For the final art class we did some very rough color tests for the compositions we came up with. I went with a simplified version because my initial idea had A Lot going on and there would just not have been time, but I’m musing on finishing these better digitally, maybe. The rough was very eough and I would make some different choices in the actual thing.

Other Kadabra and Alakazam focus their psychic powers using spoons. Mia thinks that's ridiculous. Psychic powers work just fine without a focus object; literally every other Psychic Pokémon gets along without spoons. Everyone else just keeps carrying spoons around for no reason because they're stupid.

For today’s art class, we photocopied the elements we drew last time at a few different sizes (and added some new ones) and then started work on arranging them into a composition. These three are minor variations on essentially the same composition, which was what I’d more or less had in mind when we started; next time I will probably try out some more different ones.

The teacher for the last chunk of my illustration art class is a mural painter who’s having us design a hypothetical mural for a company, institution, event, etc. My first thought, what with today being eclipse day, was the 2026 solar eclipse, for which Reykjavík will be in the path of totality. We designed different elements and will be cutting them out and then laying them out in a sort of collage as part of the design process.
