SORRY FOR THE LONG READ BUT ITS WORTH IT I PROMISE

Why would y’all let the devil deceive y’all so easily? God promotes self love (Song Of Solomon 4:7) The whole Bible is about love. Did you know hating yourself hurts God more than it hurts you since he made you in your mothers womb. (Psalm 139:13) He said you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) So he wants you to love yourself!

You might try to use this verse against me, it is actually the 2nd commandment of the 10 commandments. Matthew 22:39 “A second is equally important: ‘love your neighbor as you love yourself.’” I had to study this verse a bit and I prayed on it asking God to help me figure it out and help y’all know what it’s talking about. I got some help from Doug Britton Books on the web. A lot of people think that God is saying love yourself first before you love others or love others just as much as you love yourself and really..he is talking about both.

“You might say, “But I hate myself” or “I hate my body.” That may seem to be true on one level. Many of us are disgusted with ourselves or our bodies. Some are even self-destructive but Jesus wasn’t talking about feeling love for ourselves. But here is the part that the devil is trying to trick you about, the devil does not want you to love yourself but he does want you to at the same time but not in a good way. Let me explain. It is so easy for us to focus on our selves, whether it be about our accomplishments, our popularity, our power etc. That’s what God warned us about! He doesn’t want us to love our selves to love ourselves so much that we become boastful but to love ourselves as much as he loves us! He showed us how much he loved us in John 3:16

Now, the devil..Satan he wants you to love yourself to that limit. He wants you to love yourself so much that you sound entitled when speaking and that’s not in the Bible but it’s common sense! Think back to I time where you had encountered somebody who was wrapped around themselves, annoying right? That’s what God hates, he hates it when people be wrapped up in themselves. That’s why it says “love thy neighbor” because thou shouldn’t be all up in themselves.
