I am not sure but I think I saw a post explaining how the reason Jiang Cheng has an issue with Lan Zhan is because he genuinely thinks that Lan Zhan doesn't like Wei Ying.
So Wei Ying going out of his way to help Lan Zhan leaves a bad taste in Jiang Cheng's mouth.
Cause why you doing all that for someone who doesn't even appreciate your help or alternatively, leave him alone- he hates you and I hate him cause he hates you.
And I have been running with that since.
Jiang Cheng, do you have a fear of abandonment? Why, every time Wei Ying as much as talks to other people, do you assume that he will leave Yunmeng Jiang? Are you jealous of Lan Zhan? Are you afraid of sharing Wei Ying's attention with someone else? I don't believe that Jiang Cheng is canonically homophobic. Lan Zhan is his problem. Even though Wei Ying is reckless when he tries to save others, he is ride-or-die only for his siblings and Clan. And since Wei Ying met Lan Zhan, Jiang Cheng was forced to witness how much his brother was willing to sacrifice for Lan Zhan. Maybe he thought Wei Ying would turn his back on everyone, including his family if he could ensure Lan Zhan's safety. I mean, he outright said it numerous times.

Unknown - providing a home for each other
Or:
How the start of Qian and Yuan's romantic relationship parallels the start of their familial relationship
In the first episode of the show we meet Yuan, living in an alleyway, scared out of his mind when Qian approaches him. Here's a little boy, all alone, trying to survive and stay safe. He tells Qian to go away and leave him alone. Which Qian does. Sorta. We see Qian back away and respect Yuan's boundary, however, he does throw the boy some food.
Tumblr media
Through the next few scenes of them, we see their acquaintanceship progress. We see Qian leaving a bag of food on the railing of the stairway, while making sure to keep their physical distance intact. Then Yuan getting sick and Qian draping his jacket over him.
Tumblr media
Qian is taking care of Yuan. He's showing Yuan that he respects his boundaries, but is not going to leave him alone. We can see Yuan recalculate and his defenses going down.
This of course leads to Yuan following Qian home. Qian at first rejects Yuan's approach, telling him to not follow him. Does Yuan listen? No, he does not, he persists. He shows up on the doorstep and waits until he gets let in. This marks the start of their familial relationship.
Tumblr media
When Yuan confesses to Qian, their roles get swapped. Now Qian is the one who's scared out of his mind. Just like Yuan back then, he is trying to survive, he has no room for this. Qian might not be alone, but he is dependent on himself, or so he thinks.
Tumblr media
And Qian tells Yuan to go away. Forces him to even, by sending Yuan abroad. But when Yuan comes back, the distance is still there. Just like Qian did for Yuan, Yuan respects Qian's physical boundary. But also like Qian did, Yuan provides food.
Tumblr media
The parallel continues, Yuan keeps approaching Qian, keeps showing up while being careful to not cross any boundaries. He does tease, but he doesn't cross.
(The intent here is different of course. Where Qian did not seem to have the intention to take Yuan in, Yuan wants nothing more than for Qian to be with him, which is reflected in the actions they took/take)
The last couple of episodes we have seen Qian's brain work overtime and we are currently at the point of the show where we can see Qian's defenses slowly lowering.
Slight spoiler after this. (It's part of the preview for the next ep though)
Where the cause for Yuan to follow Qian was the jacket, the cause for Qian to go after Yuan is yet to come to fruition. I'm suspecting it to happen in the next episode, based on the preview.
Tumblr media
I think there is a big possibility that the parallel continues. That Yuan doesn't yield immediately, but that it's going to take Qian expressing what he wants, aka persisting. And that Yuan accepting and letting Qian in, is going to mark the start of their romantic relationship.

God usually when I don't like a reaction channel I tend to just move on.
But there's this one kdrama reaction channel reacting to queen of tears and I have tried and dropped most of his reaction series but I still give it a try every time I like a new one cause.... I gotta.
But God every fucking time it's such Straight Guy™ reactions it pisses me off... Like noooo don't talk about him or her like that.... Weirdo.
I guess I am sticking to the two I like and just them because they actually think before speaking on it .... God why do I even do this to myself.
YouTube needs to come out with a block channel option so fast I can't.

