Super Mario Bros. (NES) PIGPOG Game Genie code! With unused green Paratroopa!
youtube
At :35 you see an unused paratroopa. I can get most of the unused stuff to appear in game. But PIGPOG seems random so you never know what will happen.

MeanMa is a female Lafury mercenary that can be recruited on Lagol town. She joins for free because she's lonely. And once you let her in she refuses to leave until she is defeated in battle. at which point she nopes right the flup out of there and leaves you hanging. Not something you want happening in a dungeon or far from a town if you are running low on supplies or ran out of teleport items. Also, stay away from Destry. As soon as you enter a town he steals gold from you and takes off.

Final Fantasy Adventure - How dare you enter Gaia's mouth!

I thought this was funny. And after multiple Windows reinstalls and downloading programs again I wanted to show that I still lived. This video is actually from a year ago but I forgot about it. Oh whale. :P

So this video is just as is. I wandered around the farmhouse and mountains a bit. I believe this is section 8 on the repaired April 18th 2001 build. But I forgot to label it so… Anyway I think it is because I was having trouble with the debug controls in NullDC and I on a whim equipped the full wine glass. It showed up in the void and allowed me to find me way up to the map. I wasn't able to repeat the method each time. But it does kind of work.
Agartha is a cancelled survival horror game that was being developed for the Sega Dreamcast by No Cliche. It's very impressive for 2001.
I'm not sure why the screen is like that. I never recorded NullDC before and I'm not exactly running current hardware. ^^;;

Agartha pics
I was recently playing the repaired April 18th 2001 build of the cancelled Dreamcast game Agartha. It was a horror title being developed by No Cliche. Several prototypes have been found in the past few years. The April 18th build was corrupted by repaired and most of the sections were made playable. I took some screenshots. The graphics are very impressive. The playable areas are unfinished and there are collision issues. But the maps are huge and nicely detailed. It's just that the snow effect is on everywhere by default. Even indoors. I also can't get the debug to work in this build and it's supposed to work. :/
The build had to be separated into several different disc images. So you have to switch between them in order to check out all the maps.

This is some kind of temple or church in the mountains. It's both eerie and beautiful. These screens are from a few different maps. I failed to mark these for my own reference. ><

Soul Blazer - Lune Dreamworld Has A Different Map
Uploaded 2/17/22
youtube
I had this for awhile and forgot about it. Ahem. Anyway, when you use the no clip code 2264-6FD4 in the Lune dreamworld to avoid the tile that sends you back to the waking world you will see that the map is somewhat different. The monster portals are all "active" but there are no monsters here. The amount of portals is also lower. The exits don't work and only the mushroom can be spoken too. Once you step on the tile that activates the dialog about not wandering around, the dream ends. You can try this with any dream. Although most don't seem to yield the same interesting results.

Biopsies hurt and I forgot that.
I haven't posted in awhile. No reason. I just... Didn't. I'll update with some posts of stuff I forgot to post. o.o
Anywaiz, the dermatologist I went to since age 16 retired. So I had to go to the person who took over the practice. Actually, a PA treated me. I had some pain and a lupus lesion that would not heal. So I got four biopsies. Two on my face and two on my scalp. It's been two days and it still hurts. Plus my scalp is a bit oozy and my hair looks terrible there because of it. I heal slow there because of the lupus.
I'll have results in two weeks. But I think it will just be more lupus stuff.

I updated it on 5/12 and it's the 19th but... Anywaiz, just an update to say I am having trouble updating. o.o Yes. Because Angelfire won't do stuff. o.o Also fixed typos. >> Lycos seems borked across the board and has been that way for awhile. It takes forever to get anything to happen. If you check around you'll see a lot of stuff hasn't been updated since 2012. I fear for Lycos' longevity. Is Neocities any good? *editia* Also, I cannot locate the Alundra debug code. It's like it disappeared from the internet. I know it exists because I used it. But no one seems to have it. It lets you view every map, including unused maps. There's a ton of beta stuff and several test/debug maps. I failed to copy it anywhere and my computer died. At the time I was working on Lufia 2 (which I couldn't finish messing with) and kaboom that was it. *editia again* >> Also, I think I had to use the Japanese or PAL version of the game. I know I had one of each and I think that it only worked on one or two of them. Why didn't I chronicle the code. ><

