Just now:
Sweet middle aged Lyft driver.
He’s listening to like James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt.
(Notices I’m going to the AMC 16)
Him:
What are you seeing tonight?
Me:
(Almost forget then remembers) Immaculate.
Him:
Oh, I’ll have to look that up.
Me: I think it’s a weird movie. (Quietly muttering to myself. Hoping he totally forgets this ride lol.)

One of my coworkers noticed that there was like a mini lot of DVDs on sale at the Friends of Library bookstore and he was like, who even owns a DVD anymore. As he said that I was seriously checking out the sale to see if they had some good stuff to get and they did but I’m trying to weed out my collection right now, I can’t be adding even more movies to the backlog of stuff to watch. Anyways, I said I owned a blu ray player which I then pointed out that it plays DVDs. I just noticed that I still have a DVD-VCR player.
I didn’t tell him that. I thought about saying I had video game consoles that have disc drives but I’m glad I didn’t because then I’d have also had to explain that both the fancy “new” Xbox and PlayStation consoles that I have have disc drives and they can play DVDs. I’m not sure why but they can’t read CDs which is bizarre to me, oh well.
I’m glad I kept it at “uhh I have a blu ray player.” OH and I just remembered that it’s my old region free blu ray player lol which would’ve further extended a one sided nerd talk on home video.
Also also come to think of it, I got that blu ray player (omg I think I got it when Biden was just a VP, ugh so long ago.) because Sunrise had just come out on blu ray and it was only available in the UK. Sunrise didn’t come to blu ray stateside until 2014! And of course, now it’s out of print.
Happy Saturday! Viva DVD!

“I feel greatly for people who don’t see their own worth — who think, like Fran, that their lives are not that interesting. They are fucking interesting. We all feel, to a certain extent, like everything has to be fireworks for anything to be valid. It’s obviously not true. There’s beauty in talking about someone who’s okay that her life isn’t full of fireworks because she likes it like that... We’re all fighting something that other people can’t see, and meeting people with kindness and grace and warmth is really the most any of us can do. It’s really uncomfortable, being human. A lot of the time, it’s really fucking hard. But, ultimately, to try is to succeed.”

First football season without my dad is done. Just a weird norm I'll have to get used to.
Even worse, something I thought about during a break at work on Saturday, was upcoming is gonna be my mom's first Valentine's Day without my dad. That bummed me out.
I'm working that night. She had a Galentine's lunch on this past Sunday with friends. Maybe she'll do the same or go to church on Wednesday, idk I kinda wanna know but I also don't want to pre-upset her either if she has no plans.
Death and cancer sucks.

One of my new coworkers didn’t know I was working with him tonight until about an hour before closing. To be fair, that library is kind of sprawling and spread out but still, I felt like I walked by him a few times. Granted I’m short but still…
