He lingered around until most of the crowd had dispersed, approaching the performer with a glance towards her equipment, a silent question in whether or not she needed help cleaning up. "Stelle liked to show me your videos, I wondered if I could ever catch a show of yours in person." A short hum, adjusting the hood over his head before sighing, "What are your plans now?"

there was nothing that could compare to the post-show rush of endorphins, fading gasps and applause a sweet ring to guinaifen's ears as she had bowed repeatedly, offering a round of clapping back to the audience for their eager drive. hadn't it been for their constant awe and cheering, she wouldn't have found it in her to push further, try new tricks and combinations, as well as sealing everything the way she had with a spectacular flame breath reaching far and high. smiles or laughter held little difference to her. as long as their encouragement kept going, so would she.

handstands, splits, swords and you name it ! like any other show she had put on, this was just as spectacular. all that energy, shouting, singing and dancing had therefore left her - one could guess it - relatively drained.

towel pressed against damp forehead, head turning as a familiar voice reached her. she knew that one ! lips widened whereas towel was tossed around her neck, guinaifen greeting dan heng with a warm, welcoming smile. there'd always be something a little unique in having familiar faces among the crowd, even if guinaifen didn't pick up on them until after the show itself.

" dan heng !" she chimed happily, hands reaching upwards to straighten out drooping bangs. there'd at least be an attempt to seem a little more organized than what she was after a show. "you watched it !? oh that's so awesome, you gotta tell me what you think! i wanna hear all the deets and - oh , if you took pictures i wanna see them !"

rambling on and on, guinaifen would soon gathering her bag and its contents, stuffing it full of various trinkets. with a huff she'd throw it over her shoulder - towel still around her neck - as there'd be a few steps in dan heng's direction. smiling, still, guinaifen's head tilted to meet iwth his gaze up under the hood.

" i really need to get some stuff for dinner ! my sister's cooking tonight, and i said i'd drop by and get some vegetables and dessert... would you want to join me ? i could really use help with carrying it back." while guinaifen had a hunch dan heng would be a little reluctant to accept the offer, she would still offer it to him with a hand reaching to meet with his shoulder. " i insist, my sister makes the best food ! it's the least i could do as a thank you for showing up to my show !"

a side (maybe even trait) of wriothesley's that i need to touch upon is how he doesn't allow personal relationships to affect him work-wise. say that he has a friendly relation with e.g. clorinde outside of work, a decent foundation that could be considered a friendship. that's not something he allows to affect his work or duties as the duke, nor will it hold her in higher regards when it comes to having to make a choice. the same goes for e.g. his neuvillette, and the relation they have come to build. during work they are coworkers, the duke and the judge, and they will have their professional disagreements which, wriothesley, won't allow to sour their private relation.

when i say that wriothesley is professional, i mean that. he is so professional that he is fully capable of separate private affairs from public affairs, never mixing professional discussions with private ones, and if such does happen he will state that he's speaking on the behalf of the duke not himself.

curious, for as there would be messages dropping into the educator's phone at ungodly hours, there was something about the anonymity of the messages that ... failed to catch his attention, properly so, as the phone in his hand would scroll through the barrage of messages written in caps lock. oh, he would pity the fool he found himself communicating with. not only did he suffer from chronic idiocy, but seemed that the toaster couldn't even spell.

veritas' fridge was far more clever than this.

there'd be a sigh coming from veritas as gaze shifted into a roll, fingers tapping against the screen whereas a leg would raise and lean onto the edge of his tub (would it be too late to drop the phone into the water and claim himself lost to the deep depths of despair?).

i also feel the need to touch upon wriothesley's relation to the siblings in fontaine, for while a lot of the fandom goes 'omg he has a fatherly role towards them', that's not it. wriothesley does not take a parental role towards lyney, lynette or freminet, but he takes an older brother role as he sees bits and pieces of the 'siblings' he grew up with in the foster home. so whether their ages range from 16 or going as far as twenty-five, he will - once establishing a profound relation with either - take on the role of an older brother.

it's less about found family and more about making amends for those he couldn't stick up to when he was younger, the siblings that were sent away in his absence as well as the ones he witnessed leaving while being at the house of horrors (what i might just start calling it as opposed to the house of the hearth, for fun). wriothesley is trying to make things right, and in doing so he finds himself harboring an underlying need, want, to ensure that the siblings are taken care of. yeah, but they have the knave to do that, so - and ? while i know that we've been given a different insight to arlecchino's position as the knave and the children of fontaine, there's still the bit about recruiting children to work for her / the fatui, and it's something that doesn't sit well with wriothesley.

sure, it provides safety in a sense, but at what cost?

there's also the fact that wriothesley sees parts of himself in lyney. the older brother. the one who is always trying to fix everything. the one sticking his neck out for his siblings - a trait wriothesley barely harbored as a youngster, because he was young and found himself held back by his older siblings and the house of horrors. in this resemblance, there's also the fear of knowing. wriothesley knows how far he went to get revenge on those that hurt his siblings, and that's not something he wants lyney to go through as he believes that lyney has already been through enough. if possible, wriothesley will offer to shoulder some of the responsibility alongside him, give him a place where things don't have to be as demanding, chaotic or dark.

out of the three, wriothesley does feel slightly more protective about lyney as opposed to lynette and freminet, because unlike them he serves the purpose of the bigger brother, the one who is 'supposed to be in charge' for the others. it's a heavy burden for someone to carry, and wriothesley doesn't want him to fall into things he can't get out of.

while kaveh isn't bad at cooking, there's one thing he has a hard time making and it's boiled eggs. there's something about it that just doesn't work out for him, for no matter how many times or how punctual he is with those eggs, it just doesn't work out. he has been through eggs where the yolk has been hard but the white's been undercooked and... yeah, just about anything that's impossible has proven possible with his boiled eggs.

don't even get me started on how bad he is at peeling these things. it's actually horrible. if you ask kaveh to peel your egg for you, you'll be receiving such a beat up egg. if there's egg left, consider yourself lucky.
