I don’t think Nathaniel knows how to use hairclips...
Tumblr media
as a hairclip wearer, this is just… hard to look at. you don’t just stick the hairclips onto your hair. the whole point of hairclips are to actually, like, push AWAY your hair from your face…
Tumblr media
idk if this just bothered me or if it bothered anyone else aswell 🤡

Penalteam (obvious spoilers!!).
If you remember me, you'll know the things tying me to ML are the Miraculouses themselves. I love the idea of a set of jewels that give you powers. But man, do I want to say things...
Penalteam. I decided to watch the whole thing. I don't care for canon Chloé anymore, she's become incredibly boring to me. I prefer Lila as the go-to villain teenager, tbh. But anyways. Oh and isn't it really dangerous that Ladybug went giving the Miraculous to all her classmates, which were too close one to another? I get that she didn't have any other alternative but idk, everyone was so clustered that it looks like a scary maneuver. I don't know if I'm getting the point across adkwjkdjwl. I liked the "battle", tho. The football match was interesting.
Anyways! The important thing. I only care about powers. And, well, holders.
Traquemoiselle.
Sabrina Raincomprix. Too obvious. She's loyal so she dog and blah. I don't really care about canon Sabrina as I feel her characterisation is rather unstable, but even with that, I don't consider this the bestest of choices for her.
Design: I'm sorry, but no. I really really dislike it. I feel it's too tacky and toon-ish. It looks especially wrong compared to designs like Coq's. I don't like how her pants look, how little detail the design uses and I especially dislike whatever is in her head. I swear any fan design is better.
Power: Fetch. It works ig. It is definitely doggy and it has a good name (it's so fetch!). HOWEVER, I feel it's too close to the Horse. This power feels like a subset of what Pegase could do. Wasn't his first appearance him teleporting to get an object? I get how they're different: Fetch, as it appears, needs the ball to touch the object first. However, as much as it is more specific and gimmicky and definitely feels dog, is still a means of teleportation. I'd like a literal tracking power more, as you know; whether it means literally knowing where someone known is or just being able to "see" smell trails.
Weapon: ball. Cute, but too small to act as a weapon somehow, or so I think! Years ago I gave the Pig a ball as a weapon but it was a bigger one. At least the ball is related to dogs. If she had more than one I wouldn't really complain, tho. If you ask me, I'd give the Dog a boomerang.
Coq Courage.
Marc Anciel. I don't see how he fits as the rooster AT ALL, but I guess having surprising matchs sometimes is good, as most of us expected the Goat was going to Marc. I've gotten to like Marc a little more so I don't mind him getting to be in the spotlight for a while.
Design: so fucking cool. One of my favs I gotta say; I really like the suit, it feels incredibly pretty as well as cool. I'm not the biggest fan of the hair, however; as much as it fits a rooster, I don't think it fits Marc. Oh and regarding Marc... Coq looks nothing like Marc ajdkwljdkw.
