pay grade. She was relieved to have Deku there who seemed to know the ins and outs of everything involving heroes.
“So you can deafen people with your quirk, you can manipulate sound waves to make them sound like people or things you’ve heard before,You can amplify the sound waves to push yourself to increase your mobility....Is there anything else you could do that might be helpful in this situation?” Deku questioned her.
Hado went through her quirk in her mind. He had just about listed everything she could do. She was impressed by how observant he was. She tried to think hard about her power. “Creating different sounds at once has been a bit of a struggle for me considering I need to have an idea of both sounds at once happening in my head. The training that takes just to adjust your ears to be able to seperate sounds and analyze them is rough....but it can be done. I’ve done it maybe once before when the situation looked really bleak. I had to close my eyes and concentrate really hard, but it was doable” She revealed.
“Would you be able to make those two sounds happen in two different places?” Deku asked. “Oh....I might be able to do that. Hold on. Let me see if I can try in this small space”.
Hado closed her eyes and thought of 2 different sounds in her mind. She thought of the frequency and the amplitude they would need to be put in opposite corners of the room. Two things she was very familiar with. She had to think. Her voice would be one and her keyboard would be the other. She knew what they each sounded like and visualized the soundwaves and where they would happen. The sound of her voice saying “We will save these people” rang at one end of the room while the faint sound of a piano playing a simple melody barely made itself known on the other side.
Deku’s eyes widened with surprise. “That’s incredible Vocaller! You did it!” he praised. Hado let out a huge puff of air. It gave her a headache to do this much work. Focusing on one sound and manipulating waves in the same area was fine. Working in two different places with two different sounds was a whole new ballgame. “Yeah I did it.....but it took a lot of effort and the piano was no where near as loud as I was hoping I could make it” Hado said clearly disappointed. “But this is so useful! If we need a quick last resort distraction, you can make 2 sounds happen in different areas! It’s perfect!” Deku continued to gush.
Hado gave a small laugh. “You sound like a small kid discovering heroes for the first time” Hado jested. “Well I’m a pro hero and I don’t know everything there is to know about every pro hero. I learn something new every day and I hope that never stops” Deku smiled a bright genuine smile. It made Hado feel warm and safe. His attitude toward his heroing duties made her feel like she could do anything herself as a hero. “Is this what Jiro was talking about?” She thought.
The two sat and talked just a little bit longer before going their separate ways.”Oh hey! Deku!” Hado turned around and shouted to the green hero. “None of this is your fault. We’ll figure this out tonight”
Deku looked surprised again watching Hado as she left. He smiled and nodded to himself. They could do this.

Sound Out
Here is Chapter two of my multi chapter story
________________________________________________________________
Chapter 2: Aria of a New Start
Vocaller had no idea what she was getting herself into.
She was driven from her city to a much bigger city a couple of hours away. She looked out the window at the towering buildings and the incredibly big crowds flowing through the streets. Just looking at how much was going on gave her a headache. Luckily she brought her protective headphones to keep most, but not all, sound out. She used the headphones to help train her ear to better her quirk. Both the headphones and herself had been through a lot together.
“Here’s the drop off miss” The driver said, snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Oh! Okay thank you very much!” She tipped the driver and removed her duffle bag from the backseat. It wasn’t a huge bag, nor was it completely filled. She had agreed on only being there for 3 days at a maximum.
As she stepped out of the cab, she looked at the residence before her. It was a pretty normal looking home with two stories. A balcony peaked over the front door. The shrubs that were up against the house seemed to be well kept. It was a bit bigger than what she was used to, but that didn’t mean she didn’t like it. She prefered more space over less.
She walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. Instead of the ringing sound of a bell, it was the sound of guitar distortion. It shocked her for a moment. She tried the bell again just to make sure she heard correctly. “Fascinating” She said in a whisper. Before she could examine the bell any more, the door opened.
“Oh you must be Vocaller! The soundwave hero! I’ve heard so much about you and have so many questions to ask you!” A very excited woman spoke. She looked so happy that Vocaller thought she might explode from sheer excitement.
