ES|| Hay muchísimos tipos diferentes de amor y este cartero está preparado para repartir todo tipo de cartas a todo tipo de destinatarios! Siempre me ha parecido un poco absurdo fijar un solo día para celebrar el amor, y menos si se trata de uno estándar con unos roles predeterminados, con mucho consumismo y con poco sentimiento. El amor, de todo tipo en su infinidad de formas (¡Ah eso sí, todos menos los que son tóxicos!), tendría que celebrarse todos los días del año, ya sea el amor por la familia, el amor por una o varias parejas, el amor por los amigos, por los animales de compañía, por el planeta tierra, por el arte o, el que le gusta más a este conejito trabajador, el amor más importante de todos (y a veces el más difícil) el amor a uno mismo, siempre sin caer en el egocentrismo. Así que ya sabéis celebrad el amor todos los días! ♥️

EN|| There are many different kinds of love and this postbunny is prepared to deliver all types of letters to all types of recipients! To me it has always seemed a little absurd to set a single day to celebrate love, and even more so if it’s a standard love with predetermined roles, a lot of consumerism and little feeling. Love, of all types in its infinite forms (Oh yes, all except the toxic ones!), should be celebrated every day of the year, whether if it’s love for family, love for one or more partners, the love for friends, for pets, for the planet Earth, for art or, the one this hard-working bunny likes the most, the most important form of love (and sometimes the most difficult) the love for oneself, always without falling into egocentrism. ES|| Como apasionada de los dragones no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de celebrar el inicio del año nuevo lunar, que este año es el del dragón, y ya de paso, aprovecho para despedirme del año que dejamos atrás, el del conejo!

Me parece super curioso la diversidad de dragones que existen en los diferentes imaginarios y culturas alrededor del mundo. De todos los colores (verdes, rojos, turquesa), formas (de serpiente, de lagarto, como una montaña o como un rio), elementos (fuego, agua, tierra) y caracteres (bondadosos como los de varias mitologías asiáticas o malos como en las leyendas occidentales). A mi personalmente me encantan los dragones bondadosos ligados a la naturaleza, por este motivo me imagino siempre al dragón de Sant Jordi como un jardinero que cultiva rosas y no como un ser despiadado que solo de su sangre brota la vida.

EN|| As a dragon enthusiast, I couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of this lunar new year, the year of the dragon. And, in the way, say goodbye to the year we leave behind, the year of the rabbit!

I find it super intriguing the diversity of dragons that exist in different imaginaries and cultures all around the world. We can find dragons of all colors (green, red, turquoise), shapes (like a snake, a lizard, a mountain or a river), elements (fire, water, earth) and natures/ mind set (kind-hearted like those in various Asian mythologies or bad like in Western legends). I personally love kind dragons linked to nature and farming, for this reason I always imagine the Sant Jordi dragon as a gardener who grows roses and not as a ruthless being that only from its blood does life thrive.

ES|| Como ya sabréis me encantan los animales y los perros no son una excepción. Hace unos años tuve el placer de convivir con una hermosa greyhound blanca como la nieve con topitos negros en las orejas y ahora son “tía” de un precioso galgo atigrado, así que tengo especial cariño a estas preciosas criaturas de nariz larga y ojitos tiernos. Hoy es el día del galgo porque, aunque estos perros necesitan nuestra ayuda todos los días del año, cada año por estas fechas en España, al finalizar la temporada de caza, después de probablemente años de crueldad, miedo y malos tratos, se abandonan, torturan y/o matan miles de galgos que ya no son considerados como útiles para cazar. Los animales no son propiedades para comprar, usar y tirar, ni herramientas para ganar dinero con el negocio que es la caza. Si estás pensando en compartir tu vida y tu amor con un peludo, adopta, no compres ni seas cómplice. 🌱

EN|| As you may already know I love animals, and dogs are no exception. Some years ago, I had the pleasure of sharing my home with a beautiful white greyhound with black spots in her ears, and now I’m an “aunt” to a gorgeous tabby galgo, so I’m especially fond of these precious creatures with long noses and sweet eyes. Today is world galgo day because, although galgos need our help all year long, every year around these days in Spain, when the hunting season ends, after probably years of cruelty, fear and mistreatments, thousands of galgos deemed no apt to continue hunting are abandoned, tortures and/or killed. Animals are not proprieties we can buy, use and throw away nor either are tools to gain money with the business that is hunting. If you are thinking of sharing your life and your love with an animal, adopt, do not buy or be an accomplice.🌱

ES| Aunque podemos encontrar limones todo el año, una de las épocas de recolección de la fruta es el invierno. El limón aparte de estar buenísimo, combinar genial en las infusiones y contener vitamina C y otros minerales, es un fruto con muchísimas propiedades beneficiosas no solamente consumiéndolo fresco, sino que también es muy apreciado por el aceite esencial que se extrae de su piel.