Power: Sublimation. I'm sorry but no. The fuck is this? He gets the ability to... get any power he wants. Anything. Then, why doesn't he wish for the power to find Hawk Moth or something? The power to inmediatly destroy the Akuma object? What are the limitations? See, this is why too flexible powers can be problematic: I feel they cause plot-holes. Besides, what does this have to do with roosters? If anything, this feels like the Butterfly but less cool: both Miraculouses can create any wanted power, but at least Butterfly has downsides (despite it being too OP).
Weapon: quill. Feels too similar to the Peacock's feathers, but obviously they have different uses. Looks like it was made with Marc specifically in mind (writing), something I don't really like. Design wise it looks cool, though. However, how does it work as a weapon? My personal choice for the Rooster was a lance, btw.
Definitely hate the power omg. If I wanted to have a power like this I'd make a Miraculous be able to copy abilities; probably the Rat as a nod to the Zodiac legend where the rat and the cat use different animals in order to go forward or maybe an AU Cat because copycats. What to give the rooster? I truly don't know, tbh. I have this but I've never been convinced. I'd give it powers related to sunlight or sound, that's for sure. Maybe powers related to day and night, literally? Controlling the level of light during the day or in a room, idk. It feels versatile enough.
Caprikid.
Nathaniel Kurtzberg. Definitely feel he fits the rooster more, but I guess the goat works just fine. Not much to say; I feel Nath's character is rather unstable too.
Design: cool. I don't like the fact that his hair doesn't change. Horns are cool. Really, I adore how the suit looks, definitely one of the best looks. The fur looks so cool. I feel it fits Nath, too; somewhat straightforward but flashy too.
Power: Genesis. what??¿?¿?0!1?¿ No, really, what? Three things: 1) this Miraculous was clearly made for Nath, considering the fact that Evillustrator had the exact same power; 2) since when are goats related to creation? Abundance, I guess? 3) isn't this, you know, Ladybug's... power??? This is just creation, you cannot even give it another concept; this is the power to create something out of thin air!!! Yeah, Ladybug cannot choose what she creates but it's more than implied that she could: Misterbug did it and, well, the charms are a thing. So why does the Goat get to have the exact same power? I don't get it???? I'm really confused. If someone can explain this to me... But hey, at least the name is cool!
Weapon: paint brush. Nothing to do with goats, too much to do with Nath, but the weapon itself is cool and original. I don't really have a complain. I would've given it a slingshot, as I've said before.
No, really, this feels so wrong to me. Tell me anything you'd like; that this is more related to imagination whereas Ladybug with luck, whatever. These powers feel like one and the same. I've never known what to give the Goat but definitely not this.
Minotaurox.
Ivan Bruel. Too obvious. Fits his strength and all. Not much to say.
Design: cool, but somewhat basic. Not a lot of colors ajkdjwldw. I don't really mind this design. Not good, not bad. Golden accents are something I like. However, I'd like Ivan's hair to change too.
Powers: eh. Meh. Resistance. I don't really get what it does. Super strength? Unstopabble object? Literal invencibility? Can't make an opinion because I didn't really understand it.
Weapon: didn't catch it. Man, I'm sorry Ivan aijdwdjkw this is too short. Someone please explain the entire Ox to me.
Yeah I think this is all. If I forgot someone, I'm sorry ahdjwdkj I'm a bit clumsy. But yeah. You don't have to guess it: I'm not happy!

