Man All the mis-characterizations of Fresh make me really sad A lot of people are getting his character completely wrong And its starting to bum me out. I might have no choice but to write a PROPER short-comic with him, because guys you should probably know -He’s not a flirt, he’s incapable of proper emotions (except for possible future character growth in my own stories) and he only smiles and acts the way he does because he’s REFLECTING what he thinks are ‘nondangerous’ behaviors- smiling, laughing, jokes he doesn’t understand– ect ect. Point is, although I’m super cool with people having fun with my characters, the stuff goin on with Fresh concerns me a bit. The only person that has gotten his character right is @alainaprana, with my guidance I’ve helped her understand his character in MommaCQ (which is totally written by her, we just had to hammer down Fresh’s character) He’s not shallow, he has NO clue what sex is, he has no clue what normal humans act like, and he has an extremely hard time comprehending peoples thoughts, emotions, and feelings, because for sure he has no emotions. He was not CREATED with them. I know he doesn’t have an official story out there so its easy to misinterpret him but- believe me, most people do get him completely wrong, and sometimes it does make me sad. I don’t love Fresh because he’s shallow and silly, he’s actually rather complex as a character, but most people don’t seem to bother asking me about WHO he is and they just sorta- go off their own way, and normally that’s cool, except now people are interpreting fan-concepts of him as REAL concepts of who he is, and that? That is sorta what concerns me. So please remember: most ideas of who Fresh is- are absolutely inaccurate. I’m going to try and brainstorm a short story so I can at least give people a taste of what he truly is like. He’s one of my favorite characters ever written, and there is a good reason for this. Sorry just had to ramble, thanks ya’ll.

What happens to the host if Fresh leaves when their soul is cracked?

The soul cracking is BAD, but if Fresh leaves before it shatters, the soul will slowly repair itself. It leaves the host in a very weakened, almost sick like state.

So i know fresh can't be scared but if i would to think of his 'fear', it would be that hes 'afraid' of being alone or forgotten. Now thats just my opinion i don't know if its canon or not.

The only thing he really understands at this point is the ‘fear’ of death. 

Not existing is kind of terrifying, and a very baseline fear. So he can understand that, and if his life was in danger he would actually FEEL fear. It’s kind of why he can understand Geno even if just a little. Geno is afraid because he’s ‘dying’ so fast. Fresh can get that. What he DOESN’T get is why everyone ELSE is acting weird. In his mind, the only one who should be acting off is Geno, but everyone else shouldn’t be worried because they’re not the ones dying. And Geno doesn’t even WANT to be selfish and ask for things and try to make himself comfortable which confuses the hell out of Fresh because, in his mind, he’s DYING, he should be allowed to do whatever he wants because well, that’s actually understandable. Man I’ve been going off on all the tangents tonight.

Taking a Closer Look at Fresh’s Actions

Fresh does a lot of weird stuff, even weirder if you don’t know why he’d make the choices he does. The perception of Fresh amongst fans is all over the place, so knowing Fresh’s character is nigh impossible unless you’ve spent a lot of time and effort trying to get ahold of it.

Luckily for you, I have in fact spent a lot of time and effort trying to understand Fresh and learn everything I possibly can about him, and I’m here to try and tackle explaining what the heck Fresh has been up to- because why he would act how he did in these combat scenarios is a delight to analyze.

So let’s get this ball rolling! For clarity, I’m discussing Underverse 0.7 Part One here, analyzing his actions in the animation and how well it suits his character, and this post is part one of multiple. The next part is posted!

Holy cow that’s a lot of stuff about Fresh.

So, I see you know that Fresh exists. A lot of people have a lot of ideas about Fresh, and while some are delightful, some just don’t make any sense. I’m here to unofficially address some of the things I see about his character that I wish I didn’t, so buckle up folks, this is gonna be a long post.

PLEASE NOTE that I am NOT CQ. Never have been, never will be(?), and despite my best efforts I don’t know everything about Fresh. To be honest, there are aspects that I’ll headcanon the heck out of, especially in regards to his magic and how possession works and what have you, but I try to make sure it makes sense with what I DO know- some of it’s probably wrong. I accept that. BUT YA BETTER BELIEVE THAT I’VE DONE MY RESEARCH ON WHATEVER’S AVAILABLE.