Recettear - Out of Bounds In The Obsidian Tower
youtube
This is really tricky to do. The red ghost's fireball needs to hit you and bounce you over the wall. But it only worked for me at that one spot. I was able to do it repeatedly here. But it was during a single run. The dungeon maps are randomly generated but the accompanying textures and objects are not. They're dungeon/floor specific and do not change. But this may work on any town dungeon floor. I only tried 31 though. I don't think the character matters either. Although the floor granted the increased movement speed for everyone I'm not sure if that matters. I'm thinking it probably doesn't since oob has happened to me in other instances. I have spawned out of bounds when changing floors in the Amber Garden but wasn't able to walk around. Once in the water though I froze for a few seconds then respawned at the correct entry point. I have also spawn on the wall in the dungeon themed map in the Obsidian Tower. The one with the crystals. But I immediately fell off and onto the floor. Recette and Tear have spawned out of bounds several times. But it doesn't matter for them as they don't get stuck. They just catch up to you. I also had an enemy rush out of bounds and immediately die in the Obsidian Tower. It was the floor that copies the mountain looking dungeon from Amber Garden. The town dungeon is the only one that looks traversable out of bounds. You can walk on the ground but if you stray too far from the wall you will fall through the floor. But this also happens in certain spots near the wall anyway. Small trees have no collision when walking into them. But they do if you hit them. Large trees can't be walked through. Both shake when you hit them and have the same "knock" sound effect as the trees from Chantelise. And the grass cutting sound seems to be the same too. Large plants with flowers can't be walked over the middle. I don't think those were in Chantelise? The models for the trees and grass don't look like they match to me either. No idea why you can interact with them. Some kind of Chantelise leftovers or content that was changed? Also, the buildings are solid. But of course you can't enter them. The fences are mostly solid.

Chantelise - Out Of Bounds In Underwater City
youtube
Just on a whim I thought I'd try clipping through those fences. It's harder than it looks. So I edited quite a bit. I had that Spongebob meme stuck in my head the whole time too. XD
Requires Wing Boots. I don't think you can pull this off without the air dash.
So you can't travel too much. You will either get bounced back to the outside of the fence or will just reach a point where you can't go on. ASt the end of the video I even fall through the floor. Sometimes if you air dash a bit you can move a little further. You can also walk right through the alleyways between houses. But you can't walk back in. I guess the invisible walls work one way.
I couldn't find a way to get hopelessly stuck. Which is good because I was in Survival Mode and actually completed it on this run.
I tried the fence inside the cemetery with no luck. The fence is atop a wall which complicates things. It seemed too high even on the upper slope of the tombstones. Plus I couldn't get the right angle and wasn't even sure what the right angle was.

Chantelise - Destroying Survival Mode Golem's Arms After He's Dead
youtube
He's dead, Jim!
So normally after defeating a boss a cutscene will immediately play if it's a first time victory or the stage will just end in practice mode. But survival mode is different. Boss stages don't end until you open the chest that appears after a victory. So that means any boss still laying on the ground can be phantom targeted or struck if they still have their destroyable body parts.
No targeting circle will appear and the camera won't change to targeting mode. But you can still hear the click. If you destroy the black wyvern horns this way while he's laying on the ground you can still get the horns too. You also get money. Yay!
The golem's movements here are really strange because his body is already defeated and partially sunk into the ground.
And of course this only works if you haven't destroyed his arms yet. You also don't get the secret chest. That's likely because you already defeated the main body.

