Fedora's cooler cousin. Did that mean he wouldn't be mistaken for one of those incel who tipped their hats and went "ma'am" who came within restraining order distance? Because he didn't want that. He was gay. (Sexual orientation probably wasn't the biggest reason he didn't want to be a dude bro but it was up there on the list.)

His eyes travel up to the other performer. "I've always wanted a pair of suspenders. I have a few for costumes, but nothing I can wear on the regular."

"Happy Birthday, Rin! I got you this hat. You'll look like a real swinger wearing this!" He wasn't sure what to get him for his birthday, but you can never go wrong with some stylish headwear, right?

He accepts the gift, but his eyebrows remain up as he smiles at the headgear.

"Thanks. I've only ever worn one kind of hat in my life though." He's wrong. He dresses up. Don't fault him for a bad memory.

"It's gorgeous, but uh, what kind of hat am I looking at? Do I need a three-piece suit for this or am good if I'm only wearing a blouse and suspenders? And pants, obviously."

Examine! one of neon j's spare heads/screens

Send “Examine!” and an item or person and I’ll write an RPG description of it/them.

Neon J's workshop was a thing of organized beauty. Compared to the chaos of Rin's workshop right next door, this was a like a hospital. Clean, organized, nothing out of place.

Rin only came in here when he needed something or wanted to leave his otherworldly brother a surprise. He was organized chaos and he didn't want to bring his habits into this Eden of organization. Sometimes, however, Rin came into the workshop to bask in it and take in all the strange and wonderful that probably helped in some part to keep his brother alive. The table, the instruments, the extra parts. All of it came together to give the world Neon J as they knew it.

Speaking of the extra parts.. there was a drawer slightly askew. Upon closer inspection, the drawer had fallen off its rail on one side and therefore couldn't close correctly. So, with a sound that felt too loud for the quiet room, Rin heaved the drawer up and put it into place again. He was about to close the drawer when the contents caught his gaze.

Spare monitors.

Without even thinking, because this was simply how Rin lived, he gently lifted one of the monitors and held it gently. White, glossy and very simple, with rounded edges that made them kid-friendly. At a glance, especially from the front, it was very unassuming. Only the mechanism at the back made it clear that this monitor was for something much more complicated than a computer.

Which is why it was weird to think about the implications of the thing in his hands. This was his brother's head. He saw through this. He heard through this.

After a brief pause the monitor is back in its place and the drawer is shut and the man is out of the room. He loved his brother and he would never not be grateful for the time he got to spend with him, but the less he thought about the parts instead of the whole, the better his mental state would be.
