...Anyway, I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it's not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I'll be uploading it soonish now!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)

Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style, follow the instructions:

Click on "install".

Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!) If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* Sticky Header*/

Be sure to check for updates regularly, I'm fixing things as I go! And because everyone keeps asking here's how to support me on Ko-Fi https://ko-fi.com/pixiel !

To update click the Manage button on Stylus and click the check for update button below then click again to install! If you experience any bugs let me know - feel free to edit it yourself as well! P.S. This userstyle works just fine alongside Xkit & (for now) Dashboard Unfucker!

----- Known issues:

The search bar moves out of place on bigger monitors when not using the sticky header. You can adjust its position yourself under "/*Moves the search bar*/" by changing the "Left" numbers. I can't think of a way around that just yet without adjusting it yourself!

Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable!

Only two columns in Masonry view. Unfixable, I can't figure out how to add another column in smaller screens. Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen.

Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.

Solved issues: (Update)

Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still. DISCLAIMER: If you remove any of the header icons with Ublock the Account or Settings icon will disappear off screen or overlap with other icons. This is just cosmetic and the menus will still close - see option 4 for a solution to this problem!

Masonry view in searches is now fixed!

Removed Xkits new text for xkit users (update)

Added a new guide to make moving the Settings and Accounts buttons easier if you remove icons with Ublock. Example: /*If there are none icons on the right (of the settings icon), right: 120px;*/ Now you don't have to fiddle around moving the icons yourself, you can just choose the number value that works for you! Ctrl-F Search for Accounts Icon or Settings Icon in the code to find this!

Resized Messenger Chat Box!

NEW UPDATE 16/08/23, 23:55 BST v6.5: Figured out how to reorganise the icons in the header. Let me know if you have any problems with it and make sure to update your Userstyle! Some icons are hidden with Display: Block; you can hide more icons with this method!

Brought back SOME of the icons for Tumblrs latest update - Unfortunately, this does not bring back user icons for Reblogged posts! Make sure to yell at Tumblr for removing the icons as well as the horrible dashboard update here! v7.5 Fixed icons for all posts and put them back where they came from!

v6.9.6.9 (I promise this is the last funny number): Fuck Off Buggy The Clown Update + All languages support for the old header design!

v7.0: Fixed the search bar for tumblrs new collections feature, so it looks like the original search bar!

v8.0: Fixed masonry view icons, hidden the reblog icon on dashboard icons, fixed icons in blog viewport

V8.1: Fixed issue with icons not working on soft-refresh & with endless scrolling disabled - be sure to complain to staff!

Holiday: I’ll write our characters celebrating a holiday together. From Shinobu, to Kanata.

"Tanabata is very strange..." Kanata squinted at the slips of papers that were stacked in front of him. They went into the bamboo branches, but he couldn't quite understand why people went through all this fuss, simply to make wishes. Surely there were easier ways to do that?

He pushed himself away from the table, still sitting on the chair that weighed dangerously on its two back legs. Swaying back and forth on a chair was perhaps not the smartest of ideas, but Kanata wanted to catch a glimpse of Shinobu who was putting up some decoration or the other for the festivities.

"But... Shinobu... Do you have a lot of 'wishes'...?"

Rain — I’ll write a fluffy drabble of our characters kissing in the rain.  From Souma, to Kanata.

The ear mufflers on Kanata's ears were very fuzzy initially, but now they sagged and dripped onto his shoulders. Drip, drip, drip, in tune with the rain that was mostly a mild one, but that got sudden bursts where it fell in curtains around him and Souma. It was a weather Kanata loved, however, he didn't love the cold that accompanied the rain, and he huddled as close to Souma as he possibly could, for warmth and also to, perhaps, shield him from the rain.

He wasn't overly successful, but that didn't really matter, because the rain caused Souma's skin to glisten and it was such a fascinating, beautiful sight.

"Maybe we... Should go inside, soon. But..." Kanata leaned down, an impish smile dancing at the corner of his mouth. He paused for a moment, then quickly licked a couple of droplets off of Souma's cheek. "You're 'wet'."

Not about to give Souma a chance to reply, Kanata stopped with the licking and instead pressed his pink - more purple now, because of the cold, but details - lips against Souma's. "...There too."

You know, when I see fictional characters who repress all their emotions, they're usually aloof and very blunt about keeping people at a distance, sometimes to an edgy degree—but what I don't see nearly enough are the emotionally repressed characters who are just…mellow.

Think about it. In real life, the person that's bottling up all their emotions is not the one that's brooding in the corner and snaps at you for trying to befriend them. More often than not, it's that friendly person in your circle who makes easy conversation with you, laughs with you, and listens and gives advice whenever you're upset. But you never see them upset, in fact they seem to have endless patience for you and everything around them—and so you call them their friend, you trust them. And only after months of telling them all your secrets do you realize…

…they've never actually told you anything about themselves.

Translation Notes:

this song has a lot of wordplay that’s it impossible to translate perfectly. i’ll be talking about some examples below but not all!

there’s nuance behind writing 好き in katakana instead of kanji. it creates wordplay (隙, also read ‘suki’, means gap) and adds emphasis, hinting that it isn’t said in the right pronunciation — this implies that it’s a foreign word to the singer. i chose to show the former with the word “opening” and the latter with quotations.

追って追われて (lit. chase and be chased) is a kids game in japan apparently. i chose to translate it into “game of tag”, but they’re not the same thing.

if we literally translate the pre-chorus, yuuta sings “i lost my head somewhere” and hinata sings “it’s getting to the top of my brain”. but the english equivalent of those phrases are the other way around so they swapped body parts oops

dead heat is when two or more competitors in a race are so neck-in-neck that it’s impossible to figure out who actually won. it doesn’t actually mean ��heat that is dead” or anything.

バッキュン、ズッキュン、ドキュン are onomatopoeia for ways a heart can flutter because of love (more info here). i chose to translate these as “ka-bam”, “aiming (an arrow)”, and “(making the heart) throb” respectively to better convey their nuances.

中 and ちゅ are homophones, with ちゅ being the onomatopoeia for kissing. there’s no direct english equivalent so i left it as is.

like スキ , “love” is in quotations because アイ is written in katakana to indicate an irregular way of pronouncing 愛.

the fate line is the vertical line in the center of your palm. in palm reading, it reveals how much a person’s life will be influenced by external circumstances beyond their control. (source)

求めあう in the context of romance relationships means that the people involved in it are actively seeking something from the other, be it pleasure or otherwise. contrast this with 交わる from chorus 1, which has a more straightforward implication of being intimate with one another.