Exprimido se usa contra la artritis, es depurativo, diurético, antirreumático, antivírico, antibiótico, anticatarral, antigripal y antidiarreico, ya que es astringente y remineralizarne. Además, es antiséptico bucofaríngeo y ayuda a combatir la amigdalitis y la faringitis. El limón también contiene terpenos, que tienen propiedades antitumorales, ayuda con los mareos, las taquicardias y las enfermedades cardiovasculares.

A nivel cutáneo es un gran tónico y también se utiliza contra la celulitis. Funciona de maravilla como limpiador, por lo que es de gran ayuda contra la grasa facial y el acné. Es antiséptico, cicatrizante y coagulante, a parte de un fortalecedor capilar natural.

Su aceite esencial vaporizado tiene propiedades contra la fatiga, la tensión nerviosa, la depresión y la falta de concentración por lo que es un gran aliado en momentos de estudio o trabajo.

Aunque ya sabéis que siempre se tiene que ir con cuidado, ya que no a todo el mundo le van bien los mismos remedios ya que a veces suelen tener contraindicaciones, como por ejemplo la acidez del zumo de limón puede estropear el esmalte de los dientes, o el aceite esencial si se expone al sol puede dejar manchas! 🍋🌱

ES|| Más ilustraciones del Calendario Montessori 2023, el cual, como ya sabréis, está enfocado en distintas maneras de cuidar el planeta. Una de las cosas más importantes para mejorar el medio ambiente es reducir el consumo de plásticos y hay infinidad de maneras de hacerlo, por ejemplo, buscar juguetes de otros materiales. La verdad es que siempre me sorprende la gran variedad de alternativas que hay a los típicos juegos de plástico. A mí, personalmente, me encantan los juguetes de madera con formas orgánicas e inspiradas en la naturaleza (sobre todo si son de madera recogida de forma sostenible y de proximidad)! 🌱

EN|| More illustrations from the 2023 Montessori Calendar, which, as you already know, is focused on different ways to take care of the planet. One of the most important things to improve the environment is to reduce plastic consumption and there are countless ways to do this, for example, looking for toys made of other materials. The truth is I’m amazed by the wide variety of alternatives there are to typical plastic toys. I personally love wooden toys with organic shapes inspired by nature (especially if they are made locally and from sustainable wood)!🌱

I don't know why bats have the bad reputation of being terrifying, I personally find them adorable. They're like mini pompoms with wings! I could spend hours watching them fly and doing acrobatics in the sky. Not to mention that they eat a lot of mosquitoes! It’s a shame there are so many species of bats in danger of extinction. We have to change the way we look at them and do a little more to conserve these special and important animals.

ES|| ¿Cuál os gusta más, con línea negra o con las líneas de colores? Segundo helado de la serie de heladitos sonrientes. Da la casualidad que también es mi segundo favorito. Me gusta el contraste de formas y sabores de las tres bolas. ¿Qué sabores creéis que son? Yo me he imaginado una bola de chocolate blanco con “lacasitos”, una de fresa con virutas rosas y la última, por imaginar sabores, pistacho con trocitos de chocolate negro (aunque por la paleta de colores que he estado usando parece más una bola de menta con chocolate). En esta ocasión, además de las dos versiones, también os enseño el esbozo con la paleta de colores CMYK (ha sido la misma para toda la serie de ilustraciones). Aunque veréis que hay colores que al final he acabado descartando y de alguno he utilizado algún tono más oscuro para las sombras.🍦🍫🍓

EN|| Black line or colored lines? What do you think, which one do you like more? Second ice cream in the series of happy ice creams. It just so happens to be that it's also my second favorite. I like the contrast of shapes and flavors. What flavors do you think they are? I have imagined a scoop of white chocolate with "lacasitos", one of strawberry with pink sprinkles and the last, to imagine flavors, pistachio with pieces of dark chocolate (although due to the color palette I’ve been using it looks more like a ball of Mint with chunks of chocolate). On this occasion, in addition to the two versions, you also can see the sketch with the CMYK color palette (it has been the same for the entire series of illustrations). Although you’ll see that there are colors that I ended up discarding and some of them I used a darker tone to make some shadows.🍦🍫🍓