“Do other people really know who I am????” Vocaller thought to herself. She looked a little closer at the woman and noticed her ears were.......they were jacks! Oh.......This is the hero Earphone Jack! She wore her signature black jacket and thick boots. She rocked a pixie cut and a sweet septum and lip piercing.
“Oh dear lord she’s hot” Vocaller thought.
“Oh please come in! I’ll show you around and then show you to your room! You must be tired, especially since you’ve come to a big noisy city to work” Earphone Jack continued and started walking inside. “So you know that loud sounds give me migraines???” Vocaller asked. “Oh yeah! You’ve got some of the best ears in the business! So I’d guess that you’ve got an acute sense of hearing that could probably be sensitive” She explained.
“Hot and considerate?!” Vocaller internally screamed.
She followed her into the house and looked around as she was given a tour. There were beautiful guitars, both acoustic and electric, out on display. There were also some brass instruments hung on the walls with care. They walked past a sound proof room that contained a drum-set, along with recording equipment, microphones, and even soundboards. Vocaller’s head started spinning from all of the music related things. She thought she was going to pass out. She could never make enough money to afford any of these things. Such is the life of working in a small town.
“You can call me Jiro while we’re here. No need to call me by my hero name if you’re going to be living under the same roof for a little while. I still can’t believe that I get to host you!” She continued.
Vocally snapped out of her shock. “Oh.....in that case please call me Hado. I’m Hado Hibiki” Vocaller replied. “Hado....Alright Hado, let’s get you settled in” Jiro answered, leading her to the guest room.
She opened the door and revealed a small guest bed, a keyboard in the corner, and a few posters of famous singers. “I apologize for some of the memorabilia...I am quite a fan of musicians considering my parents were musicians” Jiro nervously laughed and rubbed the back of her head. “Oh please don’t apologize! If I had the money for any of this stuff, my room back home would look exactly like this! I’m a singer myself so seeing these absolute stars on the walls is incredible!” Hado assured. “Can I...?” Hado gestured to the keyboard.
“Oh by all means please do!”
Hado rushed towards the keyboard and promptly turned it on. It was a nice one with the weighted keys and multiple sound settings. Hado rested her fingers on the keys and closed her eyes. She had practiced piano for a while to help with her quirk. It was the easiest instrument to help with ear training and understanding sound waves. She played a soft melody with her right hand and some warm chords underneath in her left hand. It wasn’t technically perfect. It wasn’t high class classical levels. It was just.....her sound.
Jiro smiled and leaned against the doorway watching Hado move across the keyboard. One of the heroes she had wanted to meet in real life was suddenly in her home, playing her instruments. This was probably one of the best days Jiro had had in a while.
As Hado let the last chord ring a for a little longer, Jiro clapped. Hado, not used to having anybody really cheer her on, was startled but stood up and bowed just like a professional musician would. She made sure to make it extra dramatic. Jiro snorted. “I still can’t believe that the soundwave hero is in my home” She said once more. “I can’t believe I’m in the home of Earphone Jack! Can you imagine how incredible it would be to work together with our quirks?!” Hado gushed. It seemed she too had a fangirl side of her, at least when it came to sound and music related things.
“well we don’t have to imagine because starting tomorrow we will be working together on this case that Deku recruited you for” Jiro explained with a bright smile on her face.
“No.....fucking....way” Hado’s jaw had fallen a little bit further than she would’ve liked. She shook her head and beamed at Jiro. “This is going to be incredible! At first I was a little worried....you know....I don’t like leaving my town alone....I love that city and protecting it is the highlight of my life, but I think this will be a great opportunity not only to work with people I admire, but also to enhance my work as a pro” Hado opened up.
“You really do care about the people in your town. That’s totally rockin’”
Hado smiled at Jiro’s use of the word “Rockin’”. They continued to talk a little bit about why they became heroes and some of their favorite stories. Time dragged on for a while.