...Is it me or does it seem *very* performative that Thomas makes it seem that his show empowers females and all that feminist stuff yet he seems way more willing to redeem all the *male* characters who used to be or did wrong (Alex, Rolland, Jagged Stone, maybe Gabriel and even Felix, especially considering he used to call Felix "evil" as well) but NOT the 14-year-old teenage *girl*? at this point it isn't just about the lack of female writers...
Don’t forget how...
When Nathaniel was akumatized over a crush, he simply wanted to take said crush out on a date and was still very shy around her, and when Rose was akumatized over a crush, she kidnapped and brainwashed him into marrying him.
The Gorilla is very loyal to Adrien and has his best interests at heart, Nathalie was complicit in helping Gabriel endanger the world as Mayura before she was bedridden from using a broken Miraculous.
Andre is a timid man who only abuses his power to get what Chloe wants, Audrey is a cold-hearted woman who refuses to give her children the time of day.
Luka had a very kind personality and didn’t antagonize anyone, while all of Marinette’s love rivals fought with her for Adrien’s affection.
Every female hero gets a skintight jumpsuit while the male heroes all get more detailed designs.
And all the times Adrien got better treatment by the narrative than Marintte did.
This show is rivaled only by Kamen Rider for how poorly it treats its female characters.

ALL OF THIS OMG, this is exactly how I perceive the situation.
I feel like Miraculous would've been amazing if they made both characters get equal screentime, equal character development, and equal consequences. Marinette gets unfairly punished all the time because "she's the main character" while Adrien gets sidelined and neglected by the writers like Gabriel already does to him. Just because Marinette is the main character doesn't mean she has to be on screen all the time and has to be forced into learning lessons, and just because Adrien isn't the main character doesn't mean he shouldn't be a part of the spotlight and shouldn't get punished for his actions too.
In my honest opinion, I feel this flaw is what caused the fandom to divide into Adrien/Mari salters. I also feel that we shouldn't really attack the characters, but rather criticize the writers who made them that way in the first place. Call me optimistic, but I'd rather read sugar of all the characters than salt because at least it doesn't revolve around cruelly punishing them or going on long tirades about how awful each of them are. I really don't get why people enjoy those types of fanfictions, but to each their own I guess.
Here’s something that could have worked: Make the episodes from either Marinette or Adrien’s perspective.
Don’t show them both transforming, show the civilian plotlines from Adrien or Marinette’s point of view while either Ladybug or Cat Noir remain transformed depending on who the focus is on that episode, kind of like what we got in “Truth” and “Lies”.
I’m also not really a salt fic guy, and I actually prefer fanfics where Adrien’s a hero or ones where he realizes his flaws and develops from them. I still get this is how a lot of fans cope with their problems with the show, and I get that’s what they like, just how like some fans like Marinette salt fics. While I don’t really agree with either, I still respect their right to express their opinion, unless they harass other fans for disagreeing with them, like what Plaggandadrienbondingisthebest does.

Honestly, yeah. I always found it weird how the class is so so so friendly yet Marinette didn't have any friends until the show started. It's kind of contradictory, idk, or so it feels to me.
I stand by the idea that Marinette should have been the new girl in Origins. It would make more sense and not be so depressing/confusing why she didn’t have any friends beforehand.
“Malediktator” with Adrien making the comment about Chloe would’ve also been way less offensive if Marinette had only been dealing with Chloe for a year.

Omfg all of this! I'm tempted to write about this now.
Do you think Miraculous would have been better if we had the chance to see other rogue Miraculous users instead of Gabriel and Nathalie?
Oh definitely. That's why part of the original appeal of Mayura was the belief that she'd be a separate villain from Hawk Moth and that she was supposed to be a Bigger Bad than him.
The show as a whole would be improved upon if the other Miraculous like the Zodiac were also lost and part of the plot was dealing with these rogue users while also being a race against time between Hawk Moth and the heroes to get to them and retrieve the other Miraculous first. That way, there'd be more ability to show off each of the individual Miraculous and their abilities as well as highlight the kwami attached and give them a chance to shine and show off their personalities. And it also offers the added bonus of not making the heroes look dumb for just having 15 other Miraculous easily available that they don't use despite them being incredibly OP and massively useful.
Plot-wise, it would be more interesting and more investing since it would increase the villain roster to include opponents who aren't just all working under the umbrella of Hawk Moth's random fashion disaster of the day. It'd also help to expand upon the world and show additional conflicts outside of Hawk Moth. It would also show more inventiveness in the use of the Miraculous in how the various rogues use them that aren't just the rinse and repeat "send a monster to attack the city Rita Repulsa style to draw out the heroes and try to steal their Miraculous" that Hawk Moth does.
Simple bank robberies and theft. Promoting oneself as a hero or celebrity. Revenge against someone they hate. Trying to find out the heroes secret identities. So many different angles!
And all were wasted.

It's so fucking lazy omfg. It feels like they didn't know how to implement Cataclysm in an interesting way during the fight so they decided to make him break a regular object. If you're going to commit to using the heroe's powers in every fight, then do it properly! Cataclysm is not that hard to think of, they just have to implement it in Ladybug's Lucky Charm plan and it's done. It just destroys something omfg.
I don’t mind when they have chat use his cataclysm to destroy the akumatized object… when it’s something that can’t be broken my regular means. Like the ship in captain hard rock, cataclysm was pretty much needed for that akumatized object because what else was supposed to break it? But most of the time when they do that it’s something perfectly normal that they only have him break cause they forgot or didn’t care enough to write him a better way for him to use it which is sooooo lazy.
You could easily write Cat Noir out of a lot of the Akuma fights this season and have Ladybug carry around something like a baseball bat to break the evilized object instead.

