Since this is almost done, have a snippet of one of the few Celia/Michelle whump fics I have on the USB Drive, based off the Day 7 prompt for Febuwhump 2024 ("suffering in silence"):

It feels akin to that of being in a church, in one of the Primordial shrines not surrounded by the natural elements but tall, stone walls and high, domed ceilings framed every which way with stained glass windows and frescoes. The stories of the bounty their progeny provide, by flesh, by blood, and by marrow; the bonds – and the rivalries – shared between man and beast; the triumphs earned in their names and the blessings bestowed upon them – all laid bare, for everyone to see. For anyone that would cross the hallowed threshold, sit among the pews that would otherwise be filled for mass, and let the silence flow through them like the tides of the world-girding seas, with only the meager candlelight to help keep them aloft.

A fresh surge of rain washes against the window panes and down the roof, loud and furious among another peal of thunder, and is gone just as quick as it’s come.

Celia doesn’t take her eyes off Michelle.

Dannymay 2024 Prompt Poll

Welcome back for another year! We've been running a bit late this time around but the poll is here, and so is your chance to submit your theme ideas for this year's Dannymay! It's time to get creative! This poll is now open and will close at the end of day Sunday, April 14th.

For those who don't know, Dannymay is a spin-off from the longstanding Phanniemay prompt challenge where artists, writers, and creatives alike try to challenge themselves to complete as many prompts in May as they can. Whether you just complete one day or the whole calendar, that is up to you!

Like previous years, we are looking for both general prompts (ex: blizzard, temper) as well as AUs/HCs for our AU Mondays (ex: fantasy AU). You can find a list of a ton of AUs/HCs here.

I've been away from CharacterHub for too long, but holy shit did they flesh the character and world creation pages out.

It's not a major priority, but I do want to try adding more of my OCs onto what I have so Airi's not so lonely anymore LMAO, even if they're not as fleshed out right away. (That's the main reason why I haven't been uploading on there; actually building up your characters beyond just the basics is a ton of work.)

Since I've been asked before if I had considered doing art based off my Berseria/Luminaria fics (or some scenes in them), and I would, I've been considering taking a crack at doing a comic - just to see how it would go.

I'd go with a premise that takes place after Celia's ep2, where two children of Lazui (I like to think of them as being actual howlines connected to Lazui, rather than the "angels/somewhat vaguely humanoid/higher beings of existence in animal guise" trope I like to inject my Lumi fics with) observe Michelle and, confused at her reaction, ask themselves "what kind of wolf doesn't want to hunt/what kind of wolf doesn't enjoy the thrill of the hunt", which would lead into an exploration of mercy, death, predator/prey dynamics and their role on the ecosystem (gradually on the downswing as it is in canon), and how growing up in Amr Qhagan (sheep country/Tarulhan's domain) has shaped Michelle's upbringing and morality even as it clashes with her displays of pragmatism.

Just a little something to get experimental with (as the idea itself isn't based off a written fic at this time).

#something something exploring michelle's desires 'to save w/o loss' and 'to save w/o pain' #something something exploring how michelle is the 'wolf' to yelsy's 'sheep' of amr qhagan #it's interesting how of the two yelsy is clearly attributed to tarulhan and how it is reflected in her design plus toto #but for being raised in the land of the ram lord sheep are suspiciously absent in michelle's artes kit #and who among her summons has a connection to the primordial beasts? THE WOLF #aka LAZUI. THE PRECIPICE WOLF #and while rams are capable of fighting they're not predators like the wolf #the wolf is a hunter and essential keystone predator in maintaining the health of the ecosystem #if the wolf sees that a prey animal is injured and/or sick it already knows what it has to do #i would've loved to have seen michelle's character arc #from trying to be herself while also contending - and eventually reconciling - that sometimes 'saving' means 'giving death' #even if the death in question must be merciful #and if you think this is me waxing on AGAIN about the potential michelle-lazui dynamic we could've had no you didn't /j :P

Now that I think about it...Star Wars doesn't really explain how much if anything has changed after the Original Trilogy, does it?

#star wars #i've been watching SW critical analysis videos on YT #and saw the story trailer for the sw outlaw game #all these new shows and games coming out #but all taking place in the skywalker era #like there's the high republic and that's a good thing #but that's not set too far in the past #and the acolyte takes place on the tail end of that era iirc #there's the sequel trilogy but that's like 30 years in the future #and in a universe as big as star wars 30 years is not a very long time #and the Sequel Trilogy is...yeah. let's not go there #like. it has to move on from the skywalker era eventually #i know there are comics that take place farther out in the future but that's legends canon #and nothing ever comes out of those b/c they got cancelled when lucasfilms got sold off #like. how are ppl supposed to do sw fics set in the future if disney refuses to move on from the past?