“No way....you managed to prank Present Mic back in the day by making your voice sound like Aizawa?” Jiro managed to get out in between bouts of laughter. “Oh yeah. I couldn’t keep getting away with it though. Aizawa was almost always there when I tried to prank others after that so my voice came out as normal. It was totally embarrassing” Hado reminisced. She missed her old school days at UA.
“I still can’t believe that you’re only 4 years older than me. It just seems like you would’ve been a great part of my class. You would’ve loved them” Jiro said. “Oh yeah? Was Deku a part of your class too?” Hado asked. “Are you kidding? He was like the heart of our class. His attitude towards becoming a hero all pushed us to work harder and harder to achieve our dreams” Jiro smiled warmly. “That sounds like him, considering what kind of a pro hero he is” Hado connected.
“Ah well I really want to keep talking and all of this but we do have an early day tomorrow. I’ll grab us some dinner and we can get some rest” Jiro said getting up from the bed where she was sitting. Hado smiled and nodded. She waved to Jiro as she left to go get dinner. She sighed and laid down on the bed. There was so much happening to her in just one day that it made her head spin. Not only was she in the home of a pretty famous hero, these heroes also knew who she was. That was probably the craziest thing about this situation.
Hado didn’t really want to pursue being in the limelight. She was absolutely content with working for a small time city. The smaller towns were almost always forgotten because most heroes wanted to work where most of the action was. Since so many of the heroes moved to bigger cities, crime started to grow in the smaller towns. These people deserved to be saved too. They deserved to be protected. She never made a fancy debut like all of the other heroes. She just established herself in that small town and got to work. Her hard work definitely paid off considering the crime rate there was near non-existent.
Hado sat back up and huffed to herself. As much as she wanted to be back home protecting the citizens of the town, she knew that this mission was important. She tried to get into the mindset of tracking and capturing villains.
From what she was briefed on these criminals were pulling off some serious jobs. They started out small time with bank robberies. The jobs continued to get bigger and more violent. There was almost always someone innocent missing from the crime scene. Families all over the city were looking for their children, spouses, brothers or sisters. What didn’t make sense though was there would be people killed at the scene of the crime. They would be cleaned up completely of course but unresponsive. Why in the world would they take one person from each crime committed but kill the rest? Hado would have to look into who exactly was missing.
In the midst of her going over all of the information she was given, she heard the front door open. “I come bearing gifts of food!” She heard Jiro call out. Hado hopped out of the bed and walked out to the kitchen. Jirou was unpacking a couple of bowls with rice, beef, and veggies. There were some sauce packets placed on the counter as well. “I know it isn’t a whole lot but it was the closest place still open” Jiro apologized. “Oh don’t worry about it! This is perfect” Hado reassured her.
They both grabbed their own bowls and filled them with rice, meat, and veggies. They chatted some more about other sound heroes, musicians, and stories from their high school years. After a few more stories Hado decided she would ask about the case they were covering. Jiro straightened up and her smile faded. “These guys are pretty awful” Jiro spoke a little more softly. “There are so many people who have gone missing right under our noses. It’s so frustrating.....” She continued and balled her fists
Hado could empathize. If something bad happened in her town, but she didn’t notice, she would be so angry with herself. She nodded to Jiro. “All the more reason we need to take these guys out”.
Jiro nodded as well. “We better head to bed soon if we want to be as productive as possible tomorrow” Jiro said. Hado agreed and began to clean up her mess. The two cleaned up the left overs and put them away. They headed to bed to hopefully catch some sleep before the chaos of the next day.

Sound Out
A story in parts of a character I created and love. This is mostly to get back into writing. This was incredibly fun to do. So much so that I’m making it a multichapter story. I will write warnings as they come up in each chapter

Chapter 1: Overture
Vocaller
The name of a hero! Not a big one mind you, but a hero nonetheless.
The pro hero walked the streets patrolling in her small city. While the hustle and bustle could be pleasant to listen to, sometimes the dissonance of city sound was too much. Having a quirk that revolved around sound could be quite annoying sometimes.