All of this! If Chat Noir were just making awful jokes and Ladybug reacted by being annoyed but not angry, like friends messing with each other, it would be a fun dynamic. I think that's what they were trying to do but they failed terribly because of misogyny and plainly not caring about consistency.
I miss S1 days and headcanons about their friendship. Fanon square tends to be a hundred times better 😭
the thing i think lovesquare stans don't get about it's critics are that it's not just one thing we dislike about the square... like, ill see posts that strawman our arguments by focusing on one thing that isn't so important on it's own or at all
like the thing about chat noir making jokes during battle for example. if that was the only problem then yeah it'd be kind of silly to hate the lovesquare this much over it. and yeah ladybug banters back with him too plenty of times. i don't think it's unreasonable for her to be annoyed with him over it but i also don't really care that he makes stupid jokes, that's not what I'm talking about when i say he harrasses her.
like i think there's a difference between chat noir joking about how he's always falling for ladybug when an akuma knocks him into her arms or whatever, which gets an eyeroll or sassy remark from her in response, to him calling her 'bugaboo' when she outright tells him not to. i think it's a retcon for ladybug to say that she loves his sense of humour since she complains about it so often but her tolerating it and laughing along every once and a while like 'okay that was actually funny' makes sense.
i don't know, i wish respecting boundaries was more normalised and you shouldn't have to explain to someone that what they're doing is harassment, but with the lovesquare i really feel like you can't even use the 'he doesn't know better' excuse. ladybug is rather clear on her feelings and what upsets her so it's kind of upsetting to watch chat noir insist she must feel otherwise and then act like he's been betrayed when ladybug still behaves as always.
idk i just mean. it's not just the jokes lol

i wish i never learned that tom is a self insert hdjsj puts him in a whole new light
yep! & animaestro was also his self-insert, so he could like, vent to every viewer about not being appreciated or whatever and then get akumatized for it. It's really .... something. And in a cute ironic twist, that ep showcased some of the writing choices that inspire that Lack of Appreciation in the first place. How did his akumatization come about? Via the Other corny thing in this ep: 🌸✨ Marinette bullying Kagami! ✨🌸 Y'know, Marinette, the girl whose character-defining moments have always been about standing up to bullying/injustice/evil, who put herself through the pain of going on a double date and seeing Adrien with another girl just because she wanted to help him and see him be happy. The girl who wanted to never speak to Adrien again in Origins bc she thought he put gum on her seat to humiliate her, and who later said "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing" to stand up to Chloé, only to follow along with Chloé's plan to essentially do the same thing with cake to Kagami simply because of 🌹✨a boy✨🌹
But y'know, being catty and jealous and mean to each other over boys they like is just how girls Are
🐸 Writing female characters is my pasion 🐸

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up.
The Navy spilled 14,000 gallons of fuel into the water on O’ahu. They said nothing for a whole week, and only admitted error when the residents on the military base started getting sick.
The spill contains petroleum, which is linked to a multitude of long term issues. Currently, residents are complaining of nausea, burning skin and headaches.
A well on the island is being shut off because it borrows from the military water supply. This well provides over 20% of the water on the island. Residents are being told to ration water, and no one is sure if the entire water supply is contaminated. We have no answers, no solutions, except wait for symptoms and pray you don’t fall ill.
US greed and imperialism will kill my people. US occupation kills my people.
They come with poisoned supplies and deadly viruses. Same story different century.

