Summary: In July 2019, a marine research vessel off Norway picks up a blip on its radar. In Budapest, Nile Freeman wakes from a nightmare.

A lovely and heartbreaking fic about Quỳnh returning to the others and especially to Andromache, while still hurting from her trauma and feeling betrayed by them. The story has great character development, many interesting flashbacks and a hopeful ending.

Summary: After a few weeks spent on sea shores, sun-soaked and idle, Nile returns from a morning hike with newfound resolve.

She wants to go to university.

It isn’t necessarily surprising, but it leaves Andy slightly shaken. She’d assumed they’d go back to business as usual, Copley a reliable intel source. She had started organising all the required safehouses, identity papers and currencies. She’d never accounted for any change of plans other than this, the mission Andy thought would be shared with Nile, now.

But then she recalls Nile saying, “you’re going to spend it with us, Andy,” and she wasn’t referring to their mission, ultimately. She was referring to her life.

Andy had never thought of herself as selfish, but this is a reminder that against her centuries of experiences, Nile only has a couple decades.

And so maybe what Andy needs is to not call the shots, but instead let Nile go first and choose their next path forward.

What i loved: this is a fic focused on Nile and Andy relationship and i just feel i have to recommend it because is beautiful. We have both povs in the story, Nile’s and Andy’s and they are so well achieve, they make you feel what they feel and think. The progression of their relationship is so gratifying, i love the way they get to know and support each other. The family moments are very soft and natural. And we have a beautiful andromaquynh background. Andy and Quynh getting to deal with Quynh’s trauma. How they try to move on and forgive. The texting. Quynh appearing to help Andy in the right moment. Nile’s theory about Andy’s mortality/immortality.

What i loved: such a good alternate universe fic, that follows canon in a way that makes it seem perfectly fitting. The angst!! Lot of feelings!! The daemons are so good characterized and i love the relationship every immortal have with their own daemon. Nile! ♥ Andy and Quynh connection. Andy connecting with all deamons. The happy reunion and happy ending.

There's not enough air in her lungs to sigh in relief, but there's also no reason to linger in the sea-witch's presence when she had what she came for. Backing off, she mounts her horse in one swift move.

The witch appraises her slowly, taking in the white knuckles wrapped around both the reins and the axe handle. Her pearly-toothed smile widens, even as another ribbon of seaweed falls away and hits the ground.

“And know that when you lose, I’ll put you in the water too. Deep where there’s no light. And seven years’ hence, I’ll be able to walk inland so much further with your fiery heart.”

What i loved: such an original story. The folk tale in it is great and i like how the story develop through it, making connections with the original story. The parallels of Quynh with the ocean. The flashback of how Andy and Quynh met and fall in love. Lot of angst and feelings, but a very important happy ending!! How all the characters appear in some way and kind of help Andy. Lykon and Andy frienship. Andromaquynh love being the strongest and overcoming all the obstacles.

Hello ❤ In honor of the anniversary of the movie coming out this month, I am so excited to share a little project I’ve been working on - a sort of love letter from me to the fandom - that’s about celebrating some of the fic writers we have.  I quite enjoy sharing fic recs, reblogging them, hyping, etc, but seeing as it’s been several months since I’ve made a huge fic rec list (you can see that here if you’d like), I figured I’d compile another one (that features 50+ fics!). 

Because I really wanted to celebrate the broad range of characters, pairings, and find a little something for as many people as possible, here’s the layout/goals I had in mind:

Divide by Canon vs AU.  Canon adjacent were included, as well as pre/post, basically if everyone was still an Immortal, the fic ended up under this section.  Anything else, was placed under the AU section, for any time period, or world (fantasy, historical, or modern)

I further divided by the following pairings (whether canon or fanon): Andy x Quynh, Joe x Nicky, Book of Nile, and Other (which includes such pairings as OT3, OT5, or say, Andy and Nile, etc - I really tried to find at least one of each of these, for as many ratings as possible but they are rare pairs in some cases and I unfortunately was a bit limited in that regard).

Each fic is listed in descending order, starting with General Audiences, and going down to Explicit within each category.  All are completed status, and I included both one shots, and multi chapter options.

I strived to find fics, and authors, I have not personally recommended before, as well as ones who maybe haven’t received very many hits (>2k), or comments (though there are a handful of exceptions that are higher, and some authors are on here twice) - by now I know there’s some popular names out there within the fandom, and I definitely have some of those authors bookmarked and subscribed to, but I also wanted to help some less known authors/not as well known fics be seen, too 😘

Where possible I also added the author’s tumblr handles, if you see your story below, feel free to comment/reblog and let me know and I’m happy to add it  

As with any fics, mind the tags, and ratings, and if you ever need to know how to curate your AO3 search results, here’s some links that could help:

link in case you would like to block certain ship pairings within the fandom

link if you want to use a browser extension to block authors, certain tags, etc

link if you want to block an author via a workskin).

You are 100% responsible for curating your fandom experience and please do not use this list that is meant to showcase the wonderful variety within this fandom as an excuse to hound authors in the comments/blogs.  Simply block what you don’t want to read and enjoy the ones you do please 🤗