Chantelise - Out of bounds in Forest of Miasma
youtube
So you can get up to that watchtower after all. But there are no enemies or chests up there. Plus you can go across another web and walk along the rim of the map, part of which shows up on the mini-map as out of bounds. You can use either exit from the rim. And if you fall from any other part of it you end up at the start.
I'm guessing that the watchtower platform was originally supposed to be used but it was never implemented fully. Forest of Miasma's map is small but enemy dense. Some of those enemies could have gone up there just fine. Since you can walk across a web from the platform and another web is reachable with the wing boots, the map feels unfinished. Maybe the secret chest was originally supposed to appear on the platform or a second tier of the forest was supposed to be reachable from up here. Maybe with a regular chest or more enemies. Who knows?
I didn't even notice the climbable web in the back of the pond at first. I just jump up to grab a gem and realised I was on a web.
Note that you don't need the wing boots to get to the small tower from that first web. But it is very difficult to do it without. You keep sliding down and may fall off. Quite a bit.

Cave Noire - How To Make Use Of Orbs
youtube
This is a little tutorial on how to effectively use orbs while treasure hunting. If you use an orb in a dungeon it can detect if chests contain swords, shields and other orbs. This works in all dungeons too. Not just the Orb Dungeon. Unfortunately stat ups, gold and other items aren't detectable. But even though the mechanic is far from perfect, it actually is helpful. So it may be worth not trashing an orb you picked up if you don't need the space right away. It might make things a bit easier.

Cave Noire - Opening Sequence
youtube
So it does have a story after all. Kind of. The artwork is very well detailed. I am impressed. I just never let it run past the title screen before so I didn't see it. I guess this just sets up Pentaro's adventure. Why did he travel to Woodland Town to dungeon dive? Fame? Fortune? Girls? Maybe he owes someone a lot of money and prefers to keep his kneecaps intact? We will probably never know. The manual or box art might have some insight. But I can't read Japanese. Also, I'm reading that you can pick a female character but I just started as Pentaro. Maybe it's on the rename screen? Maybe I missed something or pressed the wrong button. Oh well. I've grown fond of Pentaro and his dancey dancey self.
Found the manual translation!

Cave Noire - Game Sample (Level 3 Fairy Dungeon)
youtube
Cave Noire is a roguelike for Game Boy. It was developed and published by Konami and released in 1991. While it was only released in Japan there is a fan translation available.
It's a bit frustrating. You don't really gain levels. There's no exp. Instead, as you clear quest levels in the dungeon you will gain very marginal stats. These don't seem to apply to lower quest levels though from what I have seen. So for example, if you want to go deeper in Monster Dungeon quest 1 you can't use the stats you've gained for completing level 6 ect... Unless I'm unlucky or something I only get gains in luck and HP. This is all based on my experience though.
At the start of a quest you will be given four items. You might come across shields and swords if you're lucky. You don't have to equip them. It's automatic after you find them. Items that temporarily boost stats have to be used manually though. There are also healing potions, antidotes, magic scrolls and neat things like stairs, flight (teleports to a chosen tile), a cloak to temporarily hide you from enemies, a potion that turns enemies into lower level ones, a rock that can close up one tile of a pit and a candle to clear away darkness in a room permanently. Gold, keys and orbs are specific quest items and are useless outside of the dungeons they are meant for. When you free a fairy in the Fairy Dungeon she will make any enemies in that room disappear. Too bad she also doesn't heal you. Cheapo.
You can also push walls to reveal secret passages. If you see a "?" over Pentaro's head that means an adjacent wall will reveal a passage when you push into it. If you see a running icon near a pit that means you can just cross it. Be careful though. Not all parts of a pit will be traversable. You can also walk right over streams. But not lava! If you fall down a pit you will land on the next lower level and take damage.
Over all it's a neat game. Doesn't seem to have a story. But you can tackle any of the four randomly generated dungeon types you want in any order. As you clear quests the requirements get harder of course. Also, you can change Pentaro's name is you want to. It's in the config menu at the Guild. The game seems to save automatically after clearing a quest. I still use savestates though.
This sample is a miraculous victory too. I made a terrible mistake with the first crab and the mimic and I really thought I wouldn't make it with one little HP left. Go me. And it wasn't even my birthday. ^_^