I don't think so.... Like better decisions with people he works for? Can he trust them? His family got into the issue because they trusted people and also he's not even conscious long enough to know who to trust.... So I don't think that would have worked out.
It hurts his family but it does seem like the last option especially since there's no one else he can trust and he got busted while he was working on a plan. (Stashing away the medicines)
Am I the only one not feeling bad about the grandfather dying? Like I feel bad for the family and the fact that they have to go through this while haein is sick, they are ousted from their home(because he wouldn't let them live outside and have thier own properties btw) and then he while feeling better and gaining more strength just decides to die. And I understand that he was trying to help his family and what not but all of this is his making. And he has a house full of staff that are literally dedicated to the family and he didn't even try to contact anyone before making this decision? I don't know he was very useless as the head of the household and the family he created. He made them reliant on him and couldn't even take responsibility when shit went down

Regardless if this was intentional for this reason, I think it's smart to have Qian play with lighter after having learned about San Pang and Lili since he is a former smoker because, to me, he is thinking about how nice a cigarette would be to calm his nerves.
Tumblr media
Also, I liked several moments about the Lili and San Pang reveal like that Qian saw very visible and physical markers of Lili and San Pang's relationship because it's a nice comparison to the soft touches that Yuan gives Qian (and that he shrugs off).
Tumblr media
Hickeys are slightly aggressive compared to the passive domesticity that Yuan and Qian exhibit by cooking for each other and laying in bed. Hickeys cannot be denied unlike all those other forms of intimacy. They are obvious. They mark the flesh.
Tumblr media
I appreciated that Lili did NOT want San Pang to admit their relationship.
Tumblr media
And that San Pang didn't look Qian in the eye when he said it, which is the first time San Pang hasn't looked directly at Qian.
Tumblr media
But Lili can look Qian in the eye because SHE went after San Pang first. SHE initiated this relationship. Lili states that San Pang protected her, that San Pang has been there for her, and she likes him, which sounds familiar.
Tumblr media
Finally, even if no one admitted it, Qian figured out that everyone knew but him, and even if they weren't all told directly by Lili or San Pang, they knew.
Tumblr media
And that's what Qian states he is actually pissed about - That everyone knew, and he had to find out from this very visible display of physical intimacy.
Tumblr media
Yuan knew and approved. Yuan even states that San Pang treats Lili well. So even if Yuan wasn't told, he figured it out.
Tumblr media
Once again, everyone knew what was happening but Qian.
Tumblr media
Everyone figured it out but Qian until he saw the physical markers of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone realized the obvious.
Tumblr media
Everyone knew.
Tumblr media
But him.
Tumblr media
And he didn't.
Tumblr media
Until he got an aggressive reminder
Tumblr media
Of exactly what everyone knew all along.
Tumblr media
Everyone.
Tumblr media
God, a cigarette would be nice right about now, huh?
Tumblr media
Or a good parallel.

I truly cackled when Yuan went from playing it cool to leaping out of his seat to clearly state that Qian was his property.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at Qian. Zero pushback.
Tumblr media
And Xiong corrects himself immediately. Lol
Tumblr media
This right here is when Qian started wondering if he should reiterate his disinterest in Yuan on another fishing trip.

