listen, there is absolutely nothing that gets me going like mutual seemingly unrequited pining like? i live for both people losing their minds over the other person in bitter silence. savoring every single accidental brush of their fingers, elbows, thighs, every stray glance, memorizing every gesture or expression they catch while the other isn’t looking, all while being absolutely convinced that it’s one-sided only to finally!! finally find out it wasn’t in a triumphant moment of bliss after years and years of delicious, soul-rending, torturous, heart-wrenching pining. i literally don’t care about the fact that this trope is predictable af and always plays out the same way i will still go wild over it every single time like they’ll be doing the same reveal scene i have seen a million times and i’m still on the edge of my seat gasping “are they gonna kiss???”

The sisters are catapulted into action when they, disguised as Valkyries, must save Leo from an island of gorgeous warrior-maidens; Phoebe and Paige face off with a hungry Spider demon that emerges to feed upon Piper; Phoebe accidentally transforms into a genie; and magical go-go boots transport Paige back in time. All while someone is after Wyatt which will turn him evil, unless the sisters can find them in time with the help of the time traveler, Chris.

Nemeton - the root of all evil
So, first of all, I need to clarify, that I don’t think of the nemeton as an evil being, it’s more about the Nemeton being one of the main reason anything happened in the Beacon Hills.
So, the Nemeton calmly existed untill 1950 as a full grown tree. We know this because Noshiko buried Nogitsune under its roots somewhere in 1943. Actually, we can’t say it was exactly “calm”. There were a lot of death in one short period of time (japanese camp prisoners, who didn’t have enough drugs to treat pneumonia, people got angry; also the Nogitsune was unleashed, it killed americans).
Then somewhere between 1950 and 2000 it was cut down. This time fraim is used, because we know that when Noshiko was there, the Nemeton was still strong, and she could imprison Nogitsune. And before 2000, because when Paige died (around 2002-2005) there already was a basement in its roots, one that wasn’t observed for a long time. Somewhere in this period of time Eichen House was established as supernatural prison, with all the protection (this isn’t directly connected to the Nemeton, but if I should take a guess, some of their protection has Nemeton’s wood in its base).
My best bet is that it was cut down when Talia was already the alpha, and Deaton was the emissary. The reason is that he craved wood box from the Nemeton’t tree (the one where they held Talia’s claws). Or, at least, any other druid did it, because roots had craved symbol of druids. Why they desided to cut it down is never adressed, but we know that after it was cut down, it fell asleep and everything became calm.
Right untill Gerard and Deucalion came there. From this point of time, there begins instability. Gerard killed a lot of humans and werewolves; Derek unknownlingly sacrificed Paige (who was bitten by Ennis); Deucalion lost his mind; Kali, Ennis and Deucalion killed off their whole packs; Julia/Jennifer used the Nemeton to stay alive long enough to be found and saved (thanks to Derek and Paige, Nemeton had this powers); the women who could predict things died in a car crash the day Claudia Stilinski died (the one who told Sheriff go to his wife in hospital); great Hale fire, that killed eight people and left Peter comatose (and if Peter died, the count of dead would be nine, kind of magical number, so it could be considered a sacrifice); Meredith learned to use her banshee gift under Valak instructions with help of Lydia’s Grandmother and it backfired spectaculary, leaving her almost insane with voices in her head (and she met comatose Peter); Dread doctors appeared and began their experiments (chimeras and Theo); Valak opened his third eye and was closed in the Eichen House (probably). All those events happened in the spree of few years about 8 years prior the show, and nothing supernatural ever happened right untill Laura’s death (because Stiles said, that nothing interesting ever happens in Beacon, and he is #sheriffskid, he knows).
Then Laura’s death, we never knew if it was really Peter who killed her, and where she was killed. We don’t have enough information to go with, so let’s just count it as a begining af new cicle of instability. Peter’s death and ressurection also is in this category, not big enough on the scale of events, but still is important. New werewolves appeared, new alpha, but it still never had anything to do with sleeping Nemeton, right before the 3rd season.
The season begins with someone ripping off small young seed, that somehow began to grow. From what it looked like, the seed couldn’t be elder then one or two years, so it began to grow somewhere after Laura’s death, and it could be a correct speculation, that she was killed there and it allowed the Nemeton to ressurect. At the same time it’s still a possibility, that it began after Paige death or any of the events that happened prior. For whatever reason, someone didn’t want it to have a new growth, it was convinient for someone to have it almost dead. There are actually only three stakes who could do it: Deaton, Morrel and Julia/Jennifer. Right after that sacrifices began, 12 people were sacrificed, and three sacrificed themselves to save Guardians. Theese 12 sacrifices could be considered “evil”, because they were held so Julia/Jennifer could have power level up and kill Deucalion. The energy of theese sixteen sacrifices was enough to enwoke the Nemeton. Plus, the final blow, Peter killing Julia/Jennifer right on the Nemeton.
So, we have another round of “way too many people are going to die”: Nogitsune’s kills; Dead pool; the Dread Doctors and the Beast (and the Nemeton using Parrish to bring bodies, well, probably it’s not derectly the Nemeton, but it was still connected); the Wild Hunt (that didn’t make sense, but still); and the last but not least - the war between hunters and supernatural.
Once Is Chance, Twice is Coincidence, Third Time Is A Pattern. It’s the third time when mass death appears after some kind of thing happaned with the Nemeton. This tree is part of a reason all of thees happened. Of course, at the end it comes to people’s actions and choises, but this thing really affected everyone and everuthing.

I think a lot of people don’t think about how disconnected Theo Raeken would actually be with real life.
Think about it. He spent a lot of his time presumably forced to stay underground with only a few barely-human people around him until he was almost eighteen, years in which he was focused on mainly becoming powerful and having experiments done on him to make him into the chimera he was. The only time we saw him outside of the Dread Doctors’ tunnels was in a flashback of him skateboarding, which turned out to be a lie anyway, so there’s no real proof that he was ever out there.
Granted, he may have been studying some of the mannerisms of normal teenagers since he had a clear mission in mind, but there’s really no way to be entirely natural about it if you haven’t had firsthand experience. There was always something off about him shortly after he re-emerged back into Beacon Hills - Stiles saw it, and I’m sure some viewers did too, he was too smooth and perfect.
So why would it be any different after 6A when he came back from hell? All of his life he’s been fighting one thing or another, so even after his development, there are probably a whole ton of things that he doesn’t understand. Would Theo know what music he liked, not having grown up with a lot that he can remember? Does he have a certain type of person he’s drawn to? Does he have any skills other than the manipulation he was taught?
I think we all like to assume, whether we thought about it or not, that Theo is well-adjusted. The reality of it is that he had a murky childhood where something was clearly wrong, he spent his adolescence isolated, and the rest of his time on the show was spent trying to survive. We’ve really never seen him in a situation that wasn’t life-or-death in some way or another, so it’s something to think about: how far does his disconnect to society and life go?

You see, death doesn’t happen to you; it happens to everyone around you. To all the people left standing at your funeral, trying to figure out how they’re gonna live the rest of their lives… without you in it.