Vocaller meddled with the soundwaves in the immediate area to propel her up to the roof of a nearby building. She kicked her feet back and forth and sighed. While she liked being a well known hero and protector of her city, it felt like she was missing out on other things. Not a whole lot happens in a small time city. You get the normal small time thieves and thugs. Even those stopped coming up as often since she started. That’s a sign of a job well done. She believed that if a hero was truly doing their job, the place they are protecting would end up needing them less and less. If crime rates go down due to the influence of a hero, that is a mission accomplished.
She did enjoy watching the people go by and go about their business. She squinted to try and look a little closer at the moving crowds. She could see a child running a bit too fast for their mother to keep up. She spotted a man on his cellphone trying to console the person on the other side. There was also a group of teenage girls squealing and squawking about the new heroes steadily becoming popular in the mainstream.
“Oh to be young and enamoured by every cute boy or girl that pops up in the media” Vocaller thought to herself. She rested her elbows on her lap and put her chin on her hands, smiling at all of the social interaction happening. “Oh who was that new hero that just did an interview the other day?” She thought trying to recall the voice and the name. “Oh right! Deku!” She quickly remembered. How could she possibly forget. She stood up and took in as much air as possible to be able to project well enough to those teenage girls on the street. She spoke loudly and clearly but the voice that came from her mouth did not sound like her own.
“I will continue to protect everyone I can! I hope to be the number one hero soon!”
The girls nearly gave themselves whiplash looking around for the body that was supposed to be attached to the voice. “Where is he?!” shouted one of the girls. “I  would know that voice anywhere!” yelled another. Vocaller quickly sat down and snickered as the girls clumsily tripped over each other trying desperately to find the pro hero who worked nowhere near this town.
“A sound based quirk huh?”
a voice from behind startled her nearly throwing her off the ledge. Luckily all the quirk training she did caused her to manipulate the soundwaves to prop her up just like when someone catches themselves from falling with their arms.
“And a quick reaction time too? That’s pretty cool”
Vocaller turned around and her eyes met with the very hero she had mimicked early
“OH MY GOD THERE HE IS!” squealed the teenage girls pointing to the rooftop. Vocaller nearly had a heart attack. The the sudden screaming gave her a horrible headache. The green hero known as Deku simply waved to the people below. Vocaller completely removed the soundwaves from around her and deafened herself just to keep from receiving an awful headache.
“Oh my god. what the hell? Why is he here? In my small town? Look at all the fuss he’s made! Look at all of those soundwaves coming from the ground! This is ridiculous!” Vocaller thought to herself. This was annoying. In any other circumstance she would have been star-struck, but the incredible amount of sound was driving her nuts. There were so many different tones and timbres happening all at once. It was a nightmare for a hero with such a well trained ear. She deafened her steps and tried to walk away quickly without being noticed but was quickly grabbed by the arm by the hero who was being cheered for. “How could he have possibly heard me?!”
It looked like he was trying to say something back to her, halfway looking behind him, but still waving to the crowd. Vocaller let the soundwaves occur naturally again and she heard him apologize and ask for just a few minutes of her time. She couldn’t possibly turn down one of the most popular newbie pro heroes. She let out a long sigh. “Fine but only if you can get them to stop cheering. It is giving me an incredible migraine”
Deku spoke to the crowd confidently. “Good citizens! I have stopped by to speak to your city’s hero and protector! I must steal her away for a bit of time but I promise to return her soon! Please go about your day without worry! Why? Because I am here!” and there was his iconic phrase passed down to him by the last symbol of peace.
Vocaller sighed again as was habit to do when things got particularly annoying or troublesome. “You sure do sigh a lot. Is it like a heart thing?” She heard Deku ask before he leapt with her in his arms.
“Oh god oh god please put me back on the ground. land. please land”
He looked to see her worried expression and quickly found a small lake to land next to. There were almost no people there so it was a perfect spot to have a chat.
