So right in front of my house there's a playground and half an hour ago there were few definitely not sober men talking and laughing very loudly. They left, but like ten minutes later a car with very loud music drove by.

So I just saw a story posted by a girl from the 8th grade from my school. It's a photo of her and her classmates being super drunk in a pool and everyone's making out

Meanwhile my casual hookup and I (we are 11th graders) just decided that it's more enjoyable when we make out being sober rather than drunk

I kinda feel old, lmao

it was the end of may and I was extremely tired but also extremely in love

(this photo is literally from the weekend I entirely spend by my classmate, bc I was too exhausted after my paperwork presentation to drive home)

(I live like 1.5 hours away from our school and he lives nearby)

So one month after the presentation of my paperwork I might have found a flaw in the theoretical part and I texted her saying I'm confused and I'm not sure if that's a mistake or not and then after discussing the paperwork itself, she started comforting me and saying that even if it is a mistake, its not affecting our results and I shouldn't worry and she was texting we all this at like 11:30pm A MONTH after our presentation. She's such a good person, I don't deserve her, seriously

She's so kind and nice to me and everyone else

She knows so goddamn much, but never boasts about it

She has the brilliant ability to explain hard things easy

She supports the hell out of me and always makes me feel good about my work

She's always ready to help and she'll never use it against you

...and that was the story about my tutor aka the best person ever aka the biggest platonic crush I've ever had

so I turned down some invites to hang out and took a ride to our land house, bc I missed my parents

I get why people say richard is a bad narrator, and I agree that he is. What I don't get, is why is it a complain. Personally, I think the obscure and sometimes ambiguous way of richard's narrative is really beautiful. The blurry images and visions he always gives, feel like art. Feels like human. When he says something like 'I can't tell you because I can't remember' or 'I can't tell you because I wasn't paying attention' it felt so human to me. As if I'm looking through recollection of an actual person's memory. A story of actual people, their actual lives, actual events, some time ago. My favourite thing about the secret history has always been how closely it imitates life. How donna tartt shows us the ugly truth of life "the rottenness of life" rather some pretty lies, without overdoing it. Without seeming like she's trying too hard. It just feels real. I also love how richard, throughout the novel, almost constantly lives in this dreamlike state where he is sharply aware yet at the same time so unaware of everything surrounding him. I also think richard is a criminally underrated character, and here are his own words to show you why