Okay I have a slightly different take on this but very much the same feels.
So I am not sad grandpa died but I am sad that the family had to face that loss. And not just because Haein is sick during this period.
I do agree that he was a shitty father. He's literally the reason his family is broken.
His eldest son was kicked out because he would rather believe his mistress than his son.
Him and Beomja are constantly fighting and while she doesn't have tact and let's be honest not the most believable personality when it comes to this topic he still has too much trust in his girlfriend who he definitely had before his wife died. (So cheating bastard) his relationship with her is ruined because of his own actions. Despite how much she loves him but still feels betrayed and hurt he would cho6se to keep that woman.
His middle son is absolutely useless and he knows it too. Now he's not dumb dumb, cause when you take the remaining family he's the smartest or at least the calmest after Hae-in, if not smart in his own decisions he is at least willing to listen and think things over. But it doesn't matter because his voice holds no power and so he has no confidence to try to bring any power to himself anyway, he is satisfied with the way life is and maybe even prefers to take a backseat because his family is that turbulent. He has more of a Survivor mentality i would say.
I forgot the himbo's name but Hae-in's brother. He's a total idiot but it's not like his grandfather does anything to change that other than scream at him. There were no pointers shared, no mentoring provided. If you don't explain the basics to someone you can't just expect them to ride into proper skills. (His mother also plays a part in overprotecting him because we have seen how he is actually willing to learn if provided motivation.)
They all depend on him cause he never gave them the opportunity to grow and not just that. He squashed any confidence the remaining family had. Choosing to play house with gf instead and further pushing down his own family in turn on importance especially when he signed the guardianship.
The only reason Hong Hae-in turned out okay was because from the start she had no one to lean on. Or well she had someone and then she was stripped of it because of an accident.
She was in cold waters and while physically saved, she had to mentally guard herself hard to make it to the top.
And the grandfather did show appreciation to that but again that was all her proving herself worth the affection she received at all points.
Now comes the death part. The reason it is sad is because he didn't kill himself as an easy way out. He had to kill himself because this was the only way out.
He wasn't going to get better, he was caught while hiding the pills, he was not conscious for long enough to get any actual help. Eunsong sucks but his mother is smart, she terrifies him now that he sees the real her because she did play a long con.
20 years, she played the helpless victim for 20 years to perfection. Never overpaying into dramatics of I am too pathetic but keeping a nice balance we saw at the start. She was steady and that's some respectable shit.
But also I don't agree with the he was completely useless as the head of the family. He raised them pretty shitty but he provided the rest.
He was their support pillar. He did build shit from scratch and made it high enough for them to be comfortable. He couldn't be a good father but he kept the company up until he was old and reliant on others enough that he could be easily blindsided. Cause again at this point the man is sick, on most days he can't even join the family for dinner, his health only deteriorates. Probably cause of ms.gf. so I do think that this shit wouldn't have happened if well for one his family relationships where's this broken (courtesy of himself).
And in the moment he died, it was the only thing he could do. Because he was not in his right might for long enough to take any action and even if tried to take any action in the period he did have his right mind, she would simply ruin it back when he was lost again.
And the only thing that would have helped his family would have been if she couldn't control things via him. So he killed himself. Which sounds very sad when you compare it to the way he is talked about. I know we don't get to see a lot of that support pillar in the show because the show starts when he's already a jaded man with little life.
But again, his death isn't what makes me sad
My heart just hurts for Beomja and her unresolved conversation. Like yes the whole family is upset but I feel sad just for her. Throughout it all she tried her best, she took all that came her way to make him see shit. Even though it didn't work and the worst thing was that she didn't even get to reconcile with her father.
Once again seeing those posts about people defending hyunwoo or hating hyunwoo and dropping the show because he celebrates the news of Hae-in dying.
And I think both are like unnecessary.
There's no need to defend Hyun-woo because despite the reasons and history that made him react like that, it's still a very shitty and fucked up way to react.
Like even the show is aware of it.
The jokes about it aside, it's never brushed off as something that is fine and not fucked up.
It is played up for laughs but even with that, the characters are aware that it's not right.
Hyun-woo himself knows it and calls himself out for it, his mother berates him heck everyone who knows but his friend would berate him for it.
He doesn't expect for it to be forgiven either, I think he doesn't forgive himself either.
Do I think that Hyun-woo reacted the way he did, because it really didn't settle into his head how bad the situation really was and because he was already preoccupied with how to get out of the relationship without ruining his own life thoughts And once he realised he was miserable?
Yes.
But also not a good enough defense, that shit be heartbreaking. But again not enough since he does make up for it in more ways than one. So I don't consider it something completely irredeemable.
It's a work in progress.
Even Hae-in has her wrong moments of course but she was not celebrating the possible death of Hyun-woo so it's not as bad.
But there's a genuine need for improvement and they both know it and hopefully get to work it after eunsong is fucking dead and Hae-in is healed.

You ever just wanna be in a relationship but like as a third.
Like you hangout sometimes, occasional kisses on the forehead and maybe lips but that's it.
And sometimes just sometimes you can just stick around In the room even if they are fucking and not have to join in.
So you are like .... Swing by third.... It's not a full time relationship but like once a month or biweekly relationship?
Like even if you live in the same house... It's like okay you both/or more can do whatever couple stuff you want to and sometimes I join in and we do it together... But not like on a regular basis....
Is there a word for that?
Does that put me in the arospec? I am always so confused.... Like I don't have enough confusion regarding if I can actually claim myself to be asexual... Because I would fuck... But like occasionally except I don't know... Same with romantic experience.
I want it but I don't really want it.. but sometimes it would be nice.... I don't know...
I think I am sure I am demisexual but I don't fucking know.... This sexuality stuff is hard...

I am guessing he has social skills because of wei Ying and then it got refined into proper social skills because lan zhan.
His sweetheart personality is all Wen Ning though actually fuck the social skills might be Wen Qing too....
Well either works lan sizhui is lan sizhui.
"Lan Sizhui is just like Lan Wangji" "Lan Sizhui is just like Wei Wuxian" He's literally just Wen Ning with social skills guys.

Theory that Qian sent Yuan to US because he would be better accepted there and have a better life since US especially New York does seem more accepting of queer identifies so Yuan would be safer there as a gay man that with him. (ignoring the fact that he had been saving for that much before to give Yuan much better opportunity to be successful in life)
Because he wanted Yuan to move on from himself(lol) and not just change and stop being gay. Since even his primary concern with yuan being gay or in love with him isn't the fact that Yuan is Gay and in love with him but that Yuan would have to suffer because of those feelings.
Like even the idea of Yuan being in 1 sided love with someone else causes Qian so much pain, because "doesn't it hurt?" to not be loved back?
You know what, Qian is really serious when he send Yuan away just so that he could forget the feelings he bore, but he's also really funny for choosing to send him to US out of all the available options. Sir? You do understand fully where you're sending your gay ass brother, right? Sir? Sir?