“Okay, firstly you can’t just jump off with someone. Secondly what are you doing in my city? Thirdly you owe me some painkillers for this awful migraine you have caused from that crowd screaming”, Vocaller quickly yelled at him as her feet touched the ground. She then realized who she was talking to and slapped her hand over her mouth. She turned a very pale color and began to sweat.
“Oh I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble! Are you okay? You look terribly pale” Deku asked genuinely. “Of course he’s nice to boot. He wouldn’t be so popular otherwise” Vocaller internally monologued. She removed her hand from her mouth. “I shouldn’t have spoken to you the way I just did. It was incredibly disrespectful to one of the best heroes in the world. I am so sorry. I was just very annoyed by all the sound and it set me off. I am so sorry” She apologized profusely, even bowing in the process.
“No please, I’m the one who caused you all these problems! I knew you had a sound quirk and should have put together that your hearing would also have to be impeccable. I hope you will still let me chat with you” He put his hand on her shoulder to keep her from bowing again. Vocaller let out a sigh of relief. She again realized who she was talking to. “Y-y-yeah sure...uhhhhhhh...want to go....umm..what’s the word....oh no.....uhhh. I promise I’m not this stupid” She stuttered and tumbled over her own words. “How about we take a seat on that bench over there?” Deku suggested. Vocaller nodded, relieved that she didn’t have to remember words for the time being.
They walked over to the bench that overlooked a small pond. Some ducks were swimming around looking for people to throw them food. They begged almost like dogs. A cool breeze blew by rustling the nearby trees. It was quite a nice day to be outside.
“So....umm...what are you doing in my city???” Vocaller asked ending the break in the conversation. “Oh I was looking for you” Deku replied. “Okay cool, but why?” She replied. “Are you ready for a bit of a story?” He asked. “Ummmm I guess??? Crime rate has been pretty low around here so I think I’ve got a good chunk of time”.
Deku began to explain events that had been unfolding elsewhere in the country. There was a crime syndicate that was terribly hard to track and was very good at disappearing at the right time. They would come out from hiding, commit some sort of a heinous crime, and then immediately disappear. it was incredibly frustrating for the pro heros in the area. Most of them were great at fighting, but not so great at sneaking. Of course they knew how to but the crime syndicate was too good at sensing and tracking them. They began to understand the pro heroes’ routines and knew exactly when to leave.
As Deku spoke he seemed to be incredibly frustrated with the situation. If he was anything like how he portrayed himself in the media, Vocaller could probably peg exactly what he was thinking. If he was a truly genuine hero, he would probably be thinking “How can I possibly call myself a hero if I can’t even catch a gang wreaking havoc in a city I protect”. She realized she was wondering from the conversation and snapped herself back into it.
“That’s why we want to ask you for help” Deku finished.
“wait...ummm...back up. I’m sorry what? I’m not even in the top 50 heroes. I’m not that amazing. How could I possibly help?” Vocaller shot back.
“You are incredibly talented with sound. Honestly the hero charts don’t really reflect how good a lot of the other heroes are. A good portion of it is popularity with the people. I mean yeah saving people counts for a good portion too, but protecting a small city makes it hard to top the charts. It doesn’t mean that you aren’t fantastic at your job though” Deku reassured her.
“We’ve kept an eye on you for a few months and you are incredible! You manage to catch bad guys without even getting into a fight! They don’t even hear you coming much less see you!” Deku gushed.
“Oh....he’s a fanboy...” Vocaller managed to pick up. “I mean yeah that’s true, but these are small time villains, You’ve taken down much bigger and more intimidating groups. I’m sure you don’t actually need a sound quirk to help you on this front” She replied.
“Please Vocaller......Will you at least work with us on a smaller part of this case to help out? We could really use another set of ears” he pleaded slightly, eyes shimmering, hopeful to suade the small time hero in front of him.
And again, how could she possibly say no to this genuine hero. She caved and said she would help, but her condition was that she didn’t want to be kept from her city too long. It was her city and she was incredibly protective of it. She would go along for the ride, at least for the first mission. She absolutely did not know what she was getting herself into.....