Chloë redemption where her and Marinette still have a rivals friendship but its not as aggressive cuz cmon.
Its funny.
Like chloe is nicer and they could get along but they argue over dumb things constantly--
And Chloe constantly trying to get Marinette to dress 'better'
"I saw the clothes you designed and yet you still dress 13!? Have i taught you nothing!?" "You didnt teach me anything!? And at least I dont dress like a traffic light!" "GASP. YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"
Like gimme THAT type of redemption where Chloe isnt just an Alya rip off nor is she completely head over heels for Marinette, and Marinette who still clowns her if Chloe needs to be humbled.
And Adrien and Sabrina just watching fondly as they bickering over nothing.
And gimme scenes where Sabrina stands up to Chloe and Chloe apologizes!! Thats the redemption ! Cuz im sick of only seeing salt fics redeem chloe and its only to demonize Alya.
Give Chloe and Alya some scenes too cuz..that dynamic sounds hilarious and I rarely see it.
I just want chaotic shenanigans with my fave children that isnt salty for no reason 😭

Tools I used to give to the Zodiacs before knowing shit about them!
Back in the days when I wrote in Wattpad, I had many headcanons regarding the Zodiacs before they even appeared. This included their Miraculous tools. I'm bored so I want to write about them :).
Ox: clubs. Specifically, those clubs from rhythmic gymnastics. I wanted something strong because oxes are strong, but at the same time I wanted to keep the toy theme of this show's weapons, so I decided juggling clubs would make more sense despite not being typical weapons.
Rabbit: big hammer. One of those toy hammers that are squeaky (bcs bunnys squeak), and big enough that if you hit the ground, you bounce. Because rabbits. Jump.
Pig: ball. A pink ball with a piggy face. It just seemed cute and versatile. Pigs tend to be drawn as circular hfhhdkekw.
Tiger: gauntlets. With claws. But not exactly metal gauntlets, more like cute gloves but with claws. I don't think I need to explain more.
Monkey: diabolo. Just look at this pic. It's a toy and it consists on playing with that hourglass-shaped thing using those sticks with a string. I thought it was technical, difficult and playful enough for the monkey.
Tumblr media
Dragon: bow. Yep, not a sword because I thought it was too weapony. So something more like a toy bow.
Goat: sling-shot, with a design looking similar to the aries symbol ♈, horns.
Rooster: spear, but functioning similar to those trash picker long sticks. Not meant for actual trash picking, the point is that its spearhead looks like a rooster beak and can function like one.
Rat: smoke bombs looking like small rats. I wanted the rat to be tricky so I thought these fit perfectly.
Dog: boomerang looking like a bone. Because dogs like to play fetch, and the cliché thing of chewing bones.
Snake: a whip. Not toy-esque enough I know. But it looked exactly like a snake and I wanted that. Nowadays I'd make it a jumping rope looking like a snake.
Horse: toy hoop rolled with a stick. Idk, because horses are fast and are commanded to run and they're associated with cars with wheels... whatever. The stick can be used as a real weapon too.
Tumblr media
And yeah, that's it. If you want to use any of these feel free to do so, but pls mention me somewhere or credit me :)

Been thinking about Zoé because I like the different fanon versions we've been thinking about in this fandom. In short I like what Zoé could have been! Anyways, I think Zoé would be a nice Fox.
If you've read posts from last year or so, you'll know I think Lila would be a better Fox because she's the character whose main personality trait is "lying". Zoé's also about lying and not only that, but acting too, and she's already demonstrated she's kind of good at manipulating people (giving the charm to Chlo).
She has a very flexible personality and she's not as prideful as Lila is so she'd be a more collected Fox with a non-discernible true personality. I imagine she'd just change depending on who she's talking too and I think that's an incredibly fun idea. Maybe with Ladybug she's all serious, with Chat she's playful, with Rena she becomes excited talking about hero topics... etc. She'd do this as a means to be liked (a people pleaser), as a way to practice (acting) and as a way to protect her identity (if nobody knows how she is, nobody will guess who she is). The team would eventually notice this but hey, she does a good job as a Fox, she's quick and creative and thoughtful and tends to know how to trick Akumas! So she'd be... confusing, overall, but they'd still call her because she does a good job.
Idk, anything but the Bee. I think the canon Bee is boring shdbdhxhsjw.
