From a fictional standpoint, I personally find friendships boring. Any plots that revolve mainly around friendships bore me to death. I wish I could enjoy friendships in media the same way I enjoy relationships, but I just don't and never have.

In the sequel, Pocahontas is shorter than John S too. And I wouldn't personally call her almost as tall as John S in the first movie either, to be honest. Like it's not as big of a difference as with John R, but he's definitely more than just a few inches taller than Pocahontas.