So it’s not great but here’s my hero if I was in My Hero Academia. I know it’s not really the style of the show/manga, but hand drawing this, scanning it, and then using a mediocre editing program put some limitations on it.
Hero name: Vocaller
Quirk: Sound Manipulation
Vocaller controls the sound waves within a certain radius of her. She can create different frequencies, change her voice to sound like anyone or anything she has heard before, or even remove all sound in the area to deafen her enemies
You better believe she pulls pranks on other heros, pretending to sound like a friend of theirs, a family member, or even a minor level villain.
She is extremely good at reconnaissance and prefers to avoid a fight if she can. She isn’t incredibly strong but can hold her own if there 1-3 small time villains.
She is better known for her singing as she can manipulate her voice to match pitch perfectly, have incredible intonation. Understanding how sound works really helps her understand how to make her singing better in the technical areas.

Won’t you spend time with me?
AizawaXReader Fluff
Had this idea a couple of nights ago. Enjoy
Click Clack Click Clack. That’s all you heard for the Past 2 hours. You sigh loudly trying to get Aizawa’s attention. He doesn’t budge and continues to ignore you in favor of his work. Pouting clearly won’t work either considering he hadn’t looked away from the screen in all the time that he had been working.
You readjust yourself on the couch trying to figure out how to pull him away from his work if only for 5 minutes. “You know staring at a screen for hours is really bad for your eyes.....” you mention out loud. Aizawa shrugs and continues to work. “would you really be able to be EraserHead while wearing glasses? It would be impractical” you push. “Contacts” is all he says in return
You decide to give up on that front. You leave your place on the couch and approach him in his chair. You wrap your arms around his neck and watch as he takes notes on the trainings from that day. He doesn’t look away for even a second. He stops typing with his write hand only to take a sip of his coffee as he continues with his notes. If you want him to at least move slightly, you’re going to have to be more persistent.
You take a seat in his lap cuddling into his chest. You look up at him with your best puppy dog eyes you could conjure, but to no avail. He is locked onto the computer.
You try several thing over the course of the next 30 minutes. You try rolling his chair back but he’s still stronger than you. You try covering his eyes but his scarf quickly restrains your hands as he continues to work.
You were about to give up when you had a devious thought. You have a quirk that can convince anyone who listens to do as you say. There’s a reason you’re called the silver tongue. You know Aizawa is against you using your quirk to get what you want but you have been waiting for hours already. Besides, how mad could he really be?
You move in closer to his ears and concentrate. You whisper smoothly and sweetly, your voice ringing like pleasant bells.”Aizawa, leave your school work and come sit on the couch with me”. You see the hairs on his arm stand up. It was working. He stopped mid typing and stood up. He turned around.
“Yes finally!”
Instead of walking forward he stands still. “That’s strange” you think. You get in close and whisper to him again. Before any words come out of your mouth Aizawa’s signature glare pierces you. His hair stands up straight.
“Damnnit” you curse under your breath.
“You know how I feel about using your quirk to have your way. It’s a fast track to becoming a villian”. His words stuck you like a knife. You knew you were doing something wrong. You knew you were only supposed to use your powers to help others, not yourself.
You sighed deeply and sat back on the couch. “I’m sorry....I just really wanted to spend some time with you....That’s no excuse though” you apologized sincerely.
Aizawa’s hair fell back to the sides of his face. His gaze softened ever so slightly. “Give me 5 more minutes and I’ll make it worth your while”
You couldn’t say no to a prospect like that. You nodded energetically and sat quietly waiting for your boyfriend to finish up his work
He shut down his computer and walked over to the couch. He sat behind you and immediately pulled you onto his lap and into his chest. For someone so pale and skinny, he sure did radiate a whole bunch of warmth
“I’m sorry if you felt neglected. I’ll try not to bring my work home so much so I can give you more of my time” Aizawa finally said after a few minutes of holding you.
“thank you” you managed to peep out.
“Now how are you going to make this worth my while?”
He leaned down and passionately pressed his lips to yours.
“You’ll see”