ES|| Para celebrar que ya casi tenemos el otoño encima, voy a enseñaros una serie de heladitos que he estado haciendo en mis tiempos libres (he de confesar que gran parte la he hecho viendo películas de miedo… ¡Viva el contraste!). Pues como os decía, he estado jugando con el illustrator, que lo tenía un poco aparcado porque siempre acababa aplicando el color con Photoshop o de forma tradicional, así que he estado usando nuevas herramientas y formas de trabajar y probando estilos nuevos. Al final tengo tres helados sonrientes de sabores bien distintos (creo que este es mi favorito de entre los tres diseños, ya me diréis cuál es el vuestro cuando los haya colgado todos), pero con dos propuestas de acabado diferente para cada uno de ellos. A vosotros cual os gusta más: con la línea negra o con las líneas de colores?🍦🍓

EN|| To celebrate that autumn it’s almost upon us, I’m going to show you a series of ice creams I’ve been making in my free time (I must confess that I’ve made most of them watching scary movies… I love the contrast between what I was watching and the piece I was doing!). Well, as I told you, I've been playing with illustrator, which I had put on hold because I’ve always ended up applying the color with Photoshop or in a traditional way. So, I've been using new tools and ways of working and trying new styles. In the end I have three smiling ice creams with very different flavors (I think this is my favorite one of the three designs, I hope you’ll tell me which one is yours when I’ve posted them all), but with two different looks for each of them. Which do you like the best: the one with the black line or the one with the colored lines? 🍦🍓

ES|| Ya estamos casi a medianos de setiembre, dentro de nada ya será otoño… Siempre lo digo, pero el tiempo vuela! Cómo cambia el paisaje urbano! Los más pequeñitos ya han empezado la nueva aventura que es empezar el año escolar y, según qué hora de día, se puede ver montones de niños y niñas que con sus mochilitas de colores se dirigen a descubrir miles de cosas junto a nuevos compañeros o amigos de siempre. Estos animalitos empiezan con buen pie y ya se van de campamentos, cargados con mochilas y maletas, todos en su sitio, con el cinturón puesto, mirando las maravillas que aparecen entre los árboles (menos el frailecillo que va volando siguiendo a sus amigos y solo se posa a descansar. Ah! Y el hipopótamo que conduce sin distraerse ni un poquito!)🌙

EN|| We are almost in mid-September, soon enough it will be autumn ... I always say it, but time flies! The little ones have already begun the new adventure that is starting the school year and, depending on the time of day, you can see lots of kids with their colorful backpacks heading out to discover thousands of things along with new colleagues or old friends. These little animals are off to a good start, they’re already going camping, loaded with backpacks and suitcases, all in their place, with their seat belts on, looking at the wonders hidden between the trees (except for the puffin that flies following its friends and only settles down to rest. Oh! And the hippopotamus who drives without being distracted even a little bit!)🌙

ES|| Menuda ola de calor que tenemos encima!! Y, lo que más me asusta es que cada año, con el cambio climático y el calentamiento global, esto irá en aumento! El océano se convertirá en un caldo acido, los veranos serán mortales, habrá más tormentas y catástrofes, … En fin, no quiero ni imaginármelo! Si fuera por mí, me encontraríais nadando dentro de este vaso con estas bolitas tan simpáticas, pero, desgraciadamente, tengo que conformarme en ir bebiendo, a lo largo del día, una bebida bastante parecida, aunque con menos frutas y más hierbecillas que me ayuden a sobrellevar las ganas de derretirme en el suelo sin hacer nada todo el día. No sé vosotros, pero yo no llevo muy bien los climas “extremos” y no me gusta, si puedo evitarlo, gastar energía y contaminar, así que no suelo poner el aire acondicionado ni el ventilador, porque por poco que gasten si sumamos el consumo de todos… De momento, tengo un mantra para los momentos más duros “piensa en los osos polares!” Espero que aun estemos a tiempo de cambiar esta situación antes de que vaya a peor.🥝🍋

