I've found myself in a fandom that's like, the anti-thesis of our problem with the bnha fandom XD they hate the villain. they stick to the source material. (the villain is a plinko horse whose manipulated, chained to, and revived from the dead by another villain and is trying his best wanting nothing to do with this and naturally got a redemption moment) (the source material is literally an old story from the 14th or whatever century and the show is just heavily inspired not meant to follow it made for actual 6-8 y/o kids)
One extreme to the other XD Then again this isn't just villains this happens to, for some reason fandom loves to have extreme black and white views when it comes to characters. They either have to be saints or they're the scum of the earth and/or if the characters don't fit into these categories they will force them into them.

Narita is completing his Fate series and says he plans on going back to DRRR and Baccano. After the Kaishin reveal I feel so exhausted by queer pairings that get merch but will never get together that I’m thinking of skipping out on DRRR’s comeback. I get the sense that Izaya/Namie is going to happen anyway and there’s also the possibility of Shizuo/Vorona or even Shizuo/Celty if Narita decides to go there. To be honest I’m not opposed to these pairings even if I don’t seek them out. It’s just that I spent too many years attached to a same sex pairing that will inevitably get with the opposite sex that even as a pan person it can feel annoying knowing why it ultimately happens. DRRR had 13 volumes and SH has 4 so far with 9 more potential volumes so anything can happen and I don’t think I can go through with this feeling again lol sigh
Being apart of fandom and enjoying queer ships means that most of the time it's inevitable that the ships we don't enjoy, the ones that are het and because of that are pushed, become canon but that's what makes fandom so special. We choose what we incorporate into our fanon, so if the author makes a decision we don't like, we ignore it.
I don't like how these creators will profit from the queer implications without having to follow through but that's as because we take any crumbs we can get. I'm not blaming fandom for that, it's just the reality of capitalism.
My advice would be to distance yourself from canon. We put this great emphasis on the importance of it and it is to a degree, especially when discussing the media, but when it comes to creating art or fiction? That is us just borrowing the dolls to make our own story, regardless of canon.
Hey and take heart, at least you won't have to worry about him making Shizaya cousins.

Harvest, 2009
~
I thought this was one of the most powerful works in the Sakahan exhibition.
Harvest is about the damage European settlers caused to the Muhheakantuck River (now called the Hudson River), including the extermination of its beaver population. The porcelain waterlilies, the beaver’s favourite food, are inscribed with the names of indigenous bands that inhabited the area around the river. The coyote, while standing in for the destructive force, also functions as a symbol of indigenous resistance as it is under constant attack by humans yet manages to thrive regardless.

In one of the recent interviews according to spoilers Gosho Aoyama states for now that Akako won't appear in Conan but he will think about if Chikage should appear. While I was reading other spoilers about Touichi's role throughout the movie(some of which may or may not be what I think I read) all I could think is this should have formally been an arc in Detective Conan as a formal connection with that Magic Kaito hint. Doing the reveal of him being alive in the movie is just not right.
I wonder if he put it in a movie to gauge the reaction of the fandom because they're technically not canon, though only the reaction of the Japanese fandom will matter.
Him not planning to make Akako appear is understandable, he can't excuse her existence in the DC universe while he can find alternatives to explain Pandora.

dude i ship uchiha itachi and uchiha shisui i stopped caring since the early 2010’s lol live and let live
I was in the PJO fandom and they're all technically cousins or aunts and uncles of each other because greek mythology is incest central.
Truly I don't give a fuck beyond the bad writing of dcmk.

Far worse, in my opinion, than the famous “he wouldn’t fucking say that” is “he WOULD fucking say that, as part of his facade, but you seem to think he would mean it genuinely”
