Last post on Tumblr.

Started on 1st October 2018 I think?

Barely missed any days. I think I might've missed like 3 or 4 days in total.

Started this to document my thoughts and life etc.

From tomorrow on I'm gonna do it on paper. Got a cool journal. Need to buy a pen because I was stupid enough to forget mine at home.

Gonna be interesting to write it down with pen on paper. Just hope it doesn't look like garbage because my handwriting isn't always the best.

Just have to experiment and see what works best.

It's gonna be interesting to look back at it in a few years. I'm going to have a physical version of my thoughts.

Maybe I'll make multiple entries a day. Still want to do at least 1 a day.

Can't add pictures like here though.

I could print out some stuff and glue it in 🤔

I'm looking forward to it.

I am probably just going to make this account private. Don't think I'm going to delete it. So might as well leave this for the memories and thoughts.

Turning 20 tomorrow. Time flies. In less than 2 years I'm done with uni.

I see job openings everywhere but I can't apply for any of them yet.

Still have a lot to learn.

Once I'm back I need to get to work on the model.

It's looking good so far.

Finished editing the photos as well. Got some really good shots.

Can't wait for uni to start again. Can't wait to learn more about Houdini and get good at it.

I think that's all there's to it.

Maybe I'll go through all the posts one day just to see what I was doing.

Like I said I'm looking forward to starting the journal. It was fun writing these posts. Now it's time to do it in a different way.

There probably aren't many who always read these posts but to those that do, thanks. You know who you are ;)

Forgot to post yesterday. Nice.

Tomorrow will be the last post.

Almost done with editing the photos. Got some really good ones done.

Uni starts in 18 days. Can't wait.

Have to get back to work on the model as soon as I get back.

Last day of the month.

Got a haircut today.

Been watching some behind the scenes stuff on the Mandalorian.

Still no work on the model.

Last post on here will be on the 3rd. After that it's all going in my journal. Need to buy a pen for it. Forgot to bring mine.

Managed to finally finish the glass cover for the fog light. Now I have to model the actual light.

Can't wait to finish the fog light.

After that I should work on the grill and the head lights.

I don't know how long this will take me. I don't think I can finish it before uni starts.

Going out to take some photos. Weather is supposed to be good so fingers crossed.

Had a hard time with the fog lights. I probably have to improvise some things to get it done. Otherwise I'm gonna sit on it for ages.

It looks like the fog lights are more complex than the headlights.

Hopefully I can finish the fog lights today or tomorrow.

Made some progress on the model.

Turns out the details I tried to do are only visible in one image. All the other ones don't show it. Either because it's not there, it's further in the back or it's completely covered in shadows.

Either way I kinda settled on a middle ground. There are some details but not all of them. Since that entire area is going to be black you might not even see any of them especially since it's at the bottom of the front and covered in the shadows.

In the worst case I could just delete those details but I'll leave them for now.

Started working on the fog light. Finished the box part where the light is. Now I have to start the light and two small panels that stick out.

The light is going to be the hardest part. Especially the headlights.

I have no idea how I'm going to do them.

It's a challenge so I have to find a way.

Working on the model.

Slow progress. Had to redo a bit of what I did yesterday. Need to get a better reference image for that area.

Finished the hood yesterday. Even added a gab between the hood and the rest of the car body. Yk because in real life there's a gab since you can open the hood.

There are a few more areas that are going to need a gab or something similar to it.

Wanted to take some photos yesterday but it was raining. Still managed to take a few.

Going again on Wednesday and hopefully I can get some more photos.

Only got 3h of work in yesterday.

Had some issues with the test. It's negative but it's about showing proof before boarding. Might have to get another test today.

Still made some good progress. Not much but managed to get the cutout for the fog light done. Took me a few attempts but the end result was worth it.

The grill and the headlights are going to be tricky.

Maybe I'll do the entire body first and then the other parts.

The tires... Those tires are going to be a pain...

I want to be as accurate as possible. There are many tutorials out there. Been listening to them while working. Not really paying attention to them.

The grill is just copy pasting one piece over and over again and then merging them all together.

Maybe I can animate the headlights? Idk.

Could be cool in Unreal.

Have to do a COVID test today.

Flight is tomorrow.

Started modelling the Explorer. Slow progress but at least I didn't have to start over from scratch again.

Made more progress with this in 3h than I did with the Corvette.

Still going to take ages to get it done.

Want to spend at least 8h on it today. Would be like an entire working day.

Finished the turnaround for the Clone Trooper Helmet. Really happy with how it turned out.

I still can't believe I was stupid enough to forget about the exported textures.

Got all the references for the Ford Explorer. It's gonna be a big project. Harder than the Peterbilt or the Clone Helmet and the Corvette.

Want to make it as accurate as possible.

Should watch some modelling videos before.

Also gotta do the Unreal project.

Got my journal yesterday. Looks really good.

Finished the turntable.

Turned out awesome.

Now I have at least one good thing for my showreel.

I could add the Clone Trooper helmet as well but I can't open the Substance Painter file to export the textures. Hold up...

I brought in the textures for the composition...

I MUST HAVE EXPORTED THE TEXTURES BEFORE!

Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to render the helmet. That means they should be somewhere on the uni PCs.

That means I can make a turntable shot with them... Fuck yeah!

That also means I can do the Unreal project!

I tried to open Unreal 5 on my laptop and unlike last time it actually opened but froze. Maybe I can get Unreal 4.

I'm so glad I remembered this. Why didn't I think of this sooner...

That makes 2 models for the showreel.

Ordered a journal. Looks cool. Wish it was dark brown instead of light brown.

Gonna be interesting to write down everything on paper.

There's no real point in writing down everything here tbh. No one's actual reading it.

So the last day here should the last day of August. It's been almost 3 years since I started. Can't believe it's been that long.

I've decided on what to do next. Going to model the 2020 Ford Explorer.

It ain't perfect but that's the car I want to get later on.

Just hope by then they have fixed that screen in the middle.

The new Mustang and the F-150 Lightning both have bigger and better and cooler screens.

By then there should be a fully electric version too.

Have to improve my modelling skills and get even better.