EN|| The heat wave we’ve in Spain is killing me!! What scares me the most is that every year, with climate change and global warming, this’ll increase! If it were up to me, you’d find me swimming inside this glass, but unfortunately, I’ve to settle for drinking a similar drink throughout the day, although with less fruit and more herbs, to help me cope with the urge to melt on the floor doing nothing all day long. I don't handle “extreme” climates very well and I don't like, if I can avoid it, wasting energy and polluting, so I don't usually put on the air conditioning or the fan, because no matter how little one of them may consume if every one of us puts its own on… I have a mantra for the hardest moments “think of the polar bears!” I truly hope we still have time to change this situation before it gets way worse. 🥝🍋

ESP|| No sé si soy yo o el tiempo esta un poco loco, un día voy en tirantes i pantalones cortos y el otro voy más abrigada que este dinosaurio! Diría que ya podemos guardar las bufandas en el armario hasta el año que viene pero no lo tengo tan claro… ❄️☀️🌜 Os gusta este personajillo? Lleva escondido des de principios de año, a diferencia de mi, ella ve que nieva y no piensa en hibernación, si no que coge su patinete y sale a intentar ser mas veloz que el viento! Pequeño esbozo realizado en @procreate inspirado a partes iguales en el emoticono de Whatsapp que me encanta y me tenia obsesionada hasta que descubrí los stickers de Telegram, en Piecito de “En busca del valle encantado” (una memoria lejana de mi infancia) y en @animalsmechanic 🦕 ENG|| I don't know if it's me or the weather is a bit crazy, one day I'm wearing tank tops and shorts and the other I'm wearing more scarves, coats, sweaters,… than this dinosaur! I would say that we can keep the scarves in the closet until next year, but I'm not so sure anymore... ❄️☀️🌜 Do you like this character? She has been hiding since the beginning of the year, unlike me, she sees that it’s snowing and she doesn’t think about hibernation instead she takes her longboard and goes out to try to be faster than the wind! ES|| Hoy es el día mundial de las abejas! Las abejas, junto a mariposas, polillas, avispas, abejorros, mosca abejas, hormigas, moscas y escarabajos (por decir algunos insectos, hay muchísimos más y muchísimas especies en cada categoría!!) son unas de las principales encargadas de la polinización de las flores, una función vital para la biodiversidad terrestre y para nuestra alimentación. Sin embargo, están desapareciendo! Un 40% de los polinizadores invertebrados, en particular abejas y mariposas, y un 17% de los polinizadores vertebrados, como los murciélagos y los pájaros, se enfrentan a la extinción. Esta cifra aun es más alta si pensamos en las islas. En Europa una de cada diez especies de abejas está en peligro de extinción. Este peligroso, devastador y triste declive se debe a varias causas como la pérdida y deterioro de sus hábitats, principalmente a manos de los humanos, las prácticas de la agricultura industrializada, como los monocultivos, el uso de plaguicidas y otros productos químicos, los parásitos y enfermedades, las especies vegetales y animales invasoras y los impactos del cambio climático como la subida de la temperatura que afecta a la floración de las plantas y la escasez de agua.. Pensemos en estos pequeños, pero importantísimos, seres adorables, que parecen pompones voladores, y cambiemos nuestros hábitos de consumo y de vida! Comprar y promover los productos no procesados, de temporada, ecológicos y de proximidad (a mi me encantan los proyectos de agricultura regenerativa), respetar sus hábitats, no caer en el monocultivo y plantar márgenes de flores nativas silvestres son algunos de los pequeños pasos que podemos seguir para ayudarlas.🐝☀️

Bees, along with butterflies, moths, wasps, bumblebees, bee flies, ants, flies and beetles (to name a few insects, there are many more and many species in each category!!) are one of the main characters in charge of pollinating flowers, a vital function for terrestrial biodiversity and for our food chain. However, they’re disappearing! 40% of invertebrate pollinators, in particular bees and butterflies, and 17% of vertebrate pollinators, such as bats and birds, face extinction. This figure is even higher if we think of islands. In Europe, one in ten species of bees is in danger of extinction. This dangerous, devastating and sad decline is due to several causes such as the loss and deterioration of their habitats, mainly at the hands of humans, the practices of industrialized agriculture, such as monocultures, the use of pesticides and other chemical products, parasites and diseases, exotic invasive plants and animal species and the impacts of climate change such as the rise in temperature that affects the flowering of plants and the lack of water. Let's think about these small, but very important, adorable beings, who look like flying pompoms, and let's change our consumption and life habits! Buying and promoting unprocessed, seasonal, organic and local products (I love regenerative agriculture projects), respecting their habitats, not falling into monoculture and planting borders of wild native flowers are some of the small steps that we can do to help this little fellows. 🐝☀️
