Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

aspecs: i've been thinking a lot lately about the "ace people can still have sex in a relationship/aro people can still be in romantic relationships" sentiment and the logistics of being aspec in relationships in general. obviously, the predominant sentiment is that you should be able to have a relationship where the other person will be happy without having sex/being romantic with you. if you feel comfortable sharing in tags/replies/reblogs/asks/whatever, though, i'd really like to hear people's experiences with sex/romance in relationships as an ace/aro person. have you found it generally possible to have a relationship with an allo person when you're ace and don't want to engage in sex? what are people's experiences being aro and being in relationships (labeled romantic or otherwise) with alloros? reblogging for reach is appreciated and any related experiences you feel comfortable sharing are completely welcome <2

idk if anyone else noticed this but iirc jimmy was the first to die in Evo smp to a creeper.

and now, in the series where the watchers are most active again, giving secrets and some version being the face of the secret keeper, the canary curse has changed.

i still think jimmy has the canary curse, because it was his death that kickstarted bad things happening. lizzie died to the void and went unnoticed for a while except by joel, nothing immediately happened signifying danger after her death. one lonely coal miner leading the group tripped and fell into a cave she was never meant to enter, and they could not pull her out. some say she is still falling.

when jimmy died however, in true canary style, mumbo died straight after, then came the zombie plague, etc etc until the end of the season. jimmy’s death was the warning of danger, lizzies was a reminder that *solidarity* is important. nobody should be alone in the mines.

I’ve been thinking abt this a lot and I think the reason that being asexual vs. being celibate is so incredibly different in how people react is because one is seen as a self sacrifice. Like ‘wow, you’re so great for denying yourself something’, versus ‘wow, you freak, you can’t even understand sex/you just need to try it/you’ll change your mind one day’. Idk man

I need you guys to realize that "Favorable Aspecs tend to get ostracized from parts of the aspec community because of their favorability towards romance and sex making people claim that they are not really aspec." and "Repulsed Aspecs tend to get ostracised from parts of the aspec community because they are often conflated with being romance/sex negative and tend to get thrown under the bus when fighting against aphobic talking points" can COEXIST. one does NOT cancel out the other. both Favorable and Repulsed aspecs have their own troubles in and out of the community.

saying "nooo Favorable people can't be hurting repulsed people because it's actually repulsed people hurting favorable people" is just very black and white thinking and pretty naive. We can talk about how some Repulsed people attack favorable people and how some Favorable people attack repulsed people. like it's allowed for them both to be talked about. one existing doesn't mean the other magically doesn't exist. situations are more complex than there being one good side and one bad side. it's usually a mix of good and bad people on both sides and we need to understand that if we want any progress to be made. if we ignore one sides pain then we fix nothing.
