Headcanons for Stephen and America

- part 2

(Doctor Dad & Multiverse Daughter)

Much like Stephen has an encyclopedia of music in his mind, America has an encyclopedia of flowers and plants. Every universe she visited, she'd learn as much about the plant life as she could. When America started staying at the Sanctum Stephen helped her set up a garden on the roof, which is now full of all her favourite flowers, it's one of Americas favourite places and reminds her of home.

She constantly rambles to Stephen about plant life, explaining everything she knows to him, he doesn't really know much about them but he hangs onto her every word, giving her his full attention, admiring how happy she is as she talks. He even does some research in his spare time so he can better understand and occasionally tries to help her garden.

America will make him flower crowns, showing up randomly while he's busy meditating/reading and just place them on his head with a smile, he makes no attempt to stop her and will often forget/not realise he's wearing them. This earns him some confused looks from fellow sorcerers at first, but they just don't mention it and eventually stop noticing as it becomes a pretty normal occurrence. Stephen keeps them all, even casting a preservation spell so he can keep them safe. (Wong has definitely took photos)

Stephen makes dad jokes (he does you can't convince me otherwise)

He constantly makes terrible jokes and puns. He thinks they're funny, America and Wong disagree, but where Wong just looks unimpressed America will chuckle or give a small smile (They're only funny cause they're so bad). Stephens' favourite jokes are dad jokes. He saves those for emergencies, otherwise known as for whenever America's upset. She finds them annoying but can't help laughing at the stupidity of them. They never fail to make her smile, especially when Stephen tells them in the most dramatic way he possibly can, and Stephen uses that to his advantage whenever she's feeling down (anything to make his kid smile).

America makes fabric bracelets when she's bored. She thinks they're cute. She makes one for Stephen and Wong along with a few for her sorcerer friends. Wong accepts it with a gentle smile and a thank you. He wears it daily, making the star child smile. Stephen accepts it with a stupid grin that stays put all day long, and casts some spells to make sure it can never be lost or broken, he never takes it off, wearing it wherever he goes, that same goofy grin making an appearance whenever he sees it on his wrist.

Whenever America is sad, Stephen will make butterflies 🦋 to cheer her up. They'll sit for as long as she needs watching the butterflies, until she feels better/ready to talk.

America has stars on her jacket for her parents and her home. Eventually, she adds a few small blue butterflies for her dad. When Stephen notices he tears up a little, honoured to be worthy of such a gesture, he gives her a soft smile, which she returns (neither of them mention it).

When she's having trouble sleeping, Stephen will sit with her, making projections of all the different galaxies explaining all the star systems of his universe until she falls asleep.

These next few are inspired by one of my favourite childhood movies, Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium, severely underrated if you ask me.

Stephen shows America Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium, and it quickly becomes one of her favourite films. Whenever she's ill, they'll sit and watch the film practically on repeat till she's better.

Americas favourite scene is the hospital scene, so Stephen bought her glow in the dark paint so she could have invisible stars all over her room that would shine as bright as her smile at night.

Relating back to my first headcanons post (piano playing), Stephen will play the films score with America whenever she asks or simply to cheer her up after a bad day.

After seeing her love for the film, Stephen bought her a sock monkey, and she cherishes it as if it's the most precious thing in the world. (I realised after writing this America probably hasn't had a childhood teddy/toy since she opened her first portal 7 years ago)

Some Headcanons for Stephen and America

(Doctor Dad & Multiverse Daughter)

Stephen can't cook, except for simple meals, but he's really good at baking. I like the idea of him lowkey being a stress baker and making random pasteries in the middle of the night. After MoM, he teaches America what little meals he knows and how to bake. It becomes one of their favourite things to do together.

America is scared of thunder and lightning cause it looks and sounds like her powers, giving her flashbacks of all the times she's been afraid and ripped out of whatever universe she's hiding in. Her first thunderstorm after MoM, she runs to find Stephen in the library, and he hugs her while reading to her until she falls asleep in his arms. They stay like that till the storms over (until America wakes up).

Inspired by the Star Wars books, Anakin used to sleep on the floor next to Obi-Wans bed out of fear of him leaving, America Sleeping on the floor next to Stephens bed afraid she'll wake up in another universe after a nightmare, she makes sure to be there after he falls asleep and before he wakes up, but when he finds out (he wakes up in the middle of the night for whatever reason, maybe Cloak woke him to tell him about America idk) he moves her room next to his and uses magic to put a door joining the rooms together so she can open it when she sleeps allowing her to have him in her sight.

Because of how young she was when she first travelled the Multiverse, she's behind on reading and writing, so Stephen takes the time to personally teach her and finds her books he thinks she'll like. She has a whole shelf full of books gifted to her from him, including some of his (and Donnas) childhood favourites.

Along the same lines, he shows her all his favourite records and info dumps about every song, album and band, he expected her to ignore it or get annoyed like most people but instead she asks questions and even quizzes him like his co-workers used to do while he was in the operating room. She thinks it's cool how he can remember every detail and uses him to find songs she can't remember the name of (she'll hum the tune or tell him the lyrics she can remember).

They have movie nights pretty much every week, unless Stephen's busy, where he helps America catch up on all the media she's missed from his universe.

Sort of an extension of the previous headcanon, but I like to think Stephens' favourite band is Pink Floyd, I think it would be cute if it also ended up being Americas, too. However, I also think it'd be funny if she hates them or pretends to hate them just to rile him up. Meanwhile, Stephen keeps trying to convince her why they're the best band.

He also plays the piano and teaches America how to play when she asks. They'll play together, and America will take over when his hands start to hurt too much to continue. He'll sometimes quietly sing along. He's not amazing, but he can hold a tune, and America likes it she thinks it's soft and calming. She sometimes asks him to sing to her when she's having trouble sleeping, and of course, he always does.

(Inspired by Xochitl) America loves tik tok and learns all the dances. She constantly tries to get Stephen to do them with her, but he refuses every time (she's not giving up though). Even though he refuses to partake, he always watches whatever dances she wants to show him and helps her film her videos whenever she asks. Eventually, she shows him random tik toks and downloads the app on his phone. They end up sending each other random videos back and forth all the time. But they never respond with any actual texts they either use the reactions or send an emoji back. (They even do this when sitting right beside each other, Wong is eternally confused)

America loves art, so Stephen constantly buys her all sorts of art supplies and makes sure they never run out, she hangs it up all over the Sanctum even painting on some of the walls, Wong is yet to find out about this, Stephen and America are waiting for Wong to notice. She paints her bedroom at the Sanctum, and Stephen lends her The Cloak so she can reach the high up parts. She now has a giant mural spreading across her walls and stars all over her ceiling. (Think the tower from Tangled)

They have pizza nights where they try and make homemade pizza, including the weird types of pizza America has found across the Multiverse, but those usually end in disaster since they don't have a recipe for them. Stephen also introduces her to pizza pockets, bagels etc and she becomes obsessed, he loves how happy they make her but he also regrets showing her since she already refuses to eat a balanced diet (the girl lives on pizza).

America constantly steals Stephens' old shirts to wear/paint. He makes poor attempts at complaining, but ultimately he doesn't really care cause as she points out every time he brings it up, he doesn't wear them anymore anyway.
